I love this place, but 90% of the time I go there, the coffee carafe's are out. It then takes 10 minutes. Why in the world is this so hard?? Put 2 carafes deep and you solve the problem? There were two carafes of my favorite coffee, 'Southern Blend" this time... it was great until i realized they were both empty, and they were out of all breakfast food. I had the sausage, egg, cheese (I added bacon) sandwich, a breakfast cookie and a pumpkin muffin and all were exceptional! Taste and portions were perfectly balanced. Everything is organic, gluten free or friendly and tastes clean and delicious. The place is gorgeous. Peaceful music simmering in the background of a spacious, intimate southern home. Delicious coffee - highly recommend the southern grace flavor! I got it in an iced latte and WOW. Service took a while, but most good, fresh coffee does so that doesn't bother me much. I made the mistake of bringing my 6 month old in the stroller.. do not recommend i should have just carried her in my arms. I believe it would still be considered accessible due to the ramp in the back entrance, but it is in a historic home so it's got narrow halls and doorways to navigate which may be trickier in a wheelchair rather than stroller. Baristas were very knowledgeable and friendly. Pricing was a bit high, but no worse than Starbucks and my money is better spent locally so again, worth it!!! Came back to give it a second try and it was a mad house. There was babies running around everywhere and Ngl the parents aren't really watching some of them. Wanted to read a book and grab a hot tea and that was out of the question, there was no quieter reading areas. I understand it's a public place and I don't expect complete silence but there were babies screaming and there were at least 8 of them(I'm thinking a mom's group meeting?) Also my London fog was ALL milk and I didn't even taste any earl grey nor could I taste the lavender I requested. The biscuit sausage sandwich was very very dry and the biscuit was more like an English muffin. 2 of those with 2 drinks will run you $40 for that price the drinks and pastries could be a lot better. read more

Moving here from one of the top 10 cities for coffee culture, I was nervous about not finding quality local coffee. But luckily a few great places were found in town and this is one of them! The building is the cutest most charming historic building with a big front porch with picnic tables and lots of cute home-y seating upstairs too. I worked remote here on a weekday and had the whole upstairs mostly to myself - specifically this quaint room with a padded bench and big table - perfect to set up my laptop and notebook and work from! Felt like I was at home in my living room. The coffee is so good too and staff are friendly. There's usually a food truck called mustard seed parked outside on certain days and you can get food from them and bring it inside. There's also a kids room with books and some toys, if you're grabbing coffee with your family but don't want to disturb anyone there working. I've tried a few coffees but I keep going back to the southern gent which has Butter bier syrup in it as one of the ingredients. Yum! This is one of the most charming places I've seen in Tennessee! The decor is so unique and it really feels like someone invited you to their home. My Mom and I went for their brunch today (which I believe is Friday and Sat 10-2pm) and we loved it! The food tasted so fresh, there wasn't one thing I didn't like! We tried the waffle board, lavender lemonade (very refreshing), iced latte, yogurt, and spinach and egg salad.. let me tell you ALL of it was delicious. The food came fast and our waitresses were the sweetest! We had our food in the library area and it felt very cozy and private with beautiful Christian music playing. Anytime I find myself in Maryville in the morning i stop by here for a cup o' joe. (Not to mention this is the only coffee place open at 6:30am in the area) They have such a cute and cozy little refurbished 40's-era house that offers a variety of rooms to sit in while you work or chat with a friend. They roast their own beans and have them for sale by the pound, i like to get a bag of beans whenever i stop by. They also have some fun tchotchkes for sale from local artists, which is a nice fit for this hometown favorite. They bake their own pastries fresh every morning, nothing too fancy just some muffins and such, but they're tasty! The girls behind the counter are always smiling and friendly. I stoped by on my way to the hospital to visit my wife. Got a Americano, the first cup was Luke cold. The second cup is volcano hot and tasteless. My Keurig coffee maker makes a better cup of coffee. Got the smallest muffin ever. Staff was having a difficult time why not sure. Not a lot of customers. read more

Went here after dropping off my kids at school. It was somewhat busy but parking was ample. I ordered my first PSL of the season and a muffin. Both were delicious and was served by a friendly staff. I especially liked how child friendly they were too. Not a place to get a full breakfast/lunch meal, but it's a nice to place to just kick back with a cup of coffee and a small pastry. read more

Cutest little coffee shop in a converted house! I stopped in for a latte this morning and enjoyed it on the porch while chatting with friends. This place is bustling, and Saturday morning seems to be a popular time for people to stop in. There is seating in several small rooms throughout the upstairs, downstairs, and on the porch, but it was filled up with customers already so we were lucky to share a table with another patron on the porch. I ordered the Dragon, a latte with molasses, maple syrup, and honey. It was yummy and just the right amount of sweet. On Saturdays, they offer waffles and sausage balls, but the waffles were already sold out when we got there. Next time, I'll get there earlier in the day so I can try both these items. read more

The coffee tastes great there was so much flavor. It was a delightful. There is a ton of space to converse with people and places to eat. There was a food truck there that was made it to where you could enjoy a meal with your coffee. I am not sure if this happens often but if it does it makes it a great place to enjoy brunch. It was a little pricey for a cup of coffee but it was good. Parking is mainly street parking and parking around the cul-de-sac. read more

Do. Not. Come. Here. For. Brunch. I've been a fan of Southern Grace for years. Coffee is fantastic. We saw that they now have brunch - offered at the Manor next door. We were excited, based on photos and reviews. We spent over $100 for our family to get subpar food that took over an hour to come out. I'm not exaggerating. An hour for small, bland portions. No one came out at any point to explain or apologize until we finally got our food. The manager said something had happened. We understood that they had some kind of staffing emergency that happened. It would have been classy to comp something. Bring out an extra plate of muffins. Anything. It was just a thank you for being patient. When the food arrived it was bland and cold. The $9 plate of veggies I wound up with (because they ran out of most items and didn't tell us until 1 hour into this ordeal) was mediocre, at best. This was by far the worst brunch we've had in town. Maryville is really trying to compete with Knoxville on the brunch scene now, but this place needs to leave the game. We budget one nice meal a month, and it pains me that this was what we wasted our money on. Again... we spent over $100 here and it was awful. read more

We are in the process of moving to the area and today was our first day. Decided to find some coffee after church and this place was close and I liked the name so I thought we'd try it. Great coffee and great flavor combos. The setting is pretty nice being in an old house. You can sit on the porch and enjoy the area. They roast their own coffee. That's awesome. I'm from Seattle and have tried many different coffee stands and different types of coffee. I tend to favor dark roasts (french/italian, etc). I tend NOT to like typical organic or medium roast coffee; much of that tastes bitter or like dirt to me. I'm just describing my taste, so you can get a feel for what you might experience here. I got the Sweet Caroline iced - hazelnut, honey, and vanilla. Great combination. I do like coffee flavor though, so next time I might add a shot and do slightly less flavoring (to make it less sweet). My wife got a cold brew that tasted great. The baked items are not quite as ideal. They are all gluten free (not my favorite). We tried the toffee chip cookie which had good flavor but was the typical gluten free crumbly/dry. The oatmeal cream cookie (think little debbie oatmeal cream pie) was awesome. The cookie part may have been a little dry, but I didn't notice as much because the icing cream (similar to Krispy Kreme kreme) gave it some good moisture and the combination made it great. It is pretty big and sweet, so great for sharing. read more

I sat on the porch and watched many happy customers stop by and get their coffee. I had a muffin, it was a little dry. I will absolutely be back!!! Im Gluten Sensitive and I have never found a cafe that was not only all gluten free friendly- but was the quality and flavor that Southern Grace has. The environment is very welcoming and feels like home. I liked to come to Southern Grace to sit and study. I love the kitchen and the roasting room being open, giving you a peek into the behind scenes, but further encouraging you to make yourself at home. The lavender latte is my favorite!
