We have moved on to another company and very disappointed with Healthy Air USA.

The inspector identified several fire issues. However some of them had been "grandfathered" and did…read morenot warrant rectification. A wooden step attic ladder in the garage had to be replaced because of this at considerable expense. Nothing had changed since the home was built 22 years ago. If you are not changing anything that would need to be upgraded to meet new building codes then it cannot be deemed unsafe. Aldo an A/C vent also in the garage was recommended to be sealed. This vent is by the hot water heater and is required to be open by code to detect carbon monoxide levels. I fully understand that "changes" need to be brought up to modern codes but "if it ain't broke there is no need to fix it". Every other home in my 66 unit neighborhood has the same "fire issues" which I would guess would not be addressed during inspection. If I find knob and tube then I'd replace it. But if no changes are made and the ladder and vent had never been a problem then I can't understand why they were picked up. Never mentioned when I had my home inspected before purchase 9 years ago - so what had changed.

I had to pay them $400 up front and the day they came, I had a fever and let them know this so they would not come in and get sick but they charged me a additional $200 because of that. I now I have no inspection and am out $200 because they would only refund $200.
