Southside Coffee should be on your list of St. Pete coffee shops to try. Good drinks & food, a cute patio area to sit, and super friendly/ kind workers. It's a tiny store- there's hardly room inside for a few people to stand comfortably but fortunately they have outdoor seating- but that's still only half a dozen or so tables. I tried the Mexican Mocha, as I always enjoy trying "spicy" drinks. This one met expectations, with a little cayenne kick at the end of the sip after a strong mocha taste, it was just right. Their breakfast sandwiches were also fantastic, pretty simple but that's what made it work. They had some other drink options like kombucha or mushroom lattes; I almost tried the mushroom one but just wanted real coffee so maybe next time. Southside Coffee offers some mighty tasty lattes. This was our 2nd time there. Today I had an iced vanilla maple latte & my friend had an iced chocolate coconut latte. Both were full of amazing flavor & totally hit the spot. The interior is super tiny so we sat outside. Sadly we baked in the heat. The one negative about Southside is their hours of operation. They close at 1 pm. That means if you ear lunch from noon to 1, you can never drive here to get an afternoon post-lunch coffee. We would come a lot more often if they were open until 2. read more

This is a very pleasant small coffee and pastry shop in South St Petersburg. It's only 5 minutes from Central Avenue. The limited seating is outside and the atmosphere and service are friendly and professional. The espresso is 1000X better than Starbucks burnt roast but I forgot to ask where they source their beans. Next time! They also have some interesting and unique lattes like Mexican chocolate and French if you like that sort of thing. I'm a pure espresso man myself. I came across Southside coffee and decided to have Coffee Nip and bagel with cream cheese after browsing through the menu. The order was prepared successfully by the owner and I got my order in 5-10 minutes. The coffee was freshly brewed and it was hot and delicious. I went here as a recommendation from my friend who is a local. I am just a visitor to St. Pete and one thing I MUST do on my visits is try out as many local coffee shops as I can. The biggest problem with Southside is that I didn't really want to go visit anywhere else after going here haha. I got the French Latte and it was PERFECTION. (chefs kiss) I loved it so much I came back the next day and got it again. I also bought some CBD honey while I was there but I have yet to try it. The peanut butter cookie was super yummy but so soft it broke apart easily so be prepared for crumbs. The the people who work there are kind and patient and you can tell you know their stuff. That might seem intimidating (at least to me) but they are anything but that. I can't wait to come back and try more of their drinks and food. My friend lives down the street next to this coffee place. She always raves about it so we went on in. It's small but out so charming. There is four stools inside for seating and a couple chairs outside to sit and enjoy your coffee as well as any of there sweet treats. I talked to Sheila for a bit she was so sweet and very helpful about talking about the menu and the bakery items. I asked Bryan who was making the drinks his favorite drink and he said the Mocha so I got that with coconut milk and a extra shot of espresso. I also ordered a spinach and mozzarella croissant sandwich. While Sheila warmed up my sandwich Bryan made my drink. I waited maybe ten minutes as there were a few drink orders ahead of mind but it gave me time to take in the place. It was really so cute and they were so happy it was the perfect way to start the day. My drink was great robust, full of mocha goodness, plus the addition of the coconut milk gave it a bit of nuttiness. My sister was charged for two drinks when she only purchased one, when she brought it up, the owner said "I know" and STILL she charged her for two. Time and time again I'm so dissatisfied with the customer service! I'm honestly an introverted person who doesn't need to have a full blown conversation everywhere I go. And yet, I still get down by the way that when I walk in and make my order, with a smile on my face, I feel like an inconvenience or perhaps that I'm not wanted there at all.
