Been a member for about 2 years. The gym has nice equipment, tons of classes all good. However, the…read moregym has becoming increasingly crowded and members use the walking areas to spread out equipment so it becomes very difficult to move about the gym easily. The two small mat areas for stretching are crowded and often times unavailable. I often see coaches chit chatting on the mats and taking up space that could be used for workouts. The movable equipment like the boxes often are filled with personal item like phone and headsets so it's not easy to just grab what you need easily. Several times over the past few months the gym has had no hot water and/or no steam. I utilize the gym before work so this is a major issue. In fact as a write this just received a notification of no hot water. ‍ The sign up part was awesome, with Equinox providing guests passes, gift receipts for the store etc....ending the membership, however, has been painful. I started the process a week ago and my email wasn't on file despite providing all of my info thru the signup process. When I attempted to end my membership thru the email provided it had expired only two days later. Calling back, had to provide my email again. Went thru the cancellation process only to encounter an "error" at the end. Attempted several additional times with same result. Called the club and was informed a "report" had to be made and sent to the general manager for approval. What? My husband is now encountering the same shenanigans. No email on file, no address blah blah. The Equinox front desk manager was rude and condescending saying "I'm sorry mame" over and over. Extremely disingenuous attitude and tone as if just to get me off the phone and not genuinely sorry. Overall an awful experience. Beware, this is a hotel California membership.

Appreciated that when I said my appointment time the front desk staff immediately knew my name. Shout out to Atalie for being so warm and welcoming. The massage by Jackie is truly relaxing - highly recommend. The one turnoff of my two spa visits is the upselling - following my facial the esthetician suggested a serum to consider and had it waiting at front, which the front desk then also tried to sell. Following my massage, the masseuse tried to sell a package of services and once again, the front desk also attempted to upsell the package. It's a lot right after a relaxing service - my advice is to hold the hard sell for a follow up text or email.

Apathy was kind of the standard of operation at the front desk. I often felt like I was keeping them from an important task by merely checking in. This all changed with Jordan and Edwin. These two are ALWAYS happy! Their smiles make you feel welcome and appreciated. Jordan is the first person ever in years to remember that I request a small towel upon arriving and had it ready for me when I walk in. THIS is customer service. This is not just professionalism, but going above and beyond to make the members feel special and like they signed up with the right gym. To be fair, some of the other recent staff have been pretty good, but Jordan and Edwin are top notch. I'll of course give some credit to whomever hired these two, but they both deserve a raise and a pat on the back. They've changed to whole vibe at this gym. Also, I recently started doing golf specific strength training with him, and wow, it has made a huge difference on the course.
