Dropped of 20 yo string of pearls for clasp repair, was quoted 125$, and told they may need restringing . They determined the string was fine and I gave authorization for clasp repair. At pick up I noticed a burr on the clasp that would have caught on any fabric. The manager/owner(?) agreed and said they would send it out again for repair. Second pickup; the v shaped part of the clasp was welded tightly to the ring attaching it to the string. I asked for manager again, he looked at the clasp and said it was done correctly. I've owned this string for 20 years and knew this was not the way a pearl clasp should be. He did offer to 'send it out' a third time, I was astonished, he seemed to think he was doing me a big favor. I took the pearls and said I was not sending them out a 3rd time and asked for the original hardware to be returned. He declined, I was too upset to debate any further and left without paying. I brought the string to New England Jewelry in Hingham, they restrung and fixed the clasp correctly, for 1/3 the price! Repair was done on site and they are fastidious about securing your items. I've found all staff here to be helpful and not pushy, highly recommend this jeweler. read more

Terrible experience so far. My ring was from Gabriel & Co. New York. I recently got engaged in March but have no ring to show for it! We sent it back for resizing which took almost a month to get it back the first time and then we had to return it again because when resized they did not take the time to do it correctly and came back with noticeable defects. Courtney pretty much shrugged us off and told us on May 30th that it might be here in 10 to 14 days but wasn't sure because it is coming from China. We sent back the deformed ring on May 8th and were told it would be here in no more than 3 weeks. I read such good reviews which makes me sad this was our experience. I honestly don't even think they care if I get my ring back or not. read more
