The Highlights: * The Drinks: I spent some time at the bar and Paolo mixed up some of the best top-shelf Old Fashioneds I've ever had. Perfectly balanced and high-quality. * The Food: After some live music, I headed downstairs for dinner. Todd in the kitchen is a master at his craft--he made me the most incredible Smash Burger. As a burger connoisseur, I'm putting this firmly in my Top 5. * The Stay: The Airbnb upstairs was very nice and comfortable, making the whole experience seamless. Final Verdict: Don't let the "Wine Bar" label fool you--this is a full-scale culinary destination. Between Paolo's cocktails and Todd's burgers, it's a powerhouse. I'll definitely be back!

We didn't hear any noise coming from any of the other rooms, which was nice. We liked the ease of checking in and out. Note, the rooms are on the second floor and no one is there to help you with your bags. Be mindful of what you take because you'll have to haul it up the stairs. No big deal, but we werent expecting it. I would like to note that our visit to the wine lounge was a little "off." We definitely got a "oh no, people are here" vibe from the staff. We were the only people in there for awhile and felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. It seemed like we had intruded on their social time. We met someone in the hallway while we were getting into our room and she was VERY friendly and welcoming, which made the vibe in the lounge stand out that much more. As such, we had no particular desire to have drinks there again during out stay. That being sad, we would stay there again. We particularly enjoyed the morning visit from a local cat who walked by our window. :)

He asked us as we were staring at the three electronic screens full of beer choices on tap. We weren't going to get any, but then he told us about the new Growler Cans. You can buy a can for $.99 and fill it for the price of a 32 oz growler. (The can is 32 oz). The guy that helped us was super friendly, he recommended several beers and let us sample as many as we wanted. We ended up walking out with two growler cans. I love the cans! They are a convenient way to get beer from the tap to go without having to spend money on a growler if you didn't bring one of your own. This is the second time I've been, and they've been great both times. It is, however, in a convenience store, so there's kids hanging outside. But if you don't mind people, it's a great place to run in for some great beer selections from local breweries. The downside was the price as many others stated. But I considered this a "treat" which I don't indulge in very often. Buying 64 oz is definitely a price break and a better value.

It's easy to find a comfortable place, but also to switch places as friends or new people arrive. Social interaction and alternating between sitting, standing, and walking around is natural in this space. The beer? A perfect variety from the ever present bitters, to brown, to stout as well as several uncommon "blends".

Toward the end of the event, when activities started to slow, Linda provided a tour of the indoor space with casks. The only tasting they currently offer is Kombucha flights (4, 5oz tastings =$10). That's it. IF they want to market themselves as a "tasting room", then they might consider offering non-alcoholic wine flights and/or flight tasting of the unique elixirs they sell by the bottle. There are already 2 other places downtown that offer Kombucha flight tastings, and they have more spacious seating areas and stay open past 6pm. I wouldn't come here just for that. They do have a list of beverages on tap (Dr. Brew, Moxie, Humm and more) and creative "functional cocktails" that range from ~$8-10 per 12oz cup (with ice). The 3 functional cocktails we purchased were tasty combinations. If you find a kombucha brand/flavors you really like, I found most readily available at our local stores for a fraction of the cost *in Ashland*. I like the idea of having one place selling all things non-alcoholic without sacrificing the fun and creative aspects of mixology. This place focuses on creative and health-conscious alternatives to the standard beer, wine, and liquor stores. There are lots of unique, handmade, locally sourced items for sale throughout the boutique-style shop. We have a special celebration coming up and want it to be welcoming for everyone. We prefer to support a LOCAL BUSINESS rather than order online whenever possible. We did purchase a variety of canned and bottled beverages that Chris recommended *fingers crossed* There is a wide variety of interesting-looking elixirs and "wines" available, but without being able to taste anything it's hard to convince myself to spend $6-9 for a single can of something and/or $30-50 for a bottle of something that I might not like. The prices here are about the same as seen online, manufacturer's website and amazon, so there are no deals or hidden gems here when purchasing full bottles. I do like the convenience of having so many health-conscious alcohol alternatives in one place. Chris is very knowledgeable, provided us with several suggestions and provided Excellent Customer Service :)
