Just moved down here from MI as a recent grad looking for a new dentist in the area. I hadn't been for a cleaning in ~4 years and was looking for something close to home and affordable. This place is amazing! Very clean. Every person I came in contact with had a smile on their face. I was greeted at the front and treated extremely well throughout my visit by the entire crew. Everybody honestly just seemed happy to be there. I'm a big fan of their in-office "insurance", as the benefits are fantastic!! I had Brooke as my dental hygienist. She was a pleasure to be around! She was great at making conversation, and reciprocating. She even gave me a few tips since I'm new to the Dallas area! Both Brooke and my doctor were very gentle and had no shortage of compliments to give on the health of my teeth. An enjoyable experience, given that I love a good teeth cleaning! Overall an 11/10 experience and I plan on being a long term customer. Will definitely recommend this office to my coworkers & the friends I don't have yet. read more

Upon visiting this office for my first time, I was greeted with a very happy and kind receptionist, she checked me in and I took a seat. My paper work I had all ready submitted so I was good to go. About 3 mins later I was called into the back and dental chair. Emily was very helpful! Ashley then cleaned my teeth and then the dentist came in for inspection. She addressed my bite and altered my cap (which was installed by another dentist). Now my bite is much better!! I totally recommend this Dentist office!! read more

Our child needed a tooth extracted in order to move forward in her orthodontic plan. Dr. Moreland sedated upon my request, and the tooth was removed quickly. We relocated here last year, so this was the 3rd visit for our child. Everyone treated us like we were family, and their office staff was so supportive. We were in and out in 20 minutes! No anxiety or pain for our child. We love this practice, and so happy to have been referred here. read more

Racist unapologetic staff. The office manager decided the black woman standing in front of her was not worth assisting since a white woman who another staff member was helping was more important. She would neither apologize for her rude behavior and told me outright she would not be sincere. The doctor comes out and tells me to leave racist antics, and I am pretty sure they were going to call the police. "Angry Black woman," right? It's called treat your client with respect, value there time and be reasonable. Basic customer skills isn't asking for special treatment. read more

I was so fortunate that Dr Pennie was referred to me when I first moved here 2 years ago. She really knows her stuff, and has been able to diagnose/ treat my various tooth ailments with great success. She's very gentle and efficient. Her staff are amazing - as a retiree I've had a lot of dental cleanings. None as gentle and thorough as what I've received here. Plus their bookkeeper Shannon knows everything there is to know about insurance, and is beyond helpful. So fortunate I found this dentist right off the bat! After going back several times and even taking all my kids for their routing cleaning here, I noticed the dentist is constantly talking with the other lady about everything, what they had for lunch, what they watched on TV and I just kept thinking as long as no mistakes are being done it is fine. Well the day came when she made a mistake doing a filling and left a little hole which caused me great pain for a straight week and I finally had to go back. She noticed what happened after taking x-rays and patched the hole, not even re-doing the filling. This did not take away the pain which I expressed to her and she said everything looked fine. What made me more upset is that she charged my insurance for that second consultation and x-rays which made me ineligible to get a second consult/cleaning six months after. I strongly feel that should not have been the case for a mistake she made. read more

I wanted someone who genuinely cared for their patients and had their patients' best interest at heart. I found that place to be Southern Star Dental. Dr. Moreland and the entire staff are kind, friendly, helpful, respectful, and truly care about their patients. I can't say enough good things about them. Our son has Aspergers. Best office I have ever had the pleasure of visiting and I travel extensively around the US while working. Dr. Pennie herself gave me the most thorough, yet gentle cleaning I've had. She took her time and was extra careful as I have issues with my jaw and bite, she is super kind and caring. Here are some of the reasons why I highly recommend this practice: 1. Dr. Pennie is very professional and knowledgeable, but extremely personable. She and her staff made me feel so welcome, comfortable and valued as a new patient. I actually left with recommendations for an orthodontist, primary care physician, an Italian Restaurant and new gym! They are all so warm and friendly. 2.
