Came in to look for a bottled beer from Stone Brewing. They had two from that brewery which was more than the grocery store had. Grabbed one and we were on our way to the register to pay when the guy behind the tap counter stopped us. "Can I get you guys a sample?" He asked us as we were staring at the three electronic screens full of beer choices on tap. We weren't going to get any, but then he told us about the new Growler Cans. You can buy a can for $.99 and fill it for the price of a 32 oz growler. (The can is 32 oz). The guy that helped us was super friendly, he recommended several beers and let us sample as many as we wanted. We ended up walking out with two growler cans. I love the cans! They are a convenient way to get beer from the tap to go without having to spend money on a growler if you didn't bring one of your own. This is the second time I've been, and they've been great both times. It is, however, in a convenience store, so there's kids hanging outside. But if you don't mind people, it's a great place to run in for some great beer selections from local breweries. The downside was the price as many others stated. But I considered this a "treat" which I don't indulge in very often. Buying 64 oz is definitely a price break and a better value. read more

For a corner store, this place is surprisingly good. The ladies who work there are super nice. There's a great selection of beverages on tap and in the fridges. A little pricey but no more than you'd expect from a convenience store. The best part is, they have awesome biscuits and gravy for the morning after. :D read more

They have great beer on tap. Unfortunately the growler king sitting area has no restroom. You have to get a key from the clerk in the market and walk to the back of the store for the restroom. You also have to go to the clerk for each beer you purchase. It would be nice to be served in the growler king area and a nearby restroom. I have continued to visit Growler King, and happy to report that some things are changing...all be it slowly. 1.) Lately, I have appreciated the expanded diversity of pours being offered. The Growler King has begun to bring in some more unique regional and national brews, as well as begun to explore other types of Beer other than obsessing over IPA. I especially appreciate the focus on a few of the local nano breweries, which are hard to find at other shops. 2.) There is still an opportunity regarding the speed and accuracy of the actual growler fill--filling fast and furious, there is a large loss of C02 in the transfer process--would love to see them do a topper. 3.) Price range is becoming more variable, but would still like to see a greater range in pricing. Keep it up guys! It's getting better. Also, liking the new addition of in-store pints!! read more

Located in a wealthy residential neighborhood in East Medford the original Quality Market featured upscale groceries and a very good meat section where entrees such as stuffed chicken breasts were prepared ready to be cooked. But the market closed some time ago. Recently new owners took over but kept the old store name. It is now a convenience food store with an unusually large selection of beer and wine, plus, a first in this area: beer and wine on tap to fill 32 or 64 oz. jugs (growlers). Several local beer and wines are featured and the prices are very reasonable. There is also a Mountain Fresh Deli that is not yet offering all the items listed on the menu. It does have excellent hamburgers and french fries. The fries are not frozen or treated to make them crispy but are made fresh at the store. Fresh fries are delicious but tricky to make without being too oily or soggy. Debby's Diner has good fresh fries and QM is perhaps slightly better. There is also a ice cream counter where Umpqua ice cream is available by the scoop or in milk shakes. The are four high tables with stools, however the store seems to expect most deli orders to be take aways (as the Kiwis say). The management seems to believe few customers come before 1 p.m. so there is only one employee working until then. Since the store is getting better known, it is busier and those who come early may have to wait a while for service. read more

I live diagonally across the field of Hedrick Middle School from Quality, and i have spent a significant sum of money there as it is more convenient than walking down to safeway for a quick snack or drink, and their 99 cent any fountain drink size is wonderful, especially when you want something refreshing without the alcohol in it. They have a cute little ice cream bar, and a decent hot food bar, love their Jalapeno Corn Dogs! They make sandwiches and burgers to order, absolutely one of the best! Only downside i could fathom is the kids from the middle school can be jerks, though i have not seen them stealing from the place, they do enjoy harassing and mocking paying customers, best bet is to either go there before school lets out around 3pm, or wait until 5pm when the kids have finally gone home. Jim, he's the larger guy with a beard, usually a bald head, he's super funny, very honest, very helpful, he could be a great bartender, he is very knowledgeable of beer's, though i'm a Cider guy myself, there is a beer i like "Sam Adams" and he recommended a few like it, and they were great! He also makes the best burgers too. Everyone here is friendly, the literally TINY girl there wore a hilarious T-Shirt one day that said: "I'm not small, i'm fun size" it brightened up my day. The staff there usually has a way of doing that, they are a great picker upper, they are funny to each other, usually when i visit its some kind of comedy show and i love it! Wish they had WiFi though... I love spending time in the walk in Fridge, especially in the summer heat. UPDATE: sad times, Jim had to find better work, now the new late crew is all new and i'm not as comfortable yet, just... awkward. read more

Went to GrowlerKing for beer week,6/9/2018 for the 20% off 32oz fills,got charged $22.55 for $16.77 worth of beer,they had no clue what to do,and did not want to wait to try and figure it out,just paid it even after I showed them the correct amount,will not go back,I will stick with Cartwrights,better selection and price,Very disappointed !!!! read more

2.5 stars Went for a Growler stop to see what Beers they had. Decent selection on tap, not much of a bottle selection about the same or less than the safeway. Tap slightly over priced and in many cases higher than the bottle price of same beer. Ridiculous. The point of Growlers was to lower the price of beer saving on the packaging. Not only that, bottles keep, Growler beer last a day or 2 before it starts to go and if you open it faster than that. Growler / Tap beer should NEVER cost more than bottles. EVER! read more

Visited yesterday for the beer week "block party." The music was great. They needed about 50 more chairs, there was nowhere to sit and folks were camping out the entire time if they had a table. When you entered the store, there was no direction at all. It was really confusing. We waited in line (for what we thought was likely the beer line) but it was kinda a beer buying/beer tasting/food ticket buying line. I finally flagged an employee down to ask how this all worked and she asked "oh, do you want to buy a beer?" sure! she gets me a beer, i give her cash...but there are 20+ people in line before me..? So what are they in line for? I didn't get it. They needed signage or at least one employee directing people to the right areas. All in all, I will return but not for any special events. read more

Quality market has brought the fun back to growlers. We had a group of 5, and Our beerista' let us sample and make merry. There were about 25 beers and 4 ciders. They also had a peach sangria which was hard to turn down. We ended up with a porter, cider, and a brown. It was not just a fill-up, but a fun experience. read more

A great selection of continually changing craft beers and ciders. No matter what kind of beer I'm in the mood for, they always have either a favorite, or something I've been looking to try. 32 or 64 oz growler fills, and the new "Crowler" is a great idea - something I haven't seen anywhere else. "Crowlers" are 32oz cans that they fill from the tap, and immediately seal. This is great for a beer you want to save for a couple of weeks, as the can seal will keep the beer fresh longer than a growler. Also, if you see a second beer, but only brought 1 growler, you can have them fill a crowler on the spot. It just keeps getting better! Quality has served pints for some time now, but just recently added a new room with 3 big TV's, darts, and a 12' shuffleboard. It's a classy tasting room with either barstool tables, or 4 big couches around a big coffee table. A great place to have a pint, and maybe bring a board game. Also... they actually make one of the better burgers (1/3 pound) with fresh cut fries. A great burger/fries and pint combo for only $10. ALSO... they host frequent (sometimes weekly) Tap Takeover events (usually 4-5) with great local and regional breweries. Their website gives you an automatically updated tap list, so you always know what's on tap, and getting added to their text club is a must. Whenever a highly-demanded beer is put on, or a great event is happening, you'll get a text. Nothing like it in Medford! read more
