    Pup cups!

Outstanding BBQ Experience! I had the pleasure of trying the kielbasa sausage, pulled pork, and brisket, and I was blown away! The pulled pork was hands-down the best I've ever had--perfectly moist and packed with flavor. The kielbasa sausage tasted natural and had that homemade touch, while the brisket, though on the leaner side, didn't skimp on flavor. To top it all off, they even offer pup cups, which is such a thoughtful touch for dog owners. Can't wait to come back!

There are so many reviews that drew me to suggest to my beau to drop by. The ambiance is friendly and cozy. There's enough seating for groups of people. Service was fast. Thought food needed more seasoning, 3 stars for sure.

First the good. Service was fast and extremely friendly. Great selection of proteins. Brisket had a nice bark and was tender. The bad. Although everything was tender, there was hardly any smoke flavor. The meats were warm and not hot and the bananas in the banana pudding were very brown. It shouldn't have been served. Not a bad place at all. I just wouldn't make the drive for it. In my opinion, Redwood Smoke Shack is way better.

Stopped in after wanting to try Pungo Boys for a while. I opted for the taco special with all the fixings--a couple of brisket and pork, cheddar cheese, slaw, sour cream, and avocado slices with a side of hushpuppies. Their hot BBQ sauce wasn't spicy at all but had good flavor. Everyone was super friendly, with plenty of parking and seating inside. My takeaway looked and smelled so amazing I decided to eat it right there. The pulled pork was great, and I enjoyed the slaw. The brisket left something to be desired; it lacked flavor. I'll give their brisket another chance next time, as consistency is so subjective. The hushpuppies were OK - next time, I'll try another side. Pungo Boys' pork BBQ beats Dave's. However, Dave's brisket is far superior. I will visit again soon and update my review.

We decided we needed to try some bbq during our short stay in Virginia. We stumbled upon Pungo Boys and gave them a try. They are located in a strip mall in the corner. You walk right into the counter where you have the menu and order. You seat yourself and collect your food when they call your name. The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful and I tried all of the table sauces, but to be honest, the best one was their Souse Sauce which was basically vinegar and spices. It was tangy and delicious and packed so much more flavor than you'd think it would. The sandwiches come with a side of coleslaw that was fresh and crisp and also more on the vinegar side of things. It's definitely a different genre of BBQ than we get in Kansas City, but I loved it.

It was a nice sunny day and found myself going for a leisure drive down to Pungo. I came across Pungo Boys BBQ and stopped in for some late lunch. I ordered one of their specials Brisket Mac & Cheese. It was delicious! Brisket tender, Mac & Cheese creamy and cheesy. It was a nice portion where I got to take half to go. The establishment was clean and well kept. The staff were polite and friendly. When we got there, they were already selling out so that's a good sign. If I'm in the area, I would go back.

One of the best meal I ever had! Fast and friendly service. We ordered pulled pork brisket and ribs it hit the spot!

We've had this on our list for quite some time but just haven't been able to check it out until today. So glad we tried this BBQ it is definitely the best in the area. We got the platter which had brisket, pulled pork and pork ribs, it also came with 2 sides and we got the collard greens with potato salad. All the meats were tender and had a lot of flavor. We did also try all the bbq sauces that was on the tables and our favorite was the fire. It had a little kick but lots of flavor, it was delicious. They do also have a kids menu. My daughter got the pulled chicken with a side of mac and cheese she loved everything and actually wanted more mac and cheese. The staff was very friendly. Once we walked in we were greeted. There was also lots of tables available to sit down and enjoy if you don't do take out. While we were eating they walked around and greeted the customers and asked how everything was. We will definitely be back here. I read on other reviews that they do have beef ribs on Friday so we want to try that next time. Be sure to check this local restaurant out!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!!

Pungo Boys BBQ is a local BBQ spot, found in a small little plaza off of Princess Anne Road. Note that this place closes once the BBQ runs out! Their menu is pretty extensive, offering various soups, sandwiches, platters, sides, kid options, specials of the day, as well as catering options. We came here for an early lunch, and we had the following: +Smoked Beef Brisket (Texas Style Chopped or Sliced, we opted for the latter); this was pretty lean, but I felt that it was a little dried out; better with the sauces available +Pulled Pork - the pulled pork was smokey; the hubs thought it was just okay and slightly on the bland side +the Beef Short Ribs Special (came with two) - definitely the favorite out of them all - the beef was super tender, fall-off-the-bone deliciousness, and had a great taste to it; no need for any type of sauces for this! We were also surprised at how meaty and generous the portions were +Mac & Cheese with Smoked Andouille Sausage +Five Amigos BBQ Baked Beans +Red Skinned Potato Salad +Creamy Cole Slaw The sides were just okay, the highlight was definitely the short ribs! Staff were super friendly and welcoming. There is limited seating inside, as this is a smaller place, but there were also a couple of tables outside as well; most seem to get their orders to-go. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +Beef Short Ribs special! +friendly staff! +limited inside/outside seating +parking in shared plaza lot

My visit here was on July 4, 2026. The outside of the place isn't hard to find or see. When you look at it from the outside, it looks more like a tropical type of theme. Parking did seem pretty limited as they were busy when my mom and I got here. Based on that, parking can be severely limited during peak times. Once we came inside, it definitely looked like a tropical theme, which was easy to see throughout the place. Another big thing I noticed as soon as we came in (and remained the case the entire time) that it was excessively loud. It was hard to hear each other, and even our server. I never got over to the outdoor seating area as it was pretty busy. We were greeted by a hostess at the counter and we were immediately seated. With it being busy as it was, our server came over to the table and said she would be back shortly, though it was a bit longer than expected. Someone else came by to ask if we wanted water while waiting for her to come back and we both did that. Once she was able to come to the table, we weren't quite ready to order yet, but I did get the Bay Bloody Mary. The Bay Bloody Mary was good and did have a kick to it, as expected, though more than I thought. It was still good though. After a few more minutes, we were ready to order. I decided to go for The Lesner With a Waffle as the main course item, scrambled eggs, and bacon with Cheese Grits and a Fried Biscuit as the side items. My mom ordered the Jamaican Dark Rum French Toast entree with bacon and a fruit skewer. Given how busy it was, I was surprised that food came out about ten minutes later after ordering. The food looked really good and hot when it came out. I don't normally do a waffle, but that waffle was really good. I only put butter on it as I didn't want to add even more sugar to the meal already. The bacon was nice and crispy as requested. I wasn't sure how the Cheese Grits would be, but they were surprisingly good. The last item I had was the Fried Biscuit. Wow that one was a highlight for sure, though I won't do that one too often. My mom said the entree she had was good too and there were no issues. Overall, this was a good visit. I would give it 3.5 stars but rounding to 4 in this case due to the great food. The biggest negatives were the noise levels, as it was hard to talk to anyone there, and they automatically add an 18% tip for all transactions, regardless of party size. Given the circumstances, the service was good too. I will come back in the future, but maybe not on a weekend or around a holiday where it gets busier than normal. This place is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something to choose from to eat at.

It was a beautiful evening. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. They have a rewards program, so you can earn free chips and salsa. Which is cool. Our waiter was friendly and he made sure we had everything we needed!! They have the 3 for me deal right now. So the prices are pretty reasonable for an entree, starter, fries, and a drink. My sister and I got that, and my friend got the trio app. My chicken sandwich was tasty and a good sized portion. They didn't give to many fries with it. But I think they were free if you wanted more. The bun isn't stable enough for the sandwiches, it always breaks down mid meal. I did like the loaded potato soup with the bacon and cheese. It went well with the chip crumbles. Lol. You can upgrade to a bowl for an additional $1. The smash burger was big. It looked good, and had all the fixings, with double patties. My friends chicken crispers and mozzarella sticks looked good also. She had a margarita that looked tasty, but she said it was a little too sweet. The chips and salsa were uhhh, kinda different. The salsa was thin and soupy, and the chips were also thin. They broke before we could even get it in the salsa. They were free, so I can't complain much. But a thicker chip would definitely make it easier to eat!! The honey chipotle and avocado ranch were delish!! The glasses they serve water in are beat!! My sister had something floating in her first drink. I thought my cup was chilled because of how it looked, but once the sun came through the window , the cup was all kinds of dirty!! We all kinda looked a little horrified, but it was to late. I had already drank most of my water, so I had to just let Jesus take the wheel at that point. I mean they should definitely invest in new glasses. There was a piece of hair on the lettuce in the burger also. Our waiter was nice, so we didn't want to cause him any stress. Because it was so many little issues to complain about, it would have probably overwhelmed him, and he had several tables to serve. But he was very attentive to us. So we were humble AF on this visit for sure!! This is decent food, when you're not trying to spend to much and need something quick. Pretty average. But it's Chili's, so it's to be expected.
