SO MUCH wrong this man has done to my situation just within a month of being on a retainer. He made deadly mistake in very first week of him being hired. Convinced me to change the judge from my case, alleged the one I had on the case was bad. The Judge change request was done, and I got stuck with THE worst incompetent, racist and misogynistic corrupt family judge one can possibly imagine. Of course ultimately I lost everything. I had him also represent me in a TPO case where he showed up ENTIRELY unprepared, disheveled and was rambling on in the court. Judge was just rolling her eyes and did not take anything seriously. If you are ok to spend thousands of dollars for your case to go down south, that's your guy. Here's my response to Michael Burton's false narrative reply: I have never stated he showed up late, therefore I'm unsure why he's so defensive and feels urged to bring that up. The punctuality for the TPO hearing wasn't an issue. The fact he showed up unprepared and started scribbling some notes FIVE minutes prior to that hearing was very disturbing. I'd expect an attorney representing me in TPO hearing to actually prepare days prior. He didn't do any of that. Two, he NEVER once mentioned that the TPO matter was not worth pursuing. The TPO hearing was a simple request to extend the existing TPO against my stalker, which was easily doable IF Michael actually prepared and had GOOD arguments. The lack of preparation is astounding. Michael has shown to be disorganized, chaotic, pushed out the entire case to the very last second where I almost missed the deadline for the opposition reply. The actual change of judge was a fatal mistake by Michael, which I unfortunately followed per his - at that time what I believed was professional- advice. Unfortunately, as I'm looking at the documents, it shows he represented me for exactly four weeks plus some. Alas, once again Michael shows the lack of accountability, professionalism and any sort of moral. Michael has NOT REFUNDED me fully. He only refunded PART the retainer that I paid to him. I uploaded here the proof of his PARTIAL refund issued in April 2025. It's again yet just another piece of evidence that Michael Burton lacks in area of credibility, honesty and professionalism. Shame on you, Michael Burton. You do have a poor reputation in the legal field which isn't surprising based on what I've personally witnessed. It's also unfortunate that you are bad mouthing other attorneys and involve your clients in your personal drama such as issues with your ex wife, Attorney Vasquez. as far as your false accusations of me being allegedly conflict person, you can expect legal action against you. I don't condone slander when a truthful and backed by documents and invoices review is posted. I would absolutely not recommend this attorney to anyone.
