I've been here several times it just a crap bowling alley with food to match. Would recommend going anywhere else!

This place closes at 12 on weekdays and I totally get that but we were rushed out at 11:30PM. By rushed out, we were spoken about loudly by the staff so we would overhear their rude comments and leave. Also our drinks were picked up that weren't finished ..... 30 minutes before closing. I was in town with a friend and was excited to show them Chattanooga. Disappointed I brought them here and won't be back. read more

Came in for a Yelp event and wow was I pleasantly surprised!! Loved the rustic decor, use of the pallets and piping was a nice touch. They have amazing pizza here. The waitress told me they make the dough from scratch and they use the yeast from the brewery next door. Their bowling lanes are great. The shoes are velcro, some of them, we got the Velcro ones and was so much easier for my husband and I to get them on. The floors are not slippery at all which is a plus for us. They had a huge Jenga game located on which seems to be a stage, next to the bowling lanes downstairs. Upstairs they have ping pong tables, shuffle board table, pool tables, a couple ski ball machines, 2 arcade games one is a pinball game, which you rarely see. Didn't see the darts. Outdoors they have horseshoes, fire pits that start up in December cause of being so dry. A couple bean bag toss games, outdoor ping pong tables. The staff were very accomadating and on top of things here. Always friendly smiles and asking if I needed anything. The only thing I seen they needed was an elevator. The steps are very hard for me to get upstairs, not good for a person in a wheelchair. They had plenty of handicapped parking but no elevator and there were steps to get up to the entrance, no ramps. Also, they need music outside.... There was no music outside. Fun, fun place for family fun but you have to be 21 to get in... Great atmosphere for friends and family! Something to do for everyone like ski ball, darts, cornhole and bowling.

I love this place. Tonight was the third time I've been there. Awesome food and you don't have to pay for any games except bowling... sign me up. Great place to hang with friends. The staff are always friendly. What I love is the atmosphere. Just draws you in. Lots of space to hang out inside and out. Tip: if you don't want to wait for all the games, come on a weekday. To those who are giving Southside social a bad review is the kind of people that the southside don't need. They are trouble makers and are egged on by Chris Anderson who is using social media to push businesses into changing to suit him and the PC crowd. This is the same dress code that is being used at Pin Strikers and Spare Time. The GM has the right to say what dress code they want and not some politician. It's not discrimintating against anyone by telling them how to dress. Northgate mall and Hamilton place mall has similar rules as well due to the violence went on there. read more

One of the worst experiences due to the fact of horrible service. While waiting for a drink at one of the smaller bars in the back of the establishment, I was ignored by the bar tenders initially, then after getting their attention one walked away and said " Im going on a fucking break". Appalled at their unprofessionalism , I called them out on their rude service and how we've been waiting forever , and then another bar tender storms off and says " fuck this " . Super crowded, good luck getting a spot outside to play games, but the atmosphere is good if you're just looking to drink and socialize. However, do not go for the food/restaurant. I have eaten here twice, and both times have been worse than you could expect. The first time, the waiter was terrible and knew nothing about the establishment, much less the menu. The second time I came, I have never been treated worse by management in my life. My group was made fun of, laughed at and talked about by managers and servers. First, they attempted to tell one friend her ID was fake. After realizing they were wrong, they never apologized and continued their scowling looks. Then, they messed up 2 orders, and rather than FIXING the order of chicken macaroni, they simply brought out a plate of grilled chicken for us to fix ourselves. Then, we had to ASK for complementary meals for the mistake and they'd only offer half price. I could go on, but it's not worth my energy. read more

My 23 year old friend was denied entry because they "felt" like she was under age. They refused to scan her ID after repeatedly asking for that to happen. When asked for the manager, the bouncer said he was, and after we asked for his name, he asked us to leave. This place is clearly not willing to have those of legal drinking age into their bar. read more

What a fun place, lots to do but very crowded on a Saturday night, bowling was a blast, great music, pool tables, lots of places to sit, outdoor fire pit, corn hole, will definitely come back on my next visit. Lots of staff walking around, security keeps a check on stuff. Half the restaurant industry don't even get off until 10, why would u close at 10:30?? We walked in tonight at 10:30, they immediately turned the music off and called last call. First time ever going here and the last. Invited all my friends to come here for my 22nd birthday and had awful service. Took forever for our waiter to approach our table of 9... our drinks were nasty, both pizzas were uncooked and still cold, he was clueless when asked about drink or food, and was charged more for our meals than what was on the menu. On top of all of that our waiter was so S L O W!! One of my friends in our group had to leave the table just to ask him for a different drink because hers was so bad and he responded "well, I have to go downstairs to my other tables first". People have been shot and killed in the parking lot. The drinks suck, the bouncers are rude, and the bartenders provide terrible service.

Took our grown ups kids here for bowling and drinking. We ate some too. I would have rated much lower for service as we were completely ignored for the first 45 minutes or so and I had to go to the bar for drinks but once I mentioned the problem the service was AWESOME. We had appetizers and I thought the hot wings were excellent. Drinks were good and the prices fair. The dance floor was packed and music (live DJ) was a great mix of hip hop and country. It was a cold night but the outdoor fire pits and games look like a fun place to hang out. Did not get upstairs but I hear there are a ton of fun games up there (like skeeball). You rent the bowling lane by the hour and shoe rentals were cheap. We will be back for sure. read more

Went here on Saturday before the Mocs game with an hour and a half to kill before kickoff and ended up missing the start of the game because the service was so slow. Our waiter was pleasant enough but he had way too many tables to handle. Took forever to just get out beers and then one of them was incorrect. Just kept it because it would have taken too long to get a replacement. My husband's sandwich and fries were cold, but he said it tasted good. Six dollars for a beer was pretty pricey and a total of $35.00 for chicken fingers and a cold sandwich was steep. Should have gone to CBC like we did the game before. Live and learn. read more

Really cool place, my friends and I had a lot of fun! I think Southside Social has some real potential as one of Chattanooga's destination attractions. With that being said, there are still many kinks to work out. The service was pretty bad - it took 90 minutes for me to get an appetizer sitting at the bar, an average of 30-40 minutes per beer, a bizarre seating and hostess arrangements, and a general poor attitude of the staff. I understand that the venue is new and it will take time to get the hang of the things, but they really need to get it together to be successful. Upstairs bar basically just shut down completely last night, without any warning. A server happened by and said, "It'll be awhile before you get anything at this bar, you need to go downstairs." Nice. They then attempted to tell us that our tabs could transfer downstairs, even though they have signs posted everywhere stating that tabs don't transfer. Guess the rules only apply when you want them to. The reason for the upstairs bar closing was because 2 workers supposedly called in. Great, but I fail to see how that is my problem. To top it all off, when the bartender from upstairs went downstairs and they "closed" the upstairs bar, they basically left a handful of credit cards, mine included, sitting in a glass, unattended, at the upstairs bar. Won't be going back any time soon. Requests to speak to a manager were basically ignored. read more

I'm leaving Chattanooga tomorrow after seven months and I just left Southside for the last time. This is the most impressive hangout i've found. The wait staff is quick, attentive, polite, just down right nice people. The alley guys always keep the lanes running smooth and well maintained. The prices are unbeatable for bowling(free Fri afternoons) and drinks(cept they took Bud Light off draft). This place will be a must for anytime im in town. Thanks guys for everything. read more

A really fun place to hang out with friends. This is one of those places you have to go with a group of friends because the crowd is a wide variety of people and it's just easier to have a good time if you're with people you know. The service is slow so just have low expectations going in and you won't be disappointed. Where southside social shines more so than other places is the variety of entertainment options -- bowling alley, cornhole, ping pong, skeeball, bocce ball, etc. We had beer and just played corn hole and bocce ball for a few hours and had a blast. read more

There are so many fun things to do from corn hole to bowling to skee ball! The ambience is a 5. The service is a 1. We waited about 20 minutes to get a drink when it wasn't even that crowded. We just had a work Christmas party here so I didn't personally have to pay anything (I've seem some reviews talking about how expensive it is, so this is just from the point of view without money involved) their food is amazing, we had pork sliders, burgers, fries, wings and tatter tot casserole: it was all delicious. The bowling was supposed to be the main focus point of the party but we ended up stayed a couple hours afterwards just playing everything else. They have pool tables, corn hole, giant jenga, horse shoes and several arcade games. The outside space is awesome, there's several fire pits and a bus lounge to hang out in. Overall the atmosphere was so chill and everyone had a blast. I would definitely come back here as a paying customer. Even if you didn't want to bowl and just stick around to play the games, it could be a very cheap night. read more
