This park is right by NRG center. I stayed 5 nights in April 24. I returned in Feb 26. As a patient, I'm renting 2 sites for rv's, caregivers (family) and I'm in the other. This RV park is a fantastic place to live. The staff are incredibly friendly, respectful, and make you feel right at home. I live here with my father while attending the University of Houston, and the location makes my commute to and from campus incredibly convenient. Stay far away from this dumpster park!!! There are obvious crackheads in and out. (AND that I'm 99% sure that live here)!!!! The few amenities that they claim to have are less than subpar. I have a drug addict staying in the spot next to me. Not a big deal until, he impedes on my space. He and his guest park in my parking spot and intrude on my space that I pay for. It has been reported MULTIPLE times. I've been told he's on his "last notice before eviction" multiple times, but somehow he's still here. Today, he ran over my belongings with his truck. I reported it AGAIN. Nothing was done. In fact, after I tried to address him myself, management called me racist and threatened to evict me..... someone who has had zero issues since being here. I have followed the appropriate channels to report something going wrong but somehow I am still the one in the wrong. Management is unprofessional - specifically because I was blatantly called racist, and they were intentionally trying to intimidate me - a solo female, when there were 3+ people fussing and threatening me. The facilities have been under construction since before I got here and still are. The bathrooms (there's supposed to be two for the whole community but only one is functioning lol) are always filthy. The park is always full of dog poop. The garbages are always overflowing. Still in disbelief at how terrible management had chosen to deal with things. The location is nice because it's close to things and if you need to use public transportation it's super close. There's constantly homeless people who linger inside and outside the park. I think this place has lots of improvements to do..... It's actually insane to me that they advertise this place as a religious spot with a prayer garden and such, when the staff exhibits this kind of behavior. Super loud here all the time. They cut off utilities without notice (for maintenance or whatever). Wi-Fi absolutely sucks. read more

Kept tripping the breaker due to the receptacle pushed out of panel. No one was at adjoining camp site so we moved the cord over to that panel. A camp employee saw us and came over and looked at it. Said he fixed it. It tripped again while we were still there so i moved it back to the adjoining campsite. We returned 8 hours later to find our cord plugged back into the receptacle that was pushed out, not plugged all the way in and the bare prongs touching the panel box and the breaker tripped. They ruined $200 worth groceries in our refrigerator cause we needed electricity to run the fridge. Very unhappy. Office closed so I couldn't complain before we left. This place wants to pretend to care about people and make you think they are Christian's! but that is farther from the truth my car got hit and cost several thousand dollars to fix. they had the incident recorded on security recorder and knew who hit me. They promised to give all the information and recordings but have always had a excuse not to provide them..when I call to ask for them they will not answer the phone and have called ID so they won't answer if its me or an unlisted number. the place is loud and its really hard to get any rest at night because of all the noise. This place should be avoided at all costs. there are much nicer parks a few miles from this place that are much nicer. read more

Here for medical reasons. Quiet secluded park. Friendly staff, but my favorite is Rainey. She drives the shuttle to and from the hospital district. Unlike the previous driver who only offered shuttle service once per hour between the hours of 7 am to 5 pm, Rainey runs the shuttle to accommodate park residents with most trips beginning as early as 5 am and ending when well after 7 pm. She is a jewel and we are blessed to have her. read more

Absolutely amazing park. Second time here for medical treatment. Super close and convenient to the medical center (3 miles down the street). Not a lot of frills here, but the camp is clean, well maintained, has a great dog park, building all new showers and restrooms, awesome rec room with a full kitchen and a general store in the office that has most everything you could need. Best part? Nancy and Tom, the camp hosts. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home and part of their family! They even host pancake breakfasts and holiday dinners! While no one wants to travel for medical reasons, if you have to, this is without a doubt where you should land! Probably where you want to land if you just want to hang out in Houston too! Did I mention it's just a couple of miles from NRG Stadium and the astrodome? Super score! read more

I have been staying at RV parks for 25 years. I stayed at South main for 10 months through 3 different Management. Dora and Ed are the worst management I have come across. Ed verbally abuses the ppl that stay there and Dora supports him in doing so. There's nothing religious about this park because if there was, when me and 3 other business owners that stay there went to the French corner to let George know of the abusive language that Ed used on his paying customers. Next thing we Kno George is allowing Dora to kick us out because she threatened to leave if we stayed. The reason they wanted us out was because we where not going to let them continue to treat ppl and talk to ppl like dogs. Ed dosent weed eat around trailers and concrete pads nore does he care to care for or mow the dog park. He will definitely mow his own dog yard on a regular. If u rent a mobile home or RV from them he will go in to it while u r gone and then when he is cought will say something like o water was leaking out or something to that . Dora harassed me about a bad review that I never left till now. The only review I left was a 5star review. I posted it on there Google site and if Dora has proof of any other review she can feel free to post it. Dora again, feel free to add any proof u have that is not posted. Moral of the story is There is nothing religious about Dora Ed not the owner George. If there was George would never allow all this verbal abuse to continue from Ed and his supporter Dora. If u think u want to stay here while being seen at MD Anderson DONT! U will be miserable and to sick to move after your treatment. You can't look to the owner George to have your back like I said 10 months later and after spending over $12,000 there he kept the abusers. The owner of the park is shady, does not care about honoring his commitments and will manipulate people and lie directly to their face. I personally dealt with him and he wanted my help. I assisted him with a technical issue and some camera problems and then he refused to pay me. He also owns other businesses that I would avoid, 1 is a car wash on Main st. that has a Florida name in it and a "French" restaurant a few blocks away. Stay elsewhere. read more

This was in an ok location. One of the staff was friendly but the lady not so much...also she has no idea what it's like to park an rv or trailer. She picks the most ridiculous spots for trailers. The spots are tight with huge branches hanging low. All the spots are back in only and the trees with their unmanaged branches makes it hard to back into a spot. So be careful not to scrape the top or sides or your trailer. Also, it's by the Main Street, highway, overpass...so it's always loud. The noise level is ridiculous, you could hear all the vehicles passing by all day long, especially at night. One of the guests suggested another location for next time, he was not a happy camper either! It is gated with barb wire fencing, that should give people a clue, it's rough out there. read more

AVOID, AVOID!! This place is extremely noisy with all the traffic 24 hours. I was quoted a price over the phone for 1 months stay and when I received my bill, it was $100 dollars MORE than I was quoted. Tried to argue with the lady, but she wouldn't budge. Staff is unfriendly and not helpful. Sercurity gate would not work half the time and remained open several nights. One occupant went to grab a late dinner by foot and was held up at gun point and robbed. On my last week there a bad storm had come through and it shorted out the 30 amp socket that my trailer was plugged into. I had to cut and splice a new male connector for my cord. Brand new trailor. Staff claimed it was due to corrosion on the plug and they wouldn't reimburse me. If you are planning to stay more than a few nights, DO NOT stay here. I recommend Lakeview RV Resort. read more

After reading all the negative reviews we were a bit skeptical about staying here, but after meeting the 2 new owners that just took over June 1st they are making lots of changes. I spoke with them about what they need to look at updating to make this place a much better spot. We've been here for 4 months. Just want to say how nice it is. We're in a shaded area which is nice. They keep the place cleaned and mowed. I like that we come an go thru a security gate. There's never been a problem and its quite. We're here for medical reasons and there's alot here also for medical reasons. We're not far from MD Anderson an they offer a Shuttle to an from hospitals and Dr. The managment is FANTASTIC they offer game night where we play Bingo an cards. They have pot luck and ice cream social. I highly recommend here. read more

The new managers are nice but don't seem to care about cleanliness of the restrooms. The leaves and trash on the sites have not been raked since we've been here. Yes we are close to the medical center but not a real safe neighborhood. Our next trip to MDA we will stay at Lake View Resort just south of this park. read more

The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I couldn't give it 0. Went there today to check it out because we are coming later this summer and needed a location close to my school. The woman, Nancy, was rude, smoked with me only a few feet away, and won't allow us to stay longer than 6 months. She said immediately that she couldn't guarantee a spot, but when I asked if there was someone else, if she didn't have a spot, she refused to give the name of her competition and then bad mouthed them to us. For the record Lakeview Rv resort is their comp, and are an absolute pleasure to talk to. Bottom line, she was rude and inconsiderate. We WON'T be staying there. read more

Depressing park in terrible part of Houston. I'd be careful being outside after dark. Very sketchy neighborhood. Several panhandlers outside. Noisy, near I-610, which is a very busy interstate. Worst of all, the park management is extremely rude, inflexible, and unreasonable. Avoid this place if you can. There are plenty of other, nicer options around. read more

Be leery of current "main" manager (Mon-Thursday) - expect surprise transfers to other spaces and/or notices to vacate immediately - even if you are terminally ill (many Medical Center patients stay here during their cancer treatments). We received a 2 day notice to vacate and did not get a full refund after being verbally told we would by the 'main' Monday-Thursday manager. Owner is of no help. I personally visited him to try and get our full refund of 2 months prepaid rent, but he has not contacted me. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Houston. You can see the entire complaint there. Weekend managers (past and present) have been superb and deserve a 5 star rating - just keep in mind they are limited to the 'authority' of the 'main' manager and cannot always give a full explanation of answers you may receive from them or the Mon-Thur 'main' manager. Or your desired requests/results. The weekend managers are always helpful and go beyond their duties to assist park residents. They have been wonderful to my family and were always willing to lend a hand. . read more

Secured RV Park with security gate for in and out access. I had two sides to choose from then didn't care for either one so then the girl at the front desk gave me a few other options. The two options that she gave me were close to the little dog park area which I like. I chose space 99. I arrived at my space and the guy in space 98 was taking up my space with his car. I had to knock on his door and ask him to move his car he moved it. I noticed that my space had not been cleaned in quite some time so I asked for a rake to go rake all of the dead leaves and trash they didn't have one handy but I eventually found a rake and cleaned it myself I went out that night and when I came back the neighbor was parked in my space again he has plenty of room to park in front of his space but chooses mine. I told the park office about him parking in my space and they didn't seem to care. Also the water nozzle was broken and I cut my finger. The laundry room appeared to be clean but no way to make change. I did my laundry and what I liked is I didn't have to keep pumping the dryer full of quarters to dry. I had no idea where the dumpsters were to dump my trash. The place was quiet and everyone seemed to mind their own business. This RV Park is more for perm RVers. I think I paid about 50.00 a night. I don't know if I would go back there read more

The only reason I gave this place a star rating of "1" is because I couldn't move on without it. I am a rodeo volunteer who just recently moved out of the Houston area and wanted to rent an RV space for a month to work the rodeo. South Main RV Park advertises a monthly rate of $375. When I called to make a reservation, there was no monthly rate for rodeo volunteers. Instead it was $600/week or $2400/month. WE ARE VOLUNTEERS...WE DON'T GET PAID FOR WHAT WE DO! The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo brings lots of money into Houston and is for a very good cause. For this RV Park to gouge by raising rates during this time is a disgrace!! read more

RIPOFF!!!RVers BEWARE!! READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. We contacted the business telephonically on 14 Jan 17, without fully reviewing the website. We made reservations in the RV park for Super Bowl weekend anticipating that we'd get the time off. After returning to work on Monday, 16 Jan, I learned I could not get the time off. We immediately called to explain and the owners stated they have a no refund policy. The individual that made the reservation does not recall the no refund policy. They collected $400 for two RV spaces that we did not use and they refused to allow us to help fill the positions. I spoke directly with Nancy on two occasions and explained the situation, as I am an active duty Soldier and do not always get leave granted. I was told to wait until after the event and then they would see if they could refund the money. I understand that Texas and Federal laws allow a business to set their refund policies, but collecting $400 for two empty RV spots is extreme and in my opinion unethical. We didn't ask for a complete refund, but at least some consideration. The sites were only rented for 72 hours and when contacted about this, the owner said there were still vacant RV spots. So, they had plenty of time to rent them to another customer. The business did not lose any revenue from our mistake, but instead profited an easy $400. read more

Worst RV travel experience of my life. Operators of the park are completely incompetent! Pushy wife and operator gave us the worst stop in the whole park. We were wedged in and took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get around a massive tree limb just to get back out. -50 stars damn these idiots. Hope they go out of business. read more

I have stayed in this RV park for years. Going to the Rodeo, always received my Good Sam Discount. Not the best RV park in Houston, but the location is close to Reliant. I made reservations this year, gave my Good Sam card number as usual and was never told that my discount would not apply. Again, I have been coming here for years. I dove 3 hours to get here. This will be my LAST STAY. While walking my two of dogs I was told I could only have 2 dogs. I have and always had 3, so what I am supposed to do with the extra dog? When we checked in they saw them and even helped us park our RV. There is nothing on their flier stating that only 2 pets allowed. Now they have a no refund policy so we are stuck. I would not recommend this place any longer, they have become rude when you call and the poor sweet lady who does the weekend keep calling herself the weekend flunkie. So Sad to feel that way. Unfortunately this is how many older travelers stay and get a discount. Not sure why my post was removed, but I will continue to repost it. The service at this park has gone down over the years and it is the current mangement is not trying to rectify it. read more

Where to start??? I was accompanying my brother for medical reasons and he had reserved a stay at this park. Some of the basic expectations include a safe environment, clean facilities, and use of all hookups. We arrived after the office closed but there was a packet left with directions to our site. We had to carefully back in since there was a pickup parked, partially blocking our access. Once in, we discovered that the sewer line hookup was towards the front of the rv while the electric hookup was to the back. The lines weren't long enough for both to reach... While trying to get everything hooked, my brother was forced to stand in ankle deep mud where a previous vehicle tore up the site. We had to back up to a point where the door to the RV was off the pad before we could get the power hooked. That's when the real fun started. My brother kept getting shocks when he tried opening the door. Near the door was some type of utility hookup- cable or phone possibly. He wasn't touching it as he was getting shocked but I'm sure the wet shoes from the mud had something to do with it. We decided we would have to crawl in through the cab. Since we had no sewer hookup, we went in search of the facilities- and sorry to say, found them. There were 2 small utility sheds with unisex signs. One seemed out of order, the other consisted of a sink, toilet and shower. The floor was dirty, there wasn't a place to change. Once he saw this, he stated "We're out of here". He called the owner and told her we were leaving and why. He also told her he was willing to pay for the night as a courtesy. The next day, he saw 2 charges on his credit card- $100 deposit and a 2nd charge of $450- THE WHOLE MONTH'S RENT! As I said previously, we were there for medical reasons- none of our basic expecations were met and their claim of being "Christian Owned and Operated???" What hypocrites. read more
