Very easy to make appointment. Everyone from the person on the initial phone call, to the front desk staff, the nurse/assistant(?) Kayla and the PA Brandon - EVERYONE was kind and welcoming. Kayla started my appointment and made me feel comfortable, talking to me like a normal person. Brandon came in and had very good bedside manner and didn't make me feel embarrassed about my skin or any questions I had. They even went out of their way to figure out the costs of the products make sure I was okay with that, no surprises. Everything was simple and transparent. Even being a nurse who works in the healthcare field, I was nervous about this appointment because you aren't always greeted with kindness in every office; but am now so glad I went. I scheduled an appointment for Friday. When I arrived they had no appointment set. It was set, by their error, for the previous day. I had no way to know of this error except for a text reminder sent at 7am, 30 minutes before the appointment time. They rescheduled for later that day. When I arrived the second time, they would not see me until I paid $35 for a missed appointment, which would have been impossible to attend because of their error. They would not drop the charge "office policy." This is the opposite of customer service. Do not go there. read more

Switched from several different dermatologist in Tallahassee, and FINALLY found one I LOVE! Dr. Ford and his PA's are phenomenal. I have been a patient 2 going on 3 years, and have seen all the providers, all are very competent, knowledgeable, and bed side manner was very professional. I have referred friends and family who all had very pleasant office visits as well. I regularly see Justine, the medical esthetician-SHE IS AMAZING. Tried to schedule an appointment for a new patient and they wanted me to call my insurance company and figure out if they are hmo or ppo. Usually any office I have called in the past will type in the information, run it and figure it out for themselves. I'm not doing your work for you. My primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Michael Ford and the Southeastern Dermatology Clinic. My experience was terrible and I will be finding another dermatologist should I need one in the future. The waiting area is very nice but the receptionist was very disinterested in me as a new patient. She had to take my insurance card two times to get the information she needed. I only had to wait about 5 minutes to be taken to the examination room and my history taken. I thought this is going good but was I mistaken. I sat in the exam room for 50 minutes without seeing a soul. Dr. Ford them comes in with a young woman who was not introduced to me or her presence explained. Ford looked at what the referring doctor had sent me for but in the history taking I said there was something else I wanted him to look at. I had to stop him on the way out the door to continue the exam. He had obviously not read my history. After a quick look he said he would be back in a few minutes. I sat there for 15 more minutes and then a young man walked in and said the doctor has prescribed something for my scalp. I told him my scalp was not the problem and he said he was only a nurse. My frustration was getting the best of me so I told about the poor service I had received and I would like to speak to Ford again. The nurse left and returned with the Office Manager. The nurse said that the prescription was correct but had been described improperly. I told the office manager about my story and she apologized for the poor service and offered to have a P.A. come in and talk to me. I told her that wouldn't help because the poor service had been done. I asked what good would it do and she said none. I was then told that Dr. Ford was unavailable to see me again. My problems were: 1. Receptionist who could care less about a patient. 2. Unreasonable wait to see the doctor. 3. Not introducing the young woman who accompanied the doctor so I could feel comfortable speaking in her presence. Thank God nothing embarrassing to me was spoken about. 4. Ford was rushing out of the office when I had to be assertative and stop him to continue the examination. 5. The diagnosis being screwed up causing the prescription to be misdescribed. 6. None of the employees, including the doctor, wear name tags so you don't know who or what you are talking to. I will never return there as that was the worst doctor's office visit I have ever had. If you go there expect to be treated with little respect or professionalism. Later I found that my daughter had been there once and then went elsewhere. I looked Ford up a Rate a Doctor page and saw that he averaged 3/5 stars while others were 5 stars. He is getting a 1 star from me. Just don't go to him as there are plenty of others available. read more

I recently visited this business and was seen by the main medical provider a person called Dr Ford. I was put in a room and told to undress so I could receive a complete body examine. A short while later Dr Ford entered the room and asked what my concerns were. I told, and showed, him some of my concerns. He looked at some but never checked my back,legs or groin areas. He did take a scraping from one area and left the room. He never made any suggestions about the concerns I had showed him. After he left the room I never saw him again. A short time later a nurse came into the room and said the were sending in a prescription for some ointment to apply to the area where Dr Ford took the scraping. There was no mention about the other concerns I showed Dr Ford. Dr Ford only spent less than five minutes doing a complete exam. This is the worst doctor I have ever visited. I will not return to this place. read more

Doctor is good. Place is very clean. There's been a front desk overhaul in a year. They are not polite or welcoming like the others. Today, I called to alert them I'd be late (traffic and accident on way). Immediately told Id be charged a late fee. This is illegal. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Good doc lousy staff. Poor management.someone thinks this review is humorous. Perhaps the front desk or a manager. It's meant for constructive criticism and to benefit the doctor, Michael Ford MD, so he can see what is going on in his office and realize he has complete control of employees, their employment status and how his office is received by his patients aka customers. When my spouse and I picked this practice as our Dermatologist, our primary care doctor was happy to write the referral. Being in the 5th decade of life and my spouse in the 6th (and a redhead) we knew we needed yearly skin cancer checks. We had had them before we moved to Tallahassee as we spent a good bit of time in our youth through college years outdoors. We have been to the clinic at least four times a year over the past three years. We have seen Dr. Ford as well as PA Bergschneider, who just recently performed a painless skin cancer removal on my spouse's wrist that was about the size of a fifty-cent piece! Between us, we have had poison ivy, two blue light treatments, several allergic reactions to prescription eye drops, and a few skin cancer removals. We are always greeted professionally and warmly, the wait is minimal, and we are met with competent and courteous staff. Dr. Ford is a fellow of American Academy of Dermatology which certifies he has had extensive training and has met additional requirements to practice in Dermatology. Our choice was again confirmed two weeks ago when my spouse had a successful (Thank you both Dr. Ford and PA Bergschneider) Mohs surgery that removed the cancer. We are confident in choosing this practice as the best care for us in Tallahassee for any skin issues. We provide feedback to our friends when asked and many have told us they too had a good experience. read more
