I don't say this lightly--it was an absolute delight and privilege to dine at Southern Tail Brewing. The atmosphere is great; the space was huge with indoor and outdoor seating, with a kind of vibe that is perfect for an evening out with friends. We made a last-minute reservation for a group of 22 (yikes!) at 6:30pm on a Thursday, and they happily accommodated us. We were seated in a private back room with plenty of space, and the décor was absolutely adorable (peep the photos!). I strategically sat next to friends who were willing to split appetizers, entrées, and dessert, which gave me the perfect opportunity to sample a few of their signature dishes. We started with the Beer Cheese & Pretzel and the Brussels & Bacon, and both were fantastic. The Brussels were the standout, wonderfully charred with a smoky flavor, while the maple bacon added just the right amount of sweetness to balance everything. For our entrées, we shared the STB Craft Burger and the Chicago Hot Dog. Choosing a favorite was nearly impossible, but the hot dog ultimately won me over. The toasted poppy seed bun was chef's kiss, and the combination of pickled vegetables and relish made every bite pop with flavor. But friends ... do yourself a favor and order the brownie à la mode (or, strategically place yourself between friends that like to share because we also got the honey vanilla sundae. ). I'm not being dramatic when I say it's the best brownie I've ever had. It wasn't dense, yet it wasn't cakey either--it existed in that beautiful, perfect, magical space between the two. Warm, rich, perfectly textured, and paired with ice cream... "otherworldly" is the only word that comes to mind. After a 4th of July visit to the Clinton Presidential Library, we stopped in for lunch just before the deluge. We were warmly welcomed, served ice water and left to decide what to order. After selecting some beer for a tasting flight, we ordered a shrimp po boy and the Oklahoma Smash Burger both with fries. They were both excellent. We also enjoyed all of the beers we tasted: above ground pool, porch swing (love the apricot), gluten free pineapple (tasty), and Xolo Mexican lager. Also love the variety of places and spaces for sitting, sipping, and eating. If we lived locally, we'd be regulars here! Think this is my all time favorite brewery. read more

We walked to Southern Tail from our hotel. However, I saw some street parking and maybe another lot across the street. The interior has a lot of seating with a welcoming atmosphere! There is also a huge outdoor patio, some of it covered. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful, even giving my daughter a detailed explanation about where po'boys originated. We ordered two flights, and surprisingly we liked every beer. This is very rare for us! I also got to sample their frozen cherry sour beer, which was really good! As for food, all of it was great...pretzels, fish and chips, burgers, and more. This was one of the nicest breweries I've been to. Outstanding all the way around. Just really fell in love with this place. The exorbitantly tall ceilings, and the architectural mix of metal, concrete and wood. The open air space Outdoors. The allowance of well behaved dogs. And the food and the drinks were excellent. This is a fairly new establishment. But it is well defined by its prompt customer service, excellent choice of beers and tasty food choices. Parking is ample and free. Stopped in on a Tuesday evening around 7. They were busy but we were greeted and seated right away. They had live music playing which was a bonus for us and we were given the option to sit wherever we liked. Channing (sp) was our waitress and she was delightful. She gave us several recommendations and also offed a couple of samples of beer to try since it was our first visit and we were unsure of what we might like. We had the Brussels with bacon, fried green tomatoes, gumbo, and 1/2 shrimp po boy. Everything was incredibly delicious, ample portions, and came out piping hot. I come back to Little Rock periodically, and I always have to stop at my favorite breweries. Today, I noticed this new brewery had opened and had to give it a try! Initially, we were going to stop by to grab a growler and bounce, but when we saw the great outdoor area and smelled the food, we unpacked the kiddos and made it our dinner stop. The inside is more of an upscale brewery in terms of the decor. The outside has a huge TV and yard with several corn hole games. The patio is so nice with many heaters. (Thank GOSH because it was freezing this weekend!) We got the Brussel sprouts, pretzels and beet cheese, Chicago dog, pork belly sliders, and kids chicken tenders with Mac and cheese. All of the food was good, but my favorite were the pretzels. These pretzels were the donuts of pretzels! The wait staff was great. The owner came out and talked to us, and she was very sweet. I should have read my previous review before ordering the Southern Tail Trifecta with cornbread. I wish I would have stuck with the veggie burger and gluten-free fries, but I felt obligated when our server ran back and forth and said the cook held back some potatoes to mash some without bacon grease. So I had mashed potatoes, cheesy grits, grilled zucchini and cornbread so dry it turned to dust in my mouth. I was so sad, weirdly hangry but the crying variety. The server was well informed, and she was so sweet to run back to ask the cook if the cheesy grits were suitable for a vegetarian, well, pescatarian anyway. I think my sadness was mostly over the shrimp I wanted on the cheesy grits, but she knew they were cooked in chicken broth, so that was a no-go. I'd have enjoyed it more if the cook offered the Brussels with no bacon, or shrimp with no broth, or even a couple more vegetarian options. Acoustics were bad with no baffles in the ceiling, so voices bounced loudly. Everything was clean, though the tables were quite tight and it was starting to get crowded for the dinner rush. We escaped just in time after tangling with a chair for the table next to us that was in the way of the server as well. read more

This place is great, but the service is often lacking. To be frank, we go dreading how chaotic the place seems, but are gifted delicious foods and drinks that the chaos subsides. Seriously, once all of our food was brought twice, another time none of our food was correct, another our waiter forgot half our ordered items, and finally seated so close to other tables we basically heard their break up. Awkward and chaotic. I can't complain too much, the food is great and the drinks are strong. Price isn't terrible. One time they had a cat adoption event outside!
