You never really know what you're going to get when you go to a gun range, and these two were very safety conscious, direct, and sincere. I felt safer because of their actions, and honestly that's everything you want from a gun range. I can see how some people with ego problems may be offended by strict rules, but I personally would feel more comfortable bringing newbies here rather than anywhere else. The range itself is also strangely idyllic, if a little rustic. There's a river back behind the lane of trees that marks the back boundary, so there were butterflies and caterpillars and wasps flitting about; some long legged water birds would fly above us sometimes. The whole firing line stopped for about five minutes so a cat could wander itself across the field. It was really peaceful. Check your ego at the door and just have a nice time. It doesn't need to be complicated.

Since I didn't have time to purchase bulk 9mm ammo for practice we bought some Magtech FMJ ammo as they only allow for FMJ at the pistol area. The range has a area for Shotguns, Rifle and Pistols.
