I feel like dentists are a love/hate. I recently had an appointment for my cleaning just like my past experiences it went great. They call you because lets face it, we make these appointments way in advance, so their calls are a wonderful reminder to get to your appointment. I get to the place and the two ladies, one I think is Alyssa or Marissa, is always helpful and friendly. It does not take long after check in to be seen. I was extremely happy to see a new face in the building. My hygienist greeted me with a warm smile and was very patient. She was new to the building but she has SO much experience in the field. I was super happy to see she was going to me working with me. She was gentle and clear during the cleaning, which is a harsh experience for anyone, but she did amazing. She answered all my questions relating to my gums and prescribed me with a mouth wash to help with the healing. Thank you for all that you do! read more

I am never going anywhere else again! These people are awesome! They put a crown on a tooth I've been waiting 20 years to get fixed, it was so painless, fast and easy, I couldn't believe it. They were able to make my permanent crown here and cemented it in immediately. Then I had a recurrence of a vestibular issue and became extremely dizzy. They took care of me and even went out and cleaned the snow off my car! My daughter is coming to get me and is bringing someone else to drive my car home so I cannot say enough about them! Also they have never once complained about using my dental insurance, like some other places I have been. read more

I went in with a tooth ache. I was told they would need to take X-rays, clean my teeth which ended up being a "deep cleaning" which had never had done before, needed a crown replaced & a root canal. I told them (I made it VERY clear) I didn't want to have ANYTHING done until they checked my insurance company on my coverage. They went over what my insurance would cover & how much I needed to pay out of pocket. I paid for those expenses that day & the day before my root canal. They also said I needed 3 other crowns replaced two were cracked & I had a cavity. I said the others would have to wait. When they had me sign for the root canal they charged me 2 charges in "the event" the oral surgeon had to perform or use two extra "procedures" if he didn't then I would be refunded. As I was leaving they told me he only had to use one & I had a credit that I could use later because Care Credit liked to have a "higher balance" for you to use it. I had my crown out on two days later because the temporary would not stay on. They made an April appointment for X-rays & an appointment for another cleaning in May. Dr Lam said she would only "warrant" my crown if I got my teeth cleaned every 3 months. I also found Dr Lam rude along with being abrasive & rough. I'm on social security & my insurance covers $2000. a year for dental. They used all of that in January & February. When I left my appointment the early February visit I supposedly had a credit balance. I got my statement from my insurance company the end of February. The amounts I paid out of pocket for procedures they said my insurance wouldn't pay they billed my insurance company. (The price they charged ti my insurance company was tripled) I call it double dipping & fraud so does my insurance company. I canceled my April appointment since I would have to pay out of pocket. 3 days later I get an email bill (after 2 months of walking out of the office with a credit) saying I owe $437.00. I got a paper bill 2 days after that with the same amount I "supposedly" owe. I called Southglenn Modern Dentistry. They claim to have no one in office that handles billing. I said well let me talk to the lady that went over what my insurance would cover, not cover & what I would have to pay up front to have cleaning, nitrous, cap & root canal. She said she could answer my questions but she couldn't tell me why I owe the $437. She said they really don't have anything to do with the billing they have a revenue center in California that handles their billing. I asked for that number & she claimed not to have any number for them. Who doesn't have a number for their own billing service? The bill I received had no other number on it except the office number. I asked how & who I was supposed to discuss this bill. She did not know! I told her that this is ridiculous and i better not have anything show up on my credit report for not paying a bill that I have no idea what it's for nor is there anyone I can talk to about the bill. I told her if that happened I would sue them! She asked me to hold and never came back on the line. I called back an hour later I was once again put on hold & never picked back up. I called again later in this afternoon...same! I'm going to post this review, contact Better Business Bureau & Channel 7 news. Maybe they will then find their Revenue Center's phone number and someone can explain how in February I have a credit balance but now owe $437.00 especially since they checked with my insurance on what they would pay & collected up front what they wouldn't cover. This is a criminal organization masquerading as a dental office. Long story short, they told me I had 8 cavities and needed a root canal. The total price would be $8k. I got a second opinion and he said I had 2 cavities and I needed a filling replaced; total price $1,400 of which 70% would be covered by insurance. Giving someone an unneeded surgery should be a criminal offense. I wish I read these reviews before making my appointment. Lesson learned. read more

My husband and I have been here three times and will be changing our dental insurance so that we can go back to our previous dentist. Southglenn will up-charge you every moment they get. My husband has amazing teeth because he takes such good care of them, and they tried to tell him that he should switch to a cleaning every four months instead of six. They couldn't explain why when he asked. Dentist offices should be a place where you can go every six months to ensure your mouth is healthy. You shouldn't have to feel like you're going to a salesperson who is going to try to sell you something in the name of health. People whom you call "Doctor" should not be able to use that title to sell you treatments you don't actually need. I don't trust this office's business ethics and will not go back. read more

SIX MONTH CROWN DISASTER & LIED TO ABOUT ADDITIONAL WORK NEEDED!!! I went in back in August of 2017 complaining of pain after I had a tortilla chip stuck under part of my gum in the very back of my mouth. Turns out I had to get part of the gum removed in order to fix the problem. At that point I was told I needed a crown on that tooth. I hadn't had a cavity since I was a child but took them at their word and got the procedure done. The ONE DAY crown turned into a SIX MONTH nightmare!! When I went in to get it done I was told I would have to come back the next day to get it completed, despite the fact that they advertise one day crowns all over their office. I have a two year old so I had to find another baby sitter to get the final one fitted. After a day or two I complained about discomfort when I bit down so they told me to come back in and get it adjusted. This was a complaint I kept having; I would get home and it wouldn't be fixed so I would have to call back and set up another appointment to have it adjusted. Every time I had to go in I needed to find a babysitter so this was frustrating. One time I went in to get it adjusted and also get my 6 month cleaning. At this appointment they took X-rays and proceeded to tell me that I had periodontal disease and several additional cavities, one that was so bad I needed another crown put on. I paid extra to have the gum cleaning to address the periodontal disease and also bought the expensive medicated mouth wash. They then adjusted the crown again and sent me home. I called back later and let them know it wasn't fixed. So once again I went back in and the dr showed me THE SAME X-RAY from my last visit and said that the crown they put on had an open margin and it would need to completely redone! So instead of telling me that when I went for my cleaning they ignored that and told me that my other teeth were in bad shape and I needed more work done... I didn't want to continue to go to this dentist but because I had already given them almost $600 and didn't want to have to pay another dentist to fix it, I went back to get it fixed. I had the second procedure done in JANUARY after SIX MONTHS of going into their office almost on a weekly basis. Finally a different dr was able to get my crown done correctly...it still did not happen in the one day that they advertised btw. When I left I was told to schedule an appointment for my other crown to be done. Finally done with that dental disaster I went to Comfort Dental to get my next cleaning and a second opinion on what was going on with my mouth...guess what...ZERO CAVITIES AND NO Periodontal Disease! Southglenn Modern Dentistry scammed me and tried to get me to spend a lot more money on work I didn't need! I am left wondering if I ever needed the first crown now that I know that they lied about all the other work I needed. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

Totally agree that this office feels like sales office not normal dentist office. I've been going here for a few years now, and my experience has been largely positive. The staff is always friendly, and scheduling appointments is never a hassle. The dentist and assistants are good at answering my questions and keeping the experience pleasant. I had to have some fillings done, and while that's never a fun time, overall they made it as tolerable as possible by being quick, making me comfortable, and keeping me informed along the way. I have moved to Denver 3 years ago and have yet to find a dentist that I liked. I came as a recommendation from a friend to get a few crowns. thought the office was nice and clean. the staff at the front desk we friendly and helpful. I received a good cleaning and came back a week later for the first crown. Process was simple and the crown feels good today (day after). The whole experience with Dr. Fazel and his assistance, Abigail, went great, they were both friendly and I felt like I could trust them and their opinions. NO SERVICE ORIENTATION. I have been a regular patient at this office for 5 years and when the new owner arrived all dimensions of service have evaporated. Changes appointment at last minute, when I did show up NO ONE was at the front desk with another patient waiting as well and 2 phones ringing non-stop and obviously ignored. When I expressed my concerns the "owner" and office manager wanted to argue and took no responsibility for the poor service and aggressively accused me as the one who had unrealistic expectations. It has become clear to me that they are focused on add-ons and creating anxiety for unnecessary procedures not patient centric care - lost all trust in this practice. read more

Update: After writing the review below, the staff reached out to me right away to make sure that I was ok. It made me feel much better that they took the time to check up on me. So disappointed with this office. I originally came here to get a cleaning and it took over an hour to do just that. I later came to get a filling done and couldn't chew on that side of my mouth for two months because it hurt too bad. I was unaware that this wasn't a normal experience but it had terrified me of ever having a filling again. When my health care changed, I went to a new dentist and they told me that I needed to have the same fillings re-done because they hadn't closed the filling all the way so my cavity continued to get bigger, almost like I had never had it done. I was absolutely terrified of having that kind of pain again however after having it done with a new dentist, I realized I was in no pain whatsoever. Update: My initial experience (below) was very good and I do like how they handle insurance. However, after about a year my husband and I were both told that we needed quite a bit of work done. After $2k out of pocket, we decided to get a second opinion. Our new dentist was clueless as to why those services were recommended to us. We switched dentists about a year ago now, and Southglenn still won't transfer our records despite repeated requests. Dr. Johnston and his staff were exceptional! They not only took good care of me, but were very friendly, gentle, and answered all my questions. They were up-front about what costs would and wouldn't be covered by insurance (and how much they would be out-of-pocket) before the work was performed. I would highly recommend them! read more

My husband and I have both had issues with this offices accountability. Recently my husband's veneer cracked and he was told insurance would cover a replacement and that the process would take about two weeks. It is almost a month later and the only thing the gal in the office could say was that she was sorry. He can bite into food, has had to completely change his diet to accommodate his temporary veneer, in addition to the embarrassment of the temporary adhesive turning black and blue so he doesn't want to go out or smile at people. He experienced these same issues when he got the original veneers last summer. This has caused him much undo stress that has leaked into all parts of his life. Don't trust these guys - they're expensive and don't look out for their patients best interests, let alone assuage their patients concerns when things go wrong. read more

Horrible experience with this place and lack of communication between the staff led to my wife and I never going back here again. Dr. Evanston (Evanson?) was completely unprepared and couldn't even be bothered (nor could his assistant) to review my wife's record to see that she had anxiety issues and was already prescribed Valium by a different dentist at a previous visit. Said Valium was taken before her last procedure, only to be smugly told by this guy that "she isn't coherent" and that he "wouldn't be able to communicate with her" during a simple, non-anesthetized EXTRACTION. The way this Dr. and his assistant talked to and treated my wife is completely unnecessary and immediately soured us. It's a shame too, because the rest of the staff and Dr. Beatty are great, but the vile treatment that their Oral Surgeon displayed was enough to lose our entire family's business. So, if you need an Oral Surgeon, you could probably find a more comprehensive one on 16th Street in the alley and they'll probably treat you better too. read more

I am not a fan of going to the dentist. As a result, I skipped this necessity for three years. When I finally went back it was pretty much the most miserable cleaning ever, but Southglenn Modern Dentistry made it as painless as possible. I saw Dr. Sebastian (their only provider on the Aetna DMO plan, if anyone needs insurance specific information) and really liked him-- he was very thorough but made me feel comfortable at the same time. Everyone from the office staff to the hygienist was friendly, and I feel like I got very good care here. It turns out I'm a total baby in regards to dental work, and they were patient with me about it, so that was nice too. They did try to upsell things a bit, but they weren't pushy or unreasonable. They happily let me talk to their insurance/billing guy to determine my insurance coverage and how much I'd have to pay out-of-pocket so I could make an informed decision, both health-wise and financially. My price for a regular cleaning, x-rays, filling and a antibiotic flush treatment was very reasonable. It also seems like they're a bit slow-- I had to wait quite a bit before either appointment started-- but on the other hand, they were able to do my filling the same day I found out I had the cavity, and that was very convenient. I'm now a faithful every-six-months-dentist-goer, and I'll go back to Southglenn Modern Dentistry for my next visit. read more

The staff and team are nice people, but be VERY careful about getting any kind of filling work done here. They have no idea how to properly account for or administer numbing agent, don't consult you before hand, don't communicate any part of the process to you, leave you sitting alone in the chair for 30-40 minutes without explanation....the list goes on and on. Start to finish I was in the office 2 hours with another hour lost to being blind in one eye from the numbing agent and not being able to drive. All for a simple filling. I recently wanted to switch dentists for a variety of reasons. Im pretty picky when it comes to these types of things, and it took me a good while to finally choose this office and try them out. The main thing that got me in the door was knowing that in the future I was going to need to get a crown or two...and I really did not want to have to do a temp crown for 1-2weeks again. The thought of getting my perma crown in 1day was a huge appeal for me. So for my first appt I went in for a regular cleaning. Unlike my old dentist, a good portion of my cleaning was with the Doctor himself (Dr. Langley). Hes very nice and easy to talk with. He reviewed the xrays that they took and looked over my teeth and made some suggestions that I already knew would be coming at some point in time (a new crown and replacing some large silver fillings with onlays/composite). The good thing was, that instead of telling me what HAD to be done, it was all suggested. He also gave me the option that if I wanted to replace some on the silver fillings, that he could do a composite filling instead of an onlay (onlay is very similar to a crown and much more expensive than a composite). I decided it was a good time to bit the bullet so I set up my appt for a week later to get 2 large silver fillings replaced with composite and 1 crown - a 3hr session. Well, today I had that appt...and im very pleased with how everything went. I try to be a good patient, but im pretty skidish when it comes to dental work due to past bad experiences. However, everyone from the person who checked me in, to the several nurses that helped assist the doctor to Dr. Langley himself were very friendly during the whole process. Near the end of the procedure, before they were about the put the crown on, my Novocaine started to wear off. As soon as I told the nurse that I was feeling what she was doing and it was uncomfortable, she got Dr. Langley to inject me with a small amount of Novocaine to tide me over until everything was complete. Now, 7hrs later, the only discomfort I have is from the shots in my gum - everything else feels great. I can bite down just fine and ate my dinner without any issues at all. Overall a great experience. I set another appt for a couple weeks later to replace another large filling, and feel more than ok with going back here and recommending it to others. Its a great place. The staff is very friendly and the technology they use is amazing. Very glad I chose to switch dentists, and that I was able to find this place. read more

PSA WARNING - unless you want to spend a couple weeks in the hospital with a brain infection- stay away from this dental office! Their only interest is in gouging you out of the most money they can! They care nothing about your teeth or your health. I went for their new patient deal of a teeth cleaning for $59. I saw Dentist Sol Kim, who after an initial ck of my teeth told me the cleaning would be $550 because I had deep pockets on 4 teeth. when i wouldn't pay that, he got real annoyed and told me there was no point in cleaning the rest of my teeth then. I had already been there in their freezing ofc for 2 hr, so he begrudgingly agree to do it. 'But he didn't actually clean my teeth- he used some sort of water pic that sprayed my whole face (he didn't even wipe it off when he was done) and went around each tooth with it. I talked to another real dental hygienist who said you can't clean teeth without scraping them- he used no tool other than the water. So he basically forced the bacteria from my mouth up into my gums, which then went into my blood stream and straight to my brain. I was furious when I left the ofc with the treatment he gave me, but now I'm even more so. Dentist like him have no business being in care of people's health- he only cares about making a buck! I had not been to a dentist for over 10 years, so my comparison to any previous dental work has to be something of a very distant memory. Any review of experience at the dentist has to be pretty subjective, since a good percent of the evaluation depends on the patient's ability to cooperate in the process. I think it must be pretty hard to work with unwavering perfection on a variety of mouths of all different sizes and conditions with varying reactions to the struggles of individuals who are wide awake and having to deal with the inevitable discomfort. I was impressed both with the carefulness of the work done on me and the patience with which they dealt with my hit-and-miss efforts to keep my mouth open and hold still and let them do their work. Aweful! Told me I needed $340 cleaning and $140 rinse insurance would cover the rest. I stated I would not be doing the special cleaning and thought it was very expensive all the sudden as I was leaving they offered to take $200 off. The whole experience felt like a fishy up sale. read more

Pros: - easy to schedule appt with lots of availability (unlike my previous dentist where I had to schedule at least 3mo in advance) - nice, clean office - latest and greatest technology - friendly staff (a little too friendly) Cons: - Start to finish I was there for 1.5 hours for just a routine teeth cleaning, not even any x-rays -- that's way longer than I normally spend at the dentist for a routine cleaning - I was very suspicious when the dentist called me into his office prior to the cleaning to discuss my concerns, etc -- this can be done in the exam room -- that was a waste of my time and I felt like he was a salesman trying to get me to admit I hated the cosmetic appearance of my teeth so he could then make some money by selling me some teeth whitening or something - the dentist spent way too much time trying to chit chat with me and be friendly -- I'm not there to make friends -- just clean my teeth, damnit! - the hygienist casually said in passing, "you wanted the fluoride, right?" Then the receptionist came in and tried to get me to sign something agreeing to all the charges -- I noticed fluoride treatment was on there and not covered by my insurance -- luckily I declined, but that was very sneaky of them (I've never had another dentist in my adult life offer me a fluoride treatment) - The hygienist tried to get me to buy the $120 electric toothbrush they sell there when I told her that my current electric toothbrush only cost $20. She said that was probably the reason my gums bled (I'm sure it had nothing to do with that sharp metal hook in her hand). I've had at least two other dentists in the past tell me that the scientific research shows that the reason electric toothbrushes work better is usually because of the timer (forces people to brush for a full 2 minutes), and the quality is not correlated with the cost. Granted I haven't looked up the research myself, but I think this hygienist was full of crap. If you choose to go to this dentist office -- be very suspicious. I think they're more into making money than providing quality dental care. I will not be returning. read more

Dr Johnston Was wonderful and he has left this practice. Dr Sebastian tried 2 times to get a partial for my Mother to fit and even claimed the first time they broke it while making it. The third time the form they took in office was unusable. i wrote a very nice letter to him pleading to remove part of the $2100 charge from the Care charge card that was set up under. GE CApital. No Answer. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! He is cumbersome in your mouth and did not look for the sore spots until told when tring to fit the first partial that he gave up on. ugh.... Dr. Nevin Sebastian is amazing! He listens to my needs with my sensitive teeth and is very gentle. Explaining everything as he goes. Wonderful dentist! 5 stars! I love the hygienist Tara. I haven't had dental insurance for a few years & the only way I can afford to go now is with Southglenn Modern Dentistry's prices. Even though it's affordable, I couldn't ask for a better dentist. Even when I had the best insurance with my corporate job, I haven't found better than Dr. Sebastian. You won't 'hate going to the dentist anymore.' :) Enjoy! read more
