    Mango hibiscus matcha
    John B.

Given the high reviews, I was worried this cafe would be busy. There were people there, but I didn't have to wait. It was a strange experience where I ordered at a register and a price was flashed in front of me, but the transaction wasn't completed, so I ended up unable to pay and sitting there waiting while my drink was made. They have a subscription service, and perhaps there are a lot of regulars, because I got this vibe like I wasn't entirely wanted there. In substance, they had some interesting options, but the one I ordered really didn't deliver. I got a matcha with mango and hibiscus and turned down honey to sweeten it because I thought the fruit would do it. Matcha and fruit is often good, it occasionally crashes and burns, but this one really didn't deliver on either side of the flavor combo. I opted against oat milk seeing they had a cheap generic brand, to find that the same was true of almond milk, which I think was the main thing I tasted. I could imagine there's some quality there and I just didn't have the greatest experience, if I'm being charitable.

Such friendly & helpful service. It is absolutely my pleasure to support a local business ran by such lovely people. AND, their pastries are the bomb!

This coffee was delicious and strong. Just the way I like it! My friend said her matcha was also very tasty. Nice little hidden spot over in Bearden. Found it thanks to Yelp!

Nothing but praise for this new coffee and tea spot. We have a ton of coffee places in Knox. For one to stand out, it needed to offer something unique and Intrepid definitely delivers! Samantha took great care of my friend, Atlee M. and I as I indecisively navigated the menu. She told me about their many teas and nitro coffees on tap and mentioned that they also have the standard coffee shop staples like Americanos, lattes, cappuccinos, etc. I am really intrigued by some of the unique flavor notes in their coffees, like maple, bourbon, and peanut butter. Luckily, they let you have samples galore of anything on tap. Hallelujah! Samantha was also really great at patiently guiding me based on flavors I typically enjoy. I was skeptical about adding a touch of maple syrup to the Dominican blend but it was amazing! You also don't need ice because the tap keeps it cold and you don't need a creamer because the nitro blend is already incredibly -and surprisingly- creamy on its own. I normally do half and half or oat milk in my coffee and needed nothing. And while nitro adds carbonation, it didn't add noticeable bubbles, if that makes you initially hesitate. Oh my goodness, friends. Just get over here and try this place. Great service and the samples mean you won't leave disappointed.

I've been to a lot of coffee shops of all shapes & sizes all across the World. This place is in my top 3 in terms of their style, selection and energy that the owner Season exudes. The owners moved from good o'le CA. The husband loved craft beer & nitro coffee and the wife, "Season," loves tea so they created this place and offer all. They also have their liqueur liscence so sell wine and bourbon if you wanted something to get your liquid courage up. .....Yes that is right, her name is Season and she has character and a very good Vibe. Stop in if you in the area, you won't be disappointed with their selection. Best this thing is you can get a tasting of everything on the house and then order, super cool. Love your idea dn vibe guys, keep up the great work. IG: DaPharaoh #ViBN

Bagels were great. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable on the menu and the type of coffee they have - helped answer all the questions we had as this was the first time we've been here. Good drinks and good food. Will be back

I've visited Intrepid 4 times now, getting something different each time. I have enjoyed everything so far! The owners are incredibly kind and filled with joy. They are excited about their business, and that amazing attitude bleeds into everything they do. It is clear that others enjoy working there as well. The asthetic is clean lines and modern. Even with everything white with subtle splashes of color, the vibe is very calming. They offer traditional coffee shop drinks, but the stars of the show are the nitro coffees and teas. The first time I went, I did a flight of nitros and was blown away at the smoothness of each one. My mind couldn't quite wrap itself around the hot nitro, but it was delightful! I've taken chai (think thick, sweet Christmas in a cup) and Matcha to friends to share and all was enjoyed. PRO TIP: if you like a latte but can't have dairy or don't want the dairy, try the Dominican Nitro with a little maple syrup. I was SHOCKED how it suddenly took on a creamy taste just like an cold latte! They also have their liquor license and do wine and liquor pairing with the nitro! SO creative and fun. In a city with so many local coffee shops I love that they have found a unique market. I can't wait to keep supporting them!

Nitro coffee with peanut butter whiskey and bourbon cold foam

Absolutely fabulous new coffee shop in town! Stopped in on a whim, but this definitely won't be the last time. Lovely owners welcomed us in and offered us tastes of not one, but several different nitro coffees and teas. I had a peanut butter whiskey and nitro coffee with bourbon cold foam - OMG, so good! And my daughter had a hibiscus mango nitro iced tea, which she loved. And the stuffed cookies! Oh my!

Coffee and tea. It is an art to deliver the uniqueness that this bean and leaf commodity brings to the world. Intrepid Nitro Coffee and Tea Bar is one place you should not miss. You will find that this is not the standard. The Nitro Coffee choices are premium, and when available, a limited brew is one that deserves rewards. To enjoy all in one visit, try a flight. Not only is there the nitro coffee, but try a nitro tea. First time I've experienced this wonderful way to enjoy this beverage. Intrepid Nitro Coffee and Tea delivers a unique and quality product with an atmosphere and service to match. I am confident you will not be disappointed.

New coffee shop in Knoxville and the owners are extremely warm and welcoming! Love the vibe here: open, quiet and a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle just outside the doors. They serve nitro on tap! Coffee is rich, bold snd flavorful, though I did have a latte with honey. (Whoops, autocorrect originally spelled "honkey"!- Sorry! ) You won't find fancy-named coffee drinks here, but their coffee is good !

Inside, it has a touch of 70's flair and midcentury pizzazz in a small but serene space. Seating is limited, with a few cozy seating spots and many bar seats and low-top tables. The wi-fi was rockin' and many outlets being put to good, techie use. The barista warmly greeted us and quickly got to work with our creations-a cold brew and a hot latte. There is a $1 upgrade for dairy alternatives and any sugar and sweetener is in a self-serve area, not added into the drink (although the barista asked me if that's okay, thus, I think she would have added if I preferred that). They have sugar and stevia, as an FYI for anyone who wants/needs a different option. They have a few baked treats and a few seasonal coffee flavors and add-in flavors and beyond that, the drink menu is simplistic. My latte was the creamiest, foamiest latte in all the land. The coffee itself was a touch more bitter than we like but we were able to doctor it up nicely with stevia. Cute spot with a lovely view of the surrounding, scenic neighborhood.

Beyond its beautiful aesthetics, the milky layer provided a rich and nutty sweetness that complemented the dark and earthy tones of the espresso. The cold brew was quite the adventure, taking in every layer, one at a time. What started out as subtle sweetness quickly turned into a cacao aroma and ended at citrus tartness. Small but mighty brick and mortar shop in a quaint neighborhood across from a church and lined with other local businesses. Bar stools, lounge chair, work bench, they've got it all. Certainly a hidden gem in residential Knoxville. So glad we stopped by!

If I'd had more time, I would have loved hanging out here for a while. I only managed to get here about 45 minutes to close, so their selection was understandably if somewhat disappointingly quite picked over. I wound up with a cranberry oat scone and a blueberry and raspberry hand tart. The employee was very pleasant and warm. I appreciated her eagerness to help and positive attitude despite my late arrival. The baked goods sadly didn't really live up to my expectations. The cranberry oat scone was the much better of the two; it was pleasantly sweet and had the proper scone texture and only a little dry. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. I appreciated the kind service and lovely vibes!

Today I was sitting in there doing studying at eating some food I had with me and drinking water. I was panning on ordering an iced chai after I finished my water I just wanted to get through drinking it first. That's when Leticia Fernandez came up to me and said I had to buy something then and I was being rude (I had literally only been in there for 5 minutes). I told her I had been planning on it and showed her my capybara points that showed I was a semi regular customer. She scoffed at me saying "some people have way more" She then said she saw me eating sushi from Publix once there (let me tell you this was on their patio for 5 minutes max and no one was out there and it's a public space) Being in a college area where UTK students find places to sit and study should be expected and when I've literally spent so much money on their overpriced coffee there I would expect to be treated with respect. Well now I have no respect for this business and lady it was not me being rude it was you. If I you as a customer are not wanting to get berated and called rude by a passive aggressive money hungry lady then do not go here. Do not support Leticia Fernandez's business because she is a greedy owner. I guess I will never get an iced chai from here again, oh well it wasn't even that good anyway there's plenty of coffe stores better than them in Knox.Oh also she said I was taking up space at a table and they have a crowded atmosphere when there were still many tables open and it's not my fault you set up the space the way you did, what's even crazier is that I was going to pay for an expensive coffee from them until she berated me.
