This place is a scam. I have been going to "Cherry Creek" modern dentistry for years but when I recently moved into the area I thought I would transfer to this location. My first appointment was a regular cleaning and the dentist (sorry forgot his name) told me I had 7 cavities and periodontal disease. Not only that but they told me some of my cavities were so bad that I needed a total of 2 and a half crowns. All this work totaled almost $6,000. I take good care of my mouth and something seemed off so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. This new dentist confirmed I had 7 cavities but that they were all minor and got them filled with no problem for less than a few hundred dollars. As for the periodontal disease, the new dentist said my gums are fine and I don't need the expensive mouthwash prescribed by Southglenn Modern Dentistry. These days it seems some dentists are out to pull one over on you thinking you will trust them and hand them your wallet so they can take advantage of you. Dr. Nevin Sebastian is amazing! He listens to my needs with my sensitive teeth and is very gentle. Explaining everything as he goes. Wonderful dentist! 5 stars! I love the hygienist Tara. I haven't had dental insurance for a few years & the only way I can afford to go now is with Southglenn Modern Dentistry's prices. Even though it's affordable, I couldn't ask for a better dentist. Very unhappy with Dr. Sabastian's care of my elderly mother. She was kept in the chair for over 5 hours and very little attention was given to her physical needs. The office had my number and did not contact me regarding the extensive work they were performing. My mother was very confused and felt pressured into having more work done than she wanted to. I have had a root canal and multiple fillings, and this is the first time in my life that I have experienced pain free dentistry. Not only is Dr. Langley great but Ivona and Page (Medical Assistants) are fantastic in their precise, careful, and gentle work! These two ladies make your entire time at the dentist stress-free which makes you want to keep coming back! I have gone to Southglenn for a total makeover so to speak .. and every time I go there .. I am SOOOO happy with the service I receive!!!! I had a small crown procedure today .. and (the face that it took 1.5 hours from start to finish .. made it AMAZING) the service was fantastic!!! The Doc .. Dr. Langley is fantastic .... and his staff is incredible ... my assistants were Ivona and Pooi .. what great people!! As I sat waiting for my crowns I had a great conversation with both of these ladies!!!! I recently scheduled an appointment for a regular check up/cleaning. I had neglected getting the dentist in the previous two years, so I was a bit nervous as to what I'd find out. The staff was very nice and walked me through everything as they worked. The front office even came back and ok'ed the procedures with me prior to the work. They found one cavity during the cleaning/X-rays. It was my first so I was bit nervous about that, too. I called a few days later to have the cavity filled. They quickly got me scheduled to come. They performed the filling and everything went smoothly. The one thing I'd say I wish they did was walk me through the whole procedure prior to starting since I had never had real dental work done. They did this during the previous appt, so maybe I was just expecting it :) Everything went well so it wasn't too big of a deal! The dentist and assistant were super nice and did tell me a few of the things they were doing at the time. After they were done, they sent me on my way and said to call with any questions or concerns! After a few days, I felt as though my bite was off a bit and my tooth had a bit of discoloration. I called and they got me in that very same day! They fixed everything and were extremely friendly the whole time. So far, I'm happy with everything! First off, I don't have great teeth and have been to 5 dentists in the last 10 years working on them. I have never been treated as well as I was in this office. The Dr Sebastian was willing to listen to all of my concerns and what I actually wanted to happen in my mouth. He then gave me a full exam and we decided on a course of action that we both agreed on. Dr. Sebastian is wonderful. He has that air of calm that I imagine would be so appreciated by nervous patients. My 14 - year-old is one if those nervous patients, and he recognized her need for nitrous before we had to ask. There are never any surprises with what procedures are going to happen. They have also been so easy to work with regarding financing. I had my doubts about the "doc-in-the-box" sort of practices, and had horrible experiences at "Comfort" Dental, but we have been coming to Southglenn Modern Dentistry for 4 years with great results. Worst place ever! I joined Yelp just to warn others about this place. Do NOT go to Dentist Kyle O'Donnell. His chair side manner is poor but what is even more profound is his complete lack of skills and knowledge. He did work on a tooth and it didn't even last 4 weeks. Then when I had to go back and sit there in the chair for another 2.5 hours while he tried to get it right, he said "well, I won't charge you this time" and I thought no shit you idiot, why would I pay you again when you couldn't get it right the first time not even 4 weeks ago. I asked that my money be refunded and I was advised that they couldn't do that but they would give me a credit for future dental work...AS IF I would ever return. Told them that I had no desire to reschedule with Dr O'Donnell and that I wanted to be compensated for the time that I had to spend coming back (not to mention the pain). They told me that they would credit my credit card a mere $50...THAT WAS TWO MONTHS AGO!! Unbelievable! I haven't found another dentist office yet, but I will because this place couldn't pay me to ever return. Over priced, way over-rated and overall extremely poor quality. Dr. Sebastian was wonderful, unfortunately I have moved out of state and can no longer go to him. He was the one person that found I had high blood pressure, even though I had been going to the Doctor and it was high they said not to worry. Dr Sebastian told me to get to the Doctor, by they time I could get an appointment I had a stroke in my eye - from my blood pressure. My dentist visits were painfree, reasonable and when I went in to get my partial he noticed that my jaw had lost bone since I was fitted for the partial. He suggested another doctor visit and my osteopenia had gone to full Osteoporosis, which I am now on medicine for thanks to him. He saved me from a lot of medical problems while he fixed my teeth! The office staff was great, always friendly and helpful. I am sad I am no longer able to go here. read more

First the positives: The staff was at first very nice -- especially Dr. Sebastien whom I still really like. They were able to get my son in for a possible emergency with little notice, which I appreciated. They were such a step up in terms of friendliness and cleanliness compared to our old dentist office (Perfect Teeth) that I was initially sold. Then I took my kids back in for a check up and cleaning. We were there 2 1/2 hours for something that should have taken an hour at most, but I won't quibble about that too much. Everyone was nice enough though not too concerned with how long it was taking. Then we had the exam. They initially seemed put off that I wouldn't agree to the tooth sealant option right away. It wasn't even that I said no, I just said I wanted to think about it and see the cost estimate. Then the dentist told me my daughter had "weak enamel" on one of her teeth. He was really vague and I wasn't even sure what he was talking about. He said a filling was only a temporary solution and he really recommended a partial crown. I was wary because I knew crowns are pricey so I said it depended on what it would cost, especially if a filling would suffice (even if it wasn't "ideal") I think they hate that phrase "I need to think it over". Everyone was noticeably cooler to me after that. Then the dentist disappeared and some complete stranger barged into the room -- I called him the Enforcer -- and started flashing spreadsheets on the computer screen. It turned out that while a cavity was covered by my insurance, the partial crown was going to cost more than $800 out of pocket. When I said that that simply wasn't an option for us, at least then, the guy wasn't like "oh we can fill the cavity, no problem" --- I'm still not even sure it was a cavity, actually -- instead he started talking financing options and some kind of "charitable discount." When I interrupted him to say I thought the whole thing was elective, he started hemming and hawing about how it was the doctor's best recommendation, but they could do the filing instead if I insisted. In fact, they could do it that very day if I'd just sign here. By that point, though, I was already pretty suspicious of them, especially when he said the problem was that we didn't have very good dental insurance. We're lucky to have very good dental insurance which generally covers necessary procedures. Anyhow, everyone was very cool to me from that moment on, like I was the worst mother in the world. The hygienist came out and starting barking at me about how my kids' gums were "completely rotten". They tried to push me to stay and have all the procedures done that day, but by that point I had a terrible headache and just wanted to escape. Before I agree to any additional procedures for my child, I'm going to get another opinion. It makes me sad because as I said I liked their practice initially but left all bummed out and having to explain to my daughter why we couldn't pay for this thing for her which I'm still not even sure what the point was. read more

Get a second opinion! My first visit as a new patient went as expected, including a checkup and x rays. However, when I came back a few months later for a teeth cleaning, things changed for the worse. After the cleaning was done, I was told, I needed $7000 worth of dental work, especially crown replacements. Of course, all that "needed" dental work awoke my suspicions. Especially after my wife was told she needed some crowns too. My wife, who brushes twice a day and flosses every day, was told out of the blue that she needed two crowns. This suspicion made me go get a second opinion. My current dentist told me that had a couple of spots we needed to watch for the future, but all that work I was supposed to have, was NOT needed. read more

My husband just went to Southglenn Modern Dentistry in June 2012. He had not been to a dentist in 8 years, due to lack of insurance. THEY DID NOT EVEN PROVIDE A TEETH CLEANING. They took xrays, oral/facial images (which were not covered by our insurance, and this was NOT communicated to my husband), and did an oral evaluation (Dr Rodgers). What dentist doesn't clean your teeth? We are so appalled with the service provided, that my husband will not be going back. He will drive the extra 10 miles to go to my dentist, which is near my work (instead of our home). Fancy technology does not make up for lack of service. Stay away from this place. read more

Worst experience ever. Went in for a routine cleaning took almost 2 hours. Then they said I have gum disease! I go to the dentist every six months and have never been told this in my life. Then they refused to give me a regular cleaning and charged me more to scam my insurance. They tried to bring stuff in the room and tell me I needed $700.00 in dental work which is what my wife was told also conveniently. This was nothing but a sales scam and wasted a lot of time and money. Do not go here whatever you do. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRACTICE - ONLY INTERESTED IN SELLING YOU THINGS THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY YOUR INSURANCE. My daughter went here 2 times and each time they took Xrays that were not needed and were not covered by insurance. Pushed fluoride for an adult who doesn't really need it and again, it is not covered by insurance. Also charged for "hygiene instruction" REALLY?? Telling someone to floss more is not "instruction", and ... it's not covered by insurance. Charged $800 for a 6-month cleaning with Xrays, over $200 was not covered by insurance. Just because they're sweet and smiley doesn't mean they're honest and reputable. read more

I went into SGMD to get a small chip in my tooth fixed. First you are put into a small area and someone tries to go over procedures with you and it feels like they are trying to sell you a used car and not something you want to experience before a medical/dental procedure. When they brought me into the room to look at my chip they started talking about how Ceric would be the only option for me (it really seems like they are CERIC pushers the way they advertise it in the office). I asked them for literature and asked them a plethora of questions regarding the procedure. It was my understanding by the pictures and the answers that I was given that they would take approx 1/4" section out of my tooth and add a new piece in. After agreeing they numbed the area and started drilling away. As I was sitting there I noticed that it seemed like the procedure (drilling) was taking a long time so I asked them to stop. Once they stopped I felt the area with my tongue and THEY TOOK MOST OF MY TOOTH!!!! This was insanely disturbing since they were only supposed to take a small section! I gave the dentist a disturbed look and asked him what the heck was he doing. The dentist gave me a "Oh Crap" look and started explaining in a worried tone. With nothing I could do I told them to finish. I called to voice my complaint to the head dentist and at first he was agreeable until I mention that I should file a complaint then said he had no choice in the matter. Now I have a poorly done CERIC procedure where I feel a ridge and the tooth feels unnatural that I have to deal with for the rest of my life. I don't know about SGMD other clients but I prefer to have as much of my original teeth as I can. AVOID AT ALL COST!! read more

I should have listened to these reviews! I went in for an initial exam and cleaning. The dentist obviously recommended an extra expensive cleaning, crown and overlay but that wasn't even the worst part. I went in for the second time for my cleaning since they couldn't even do it the first time I went in. The hygienist gave me a shot of novocaine to fit me with the crown. This should have been a red flag since they had not even done the cleaning yet and she was a hygienist. I immediately felt dizzy and nauseous. They told me it was from the epinephrine but I have had dental work before and never had this effect. I did not feel well and decided to leave feeling that that shot was not done well. Once the shot wore off I ended up with immense pain in my mouth and all the way up my face. I ended up having to have Dr. Sebastian write me a script for a pain killer in order to even get to sleep with the amount of pain I was in. Through this entire experience he never once apologized even after admitting that she had hit a nerve. I called to see if they would even just allow me to start over with a new dentist to get an exam and a cleaning since they had already billed for the exam. I was told that that was impossible. They are unethical, unprofessional and dangerous. Please save yourself the pain and hassle and find another dentist. read more

I've been to see Dr. Beaty twice now and both were awesome experiences. Personality & excellence are both very important to me and Dr. Beaty has a good combination of both. She was kind and sweet, and she seemed happy to be there and see me. It is clear that she knows what she is talking about. Last time she had to fix some bonding on one of my teeth and she did an even better job than the dentist who had originally done it. She took her time and made sure it was perfect because she knew how important it was to me. I feel like I've finally found the dentist that I rely on. I'll be going back for sure. read more

I'm pretty picky about my dentists and doctors and I love this place. The staff up front is friendly even when I forgot an appointment and had to re-schedule. The staff in the back is super nice and efficient. And Dr. Langely is great. I've been to offices where you don't even see the dentist at each appointment so its a nice change. They also give you the fees up front before any work is done so you can accept or decline things like the fluoride treatments. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

They did a great job of reminding me of my appointment and of making sure I was able to fill out the patient forms via computer prior to my appointment to lessen my wait time when I arrived. What a great experience at a dentist! I came here only after another Dentist gave me some really bad advice. I was scared and in pain they got me in to see Dr. Sebastian the next morning. The entire staff was caring and very kind. They understand how to deal with TMJ and patients that are in a lot of pain. After the X-rays and calming me down he gave me the correct diagnosis and walked me through what needed to be done without hiding anything. This has by far been the best experience I have ever had with a dentist and I have since switched my entire family over to them. Worse worse place ever!! My journey with Dr. Sebastian started with my wisdom tooth removal. The day of my surgery I was really nervous and I felt the dental surgeon injecting anesthesia and more, he started to pull out my molar (it was a stubborn molar) so i could see him struggling with my molar and then started to wobble my molar from side to side until finally my molar was out. I was sent home without any post surgery instructions. The pain from my surgery never went away, it was a horrible pain in my jaw that projected to my head(brain) and there was a horrible smell inside my mouth. Of course, I knew something was wrong, so I called Dr. Sebastian and told her that I need to see her stat. I went to the clinic and she told me everything was fine, she could not see anything wrong and she just rinsed my mouth and that was it. Every single day the pain was worse and worse. I called back to schedule another appt as I read on the internet that it could be a dry socket. Dr. Sebastian checked me and told me everything was fine. All this pain was normal!. After being 10 days in extreme pain, finally I went and paid another oral surgeon and he found out that I had a terrible, horrifying dry socket (it was between my gum and cheek) that was the reason of my terrible pain. I called Dr. Sebastian to let her know about the findings (she never called back). After being in treatment for 2 days for my dry socket, I started to feel something hard stuck in my gum with my tongue and started to pull it out. I went back to the surgeon and he told me it was part of my jaw bone. His words were "you had a horse not a surgeon the day of your surgery". Dr. Sebastian and her staff are only there for the money, not for the patient's care or well being. read more

I usually hate going to the dentist , however this experience was not bad at all! It was my first time ever going to another dentist being a daughter of a hygienist . As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a friendly smile. My appointment was prompt and on time. After sitting down and answering a few brief questions, I met Dr. Sebastian. He gave me his recommendation and we were on our way. My procedure was short and painless. Because the chip on my tooth was so small the assistant even came in the room to tell me that the price has dropped. It's nice to go to a facility with a caring and honest staff! On Wed. Sept. 29 I had my first appt. at this practice. I had called 2 weeks prior to set up the appt. and was told they would send an e-mail to fill out my medical history. That e-mail was sent at 9:30 am the day I had my appt. at the time of my appt. Needless to say, I was at the office. I then was told to fill out the history on the computer in the lobby, which I did but when I went back for the exam it somehow wasn't available. The technician who did my x-rays was new so had to repeat several of the slides. The next room was where I met the dentist (Dr. Manzo) who seemed quite nice, but did no part of the examI had that day. The mouse in the exam room wasn't working so each person who came in groused about it and this took more time. When the girl came to do the cleaning and polishing she was very good and explained everything she was doing thoroughly. However, to the tune of many hundred dollars (minus the coupon flyer I had received in the mail), it was 12:00 when I finally was finished with a cleaning and the x-rays. I came from a dental practice which I had used for many years and have never spent 2 1/2 hours for the procedures done that day. The technology they use is great, and I was impressed by that, but they need to know how to use it read more

I have since been told by the office manger that, yes I was correct and the doctor did not offer me antibiotics as, she had that she had accused me of lying because I wanted drugs. Then after having my partial fit horribly I call to make an appointment to have it adjusted because the receptionist cannot look at the schedule over the phone and would need to call me back. Almost an hour later she tells me that today the doctors were not in the office that day but they could see me Monday. Conveniently this happens to be the next business day after they are due to take $ out of my acct, by the way it was there. Then I look at my account and somehow my charges got changed to 3 payments to 2 payments adding an extra 40$ plus. I call the office the next day, when I was told "no doctors would be there" but am in initially put on hold because the receptionist is with a patient. Wait... I thought no doctors were there when I called to make my appointment, this proof they wanted their $ first. Then when I question the office manager's math she tells me I don't have to be rude. Well if they do it the way they are currently are there will be an extra 59.00$ left over... What do they want to like send me to collections or take it out of my account when I'm not expecting hoping to cause a problem with my finances? Seems awfully shady, and by the way I'm not rude I just have a math degree and a mother who is a CPA and CFO, so don't mess with my money because I pay attention. About 2 weeks later I get a dismissal letter from the practice because "I am not a good fit". But they will continue to be my doc for 22 more days.... Guess what? That is when the second payment comes out, how convenient. Plus I wrote this review which the office manager was really pissed about. It's the truth so they can't do anything. I really liked the office at first, but when my appointments started to last hours (7 hour was my longest) b/c appointments were booked on top of each other I started getting annoyed. Then when I started paying attention to my EOB's I realized that I was over charged, hundreds of dollars and when I talked to the office I was told they for got to bill items and would resubmit them and magically everything matched up price wise, but when I login to my insurance online it shows multiple times that Southglenn is submitting claims for things multiple times for payment from my insurance. When I went to another dentist for a second opinion I was told my teeth are not horrible like I was told at Southglenn and that I did not need the work they were suggesting I needed. My insurance told me that when I was going in for work Southglenn was billing them for cleanings when I was not having cleanings done, so my next cleaning would be out of my pocket b/c the way Southglenn billed them. The turnover in staff is huge, the work is done in a shotty manner and they over bill for their work (just watch your EOB). The dentists are nice, but they are only in it for the money and not truly helping people. read more
