After receiving our deposit, the company significantly increased the price of the project to an amount we could no longer afford. We tried to discuss the situation in person at their office, hoping to find a solution, but instead we were treated disrespectfully. The owner raised his voice, yelled at us, and made the situation even more stressful. The document we signed was not a formal construction contract, yet we were left without our deposit and without the project moving forward. We filed a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC), but unfortunately we did not receive the help we expected. We also hired attorneys, which has only resulted in additional expenses while trying to resolve this matter. Our experience has been frustrating, financially draining, and extremely disappointing. I encourage anyone considering this company to carefully review all paperwork, make sure you have a detailed written contract, and fully understand the terms before paying a large deposit.

The work they did was excellent, they were as clean as they could be, they protected our things, and, critically, they communicated with me as the homeowner. Every day started with a conversation or a text about what they were doing that day, and continued with updates throughout the day. I even got a text when they found a tiny snake in my crawl space! Lastly, ADCO stands by their work. There was a minor issue with something a subcontractor did in our attic, and at no charge to us ADCO sent out a team to remedy it. Gene came to consider the job and quickly determined that he didn't feel HE would be happy with the results. He located a similar looking product and color matched it to both of our satisfaction. He kept in constant contact, did a timely installation, let it settle a few days and returned to caulk. He treated my home as he would his own by protecting my floors, etc. My neighbor was so impressed with his professionalism that he immediately hired Encompass to do an entire kitchen remodel and had different crews in and out this week like a well oiled engine.
