Dear potential guests. The southernmost beach reaort is a bold face LIE. i am currently staying here and we are 1 1/2 blocks from the BEACH. In addition it is the PUBLIC beach!!! The room smells moldy and looks like MOTEL 6. Avoid if you can!!!!!!! On the southernmost Public beach we are smashed in like a sardines. We ended up renting a car and going to another larger public beach with a great restaurant on the beach an outside shower and restrooms . For a fee of $700 per night you too can enjoy this Motel 6 and included is a Rooster that will wake you up at 5am every morning!!!

Giving a solid 4 stars. Honestly its much easier to list what could be improved. And considering…read morethis environment, I can only think of a couple. 1. Hot Tin Roof Restaurant. The breakfasts for the price taste dismal and lower quantity. 2 eggs bacon, toast, and chopped potatoes a bit over $20 as most other dishes plus smaller sizes if you just want a donut or similar. The vibe I get is for breakfast this place is for guests who have a hotel package that includes free breakfasts. They also charge a 18% mandatory "service charge" and of course another line for the tip. We didn't do dinner here. I hope its better than the breakfast. 2. We booked under The Edge Chase Sapphire Reserve so its $100 property credit and free breakfasts for 2. When you consider "service charges" tips, taxes, and determine what the credit can be used for, it becomes a bit confusing. I know for a fact that laundry is not included, neither is the $50/day valet parking. Sort of an resort advantage to keep the guest guessing. Drinks food, spa i know are included with the $100. The valet guy was cool and informative. Considering the small island size and the cost of everything, this was a great stay. The room and balcony overlooking Malery Square plus the ocean and Sunset Island were fantastic. I have stayed at many locations over the years and this was by far the best. Pegasus on Duval is a dump. Both Hyatts are nice but on east side of the island so transportation becomes an issue. Do you really want to drive close to Duvall....if you can find a space, then pay for parking? This place is 2 blocks from Sloppy Joe's, Hogsbreath, next to Malerly Square and sunset pier. Walking distance to the hot spots at night.

Rooms are nicely decorated but not what you expect for $1000 a night. They are way over priced for the quality. Front desk staff is terrible. Don't know how to handle issues which you will have plenty. We didn't have AC 2 out of 3 nights and they didn't even feel bad about it. They said basically it is what it is and we have to deal with it. One night they moved us to another room and they were acting like they were doing us a favor. It was major problem for us. second night they moved us to our room which has broken AC And gave us boxed fan to cool off. Front desk manager is clueless and don't know how to handle issues and he has kids working for him who do not know how to handle anything. They are like teenagers. I would never ever stay there again and warn anyone not to there. Oh you will wake up 5am because of dumpster trucks getting the trash and it takes like 20 min. Another thing is their damn roosters , they start 4am and won't let you sleep. Jesus, it was 3 days of hell!

We were so excited to find out there was live music every day at the pool, only to be disappointed when most of the time it was not that good! They also allow locals/ non guests to come in which we heard several times while we were out from people and it was proven true! The bar/restaurant hours were so odd and it closed pretty early for being the only food in the place! Do not expect early check in or late check out- they do not accommodate this even though they text you to ask when you will be arriving! We only had someone clean our room once during the 6 days we were there! We ended up bringing our own trash out everyday, finding someone for toilet paper/towels, etc! This trip was for our honeymoon and it was just disappointing to spend so much money to get the bare minimum!

Island House used to be the vacation destination for us. This was our first stay since the remodel…read moreso it's been a few years. OK, where do I start? I'll start with the positives and then get to the negatives and rank them in order. Positives: 1. The palm trees and lush vegetation. 2. The decorations for pride and their 50th anniversary. 3. The food is still reasonably good, although the prime rib came out cold. 4. The rooms have been generally remodeled to be more modern. Negatives: 1. The room is cool in the morning, warms up by late afternoon, is hot by 9 PM, and doesn't start to cool back off until 2:30 AM. 2. The bar staff plays Spanish music only all day until you ask the front desk to have it switched to English to which the bar staff takes offense. 3. The bar staff is more interested in watching the FIFA soccer tournament than actually waiting on any guests. 4. The further you went back into the room away from the front door the weaker the Wi-Fi signal got until there was no signal. 5. The soap dispenser leaked onto the towels hanging on the towel bar below it. Instead of having it fixed, the towels were put on the floor. 6. The gang shower between the gym, indoor Jacuzzi, and steam room area smells like sewage. 7. The sitting area above the stairway and at the end of the hall next to room 210 is covered in and reeks of pigeon feces. See attached pic. Although the front desk and management are responsive, it used to be that these things were taken care of without guests needing to point them out or request they be fixed. Not sure if it's due to staff turnover and/or management turnover but hopefully this review will be taken seriously and help future guests as we will not be coming back anytime soon. My overall rating is a 1 because the negatives far outweigh the positives in importance for the price you pay. And when prices are raised, you would expect the service level would raise as well or at least stay the same, which, in this case has not. Please remember that you're in the HOSPITALITY SERVICE industry. This is basically lipstick on a pig.

The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, and Nick made it even better by offering us a complimentary breakfast, which was a lovely surprise. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable--perfect for a relaxing stay. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink that truly set the tone for a tropical getaway. One of the highlights was the pool area--it's stunning, with a great hot tub and plenty of space to unwind. We especially enjoyed having our complimentary breakfast poolside, which made for such a peaceful and enjoyable start to the day. A special thank you to Dina, the concierge, who helped us plan our day and recommended a visit to the Key West Butterfly Sanctuary--it turned out to be an unforgettable experience! Also, the resort's free shuttle service to downtown was incredibly convenient, and Jackie, the shuttle driver, was so friendly and helpful. Overall, this resort offers exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and thoughtful touches that make your stay truly special. The property has a bar, café, concierge, and a small restaurant serving breakfast. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure. We also enjoyed having pool access. The pool was definitely the highlight. It is saltwater and has separate adults-only and children's sections, which was a huge plus. The pool attendants were wonderful, and the pool manager did an exceptional job. Their service is the main reason I would give this hotel three stars instead of fewer. Unfortunately, housekeeping was very slow. Our room was not serviced until around 4 p.m. most days and was not serviced at all on Sunday. This was especially odd because housekeeping staff could be heard speaking loudly in the hallway very early in the morning. We also had one very uncomfortable experience at the hotel bar. A heavily intoxicated gentleman was yelling racial slurs while another woman played country music loudly from her phone. The bartender was alone, and there did not appear to be any security support nearby. We left immediately. Ironically, we had planned to attempt a little ghost-conjuring of our own one evening, given Key West's spooky reputation, but our plans were quickly interrupted by the very drunk man in the lobby yelling racial slurs. It was certainly not the supernatural encounter we had in mind. The hotel does have beach access, although we avoided the beach because of the significant seaweed issue, which was not the hotel's fault. Overall, Casa Marina has a beautiful pool, comfortable rooms, and a convenient location, but the housekeeping delays and bar incident made the experience feel inconsistent.

The one I'm writing about is more of the grounded/foundation/building kind, and on my recent trip down to Key West I had a pleasant experience at said establishment. My travels were with a handful of coworkers as we escaped the NY cold to get some Florida sun. They had come to The Galleon two years prior and stayed in quite an odd and anything-but-enticing room. Luckily, adding me into the mix gave the need for an upgrade to one of their larger quarters that faced the marina. We walked in and there was some awe to our reactions. Maybe it was all the negative convos I had overheard about their previous place, but this was quite the space (too much rhyming?). Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a spiral staircase, a kitchen and dining area, and a breathtaking view (complete with balcony). We kept those balcony doors open most of the time just to really drive in that balmy feel. Beyond our rockin' room was the pool and beach area. Well, the pool was exactly as stated (a pool), but that beach? It was more of a tiny, sandy spot with a few chairs and no real waves. Hey, it was a way to get into the ocean and there was one of those floating wooden docks you could climb up on so it had that going for it. The rest of the outdoor area included a deck with plenty of tables and lounge chairs as well as the majority of this exterior section: the tiki bar. Hanging out back here really let the laid back Key West feeling sink in. So why not five stars? Despite the beauty of the room, by the third day, you could notice some wear and tear in spots that took away some of that original luster. Plus, it should be noted that The Galleon is really more of a timeshare, so housekeeping isn't an everyday occurance (we learned the hard way when we ran out of towels). Staff is also few and far between, but we ran into no big issues so this wasn't a problemo for us. Overall, The Galleon does deliver the essentials for a relaxing time when in Key West. You've got everything you need right there (including a nice happy hour special at that tiki bar) and a short walk away from the bustle of Duval Street. My coworkers are planning a return trip in two years and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be shacking up again aboard the ship...er, um establishment that is The Galleon.
