Also, as is typical, they will call or text you the day before to confirm you're still coming. Finding the place was a little confusing because Dermatology Associates is spread across several buildings, so you have to look for the one with your doctor's name on the sign. Dr Johnson's sign informs you that her office is staffed by FSU medical students/residents, so I was a little apprehensive; but my concern was unfounded. The people who took care of me were all very professional and competent. I have no complaints. You might have a student watching somebody else perform a procedure on you, but having an extra person in the room is common in doctors' offices. Went back to Dr Johnson again yesterday (called the day before and was able to get a next day appointment). I didn't see her this time, just the PA and a student or nurse, but everything went smoothly and I was in and out in no time. Pandemic-specific info: I received a text message a couple hours prior to the appointment letting me know I needed to wear a mask. When I arrived, they had someone stationed outside who had me fill out a Covid-19 questionnaire. They also had a bag full of masks, presumably in case you forgot to bring one. I then waited in the parking lot until someone called me on my cell to let me know they were ready for me. Once inside, I was asked more detailed Covid-19 questions. Everyone I encountered wore masks and gloves. As there is a bathroom in the waiting area, I was able to wash my hands on my way out.

This all, too, was in the middle of the summer, which was strange as typically I can expect this in the winter but not in the summer. Anyway, I went and saw Erin. She gave me a prescription for a face cream and told me if it did not resolve my issue that I could call and either get a new prescription or come in again. As it turns out, the face cream she sent me worked its magic and I have been fine since. Will say this was probably the quickest visit to a dermatologist ever though. I was in and out faster than the speed of light.

This has (or should have) been notated in my chart since about 3 yrs ago Harmony froze that same spot AND mentioned to me at the time it was cancer. Dr. Ford was over an hour late in seeing me, which was especially annoying because I took off early from work because the office told me the latest I could schedule my appointment for was 3:40 and that I should come in 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Finally after waiting even longer in the examination room, Dr. Ford came in and, no exaggeration, spent 3 minutes examining me. Dr. Ford seemed hurried and the examination did not seem thorough at all. After waiting longer for the staff to come in with paper work, the entire process took just under 2 hours. I would recommend seeing a different dermatologist. I won't be coming back.
