After stating multiple times that I don't like deep, heavy bangs. I eventually agreed to a photo with a minimal bang and followed it up by placing my hand on my head and saying "ok, but I wouldn't want them to here or anything." She proceeded to give me literally half a head of bangs, almost two full inches behind the line I said was already beyond my comfort zone. Right before it was done, I was getting increasingly anxious with the plan and she challenged me with "what is your body saying?" I responded, "it's screaming no..." to which she quickly responded "well, I have a full body yes and I'm gonna go" and seconds later it was done. It wasn't that my communication was unclear and I'm still baffled why I didn't stand up and walk out, I've just NEVER been coerced by a stylist like that before! When I went for a repair haircut the new stylist heard my story and said, "let me guess, an Adeline?" Apparently she is know for this type of behavior, believing herself an artist who knows what you want better than you do. In the week since I've heard from several other's who were treated similarly and felt stunned into submission. I am going to regret visiting her salon for well over a year while this grows out. I got a great cut here. I have really thick, curly hair. Even though I requested a straight style cut, she made sure that it would still look good if I wore it curly, which I didn't ask for, but I reaaaally appreciate! I asked her some product questions, and she recommended some products that she doesn't even sell! So I knew I could really take her advice. Two reasons it gets four instead of five stars: When she was done, I asked her to make my bangs just a little shorter, and she took off about 1/2 an inch, when I was thinking more like 1/4 inch. So they were a little awkwardly short, but it's partly my fault for not being really specific. The second reason is because the location is not super beautiful. It's defintely nice, but it doesn't feel like a luxury. But I suppose that is maybe why the haircuts are only $30!

But I was surprised by my negative experience when I went for a lash lift. When booking, the website lists the price as "starting at $60". Understandable, I figured there would be additional charges depending on what services you choose. No where in the booking process was a final price listed, nor was one provided to me when I arrived for my appointment. After my appointment, I discovered I had apparently be assigned a high level lash tech who would cost double what I had been expecting at that $60 price. When I sent an email to the manager, uncomfortable with the sudden switch up, she wrote me and admitted that they only had one lash tech at the moment. So no one was ever going to get the $60 price listed on their website - every single person who booked would be paying that higher price, without ever being told this was the case. Not only is this bait and switch illegal according to the FTC, it's just plain crummy business practice. Too bad, since all the ladies working there seemed lovely. If you go, just practice good Buyer Beware strategies and be aware a fast one might be pulled on you.
