I got my vehicle repaired at this location, at least three different times. The first two were very minor repairs. On the third visit, it involved major repairs because the Allstate claim adjuster, didn't considered it a total loss. After hearing the various damages, right away, I inquired about new parts versus aftermarket or used parts. But most car insurance companies, usually don't offer new parts as an option. Low and behold, about two years after a part to my wheel was installed, it went bad. I thought it was a tire, ball joints, a rim issue, etc. I really didn't drive the vehicle much at that time, and because of the pandemic, but the noise still lingers. It finally struck me in 2023, that it was the same part that this shop installed from the major accident that had been making the noise. Long story short, I called my insurance company and the shop. This shop gives a guarantee on the body courtesy of my insurance, but the catch being ... you only get a year, two, or 10K miles, or (something close to that) whichever comes first. on non-body parts that were replaced or repaired. Despite having a top-rated car insurance company, most people don't zero in on the verbiage that's told to them or what's in the agreement because they're either stressed out, very busy, dealing with other pressing things, and or many are very happy everything got covered. But beware, if it's mechanical, electrical, the many undercarriage or wheel components, etc. that exceeds the short mileage or the short expiration time, you'll have to eventually pay out of pocket to buy new expensive parts, pay for expensive labor, taxes, more stress and time lost if you keep the vehicle. Folks, start demanding that car insurance companies start providing customers with new parts for non-body parts too after an accident instead of inferior after-market or used parts. I'm willing to believe my expensive wheel part that South Loop Auto ordered and installed was likely used. They lost my business because they could've apologized and ordered a new one or a good aftermarket one and not charge for the labor since I purposely gave them my business a few times. I have to eventually write a bad review regarding Allstate too for not requiring new parts, especially since my vehicle was only two years old. read more

I took my Lexus here after someone ran into my rear bumper. They are a State Farm recommended repair facility. Their service was top-notch. The owner and his wife explained everything, including the timeline. They kept their promises and even arranged for the car rental place to pick up their vehicle after mine was finished. My repair was immaculate, and they even fixed a scratch on my front bumper (not related to the accident) for a very reasonable price. I waited several months to write this review to see if the repairs would hold up. Well, one of the sensors in my bumper receded while I was cleaning it. I called and spoke with the owner again. My experience with SLAB has been a roller coaster ride. It went from crappy to better, and now to shitty again. The sad thing was Allstate referred them. What a joke that was. Shame on you, Allstate! I was in a very minor accident. I just needed my rear bumper and sensors replaced. When I went to pick my car up, the bumper had white spots on it (they said it was soap). It wasn't. Then I noticed that the metal part under each taillight was badly damaged. It looked like someone took a straight screwdriver and chiseled the metal part to try to squeeze it in place, which caused chipped paint. They wanted to give this car back to me looking like this. They said it was done right!! Can you believe this? I refused to take it, and they did fix it Because I inspected It. It's sad that they don't have a qualified person to inspect their employees' work! I thought that maybe they learned their lesson, and were not going to do shitty work anymore. Nope!! They failed again. A week after picking up my car, I started to have problems with my interior lights every time I pressed the brakes. I decided to take my car to my dealer because I was not going to argue with these people again. They would have denied anything was their fault! Guess what my dealer discovered? All my brake light wires were crossed, which resulted in my wires becoming corroded. Hmmmmm, how did that happen? These people messed up my car AGAIN!!!!!. I had to pay $200 out of my own pocket because of their incompetent employees to get this new problem fixed. I had to take time out of my day to run around and correct something these people should never have F****ed up. This was my second visit here. My first visit was in 2010 where my drivers side mirror was replaced. Different staff in 2010 which were African American, I was well taken care of and great work. I had to return in June, 2017 from a car accident where I had rear bumper damage. Because of my recent 2017 experience here, I feel it's only fair to give two ratings: one for repair work and one for customer service. Repair Work: 5 STARS - this body shop does great repair work. The repairers know what they are doing - they did in 2010 and again this time in 2017. My car looked great when they finished, was washed an cleaned on the outside and inside including floors vacuumed. Shiny!! The person who initially gave me my estimate named Carlos was friendly & knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done when I first brought my car in which I appreciated. He seemed concerned, was nice enough to ask me about what happened in the accident and was able to give a timeline on when parts would be in and an approximate finish time for repairs. I will also say that the men working on the cars were friendly and would say "Good Morning" which I also appreciated. Customer Service: 2 STARS - I dealt with three different people with regards to my car: Jaime, Barbara and Danielle. The day of the estimate, I dealt with Carlos only. He told me the parts would be in on a Monday. On Monday, I called to verify that the parts were in before dropping off my car. I spoke with Danielle who was nice over the phone. She took my name and number and told me she would call me back. I received a timely call back from Barbara who confirmed my parts were in. Fine. I bring my car in where I was dealing with Jaime. Explained that I was there for body shop repairs. She asked with an attitude "Do you have an appointment"? I explained that I had been there prior and had spoke that morning to Danielle and was told by Barbara that parts were in. She goes "Danielle?" She doesn't work at this location and Barbara works at the other location also. Now to be fair, I thought I called the right location I had been to prior so it caused a little bit of confusion which I take some of the responsibility. Nonetheless, Barbara was in the office with Jaime so we finally got it straightened out and Carlos was also there so I dropped my car off. I will say that Barbara was friendly also on the phone and in person and I was glad to deal with her. Barbara had me sign some paperwork. I had to rent a car. I called on Wednesday to check on my car and Barbara told me it should be ready the next afternoon. Great or so I thought. I call on Thursday at 12:20 p.m. and talked to Jaime. Same not nice attitude and I ask if my car was ready. She told me she needed to call me back in 5 minutes because Carlos wasn't around. By 1 p.m. I had not gotten a call back so I call again and she answers the phone. I explain who I am as ask about my car. She told me Carlos still isn't back and she would need to call me back. By this point, I am livid. I need to return the rental car, leave work early to go pick up my car and all I wanted to know is if my car was ready and didn't appreciate the run around. I told her I need to know something NOW. She puts me on hold for awhile and comes back to the phone to say "Your car is ready". I couldn't wait to get there to get my car. I return the rental car and get to the body shop, they close at 5. I open the door and Jaime's back is to the front door. She didn't turn around to see if it was a customer, insurance agent, doctor, lawyer, indian chief which to me was rude. I had to say something to her for her to turn her chair around to see me. She didn't seem to remember me but I called her by name and told her I was there to pick up my car. She pulled up my paperwork and gave me a release document to sign saying I picked up my car. I told her that I was not signing that document until I saw my car which I don't think is a fair practice to have you sign that type of document without first seeing the work they have done on your car. I had to wait a while for my car and didn't know why so I asked what was taking so long. Jaime tells me that my car is in a lot that is 2 blocks down. Why couldn't she simply let me know that or apologize for the wait? Basic customer service that I wasn't being given. When my car finally is pulled up, it looks beautiful and I express this to them. I pay my money and I left. Customer Service needs a big tweaking here - Jaime will make people turn away, you can tell that she doesn't want to be there. I noticed in a few other reviews that there was a complaint of a woman that has a bad attitude so I see I'm not the only one to notice this. When you are the first face of a business, they need to be helpful and friendly and that is not what a customer gets dealing with her. For the repair work, I would return again. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Our car is now having electrical problems! Noooo!!! We took our car here per insurance and it took 2 weeks to get it fixed from a minor incident where another car slid into our front bumper. Well when we got our car back, these are the things that didn't work: 1. Horn didn't beep 2. Left turn signal didn't work 3. Automatic lights wouldn't turn on We took it back and they fixed it. Those are all electrical things BTW when you take the bumper off that they didnt reconnect correctly. Then 5 days later our automatic lane detection light is malfunctioning. WTF?!?!? We are tired of bringing it back for them to fix what they have disrupted because when we bring it back, something else ends up not working! Now we are going to our Hyundai dealership to get it looked at completely and fixed. This is ridiculous. And the owner walked by me many times and never said a word. How rude!!! Oscar however is a very pleasant guy to work with. He does the paperwork and handles people's insurance claims in the office. But yeah the actual techs though will RUIN your car. For any one who has dealt with this company and has been treated in an rudely and unprofessional manner, lets not include being given an esimate of tour car and returning just to see your car is not complete, after the money hungry company has been paid. These are the steps to take. File a complaint with BBB. File a complaint with Lisa Madigan's office, and File a complaint with Department of Business Affairs and Consumer protection. File all these complaints before proceeding to sue them. My recent review statements from April simply provides you with the encounter I experienced dealing with these poor supposedly professional. The company was paid for work not completed .You cannot lie to a person's face who actually saw with their own eyes the work was not done. Anthony Wells is a bad business man that is out for the money. I never dealt with him from the beginning, The individual that originally wrote the estimate to do the work to my car, I was informed was not there anymore during the time dealing with this company. In the response that this company sent to the States Attorneys office, it is documented that I was informed that all the scratches would not come out my car. This was never told to me.This company claimed they called the wrong number when trying to reach me while my car was being worked on. Yes filing a complaint with the Attorney's General office is very important. You do see some results. My goal is to not stop until I'm refunded for the the work not done. In addition, I was not going to bring my car back to this auto repair shop, due to their poor performance. I made that decision not to return, and this company turned around and provided false information claiming I should have filed a claim with my insurance company. This is all false I was covered by the insure who hit me. This is how they were paid. This company is angry that I demanded a refund for the work not completed. This company is totally out of line and are very unprofessional. If your an owner of a business you are suppose to hear the customer out. According to the online information, this company has a good rating with BBB. This rating doesn't mean this company is in good standing with consumers. Crooks, liars and thieves! My car was totaled. I live in Indiana. My insurance company said maybe South Loop (where it was towed) could help find someone to scrap it for me. They seemed helpful enough and offered to buy it. Check never came. Finally Venmo'd the money and then an employee took the car to his house and left it on the street where it was ticketed THREE times under my name because he never applied for a title change. Told me he was taking care of the title, then taking care of the tickets, taking the plates off, etc. One lie after another. Now from another state I'm left dealing with the City over these tickets. NEVER, EVER take anything to them. My insurance company has filed a complaint against them as well with their corporate office over this. read more

I don't even normally write reviews but I had such a terrible experience that I wanted to share with others. I was in an accident a few months ago and after seeing some good reviews I decided to use this body shop for repairs to my front and rear bumpers. After a month, I picked up my car and all seemed well from what I could see. However, after a few weeks of heavy rainfall I noticed the floor of my car filling up with water. Eventually, there was a legit puddle of water behind the passenger seat, my seats were damp and my car began to have a moldy smell. At first, I didn't associate it with the repairs but someone gave me the idea to run a water hose over my car to see where the leak was coming from. Sure enough it was coming from the trunk of my car where they had "fixed" the bumper. I called right away and a manger tells me to come in on Wednesday so they could fix it. I come in on Wednesday and they tell me "Actually all of our staff is out today for training - can you come back tomorrow?" Really?? I come back Thursday and ask if my car would be ready by the next day - I was assured that it would be. Not the case, of course. I got my car back a week later - and they still had not fixed everything we agreed to. I called asking to speak to a manager but they had left for the day. I asked the receptionist to have the manager give me a call the next morning. Have I received a call? No. Please find another place to have your vehicle repaired. read more

BEWARE Just a bad shop. I have to agree with Jackie O an Cathy S. reviews. I had my insurance (Helping Hand guys) tow my car and just raved about this Sleazy shop. I should yelped them to see how there rating and the service was, This was my mistake. I had to call to even check if my car got there and it felt like the lady on the phone was irritated that I was asking her a lot of questions. Very very rude. seems like nobody really cared about calling or even returning my phone calls. Even the delivery dates changed every time I called them and nothing but lame Excuses. Finally I go to pickup my car and there is no waiting area or any place to sit in the shop. Just seemed like the staff was very disoriented and running around. Very Dirty by the way. I finally had my car pulled up and OH MY GOD it looked terrible. Almost seemed like somebody tried to clean it with a muddy rag and the inside was full of dust. The lady tried to hand me the keys and told me " See your car is new again" WHAT A JOKE . I am so devastated I had my insurance company involved to have if they have them fix my noses and at least align my parts. Quick response time - they had an estimate available the same day as the car was towed to their shop.
