Ive been a repeat customer out of necessity only, their gunsmith couldn't fix my 300B AR15 and they have kept me waiting without acknowledging me for the range while they have open spots. They wont even let you shoot quick even if you're skilled enough. I would stay away unless its your ONLY way to exercise your 2A rights. Rudy their gunsmith is the most unprofessional asshole of thm all, I left a full mag of thirteen rounds for him to test fire so of course he only shoots one round and charges me for a box of ammo. Whe he called to say my gun was ready this asshole was nothing but a smartass to me and did nothing but talk down to me and lied by saying I had too much grease on my gun, said he cleaned it and lubed it for me but when I got it home there wasn't any lube on it! One of my co-workers told me to this location. After getting inside I found myself in a gun Paradise. They had the product that I was looking for plus other things that I did not expect to find in this location (MCK products). Today I got two 32-round 9mm clips for my Taurus G3 to fit inside the MCK conversion kit. Anytime you're driving down i-30 on the Eastside of Dallas. I went to the Fort Worth Gun Show where a gentleman named k-mac sent me out to the place in Mesquite so they would do me right I had a German Mauser an SKS and 23 handguns they offered me $3,200 I almost died laughing a few of the guns I had were brand new in the box Rock Island 45 they sell for $700 a piece and they wanted to offer me $200 a piece for them what a joke of a business nothing but arrogant pompous ass guys running around with guns on their hip they think they're God I would never step foot back in this store the biggest joke I ever dealt with in my life their guns are overpriced and their attitude sucks there's too many other gun stores that are fairing honest these people are definitely not doing things by the book read more

Bad customer service, rude and they ignore you, the used guns they sell are sold more than or equal to retail, some have minor damage and are dirty and they get mad when you try and inspect the gun before you try and buy it lol won't shop at this hole in the wall again. Sorry folks, I'll never go back. I can see why some of the reviews were pretty good. I went in once to check it out and was treated fairly. I went back to try their range and got along with the man at check in so all was groovy. My daughter has asked me to take her to the range forever. It worked out that today was the day. I spent about an hour at the house covering the various weapons I had. I talked gun safety and repeated it over and over. She knows that every gun is loaded and has to be treated as such. I won't go into my background but even though I'm not a weapon's master I have had enough experience, CHL, and police instruction. I made the mistake in telling the young man at check in that this was her first time. He asked me what my qualification were, was I an instructor, etc. I thought he was over the top from the beginning, but I'm willing to learn, you're never too old to learn (I'll be 72 in May). Then he proceeded to dress me down in front of my daughter. He brought out "better" weapons for her to learn on. He suggest shooting instructors before she shot. I mean folks - he was so far out of bounds I'm surprised I was as polite as I was when I told him I'd never be back. My daughter thought he was in a "who-got-the-largest-penis" mode. I couldn't agree more. I really hate this because it was a convenient facility. I simply cannot overlook the way I was treated. So if you can overlook being ridiculed then by all means frequent the place - I've already forgotten the name. You have to staple your targets on cardboard which I can overlook but come on - what about customer service and relations? Sorry to be so ugly but it is what it is - I don't know how long it is going to take to wash the bad taste out of my mouth. read more

I bought a firearm online and picked this place for the FFL pick up. The employees who work here seem to have a stick up their ass.. customer service sucks. They are not very friendly or helpful, they look upset to be at work. I was thinking about buying optics or magazines but they just look like they don't want to be bothered by anyone. I've been here a few times but found a new FFL/gun store to buy from with better customer service. Would not recommend this business. read more

I read both positive and negative reviews about this place. Typically what I find about gun shop/range reviews is the negative reviewers don't really understand gun culture and should probably stick to Dick's or Academy for that big box retail experience they seek. This ain't the Blessed Order of Saint Mary the Meek if you know what I mean. This is serious and a person could get injured or worse by not following the rules. What comes off as rude is actually people trying to make sure that all of us are safe no matter what level shooter we are, or think we are in many cases. Anyway, I had a GLOCK 19 that needed to be resurfaced. I got a good deal on it because it had a botched Cerakote job done to it. I asked around at the various ranges I visit each week and quite a few people told me the same thing, go to The Gun Zone. I took it in on Friday and the gunsmith called me to ask who had done such a horrible job. I explained the situation and we both had a laugh. Most places tell you three or four weeks on a job like this. I left it on Friday and it was done on Saturday. Now that is the service I am looking for. I now have a beautiful GLOCK 19 with a total investment of $385.00, and it's just the way I want it! The people in the store were awesome and I am going to do some shooting there moving forward. It is a little out of my way, but I will travel a few extra miles for people I like. GREAT SHOP! read more

First time at a range. Walked in with my cuz and was helped immediately. The help wasn't nice or mean. He was just there- doing his job. Wasn't amused or made small talk. Rented a Ruger 22, one lane and bought three targets came out to $37. It wasn't busy on a Friday around 5pm. Everyone inside the shooting area were considerate and cleaned up the shells afterwards. The Ruger that we rented was malfunctioning. I gave it 3 tries and after that we exchanged it for a revolver which was actually really easy (after cocking the hammer)and didn't have that much recoil. I purchased a used gun at the ft worth gun show and was sold a faulty magazine that was slipped inside the box at the end of sale. While I was looking and testing how the gun functioned I was told to try out magazine inside the box. I opened the box and there was not magazine in the box. Kevin the salesman told me someone must have jacked the mag so he handed me a magazine from a new gun of the same model to test how the gun functioned. With how well the gun functioned with the new magazine I decided to make the purchase. When I got home there was a magazine in the box. Where was the missing magazine earlier when I was testing functionality? The magazine when empty won't slide the lock back. I was never told about this problem with the magazine even after I asked if there are any issues with the gun. I was told by Kevin it's in great condition and shoots great. That part is true but using a bait and switch with the new magazine and selling me a useless mag that I never was given to test is dishonest. I called up there to ask about it a few days later and was told our conversation didn't happen and he couldn't remember me. He remembered many other details about my purchase but couldn't remember the conversation about the magazine at all and was told none of that happened. So given that he remembered other details but not that one makes me believe this was done intentionally to make a sale. I probably still would have gotten the gun if he was honest but the fact he wasn't shows alot about his character. I was told that I signed the paper that said the gun was inspected and in working order and there's nothing they would do to correct it. Legally that is correct but morally I don't believe it is. Watch out if your buying used guns from Kevin, he will lie or hide information to make that sale. read more

I saw some really cool guns from this place on instagram, so I was excited to check this place out in person. I was actually greeted at the door by one of the people working (that has never happened to me in a gun shop before). I usually have to have my girlfriend come in for me to get any attention at all, that wasn't the case here! She was able to go grab a bite to eat while I shopped and tested the range. I asked about an extra extended mag for my model gun and the worker helping me came out onto the floor and grabbed one right away to show it to me. I liked the price and bought it! I informed them that this was the first time I've been to a range by myself and I was still treated with respect. (I have a LTC and have been to ranges with my brother in the past.) When I had an issue with the stapler, I wasn't treated like an idiot. (I could see a lot of people getting frustrated and treating me like an idiot for that part!) I felt comfortable asking them anything, that's important to me. When I spent all my bullets, there were more customers in the store but one of the workers came over right away and got me checked out. This is the only time I've not had to wait in a gun shop to be paid attention to. I will be coming back. Thanks for the great customer service! read more

I read some reviews that said this was the least expensive range they've been to, so I'm not sure what specials or coupons we missed because it really wasn't. It was my wife, my 11 year old nephew and myself on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't rent any guns, brought our own protection, bought 2 bags of "range" reloaded ammo for my 9mm and 4 targets. It all came out to right around $85. It was a great time, but I've been less expensive ranges. read more

This is a difficult review. I love the selection of this shop minus their prices but I despise just about everything else about it. The staff is rude as can be and their range rules remind me of some of the finest micromanaging the military ever showed me. I'm not even sure two stars is right. I have been to this store three times before making my judgment. They have a decent pistol selection and a discount room that is almost as good as Gun Show prices. But watch out for the old guy with big ears. He is EXTREMELY RUDE and UNHELPFUL. My wife and I asked him a few questions spread out throughout our most recent visit. When we asked for suggestions, he offered us none. When we asked him for information he responded with attitude as if I were asking him for money. Their LTC classes are quite pricey and they offer ZERO Veteran discount. Their cerakoter raised his prices on me even though I was quoted a different price over the phone. He told me that he had just raised his price that very same day because he felt he was undercharging. I can respect that; however, I told him I only came here because of the price and asked him if he could honor the price I was quoted just this one time and he refused. I still paid the money as I was limited on time and he did a good job. Their membership is $155 for the year but you still pay near $10 an hour for the range. You receive a small percentage off of purchases but their ammo and accessories are pricey and you are basically paying for that discount with the $155. I can go to Ammo Depot and pay $10 hour with no membership and receive AMAZING, HOSPITABLE service with REALLY GREAT prices! At Ammo Depot, they even give you free snacks, coffee, and a place for your children to play where you can keep a safe eye on them. They are also very Veteran friendly. I'm not specifically trying to promote Ammo Depot but rather offer some comparison between a good gun store / range and a poor one. BOTTOM LINE. There are way too many gun stores, gun shows, and gun ranges in Dallas / Rockwall area to be an asshole to your customers. I will not be returning here ever again. I purchased a gift certificate a few years ago and forgot I had it. There is no expiration date on the certificate itself. I recently found it, called Monday, told them date of purchase and asked if it was still good. They told me "NO, you waited too long to use it". If their GC expires, it should be printed on the certificate. Bad customer service considering I purchased a gun from them less than 2 months ago. I won't be back. read more

It was quick and fast not like academy waited almost 40min plus for somebody to walk to the register to get charged . Here was quick not even 25 min I was out with a new toy . Out of all my experiences with bad Customer service this has to be by far the worst. I walked in, and was approached by an identified sales associate. Told him exactly what I was looking for and he showed me their inventory handing me a firearm to look at. I Wasn't satisfied with the price so I had a few questions regarding their prices compared to the manufacturers price. He then proceeded to take the firearm out of my hand, placed it back on the rack and walked off........ Confusedly, I stood there, waiting on him to return. Sadly he never returned, I assume the color of my skin and me not agreeing with that price warranted him to discontinue servicing me. I'm a USAF veteran, former Police Officer and in the process of becoming an LTC Instructor. I support locally owned businesses and send business to many Gun shops however this one will NEVER receive business from me again. What can I say but this has become my favorite shooting range! It is close by off the I-30, clean inside, adequate parking, and customer service is great. They have a pretty nice selections of guns and rifles to check out. The range has 8 lanes. Yes, it is small but I like that it is intimate and also has walls in each booth so it is more private and you don't get muzzled like I have at another range around here. There are a/c vents in each lane so it is nicely ventilated and cool. For your targets, there is a staple gun that you just staple your targets onto the cardboard. When my husband and I went yesterday, we were the only ones shooting so it was nice. Eventually one or two people came and went but it still felt like our private range lol. The price is affordable and is cheaper than some of the indoor ranges around here. We just bought 3 targets and with the two of us it was only $35. They have affordable memberships ($110 for one and $155 for family). On the first Monday of every month ladies are free! Definitely going on those days lol. I believe they offer classes as well. We really enjoyed this range and will be getting memberships next time we are here. I recommend this range over the others in the area. read more

Whoop! Get your CHL here in one of the most efficient and straightforward classes around. Love the instructor. The indoor range is really compact and intimate, not upscale but certainly efficient. And, ladies, we shoot free* on Mondays. (I don't know what they asterisk means, it was on the sign, so I'll find out next Monday, I guess.) If you haven't shot, are afraid to shoot, don't understand why in the world anyone would ever... you really need to get with a friend or family member or instructor who knows the ropes and go squeeze off a few rounds. It's fantastic, a great precision skill exercise and thrilling to boot! read more

The Gun Zone located at 2403 IH 30, has the worst service in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. I spent over $2000 in that store I went back to the store to exchange some sites on my AR 15 that I purchased at that store not only was it rude and disrespectful to me and it was race base. I still purchase the sites they cost more than the sites I had on my A.R. 15 this is my opinion black people in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex do not need to go to the gun zone in mesquite.
