I'm from out of town so maybe my expectation is a little different? So three stars for me means they gave me crooked French lines. Don't get me wrong I would make myself have crooked French lines but that's why I go to a nail salon so I can pay somebody else to get it straight. My other little annoyance is when I get a pedicure and they don't try to cut the nails right or get the ingrown out with the special little steel tools. Besides that: the place seemed clean enough, the prices were OK (not a awesome deal or anything), and the service seemed typical. From the initial phone call to see if they had availability to our walk in the door the receptionist was amazing. Think of how important the first impression is this lady made it, outstanding!!! My wife and mother in law wanted nails done before the wedding and they fit us in and then asked if we would like something to drink and went above and beyond what I have seen what anyone else has ever done. I had my nails dipped then went on vacation thinking my nails would look great. Turns out the first day one popped off, then the next day another popped off, by the 3rd day I'm missing 5 nails. I called and they told me to come back in yet could not accomodate the one day I had home before I left again on a 2nd trip. Really unprofessional workers and owner. If you have an issue with their service they laugh at you and blame YOU for the bad service they provide. Also they are really nosey about others lives and choices, bad practice and behavior. They do not own up to their actions and have lost business from my family and friends. Worst mani and pedi I've ever had. Total waste of time and money. Within 30 minutes of leaving, despite having sat under their dryer lights for an extra 20+ minutes, both the mani and pedi are ruined. At no time did the lady use lotion on my hands or do any kind of massage and hands are now visibly dry. I chose a light natural color of polish and it went on uneven and chunky, even after two coats. One of the other workers came over and looked at and said to me that I chose a tricky color of polish. Ok, how am I supposed to know that and why do they offer it if it doesn't cover? As if it is my fault and it's ok to blame your customer. She took over and told the other lady to brush it on lightly and had to four coats and sent me to the dryer for ahalf hour. As soon as I left and touched anything, it was wrecked - Dented and mushy. She spent very little time on my feet and the end result is they are not smooth, visibly un-moisturized and the polished is also smudged All of the prices on their printed cards are wrong and they just have a little square of paper stapled to it saying some prices have increased, but they don't say which ones or what price they have changed to. A regular mani and pedi was $50, and I regret the tip I left on top of it. Needless to say I will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone, super disappointing. read more

I just moved to the area and was excited to find a new nail salon and finally get an acrylic fill with gel polish on top. Not only was it a very unwelcoming environment, it was very awkward hearing the employees bicker between eachother, and one of the workers doing nails at a different station wouldn't stop talking about herself. Sounded very conceited and uninterested about the client she was working with. Not one employee tried to make conversation with me or even seemed to care I had an appointment. The fill took well over one hour, the nail tech cut me twice, so I was bleeding the whole time with no apology or assistance, and my nails turned out horribly. Not the color I asked for, my cuticles not taken care of, and acrylic all over my skin surrounding the nail. No cuticle oil or lotion was offered to me. This is a very unprofessional salon with terrible customer service. I cannot believe I paid full price for this experience and had to go home and fix them myself. I will not be going back and I do not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

This nail salon was okay. The staff was nice. I had a male manicurist/pedicurist. Not the worst manicure ever, but not the best. My cuticles are getting a ton of those hang nail things around the nail bed and the paint job was alright. I had previously pre-filed my nails to be square like how I like them and he rounded them out too much. I wouldn't. Next time I come to Duluth I probably will not return. I came here based on reviews and I wasn't disappointed . I came in earlier than my apt. And got in after a short wait. I did ask if I could get a pedi along with the acrylics. And they did just that. I did receive both and during my pedicure one of the ladies went around with a tray with food and beverage on it and asked if I wanted a snack or refreshment. Plus tvs everywhere. Definite plus! Came here for the first time. Love that they're open on Sundays. I called ahead to make sure they could get me in and they had an opening in 90min. Spent 4 hours for a s&s manicure and pedicure. Nail technician did not give me her attention. She was more focused on running the business then my appointment. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and told to pick out my nail color as usual. I then sat there for over 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time without being acknowledged again. Customers walked in and got acknowledged right away. One employee did notice this and took me in, even though she was extremely busy. Stopped in at VP yesterday with a friend and left very pleased. They aren't blowing smoke when they say they have the best ventilation in town - it smells like they aren't even doing nails which is in a word, awesome. Sam did my acrylics (with gel polish) and took a lot of care to make them as close to perfect as possible. She was able to do them in a specific shape too which I'm always afraid to ask for in Duluth as I don't feel we're really "cutting edge." Lastly, she somehow managed to be pretty quick! Also, her nails were gorgeous which is notable because usually nail techs don't have great nails. My friend got a gel mani and hers looked just as good and she said her tech was just as meticulous. I would not recommend this salon. Past times have been fine but today was AWFUL. They were extremely busy. Even though I had made an appointment, I had two people working on my hands, and one of the two had three customers at once. That being said, I was getting a fill and so many things went wrong. The man doing my nails nearly scratched my diamond wedding ring three different times with his sandpaper like tool/nail buffer. Each time he filed my nail he was filing skin off my other fingers. He even caused me to bleed twice and didn't apologize when I flinched. On top of it, he tried to paint a gold line under my French manicure, which was so sloppy and uneven. I asked him to take it off. The owner said he needed to keep my nails under the UV light for 2 minutes. He did for 40 seconds one hand and 30 seconds on the other. I walked away with sparkles all over my nails because he didn't take all of the enhanced gold line off as I asked, and my nails are already coming off in some areas, when I literally just left my fill. They made me pay extra for the gold line which I had them take off, and they didn't apologize or care to offer anything in return. Go elsewhere. Keep in mind I've always been a good, and high-tip leaving customer. They don't seem to care. My nails aren't smooth either, there are visible bumps and ugly blemishes. read more

My most recent experience was not the best. Very disappointing due to the fact that I usually love this place. The prices are reasonable and their work is typically good. Today however, my nails turned out cheap looking. I paid for a full set of gel and the angle of a couple nails look completely uneven. The nail tech also pointed at my nails and laughed hysterically with her coworker about my cuticles..... made no sense to me as to why she did that. I stopped in to get just a french manicure on my plain nails. No gel, no shellac etc. My nails are really frail. Apparently they're seemed to be some discussion amongst the young bossy lady and the old lady that did my nails (all in Viet). Like this wasnt allowed, they tried to push gel, or whatever. It costed me $29 (i left a small tip bc I felt sorry, she was old). The pricing sheet was apparently incorrect and the young bossy lady said it was wrong. She charged me $3.00 higher for each thing for manicure, then french on top of whatever is listed on the menu. The old lady that did my nails seemed clueless and kept getting bossed around by the younger lady. Then she was only going to do one layer of the tip and when I asked for a 2nd coat again speaking in Viet again, - all this discussion. My nails had bubbles, french manicure did not have clean lines, it came off the next day. Such a disappointing, rude, poor customer service. Oh then literally halfway thru my manicure- it was interrupted so I can pay for it bc my nails would be ruined if I paid after. WTF she was literally in the middle of my mani so hmmm let me get this straight, that wouldn't ruin my nails?!! I would never return here. read more
