from first call to job finished such a professional businless. they power washed our home and it looked great. after a few days to let the house drive painters arrived. they were early and jump right in making sure the surfaces were ready to be painted. once the painting started we were so amazed how meticulous these painters were. the job estimate was 2 days but on second day they didn't rush or cut corners but continued to focus on perfection. when they finished, and double and triple checked everything we were thrilled with the result. we have hired multiple painters and my husband has always had to fix or repaint. Unfortunately I found this experience disappointing. Communication is frustrating because the company utilizes a "reply all" method for emails so the client does not have a project manager or go-to person and I spoke with numerous contacts. Our one day project turned into 2.5 days (which I found out about half way through day one): 2 days for the original project and another couple hours for repairs/corrections. After everything was completed, I'm still finding paint splatters on our floor, missed patchwork, poorly done patches, and some paint inconsistencies. I wish we would have done the work ourselves or left it alone and not repainted. read more

I am renting the home. For starters the first time they showed up it was unannounced. I had the people watching the home turn them away it took them about a month to go back out there. There where a couple of areas where they needed to replace the drywall because of the water damage and they just painted over it. Not even a week in from the work they did and there is chipping already. Very poor quality of work. Very unprofessional as well. They left foot prints all over my bath tube. They left debris along the hallway and in the bathtub. In the garage they left work material and got some of the spakling on my washer and kayak. If this was coming out of my pocket I would demand a refund again I'm renting so I hope for those who are spending their hard earned money think twice before conducting business with them . read more

We had trouble with the exterior department, the drywall department, and the carpet department but had no choice but to work with them as we rent our home. Nobody in this company seems to have a clue about management, craftsmanship, or respect for the clients time. A couple years ago, I hired these worthless idiots to remodel my kitchen and paint out my house on a rental property in Swansboro. Luckily for them, I had to do everything via phone and pictures because I was stationed in Quantico at the time. Through pictures, I had to correct their worthless work repeatedly. 1. Put plywood in a $3k cabinet set, for shelves, as if it didn't come with shelves. I had to tell them that was ludicrous. 2. Had linoleum floor laid in kitchen. They put it in AFTER cabinets were installed and just cut even with cabinet bases, where it was curling up and bowed in pictures. I had to ask if they planned to put quarter round down to finish it out. 3. Mounted dishwasher in place, in a corner, stuck out so far, perpendicular drawer and cabinet couldn't open. When I had them push it in the rest of the way, linoleum didn't cover floor in front of dishwasher. They "fixed" it by putting quarter round down in front of dishwasher. Hope I never have to pull dishwasher out for repair, right? 4. Via pictures, I could see they missed some painting around trim. 5. After a few years, my tenants moved out, and now I'm back in town to prep house for resale. The paint job is so sub-par, it's comical. The crown molding is painted an extra quarter inch down the wall; the floor has white, trim-paint on it; there are 2" screws drilled into the side of dishwasher, sticking out 1.5" through under-sink area; there are swashes of trim with wall paint showing through trim paint. Doors are half brushed out, vice rolling them with a thin-nap roller. I argued, repeatedly, via email and phone, about things I could see that were terrible. If I were here to see this cluster-F in person, I'd have fired them on the first day. If you need a professional, find one. These guys are not the professionals you are looking for. See the pics for a handful of reasons to never hire these jack balls. Happy to counter ANY reaction they have to this review. I still have the email communications where I lost it on their shifty job. They even decided to not charge me for the kitchen floor, because I insisted they redo it, properly, without the big gap in front of my dishwasher, or remove that from the bill. read more

Southern Touch came highly recommended from several friends in the area, they had a great reputation which was why I decided to hire them. I tried to be understanding in regards to their schedule given the extent of damage to the area due to Hurricane Florence however their organizational, management and communication skills have become increasingly difficult to tolerate. On multiple occasions their crews have showed up to work for just a couple of hours or not shown up at all. Whenever you call their office you get passed around to different departments but no one seems to know what the others are doing, there are no specific project managers nor does there seem to be any oversight/inspections at the job site. They wait until the last minute to discuss options as far as design/color/material etc. and have even sent painters that had no idea what color they were supposed to use. When they actually get the work done it is good but everything leading up that is an unprofessional, disorganized mess. Their prices aren't terrible and their workmanship, when they actually get it done is good which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. This company could be great if they were managed and organized better. Use them if you have a small one day job, for large, complicated projects find a different company. read more

DO NOT CONTRACT THIS COMPANY!!! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS YOU CAN. We were purchasing a house for a family member and this company was contracted to repair the siding on the front of the house. After the work was complete we thought they did a great job matching the siding on the house. After we closed on the house we were clearing out some over grown trees from the back of the yard that were up against the house. That is when we discovered all this company did was cut the size of the siding that they needed for the front of the house from the back of the house that was hidden from where the over grown trees where. I am VERY pleased with the 2 man crew that came out to complete the painting of our home after hurricane Florence. They ended up painting most of the rooms and not just touch ups. There was one coat of paint with white wall showing through and many missed areas. We are giving the compliment to Christopher and Emerson who were very detailed and complete professionals. I'm renting the house I'm staying in. The roof needed replaced. They came out and did an estimate last fall. Didn't hear about the roof since, but hurricane Florence hit. A lot of roofs needed repairs, so that's understandable. I have a baby and two dogs. My property manager knows this. I have a sign on my door "don't knock, sleeping baby, protective dogs will bark..." At 0730 this morning, someone is BANGING on my door! Luckily I wake up at 0700. I was feeding my baby when I heard that inexcusable noise at my front door. So I wait until my baby finished eating. I hear an even louder bang bang bang!! I'm pissed beyond reason now, for someone to be this arrogant, this early in the morning. I get to the front door baby in my arms. And this jerk off tells me to move my truck so he can unload the pallets of shingles. I had no idea what the hell he was talking about, because I wasn't informed of this. I knew the roof needed replaced but my property manager didn't contact me. Confused pissed off look on my face. Delivery ahole- "I'm sorry I read your sign but I don't have your number" Why in the hell would I put my number on the sign for solicitors?! 1030 comes around and I'm getting another bang bang bang on my door this time it's a guy from southern touch, notifying me that the roofers will be coming in an hour or so. I have another confused pissed off look on my face and I ask him. Who are you in touch with about replacing this roof?? The landlord?! Property manager?! He replies: I don't know, they just told me to come replace the roof. I immediately contact my property manager and I come to find out that southern touch had emailed them to let them know that they will be working on my house next week, but will get back with them on what day. Southern touch never contacted my property manager after that, to notify them that they were coming this week instead. I've done roofing before, I know the walking and occasionally dropping the hammer, shingles, ex. Happens, but holy shit are they fucking loud!!! It literally sounded like a WWE match was going down on top of my house. Not only have I been hearing "bodies" slamming above me, my dogs have been cooped up in the house all day, because of nails all over the ground and their tarps. I didn't even give them permission to go in my back yard. They climbed the fence to get back there, because the gate is padlocked. Communication is horrible with these peopl Another thing, they also damaged my Freon line. It's pressurized so they KNEW they hit the line! And they didn't tell me! It got below 40 that weekend and I had no heat nor AC during the high 70 degree days they were here. It got up to 78 in my house. Thank god I had an emergency switch for heat!! These guys are a rip off. I have a couple mobile home rentals in Jacksonville North Carolina, and hired them to fix some of the entry steps (wood steps), to the mobile homes. What they did was they did some more screw downs (literally just adding more screws to make it more secure), and changed out three pieces of wood steps and charge me $725. I could easily buy fiberglass steps for $300-$350 each. What a rip off. They even quoted me doing the roofs per mobile home, and we're double if not more than what we are currently paying to have them done. If you're wise, do not hire these guys. I'm a remote owner, so they took it vantage of me, imagine what they'll do to you. read more

It took multiple trips back to correct substandard work and I finally just gave up. They got paint on wood stained trim, in trying to correct this they removed stain The original painter sent to home ripped wall electrical plates from wall tearing and ripping the drywall. Multiple visits to correct this but they used sparkling let it dry and sanded the area but didn't cleaning sanding debris off walls and then painted over the debris, leaving the walls feeling rough like sand paper. They pressure washed my brick home and removed mortar around the windows. They painted the outside trim and also paint the red brick white. They fixed this with a large edge of white caulking to fix the missing mortar and paint on brick. When pressure washing they didn't remove screens so debris fell to bottom of window trapped between window and screen. Multiple trips to try to fix the walls in house They also got paint on curtains and cellular blinds and blankets and floors. Aggravated beyond words because some room had original paint on walls and no damage till they applied their experienced painters skills I hired them because if I had painted I would have gotten paint on wood trim. We just had a new roof replaced by this company. This is the second project that we have had this company do for us. As with the first project, these roofing employees were as friendly, polite, professional and one could sense a real sincerity, that they do a good job. The job was reasonably priced and performed with a high quality of workmanship. At the end of each day, our yard and all debis was cleaned up. My wife was impressed with the foreman, Andrew, each day and especially after the first work day when I could not be there, Andrew would ask my wife if she was satisfied and did she have any concerns. We are very pleased with the employees and quality of work performed by this company and look forward to the next project of painting the exterior of our house. As someone who has seen the work that has been done for my immediate family members and friends and also as someone that worked here I do not recommend them for anything. There's over a dozen or so other companies that are going to treat you like a customer and not $$$$. They hire and fire individuals so quickly that there is absolutely no way they are hiring qualified people over a quantity of individuals. The maintenance department has to reschedule multiple things a day, hear complaints from paying customers, and set up quality checks on work that has been done. Roger is overly proud of "coming from nothing to look at what I made outta nothin' here" and really lets every single person he's around know about how hard he worked to get where he is and basically just asks to be drowned in respect because he owns STP. My child got sick as most 18 month olds do in daycare on occasion and I was going to be less than an hour late to work so I could drop her off with family and go back to work because I was training for the maintenance coordinator position, but even with AMPLE notice before work had even opened, I let Shelby know that I was dropping my daughter off with family because she was sick. Shelby did not even have the decency to respond and instead had Roger fire me through a text. The day prior, Shelby had praised me and told me how well I was doing and learning things most people don't pick up quickly and the following morning I was being fired by her Dad because "I wasn't a good fit for the company." Pretty sure thats not a legitimate reason to fire someone because they have a sick child and will be an hour late to set up care for them. That being said, I am the ONLY woman in that entire staff that has a child under the age of 20 years old. I only took the position after Roger stated to me during the interview that he's "very family friendly and understands how kids need things". Not sure how other companies work, but it's extremely unprofessional to talk to the ENTIRE office staff about how many men you have to fire and who you're firing by the end of the day. If you want to hire someone that brags about how often his phone goes off and he ignores calls for power washing because "the money isn't there" and he wants to focus on other work besides that then you can expect a long wait to have work done on anything. I will be telling my entire family from Jacksonville to Beaufort that I wouldn't use STP for anything. If you want workers relieving themselves in your yard, coming back multiple times for small jobs, and not being able to get in touch with the proper person for days on end then give them a call. Don't even know how they're still in business. You can tell when you walk in by the office staff photo that only 2/10 or so people have been in the office longer than a year and are still even employed there. They are always hiring office people. Worst job I've ever had and hands down will never utilize this business for my own home owning needs. Constant stressful environment with swearing and gossip about how slow the other girls are in the office. As an adult, I don't see the productivity in making other people feel like crap. Grateful to lose employment at this company and won't be having any family use them for anything after hearing about the quality of work that's been done for most. Terrible place to be. read more

Attempting to work with this company was so stressful I probably earned a few more grey hairs in the process. No one in that company knows what they are doing or who is working on what. The owner will never get back with you, but he sure will post motivational quotes on facebook about building "a great company." First off, practice what you preach and be more involved in your company. They will take forever to get a work order completed or try to take the credit of other vendors who do the work that Southern Touch won't get done in a timely manner! And some-if not all is shoddy work. Could have done better myself with some mud and sandpaper. Would have been cheaper too! read more

Me and my husband recently used Southern Touch to do quite a bit of work for our home. Starting in the office, all of the girls I spoke with were a extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The estimator came and helped reassure me about their company. Once the estimate was sent we accepted immediately and they were able to get us scheduled relatively fast. We had them paint both the inside and outside of our home, replaced flooring in 2 rooms, and had some miscellaneous maintenance work done. The painting of our house looks absolutely amazing! I couldn't be happier with the paint job. All of the painters were so sweet and seemed like they genuinely cared about what they were doing. They took such amazing care of my home. The flooring we chose was a little bit pricey but they were able to work with us on pricing. The flooring person was awesome! He let us know he was actually one of the maintenance guys and would most likely be the one completing our maintenance work as well. He made us feel extremely comfortable, comfortable enough to leave them for a few hours with our 3 dogs. The installation was pretty quick and looks phenomenal. We had the maintenance guys install some wood shelving in a few closets and they are absolutely beautiful! It makes me never want to leave my closet. Everyone from the office to the employees in the field actually seem to love what they do which always makes me feel better. After all of the work was complete we went in to their office to finish paying where we met both owners Shelby and Roger. These are by far the best owners I've had the pleasure of meeting and they genuinely seem to care about their clients and their employees. I will absolutely be recommending them to everyone I know! I told Roger and the employees that time was important to me when they gave me a bid to paint my house. I was told my Roger that they could come out the next week to paint the house. After I put down the deposit for paint and several emails later I was given a date halfway through January. I'm still emailing them trying to sort it out with no reply's from anyone in the office. STP was one of, if not, the most painful experience as a homeowner! I spent $10k on wood floors and when they did work for me they damaged my floors! In an attempt to repair, they made them worse! We took pictures and asked for the owner to come to the house. He led us to believe he would but sent different employees in his stead. Another came and attempted to repair our floors. AGAIN this only made them even worse! Still no owner only another employee to contact us but I was done at this point! Acting like he, the owner, would come by, to our surprise when the doorbell rang, you guessed it; another (different) employee apologizes for the damage and said he'd let the owner know the floor was damaged beyond STP'ing ability to repair. I failed to mention this was during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The initial damage was done mid-Nov! Another attempt to send some paint specialists to look and repair floor but I wouldn't have no part. And still no owner visit! Now it's January and they are asking for our remaining balance! I don't think so! We had to tell them to pay for our floors before we paid balance. We also identified (2) needed touch ups from their painting done on our building/house. They messed our invoice up 3 different times which we had to tell them the correct balance! They gave us a check for an estimate we provided by floor specialist and we then paid the remaining balance. Oh they never did come back to paint our building where the paint is peeling off due to them painting before a rain storm! Yes you heard right, with incoming rain, instead of waiting, they attempted to paint hoping it would dry before it started raining. Well it didn't and it was a mess. They had to power wash it and repaint it! Totally exhausted dealing with STP and will NEVER do business with them again. You've been warned! No one ever inspects their employees work. They show up, leave, and the want their money! You'd think someone would come behind their workers to inspect their work ensuring the customer is happy. NOPE! Every last bit of what I just mentioned is the honest to God's truth so help me God! read more

I recently had my roof replaced and exterior window shutters installed by Southern Touch Painting, Maintenance and Power Washing Company. I'm not an easy person to make recommendations unless someone is worthy of it; and, not an easy person to please when I'm having work done on anything that I own. With confidence and great pleasure, I HIGHLY recommend this company. This is the first time I have had any work done by Southern Touch and prior to contacting them, I did some research. I also talked with friends that had had work done by them and I heard nothing but good things about their service. My wife was in constant contact with different personnel in their office building, and EVERYONE she was in contact with, were always courteous , very professional and went to great lengths to help us out. Since these repairs were due to Hurricane Florence, I had to deal with my insurance and multiple adjusters that were needed to check out all the damage that our property endured. I therefore had to get the original estimate received from Southern Touch changed "numerous" times and each time they were always accommodating to provide us with what we needed. As stated on their website, this is a "family" owned business and I can tell you from our dealings with them - they treat you as such. Shelby, Shelley, Sierra, Christine and Savannah, whom my wife was in contact with multiple times, was always treated with courtesy and professionalism and never once was she given the indication that she was a bother whenever she contacted them for anything. The crew that came to my house to replace the roof and install the shutters were very professional and courteous. When they were done, the workers cleaned everything and left my house as clean as it was when they started. During the work being done Mr. Russell Joyner came to check out the status of the work and inspected the work again after completion. Mr. Joyner is a true professional and extremely knowledgeable in his work. I can tell you that before they complete a job, they will make sure you are happy with it or they will make the necessary changes for your satisfaction. Next month, Southern Touch will be returning to repair my two bathrooms and hallway; damage also caused by the hurricane. If I had not been happy with their service and work, they would not return for these repairs. We have had many people telling us how great our roof looks and have asked who did the work. Again, I only recommend professionals when they are worthy and Southern Touch is worthy. Give them a call, you will not be disappointed. read more

I recommend you use anyone other than Southern Touch Painting. We choose them because of all the great reviews, but the painting of our home quickly became a nightmare. I have waited 4 weeks to post this review to make sure the emotion was gone and this is an accurate review. The job was to paint every room in the house, except the laundry room and bedroom closets. Unsure about what sheen was best for our house we asked for a recommendation from the company. The painters showed up and explained they were using an easy to clean eggshell, when in reality they had flat paint. On the first day the painters went into the garage to get a fan, they went into the master closet to get a vacuum. They also used the kitchen broom for cleanup. After, this I took the next two days off of work since I did not feel I could trust them in my home. During the job they complained to my wife about all the nail holes in the walls and how long it was taking to repair. Within a week of them finishing the job both bathrooms needed to be repainted in eggshell since water stains flat paint. They did this at no cost, but I did miss another day of work. When I asked why they used flat over eggshell I was told lots of people use flat and it touches up well. Four weeks later I have retouched the paint two times and it looks great as long the sun is not shinning on it. The only real way to fix this is to pay a different company to repaint what Southern Touch Painting painted. read more
