12/25/22 Update. My issues have still not been resolved. On 12/5/22 I spoke with Joseph, an Officer is Operations, who said that the soffit repair couldn't be completed because the salesman (who left the company) only made a verbal agreement which will not be honored. I was told they would get back to me in regards to the contractor having me Zelle him $200 to fix the wood under the windows. I have not heard back yet & have filed a BBB complaint. read more

On April 4, 2022 I was approached by Southern Industries salesmen about having new windows and gutters installed. They gave me an estimated 4-5 weeks for installation. It wasn't until August when they finally got me scheduled. There were two occasions when they texted me and said they were coming to install them the next day after the text, however, I was out of town on both occasions. If they had set up a scheduled time at least a week in advance, I could have made sure I would be in town. This is the way this company functions as I have learned. They will show up at their convenience, without much notice and if you are not there, you will not see them again for months. The windows were installed in August, but the work was not completed because they did not have everything they needed to complete the job and also said they had to go to another job. The caulking was done poorly and there are large gaps which allow water to get in and get behind the windows(4 out of the 8 windows have gaps). The project supervisor has promised several times to come out and finish the job, but he continues to not show up at the scheduled times he has set for me to be home to finish the work. It is over a month(close to two months) since the windows were supposed to be installed and his persistent failure to finish the job is unacceptable. Customer service is extremely poor. The office personnel are unable to get in touch with their service techs/supervisors and can not help you. I am very sorry I went with this company. I am extremely disappointed in the service and concerned about the underlying damage being done to my home with rain getting in through the gaps left around the windows where the caulk is missing. 9/29/22 read more

While we didn't use this contractor, the salesman who came to our door was really polite and knowledgeable. He wore a badge and drove a lettered van and seemed very professional, and practiced social distancing. If we needed gutters I would have given him a try. He was a week too late! read more

I spoke with someone to set up an estimate for gutter guards. They asked for a time that my husband would be available for the appointment. I politely let them know he wouldn't be available. Got a call to confirm the appointment the next day and they said "just confirming your husband will be present for the appointment." I told them no again and they proceeded to push that with gas prices and having someone come out 2x was not cost effective and that they ask for only 2 things - 45 minutes of time and husband present. Once again, I was more direct and told them he would. Not be present and was not needed. MI hung up and called main number to which I was told "they legally have to have both husband and wife present." I then cancelled the appointment. It is insulting, rude and disrespectful - it's 2021 who thinks this is an appropriate way to do business by being so demeaning to women? Then, I received a 4th phone call to reschedule the appointment- when I recounted my experience I was told "I have never heard of this happening before." Three different people stated the same thing about needing my husband to be present for the appointment, this is obviously a standard practice for the business. Way to go to top on another insult. I got my windows in 2018. They seem to be decent, I even posted a five star review at the time. Good luck getting any kind of warranty service. I have been trying to get a broken window warrantied (lifetime warranty?) since Oct of 2018. The guy who was "handling" my problem has stopped responding to calls and texts. read more

Called and made an appointment with these people. They never showed up. When I called to find out where they were they claimed to have called me twice. My phone log showed no calls from them but some third party marketing company had tried to call me numerous times without leaving a message. Only thing I can figure is this company is a complete scam. read more

Southern Window of Charlotte installed their Gutter Guard (K-Guard) product on our house. The gutter overflows in 3 places. I called numerous times about the problem. After several months they promised to look at the situation. They never came. More calls to service and sales. The original installer came and screwed a vertical piece of metal to the gutter. This causes the water to run down the side of the house and is an eye sore. The same model home in the neighborhood installed the Premier Product and has no problem. Spend a few bucks more and have something that works. read more

My husband and I moved to NC and we needed gutters. Southern Window & Gutter did an excellent job, and we were very pleased with their performance. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. First they are over priced but I was willing to buy the best, expecting the best service. WRONG! They scheduled my install and called me to tell me they had to reschedule after I already took off work. I'm in sales so days are money and I can't just walk back into an office when I have cleared my calendar. They tell me it's due to weather and they weren't able to finish another job so my job had to be rescheduled. This annoyed me but I understood weather was out of their control. They rescheduled me again. Again I took off work and lost money. Again they called me to reschedule the morning of...in fact about an hour before they were supposed to show up. This time they told me they didn't receive the materials to complete my job, also a weather related excuse. This time I was furious. How dare you schedule an installation and have me clear my calendar when you aren't prepared to do the job. I asked for my money back and was told I would get a phone call back from the owner...Clay Spivey. Which I did...this is where things went from bad to a nightmare. He spent 20 minutes arguing with me, telling me why I was wrong and it's not his fault the weather delayed the shipment. True. But it is your fault that you run a business that schedules installations you aren't prepared for. He wanted me to reschedule yet again. I refused and demanded my refund. He said i would get it after a lot of arguing and told me to have a blessed day in the rudest way...you know the southern FU. Over a week later, no refund and he calls me back again!!!! Wanting my business again...this time he continues to argue with me. I said we agreed week ago that you would process my refund, he corrects me on the date. Tells me his people tried calling me the day before and my voicemail was full and starts questioning why I don't clean out my voicemails. This is how you ask for business??? Telling your customers how they are wrong, not respecting my time and never once...NEVER apologized for the inconvenience. If they do not process my refund shortly I am calling a lawyer and if Clay Spivey or anybody else calls me from this company I'm calling the police and filing a harassment claim. OUTRAGEOUS!
