So this area is very popular. The stores have changed a bit since I was here the last time. However, the worst part is, the parking lot!!! Way too small and there is no nearby parking lot. TLDR lots of fun small eats/shops. Parking is hell with the valet guys reserving a fourth of the available space. It does resemble a mini mini shopping village you might find in a national park but tucked into a city. Wish it were bigger, its like a parallel strip of small shops/food, fairly high turnover rate imo. Even Blackmarket bakery just closed. The worst offender is the parking situation which nowadays sucks hard. its very very small parking lot to high shop count ratio means its packed and yet all these restaurants are still empty. I stopped coming weekends cuz its just parking hell. Quite an unique hidden place in OC. Yes it busy in the weekends and holidays and parking can be Hectic. But once you got a parking and walk into the camp, it just purely cool vibe, unless holidays or weekend since foots traffic is abit overwhelming. But at every walkways, corners, or turns, there is something unique and different either with different structures, water fountain, painting, seating patio or something eye catchy. The Camp is an interesting little mall that feels more like a retreat where you can sit and relax while surrounded by beautiful plants. They have a nice selection of stores and restaurants. I visited on a Tuesday evening and it seemed that many of the stores were closed. Some stores had signs that said coming soon. I read that parking would be difficult, but there was a significant amount of parking available on the day I was there. I think the mall is a must see. read more

Really late review. I was fairly new to Yelp in late 2013. Way back on 5/7/14, a few friends, my brother and I decided on a road trip from NoCal to SoCal. We rode in one minivan which made the trip super fun. We stopped by here to grab a bite to eat. I honestly don't recall the restaurant that we ate at. I'm not vegan. I had a vegan mushroom burger and that was delicious. I recall this place had unique shops and little eateries. It was a very busy day when we came. It's a great place to hang with friends. For some reason, I always end up at the camp. I've been here several times in the last few months for things like a craft fair, Matcha, Boba, looking for yummy lunch or just some shopping. Parking here can be a bit challenging when it gets busy, but I really like the chaotic layout of this center and it's fun to roam around and see what new stores or restaurants have popped up. You can also walk across the street to the lab and do more shopping and eating. read more

The stores are unique in that they focus on environmental and eco-friendly causes. The shops there seem to sell hand-made, sustainable, and purposeful products. For instance, they have a huge second hand store and local clothing/jewelry boutique. There's plenty of food and drink places. I got coffee from Vitaly before and would love to tried their restaurant menu. I thought the Taco Stand was okay. For drinks, there's Salty Beer, Boba Guys, etc. They used to have an awesome plant-based restaurant called The Plot, but that has since closed. Overall, this is a great hand-out spot. The CAMP (opened in 2002) is a retail campus with shops that focus on outdoor lifestyles. The LAB Anti-Mall is across the street and also shares the same hip vibe, but The CAMP has a very earthy and camp-like set up. [Parking]: While the shopping plaza has a designated parking lot, parking gets impossibly difficult during normal weekend business hours. [What to expect here]: The anchor store is probably SEED Peoples Market and it is a very rustic two-story tall shop. There's also a succulent shop (Organic Designs by Aggelige) and a second hand clothing store (2nd STREET USA). The CAMP also has a mini food court with shops serving boba (Boba Guy's), coffee (Vitaly Caffé), and Vietnamese food (East Borough). Visitors can also check out the adjacent sister plaza called Camp Out (just around the corner). Public restroom is available for all visitors. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shopping plazas you come for photo ops and not buying anything. I personally like The LAB Anti-Mall a little bit better than The CAMP due to better coffee shop, more spacious seating area, and more Instagrammable spots. read more

I remember coming here when I was younger and in high school. It has always been a cool and trendy place to hang out. Now that I am older, I come for the food and nice boutiques. The outdoor mall gives an outdoorsy feel with plants and cool decor throughout the space. There are cool walkways and a pond that gives you memories of camping. There is a cool trailer that sells some jewelry and other cool gifts that is a must see. You can find stores with clothing, essentials, and stores that focus their shopping to promote sustainability. There are also lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy some food and a great drink with good company. There is also a nice nail salon that I want to check out. If you decide to visit, make sure to place a reservation for dinner and be prepared to be aggressive int he parking lot. It is pretty big but this is a popular locale, so it gets busy especially during peak times (dinner time). Make sure to check ahead with restaurants because they book reservations. 'The Camp management or owners' need to enforce cars to park in actual parking spots and not park on the curb sides which is causing issues with the flow of traffic in the parking lot. That's how pedestrians or bypassing cars get hit. Which we (including my six year old who was with us) almost did multiple times just for walking to our car or even trying to drive through the parking lọt. It used to never be this way until recently. Recklessness and obstruction. Better hope something doesn't happen and causes a big lawsuit. read more

If I lived closer I'd definitely come here a lot more often, on the weekdays, cause weekends are just crazy. Came here on Sat night and of course the parking lot's full. Luckily I was able to find street parking on the street just around the back right away but yea, parking is a huge mess. Really digged walking around and checking out the shops. Hi-Li Liquor Market's always good to check out and find some interesting wine or beer that you don't see often. Of course, the 2nd Street here is probably one of the busiest, especially on the weekends. We didn't get to dine at any of the restaurant but they were all busy the night we were there. There's a few restaurants I do want to try but really dreading the parking situations on the weekends. read more

This place is not what it used to be. Does anyone else remember the tranquility the CAMP had when it actually felt like a place to unwind and not worry about being in someone's tik tok or fighting with a rented Bentley over a parking spot? I made reservations for a party of 8 at one of the restaurants here and we arrived in two different cars which was a bust because the parking lot was an active war zone with several potential patrons attempting to park. Don't get me started on their "valet" situation. Situated in the very back of the lot, you still have to haul yourself to the actual "CAMP" site which is actually quite moronic and offensive to actual valets. Not that I can't walk for myself, I'm not a brat, but it's not valet. The "valet" here also takes up about a good quarter of the parking lot and it's usually always empty. Great way to deter business if you ask me, because that's what my party and I did. Support local businesses or support the valet..?.. seriously. This place abandoned their peaceful charm and became a harbor for the newest fad and anyone who partakes. Despite each unique literary motif placed on each parking spot, the environment now curated here at the CAMP is anything but the guided relaxation these parking spots suggest. Every other time I visited in the past 3 years has been high-stress because of parking and the overwhelming amount of people insensitively pointing their camera phones in every direction when all I ever expected from this place is a low-key moment of grace. This place is so cool. It's like the future of malls... outdoor malls. It is a outdoor shopping center. One thing it needs is more parking. When they are doing events, parking here is hard. They do have valet but I'm not trying to valet to walk around a shopping center. The decor of The Camp structure is very industrial and rustic. They did an amazing job designing this place. There is so many photo op areas that is definitely instagramable. It was a very busy day out there.. so I didn't grab much pictures. They also had like a pop-up shop by the parking lot sure if they do this often. I really need to check them out again on a weekday. I was just here yesterday to hit the black market bakery! I've been here a handful of times. The Camp has food, shopping and hosts special events like earth day with pop ups of new products. It's a unique place because this is not your typical "mall" experience. It's more outdoorsy and earthy. There's some good eats and shopping places here! And I love the bakery. Tried the coco-almond matcha latte ($12) from the Chafinity popup. The milk was housemade, so it tasted exactly like coconut meat. I thought it was refreshing, but it slightly overpowered the matcha. I paid $12 for a matcha latte which is pretty expensive for a drink in my opinion but the ingredients they use are very high quality. unfortunately, the drink I had was overpowered by the coconut milk. the matcha itself was so good! the wait was also very long when I went but it was also a Saturday afternoon. I waited almost an hr in line. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful explaining the menu which made the experience so much better.
