There wasn't a long line when I arrived and once I reached the counter I was greeted. I stopped in around 1pm on a Friday to try their smoked oxtails, which were one of their daily specials. I was glad I arrived when I did, because only a few portions remained. The oxtails were excellent, very tender and well-seasoned. I feel that $35/lb without a side or cornbread included was a little overpriced. In addition to the oxtails I also ordered their Mac and cheese, which was just ok. While the sauce's consistency has improved, I found it still lacked a bit of flavor. Overall I really enjoy Redwood Smoke shack, especially when I'm craving brisket. The Mac bowl was tasty. I liked the macaroni, it was creamy and the sausage was juicy, spicy, and pretty good. I like the outer casing of the sausage. The BBQ sauce was a little sweet and tangy. The white sauce tasted ok, but was super watery. I wasn't a fan of the consistency of the sauce. The bananamisu is a dessert that's between a banana pudding and tiramisu. It was a good portion, but the flavor was a no for me. It should be one or the other, but not both. The corn pudding was good and went well with the bowl. They have a sauce station where you can fix your own sauces. I like that. I would like to go back to try some other things. But I'd get the bowl and corn pudding again. Check them out!!

The overall theme from the outside is definitely of barbecue place. Once you come inside, it has more of a feel as a convenience store. At the back of the store is where you can order food. They have from breakfast through dinner there. My mom was here with me, so we both looked over the electronic menu to decide what we wanted to get. We both decided to go with different platters. My mom decided to go with the Beef Brisket Platter with Coleslaw and Macaroni and Cheese as the sides. I decided to go with the Chicken BBQ Platter with Baked Beans and Macaroni and Cheese. The overall process is pretty easy. After ordering, they give you the receipt to go pay at the checkout counter up front. You just show the receipt that it was paid before you can pick up what you ordered. The platters also come with 4 large hushpuppies and a 20 oz drink (I still only do water). After about five to ten minutes, the food was ready and we headed home to eat. Once we got home, the food was still hot. The food looked good too. It was time to eat. There were a few small serving size bbq sauces in there, but we ended up not needing them. The chicken bbq was really good. The flavor of the chicken and bbq sauces already in it complemented each other well. Although they were a little crunchy, the hush puppies were good too. The baked beans and the macaroni and cheese sides really hit the spot for me that evening. My mom really liked the foods she had too, and I also got to try some of the beef brisket, and that was so good too. It was nice and tender. Overall, this was a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For those that may not know, the business will be closing as of September 1, 2026 as the owners take a well deserved retirement. One thing to note is that some food items will no longer be available once they have finished the current supply they have. The convenience store portion has plans to be rebuilt and will become a Seven Eleven, while the car wash will become part of the Autobell Car Wash group.
