And lastly, they have the cutest gift shop where you can get something for everyone on your list!! Don't overlook this place when shopping for the holidays. I picked out a watercolor notebook for my best friend here who loves to paint. Other gifts you can find: earrings, books, soaps, lotion, tees, hats, etc. I loved sitting here in the middle of Jack's, with almost the whole place to myself. This is a good coffee shop in a revitalized part of downtown Knoxville next to Magpies bakery. I'm not a city dweller. So, I don't make it out this way often. But, as a purveyor of caffeine, Jacks called out to me as I drove past and lured me inside to check out its offerings. Overall, it's flavorful, authentic independent coffee. The real deal if you want a decent coffee or latte. The concept of including plants and other items is interesting. I'm not sure I would be shopping for live plants at a coffee bar. But, it's cool nonetheless (except for the weird, B-list music that was playing). They also have a nice outdoor area. I like the aesthetic here and, if I was a college student, I probably would be coming here to hang out sometimes. Overall: Worth a stop if you are in the area. Good coffee. read more

The baristas are nice and even made me a mix of two drinks that sounded good. I think having to pay $1.25 extra for plant milk is too high but otherwise no complaints! Wow!!! I love Jacks! It is one of my favorite places to go for coffee. I'm in medical school and I'm always wanting to find new places to study and take a little break! This is just the place The ascetic is absolutely everything. I was sad before coming in last week and immediately when I came in I was greeted with a smile and a relaxing atmosphere. Turned my frown upside down for sure haha. I got an iced latte the first time I came here. It was delicious and I snuck a bite of my friends caprese sandwich.... Oh my gosh this was amazing. This Jacks location has really friendly staff, easy parking, and lots of seating. The coffee offerings are decent; however, I wish they had more gluten-free with the vegan/vegetarian options they currently have. The interior of the lobby and seating areas are comfortable and a soothing with all the various potted plants for sale. read more

Jacks has a very calming environment. This make it a great place to study or get work done while drinking a coffee. There is free Wi-Fi here. The store does not have many "traditional syrups" but they do have many tasty more "earthy" ones. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. The food was good but the portions were small. Matcha is just okay but what really did it in for me were the baristas. They are not welcoming or friendly at all. I thought I would give this place a second shot after a bad experience the first time I came here but nope. Same snobby baristas who give you dirty looks the second you walk in the door. read more

I would honestly give this place a 3.5. Their coffee is pretty good and the atmosphere is super relaxing, but I've never had good luck with the staff. They are either rude and not interested or uneducated about coffee/tea. The first time I was there, the girl working had three friends just standing at the counter. It was obvious we didn't know where to order and they just seemed unwelcoming while trying to visit on the clock. This was my first time and I'm in love with plants, so naturally I was very excited about going here for the first time, but this wasn't the kind of first experience I wish I had. The second time I was there, I asked about the most caffeinated tea they had and the girl recommends green tea to me. I worked as a barista for 4 years so I too know what I'm asking for when I'm ordering anything from a coffee shop. Plants are pretty expensive and not the best. Only two choices of milk: whole or oat, so if you have health conditions like high cholesterol or trying to cut sugar, you're out of luck for a latte. Coffee is mediocre. read more

Baristas here are not as friendly as the Gay St. location (from my experiences). I really like the atmosphere of the Jacks coffee shops so I don't mind paying $7 for a latte to sit in the store but I felt uncomfortable the last time due to the attitude and glances from the girl taking my order so I will not be sitting in this location again. read more

First impressions of this place is it looks like a crack house! Very sketchy looking. Walk in and the music is very odd and quite annoying. Honestly their coffee is Excellent and their food is also great. Their service however, is terrible. They do not go out of their way to make you feel welcome and do not provide even good customer service. They do not even say hello when you walk in. Our drinks were sitting up on the counter for awhile and were never called out. We asked for forks for our food and they had none clean (there was 1 other patron in the shop) yet the workers were sitting on their phones. It's sad because the coffee and food is so good. I come in every weekend and I love this place! I drive from Maryville every Saturday with my daughter. I get the same coffee and the goat cheese toastie. Today I got the goat cheese toastie on the wrong bread and instead of white cheddar it had yellow cheddar! The bread it came on I couldn't eat because it had a huge thick very hard crust. When I asked about the difference in the cheese and bread it was served on the girl at the counter informed me they were out of the cheese and bread it's suppose to normally have. As a small business or any business I would have informed the customer beforehand and checked to make sure it was okay before making the sandwich. I paid 10$ for a sandwich and couldnt eat it. I actually broke a bracket on my braces due to the hard thick crust, which means a trip to the orthodontist! :( I was very upset because when she informed me after I got the sandwich that they were out of the items it's normally made with, she didn't offer to do anything at all to make it right. I was having a bad day and this really upset me. I would have been much happier if she at least offered to make it right especially after we spent almost 40$ on two sandwiches and coffees. Average coffee with zero personality from staff. This was my first time visiting, and most likely my last. I drive by and loved what looked like a fun concept. Plant/coffee shop. Seeing that I love both those things I decided to turn around and visit. Upon entering the staff barely even looked up from their personal conversations. Was never even acknowledged as a potential customer or even as a random person standing in front of their bar. Nothing was clearly labeled as where to order but I found a laminated menu on the counter. I assumed that if I were to wait till they asked to take my order I would have been standing there all day so I just talked louder than their conversation. I walked over and paid the zombie-like girl standing by the iPad, tipping roughly 30% as I normally do. I walked around a bit looking at some overpriced plants as I waited for my drink then came up and stood back by the bar to wait on it to get done. About 7min later (with no other customers there) I inquired about the status of my drink. Without any words she pointed twds a small cup with no lid on the other side of the counter and when back to chatting. Instead of sitting in there and drinking my coffee as I had planned, I just left. I should have taken my $7 to Vienna coffee down the street. read more
