This is a good coffee shop in a revitalized part of downtown Knoxville next to Magpies bakery. I'm not a city dweller. So, I don't make it out this way often. But, as a purveyor of caffeine, Jacks called out to me as I drove past and lured me inside to check out its offerings. Overall, it's flavorful, authentic independent coffee. The real deal if you want a decent coffee or latte. The concept of including plants and other items is interesting. I'm not sure I would be shopping for live plants at a coffee bar. But, it's cool nonetheless (except for the weird, B-list music that was playing). They also have a nice outdoor area. I like the aesthetic here and, if I was a college student, I probably would be coming here to hang out sometimes. Overall: Worth a stop if you are in the area. Good coffee.

Really good matcha! Ceremonial grade and delicious. Would reccomend. Cute vibes and nice place to chill

Super cute coffee shop. I stopped by on a road trip to get some work done and got a table and outlet easily. Parking is good too. The baristas are nice and even made me a mix of two drinks that sounded good. I think having to pay $1.25 extra for plant milk is too high but otherwise no complaints! I would come back if I'm the area again. Also love the beautiful plants.

Jack's is good in all seasons, but they really come through when you have the sniffles and it's chilly outside. I highly recommend sipping their lavender London fog while you shop for a new plant friend or a small gift. Jax is a real gift to Gay St!

New! Amazing staff. Friendly & knowledgeable both about the coffee & plants. Their matcha green tea latte is PROPER matcha! Stirred with traditional "brush" and no sweeteners (unless requested) Bakery items, assorted Toasts & Sandwiches! We'll DEFINITELY be back!

Wow!!! I love Jacks! It is one of my favorite places to go for coffee. I'm in medical school and I'm always wanting to find new places to study and take a little break! This is just the place The ascetic is absolutely everything. I was sad before coming in last week and immediately when I came in I was greeted with a smile and a relaxing atmosphere. Turned my frown upside down for sure haha. I got an iced latte the first time I came here. It was delicious and I snuck a bite of my friends caprese sandwich.... Oh my gosh this was amazing. So earthy and flavorful! The second time I came here I got the peppermint mocha. This was so warm and beautiful right in front of the Christmas tree. I will for sure be back to jacks!

Do you love coffee & plants? Well this place combines both with a tropical boho theme throughout the shop! I've had their strawberry matcha latte and their lemon basil iced tea and I will be continuing to come back to try more things! Plus they have awesome local souvenirs and gifts and great pins and stickers. Love when they have local vendors on Saturdays bc I get to shop around and get a drink too!

Jacks has a very calming environment. This make it a great place to study or get work done while drinking a coffee. There is free Wi-Fi here. The store does not have many "traditional syrups" but they do have many tasty more "earthy" ones. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. The food was good but the portions were small. There is also limited parking in the front of the building so you may have to park else where.

Cutest coffee and gift shop! Pictures don't do this place justice. Great selection of coffee flavors (cardamom, honey, lavender mint, rose,...) local art and gifts from Knoxville, and everything looks fresh with all the green plants everywhere. Can't wait to go back.

Okay as a plant lover, what is better than getting work done with some coffee/tea in a plant shop? Some really cool art for sale too!

My rating is relative to what I'm used to in Houston / Austin. The coffee was average. Environment average.

The place had 2 customers silently sitting and maybe working on their computers but the whole place felt sterile and lifeless. I wasn't greeted and stood at the counter for a few minutes while the lone employee arranged items until I finally asked if I could order. I wanted to sample a variety- so I got an apple fritter, a snickerdoodle donut, a buttermilk old fashioned, and a blueberry Pączki. The apple fritter was the best of those 4. The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.

I ordered a standard hot latte no added flavor just 2% milk. What I got was a full bodied, rich and smooth cup of coffee. The roast has no bitterness. Very enjoyable. My wife asked for something sweet hot and they recommended a latte with honey and cayenne. It was just right. Kick of heat and not too sweet. A surprising star of our visit was an apple tart! It paired so well with our coffees. It was fresh and a nice balance of crisp tart and warm apple. We also brought one of our dogs with us and Awaken is very pet friendly. There was also another pet owner chilling at a nearby table. Great stop. We highly recommend Awaken if you are in the area. Be advised that parking is paid in the area.

Parking is a little bit of a struggle but it's to be expected in a denser area like this. I got their speciality honey bear latte iced. It was prepared quickly and was super yummy! The cinnamon and honey flavor was sweet and strong and it had a great ratio of coffee to milk. Would happily order again! My one complaint is service was kind of...icy? I dunno, the barista never approached or asked if I had any questions and just generally gave the vibe that she'd rather not be helping me. It didn't feel very welcoming, but she wasn't outright rude, either. Still, coffee is the most important thing, and in that regard they absolutely delivered!

It wasn't as sweet as I expected (like if you order at Starbucks for eg) but the ambiance inside is excellent - they have tables and regular chairs but also couches and big soft chairs. The staff up front were quick and helpful! No trouble there. And there were a decent number of parking spots out back - that said, by the time I left, the lot was completely full.
