$120 for rinky-dink Mountain really!? Even if the lodge was updated, even if there was more vertical, it still wouldn't be worth $120. Not only that it says on the website $59 on Tuesdays, but not on a holiday. Presidents' Day is a one day holiday, so how's the whole week a holiday season. I don't care if schools are off they should not be reneging on their promises of $59 day pass passes. We came expecting to pay that price. I complained to at least three people. Nobody offered me any recourse. Not only that they've gone cashless which excludes people who don't have credit cards. Plus, you can only buy tickets online so there's no way around to even talk to. They have some guys wandering around a jackets that can help you process their overpriced tickets, but no booth no manager no nothing. It's icy, crappy and I'm not coming back ever. I'd rather ski somewhere else if I'm gonna pay this kind of money. If you're gonna ski a small central to Western New York mountain; keep heading west to the skiing over by Buffalo the snow but better anyway. read more

Last semester (or was it two semesters ago?), I visited Greek Peak for my first-ever skiing adventure, accompanied by my friend who has been skiing since childhood. As a complete beginner, I was a bit of a physical hazard on the slopes - picture me sliding down the hill in sheer terror (stopped in the middle and had a panic attack), sometimes sitting (laying is more accurate) in the snow, utterly immobilized by my unwieldy penguin-like flippers. Despite my less-than-graceful attempts, I miraculously managed to avoid any serious collisions. Though I'm obviously not ready to tackle the intimidating black diamond runs (seriously scary), I genuinely enjoyed my time at Greek Peak. From the get-go, Greek Peak made a positive impression. The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning snow-covered landscapes and a well-maintained facility. This review is for Ben, I believe the Director for the Adventure Center and for the Nor' easter Mountain Coaster....... Greek Peak was one of the stops for my boyfriend and I, on our mini day trip. This mountain coaster operates year round. They recently switched over their on line systems, when purchasing tickets for the coaster, and completing your waiver. My boyfriend was having an issue with his ticket verification, and signing his waiver, prior to us both riding on the coaster. Ben, was patient, kind and understanding and helped walk him through the glitches. Shout out to you Ben, for making an almost frustrating start to a more pleasant and enjoyable experience for us both. The Nor' Easter Mountain Coaster, in my opinion very scenic, and comparable to the Smokey Mountain Alpine Coaster. The ride itself was well over 5 minutes, with a thrilling long track. I went to Greek Peak for the first time this weekend, not sure what took me so long to get here considering I grew up skiing in Tully! I really enjoyed this mountain and thought it had a great variety of trails - easy greens and super challenging double blacks! We stayed at Greek Peak for Land Rover's 75th anniversary celebration. I have to say, compared to another ski resort we've stayed at, this one was much better. Our room had a queen bed and pull out sofa bed with a fully equip kitchen. It felt clean and we had a nice big balcony with table and chairs. There were only two restaurant options and a little Waffle Shack opened daily. The hotel had a nice heated pool and hot tub. I actually thought it was better than paying for the indoor water park where the water was cold. My kids enjoyed the wave pool but they were too little to do any of the big slides. Water park tickets were worth it for the kids but if I was on an adult only trip, I wouldn't pay for the water park. The hotel pool was the better option in my opinion. The resort had an adventure center with zip lines, mountain coaster, and other climbing activities. We only took advantage of the mountain coaster. There was also an arcade connected to the indoor pool. The kids enjoyed the arcade and it was pretty inexpensive to buy tickets for the games. read more

This year was my first time skiing here. The Monday deal is great, $29 after fees for the evening. It certainly makes skiing more enjoyable when the lift pass doesn't break the bank. The trails were lit up well at night and the lifts were running efficiently. Will definitely be back! read more

I stayed at Greek Peak this weekend for a wedding that was held on the resort property, so it was really the only option. Even if it hadn't been the only option, it was a totally fine stay with some fun amenities! Overall, the staff seemed super overwhelmed and disorganized--I think there were four weddings held there this weekend--so several guests (ourselves included) didn't get the rooms we'd booked, and a couple had to sleep on the floor. It was fun to have an alpine slide and water park on the property, and it's just a short drive to Ithaca, so there were a mole activities during the down time before the main event. The bed was super firm and the pillows were lumpy so if you can bring your own pillow I'd recommend it. I could see this being a great little getaway for a family with kids--winter or summer! As an adult, I personally wouldn't have chosen to come here or recommend coming back to other adults as a vacation, but it was a cute wedding venue and the post-party water park was unique and fun! read more

We went there for the NYOA Ditch Banger. The parking was absolutely ridiculous. We were sent way back into a poorly maintained pathway, by their wide open field camping area, to a field for parking. We then had to walk a long distance to get to the mountain and there was no direct path to get there, leaving us to walk thru tall weeds where one of the members of our group ended up with a tick on them. It's $20 per person to observe the race. But don't expect to see a ton, since the racing is all over the mountain. Their main lift is open for Sky tours. That is $12 per person. Thankfully my 6 year old was free. There was a live band playing on the deck at Trax. They had a food truck and some other food and drink things open as well. I'm deducting a star because of the parking. Last year they had us park on the hills by the lodge and that was a little less bad. This year felt like disorganized chaos. read more

A solid sized mountain with a good local crowd and busy in holidays. The muddy lot is a challenge, but the lodge has a ski store, restaurant, a couple ticket windows, bathrooms and lockers. I recommend that you drop off at the entry and then park (it's a long soggy walk even on a cold day). Some lifts don't open early and not at all on other days, so look online for status and go from there. Greens vary in difficulty, some are closer to easy blues in an icy day. There are some long flat zones after lifts or areas where I think better design would be good. Vision Express is a fast quad lift. Lift 5 in the back is often emptier. The blues and blacks are about the same difficulty according to more advanced skiiers. read more

Ski resorts are usually rated by their vertical drop (peak to base) and Greek Peak's 952' in the Finger Lakes region is on the small side, on par with ski mountains in the Poconos and about 1/2 or less of the resorts further east. I usually don't go skiing early in the season after Christmas due to lack of snow, but the opportunity from last week's snow storm came, so we drove up from the City. We reserved a hotel room, ordered lift tickets online, arrived the night before and hit the slopes in the morning. It never got too crowded during the day, so I was happy about that. We got lucky getting a decent parking spot, arriving at 9am, with a short walk to the lifts after changing into our gear in the car. The initial snow report was 12 out of 56 trails open and 2 out of 6 lifts, but things got better as the day progressed and they opened a couple of more lifts. The main quad person lift (#1A) is not a detachable chair like at bigger resorts, but has an interesting conveyor belt to help you load without slowing down the cable. Our initial 2 runs had no waiting, but then ski school started and the lift lines built up. Management realized this and smartly opened up double chair lift #1 and the lines disappeared the whole day. Many of the outlying trails were closed but the main ones were open. I was disappointed that the east side was closed, so we stayed on the front face. We warmed up on the easy greens, Karyatis, East Meadows, Platonic. Then moved to the blue cruisers, Elysian Fields, Stoic, Trojan and tried out a black trail, Iliad. Most of the black trails were closed due to thin snow coverage, but they should be better as the season progresses. After 10 runs in the morning and 2 more after lunch, I was pooped. I'll just wait in the lodge with my hot chocolate until they kick the kids off the mountain. A return trip might be in the cards. read more

Of the multiple resorts that I've been to the rental experience was aggravating to a point that I would rather have left then endured. the experience at the custom boot fitting line took 35 minutes for them to give me a boot that was a few sizes too small, the only other options were booths that were or 3 sizes too big. (I am an adult woman's size 7 and went out on a 6.5 boot. Only other option was a size 10 women) It took so much longer than a rental experience at perfect north In Indiana where I have a season pass. My expectations were higher since NY has "better snow" and more traffic than I would expect for a small resort in Indiana. I paid multiple hundreds of dollars to have my toes crushed during non-peak hours and to get a board size That technically wasn't the best for my stature or weight class. Will not return. read more

I visited Greek Peak back in early February for a weekend long ski trip and had a BLAST. This is a great mountain for everyone from beginners to experts. I went with a group of 5, all different levels and everyone was able to find slopes they were comfortable with. I lovedddddd that their black diamonds weren't just straight down steep hills but fed off into more "fun" curvier trails. There was always something to explore or try and we rarely did the same trail more than twice. Every slope was labeled clearly and easy to read so you never got caught on a trail above your skill level. The lodge was clean and actually had amazing food. I got a few cocktails there over the weekend and loved each one of them (especially the one that was a twist on a White Russian). There was table service so you didn't have to walk around too much in your awkward ski boots and could actually relax. This was seriously one of the best lodges I've visited. It was a bit of a drive from Jersey but a great place to spend the weekend and a seriously wonderful ski resort! Everything from the trails to rentals to lodge drinks was A+. read more

I just started skiing this year and the greens are not to challenging and the blacks are very challenging. But there is one bad part the food is extremely expensive. I was really stoked to visit Greek Peak for New Years. First, they did a wonderful job trying to ensure proper COVID-19 measures to keep their guests safe. I was disappointed in the number of trails that were open. I also found the snow to not be groomed well with plenty of green/dirt patches. The weather was cold enough for the resort to make snow, but they did not. I was able to eat at the lodge. They had a wide variety to choose from. The food was average but the service was excellent. I am very very disgusted with this resort and how i was treated. i went to the water part for the day to spend time with my family before i leave for the army. i decided to grab a quick hot chocolate in a small starbucks machine. i drank half just to find a maggot in my mouth. i preceded to open the top to find multiple floating. not only did i take a few sips but i drank HALF. not knowing how many i digested. my brother, sister-in law and i brought the drink showing the maggots. and all we got back was "thank god j haven't gotten a drink out of there. that's disgusting" very comforting? not pleased. was offered my money back "$1.50" from having multiple maggots in my mouth? no thank you. be careful with what you drink at this resort. read more

Having a home close to Elk Mountain has never afforded me the chance to try much north of the boarder, but yesterday we made the run to Greek, and I am glad we did. Prices were comparable for a day pass ($325 for 5), and the crowds on a Friday were non- existent. We lives the layout of the parking, the drop-equipment zone, and the ease of access to the ticket area and chairlift. I was also impressed by the variety of terrain, but unfortunately, I guess mother nature has not dumped adequate snow on Cortland to open the entire mountain, as many many trails (including the glades) were closed. Bummer. I know there's a lot of acreage, but I guess the snowmaking (or temps) has been prohibitive. Most of the snow was pretty granular and seemed to he machine made, so I guess kudos for getting as much open as possible. Staff was extremely chatty and friendly- both in the lodge and the lift operators outdoors. Lodge was...adequate. The new deck is quite nice, complete with heaters and firepits. The rest- including the cafeteria- felt pretty dated but functional. It was clean, and social distancing and masks signeage was present (andfollowed) everywhere. Food was good in the cafeteria, and prices were fair-ish and on par with Elk. I would definitely come back, but only after a good solid snowfall to fully experience all that Greek Peak has to offer. read more

All cdc guide lines are enforced, temp checks and paper work filled out for very one upon entering the building as well as arcade and pool area. Greek Peak Mountain Resort was recommended to me when I was avidly looking for an area to ski at. Free parking is immediately to your right from where you enter for Greek Peak. However, it's kind of located on the opposite far end of the rental area. The signs pointing to the rental area were misleading that led us to a dead end. We probably had to ask twice before a nice gentleman walked us to the rental area. The staff were quite friendly! They helped us all out with the skis, poles, and boots. Prices: Lift tickets: $64.00 Rental package (Ski/Board + Poles + boots, No helmets): $34.50 Day, $31.50 Night for adults Individual adult pricing: Skis/Board: $21.50 Boots: $18.75 Poles: $5.75 Helmet: $9.50 **If you have a college ID, take it for discount** The runs were limited when I went due to weather condition. Winter this year wasn't the greatest in Central New York. Slopes had ice, and the powder was only in some areas. No lines for the lifts in the beginning but got more populated around noon. Compared to other mountain resorts I've been to, Greek Peak is average. For what it is, it is probably a great place located in Central New York. Took a family day trip to Greek Peak, and our toddler got his first ski lesson. The lesson was pricey, but included rentals for him. We were happy with his first riding experience and impressed by how accommodating the staff was. We rented skis and opted for the 4 hour pass and hit the slopes. Their prices are really high, nearly comparable with Breckenridge or other rocky mountain ski areas. The experience cannot compare, so they may need to revisit pricing to reflect what they are offering. The lodge itself is in need of an overhaul. Dirty, stinky, under cooked food, and few options. I don't expect a gourmet meal, but I do expect fully cooked pizza. We had fun despite those issues, and if we lived in the area we'd probably visit it seasonally. They have some work to do, updating equipment and replacing some of their chair lifts that are held together by bungee cords. read more

My daughter and I went zip lining during our vacation. The cost was $55 for each person for the four zip line rides. Two of them are short runs. The last run is the longest and best. The people conveyor to the top is a little awkward for some people but I had no trouble. This course requires some walking and climbing stairs. My family and I enjoyed a 5 day, four night stay at Greek Peak Ski Resort this past February. Our room was nicely decorated in winter lodge style and featured a well-equipped kitchen and a fireplace. My sons enjoyed the indoor Water Park, and my wife and I enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the ski slopes. We were fortunate to have excellent ski conditions with snowy and powdery conditions. There was a good variety of trails that kept our interest. As other reviewers have alluded, the staff at the ski resort are helpful, friendly and take pride in their work. The only suggestion that I can offer is to extend the hours of the restaurant (I believe it was called the Acorn Grill) past 9 PM to accommodate a relaxed vacationer's timeline. So- last minute ski trip with the family. We had life long skiers and boarders, novice, and a five year old who needed to learn to ski. We were pleasantly surprised with this mountain. The trails were well kept. Lucked out and got 10 inches of fresh powder. They were blowing night and day when it wasn't snowing. The bar and restaurant were fresh and relevant. Our college kids even drove up to give it a whirl. Staff was friendly and helpful. Matt in the rental area was particularly helpful. He made the trip perfect for our family. We stayed at The Hope Lodge across the street. Kids did the water park in down time. The Acorn restaurant inside did not disappoint. Room service was excellent. I have only skied Greek Peak once and it was at the end of the 2007 season. The day I went was really a Seasons Pass day since I think I am one of the few people on the mountain that paid for a pass ($54 weekend rate). In spite of the fact that it was one of the last days of the 2007 season the skiing was good. In fact I had only planned on skiing in the morning and then catching a Syracuse Lacrosse game in the afternoon. I was having so much fun I skied until 5 PM when a storm showed up and it started to rain (complete with thunder and lightning). The runs at Greek Peak are long and there is a lot of different terrain. I skied on of the mogul fields on the day I went. It actually turned out to be one of the best days of skiing I had the whole year. My only mistake was not buying a seasons pass. Greek Peak had a deal that if you bought a 2007 - 2008 season's pass it could be used at the end of the 2006 - 2007 season. There is some risk but at $54 a pop it would not take long to break even on a $239 (I think) season's pass. I am looking forward to skiing Greek Peak a couple of times this year. I am going to get some of my friends to come with me as well. read more

The lodge is a little outdated. We had a bad experience with the front desk. We were skiing and called for a shuttle they told us it was still running. Called 15 minutes later and NO shuttle. After coming back to the lodge after WALKING in the snow. We asked for a roll away bed and were told it would be a fee. I'm sorry WHAT??? That would have been the very least they could have done to accommodate us. Coffee pot in the room but no coffee. The beds are very uncomfortable. The tvs are completely too small for the rooms. Toilet paper ran out and you can't replace them as the dispenser is locked. The fireplace did not work. We said something to the front desk. They said they would send someone up the next day. I have been to greak peak 3 times. Once to zip line, once in a wedding, and just recently to the mountain coaster and water park. Each time I feel totally impressed. Yesterday I took my Son and my Mother to the water park and mountain coaster, We all had a terrific time. We never ran out of things to do. This review pertains to the Cascade water park at Greek Peak lodge. Dreary and dirty. Bathrooms dirty, hair in drains. Walk in, first thing....Arcade.... Walk up desk... got wrist band... person behind counter didn't mention lockers so I assumed they were through the doors to the water park. Nope! My mistake. After wandering around trying to find lockers back to front desk. Oh yes... that will be 10 extra dollars for locker, Ok fine. The sign in Water park said Lockers and changing area. Nope! Lockers are in arcade area which person who waited on us neglected to say. Not convenient! Which is why everyone had their clothes and bags piled up on their tables I guess. They have approximately 4 changing rooms. Not nearly enough for the number of people they allow in. So disappointing. Only reason we stayed was because my grand daughter was so excited to go in the water. Can not recommend to family or friends read more
