Can't rate anything but food. Ordered from here twice for pastrami orders. Both times I had to say that I was disappointed. Maybe I picked the wrong bread lol. Pastrami was dried both times. Maybe I needed to add more cheese on my order so it would melted away cover meat while it was toasted. It came warm and nice wrapped. I would like to try the dip though. It's been a long time since I tried this Togos. The counters have been lowered, there are digital kiosks to order at, so the ordering experience is much improved. They also actually put (some) salt and pepper om the sandwich this time, which is an upgrade from 5 years ago. However, this Togos still somehow makes the most bland sandwiches. I asked for mayo and mustard, but the sandwich had very little of either. Even the avocado here seems less flavorful than other Togos. There is now a worse sandwich spot in Alameda (Rose's, which has absolutely zero flavor whatsoever) but I believe the other sandwich options are all notably better than this. So this is still the worst Togos, and the second worst sandwich spot in Alameda. read more

I stopped by the Togo's on Broadway in Alameda and want to be fair ,the service was good. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was fine. But the Turkey Avocado sandwich I ordered was a major letdown. I ordered a large, which came out to about $16, and it literally had two slices of turkey on it. That's not even a normal serving for an adult. For most of the sandwich, it felt like I was biting into nothing but bread. I'm really not the type of person who goes out of my way to complain. I don't eat out often, and usually I just take things how they are and move on. But this was honestly so disappointing that I felt it needed to be said. This is my automatic go-to for a sandwich in Alameda when I'm pressed for time. I use the Togo's App and order, then go pick it up. They have a parking lot that's never full, so it's easy to get in and get out. My sandwich is usually ready on-time. Maybe I had to wait a bit near lunch time. Togos is a consistent delight...it's the highest quality of all the "fast" sandwich restaurants (eg Subway, Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's et Al.). The bread is soft and delicious and their standard mayonnaise has a zippy tangy explosion. The produce, meat and cheese is fresh and savory. I used to live closer in fruitvale so it was the closest/most convenient location but even though I live farther and have other locations closer, I still come to this location in alameda. The guys here are always super friendly and really happy and it shows in the sandwiches. I've never had a bad order and they always accommodate custom orders. Standard Togo's I suppose, I've actually never been there. I only ever use DoorDash to buy a sandwich from this place, but I have a nostalgia for these hot melted Italian subs that are common where I grew up in Pennsylvania and every once in a while I order the hot and melty sandwich from Togo's because it's pretty close. The name of the sandwich is "Hot and Melty Italian" and then it has two different sections where it gives you the opportunity to answer again "Do you want this hot and melty or just regular?" And every time I can see from the receipt I've selected hot and melty. I do my very best, especially with DoorDash to be really explicit in my instructions as to what I want and what I don't want to make it easy on people to be successful in their food prep. It is strange then, But I got an ice cold sandwich delivered to my house and I don't mean like a sandwich that has been cooked and then has gotten cold. Is the result of being driven 15 miles. This sandwich has never been cooked. If you examine the provolone you will see that. That is a provolone slice that has never melted. It has never been hot and so it's really frustrating and when I'm very hungry and working in my house to order a sandwich and then have it arrive and then have to IKEA my sandwich take it all apart so that I can put it in the oven so that I can take it back out of the oven and put it back together. (So the tomatoes and lettuce don't wilt). So now that I've finished my micro construction project, I'm going to move on with my day but be careful people with your orders. It was either the lemon pepper tuna sandwich, which is only served during Lent, or the turkey avocado (#24). The Togo's in Emeryville was okay. The drawback I had with them was the parking configuration and the difficulty finding a parking space near them. I am glad that Togo's has opened about seven months ago at this location. They currently share business space in this building with Papa Murphy's Pizza. Ambiance: casual and comfy. Paper menus at the front counter. Menu board displayed on wall. Eats: #24 (turkey & avocado on whole wheat roll) for my husband, and a Santa Fe chicken salad for me. Salad had more than enough romaine lettuce and a sprinkling of spring mixed greens with black beans, corn salsa, guacamole, cubed chicken, crunchy tortilla strips and a zesty pepitas dressing on the side. The two employees were friendly and engaging in conversation. The woman supervisor was somebody we knew from years ago at the old location. She remembered us and hadn't seen us in quite some time. (Yep, we're still in the neighborhood.) Return visits? Yes, for the turkey & cranberry sandwich, Asian salad and a custom made veggie sandwich (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, cream cheese or provolone). Free parking in the lot adjacent to the building. Public transportation (AC #51A) is close by - bus stop is in front of the business if coming from Oakland to Alameda via Fruitvale Bridge and across the street if heading in the opposite direction. Togo's makes one of my all time favorite sandwiches, the Pastrami Reuben. I've been eating the Togo's reuben for over 20 years (I miss their rye bread) at locations all over California. These day it seems like most Togo's locations are below average. I'd almost given up on Togo's until I tried the Broadway location here in Alameda. Boy am I glad I did. I was taken back to the days when my high school buddy worked the Togo's in Walnut Creek and piled it high. The pastrami here was juicy and overflowing, the bread was soft but chewy. There was just the right amount of sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. This Togo's on Broadway took me back to my childhood. The staff is great too, always hooks it up with extra peppers and dressing when I ask. Their fresh sourdough is good. Makes me forget about their yummy rye, almost. read more

i went in this past weekend with my mom and ordered a turkey and avocado sandwich. service was alright they were kinda slow when there was only a couple infront of us. anyways, got my sandwich, and we left, started eating it while at home and it tasted funny. took some more bites just to be sure, then had my mom taste it as well and she agreed something was off. i also noticed that they only put turkey at the ends of the sandwich, didn't even bother putting any in the middle, just lettuce and avocado. lo and behold the avocado had bacteria in it being the reason why the sandwich tasted bad. we went straight back to get a refund which took a while (ig they don't do too many refunds) anyways just watch out, if your sandwich tastes funny, something is probably old! read more

This is for a 25 sandwich delivery order. Sandwiches are great, the team had a hearty lunch but then why am I rating only 2 stars? During the ordering process, I selected each chips and cookie to go with each lunchbox because that is how the ordering process goes. However every single lunchbox received Sun Chips and random a cookie, not how we ordered it. It disappointing that my team selected something but received something else. At least their sandwiches were right. We also ordered 25 drinks which came warm, so we had to scramble and pull drinks from other employees so we could offer cold drinks.
