I came into this shop for an estimate and was shocked by how unprofessionally I was treated. While discussing my vehicle, Aurelio--an employee there--made a loud comment that he was "going to screw me over." Whether he meant it as a joke or not, it was completely inappropriate and instantly destroyed any trust I might have had in the shop. To make matters worse, he also criticized a previous estimate I had received from the same shop, saying that the original estimator "didn't know what they were doing." That level of disrespect toward both customers and coworkers was unacceptable. In the end, I decided to take my vehicle elsewhere for repairs--and I'm glad I did. Service requested: I brought my SUV in for mechanical and body repair from a collision. I did not expect the repairs to be done on time per their original quote because repairs often take longer than you expect. I repeatedly told the staff at Paul Ries that I prefer they take their time and provide quality rather than trying to get the car back to me in a hurry. Employees at Paul Ries repeatedly stated they would do their best. Quality: When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, the parts of the car were out of alignment. The front pillar near the windshield did not match up with the panel and that did not match up with the hood. When I looked under the hood, someone left a sandwich bag in the engine bay along with other trash. When I told the employees that I was not satisfied with the out-of-aligned hood, they replied that it's "an aftermarket hood" and they can make it better "if you wanna buy a new hood." There was also a loose piece of black trim between the hood and the windshield that kept moving around. I told the employees that it should be fixed in place or replaced. The employees stated "It's just a small piece of plastic." After further prompting, the employees stated they would order a new piece and inform me which they never did. And to this day I am always staring at a misaligned hood while the small piece of plastic trim rattles around when I drive on the expressway. Value: For the thousands of dollars that are paid to repair a vehicle, the time an owner spends without a car, all the follow-up calls because the repair shop isn't proactive on communication, the inattention to detail, and the fact they cannot clean up after themselves, the employees at Paul Ries do not provide quality or value. I got into my first accident in my Jeep Wrangler. My front bumper, left fender, and left headlight were smashed. I went to two shops for an estimate and decided to go with the second (Paul Ries & Sons), because of their care and consideration. Upon seeing my car, they immediately told me that the fender was loose and that they had to screw it down. I also told them that I was scared of driving without a headlight, so they replaced the bulb too. All before my appointment date. I dropped my car off to them on a Monday and received updates for my car on Thursday that it would be ready for pickup on the following day. They also helped me set up an appointment with Enterprise and dropped me off to get my rental. Lastly, they helped in my transaction with the other party's insurance for a claims adjustment. I was devastated when I got into the accident, but fortunately Paul Ries & Sons made this process easy and convenient for me. I was in awe when I saw my car. It looks brand new and is restored to the original condition. Also, the inside was cleaned. My 2018 VOLVO S90 has been hit badly by a SUV at the traffic light. The SUV driver was a lady who was handling her face mask and didn't see the red light... She was at all the fault, so the repairing cost all covered by her insurance company. That was more than $12,600... This was a really bad accident but nobody was hurt. The only things I feel lucky are that the lady has a very good insurance and the body shop, Paul Ries and Sons, is realy good. This repairing took about 25 days, but I never had to follow up with them myself. Because the body shop always kept me posted every 3 or 4 days. They even finished the work earlier than the due and did an amazing job. I was imaging how hard it could be for this kind of huge fixing from insurance company, body shop, or anything could happen. But no. I will say I was so lucky in this unfortunate thing. Hope everyone is safe and won't meet any car accident. However, if it happens, I 100% recommand this body shop to you.
