I was seen at this clinic on 7/30/25 for Visual Disturbances which I've had in the past but this…read moretime I'm seeing squiggly lines and visual disturbances all day and it started happening to this affect 3 days ago I was seen by Optometrist Dr Doctor who did an exam and said my Retinas were healthy and what I had were floaters which I already knew but in the past this issue would resolve normally within an hour and I would get them once in a while but not every day all day which is what is happening now I told this to the Optometrist who had no time for questions nor did he ask me if I had any So basically they allowed me to leave with this issue which again I'm gett all day and has not decreased without any follow up for me at all I called the nurse line through my insurance who stated they should have also discussed the medications I was on as well as address some type of follow up I have requested a 2nd MD opinion offered by my company This clinic will send me an exorbitant bill for basically do an exam telling me I have floaters and allowing me to leave with my vision impaired with absolutely no follow up instructions Terrible care I'm supposed to just live with these visual disturbances all day every day now I'm tempted to notify the Attorney General office about this clinic terrible experience now I'll have to incur even more heal care costs because I'm not going to live with dots and squiggly lines in my vision all day I expect the manager of this clinic to return my call

The receptionist said that their cut off for late appointments is eight minutes. I looked at the time and said what time is it? She said nine minutes! I honestly wish they either would have told me they have an "eight minutes" late policy (though I was standing there waiting) or honestly why have such a tight schedule? No thanks! We will be headed to another eye doctor.

The only thing that could have made this appointment better would have been a pina colada, but then one's vision would get blurry and you may walk out of the office wearing a pair of pint glasses; rather than some fashionable frames.

She hit me with such force that it caused schoolyard children, supervising teachers, and nearby murder of crows to make a cacophony of ugly shrieks. (http://bit.ly/1gj0KYN) Later that day, I told my mom about my bully's Balrog punch (http://bit.ly/1bQ3R9y) and she enrolled me in karate. #nationalkarateinroseville Several weeks later, the bruising on my face disappeared; however, the cost of her blow would still be felt decades later. In my early twenties, I developed a cataract. (A cataract is blurred vision that occurs from a damaged lens in the eye.) My ailment was an anomaly -since I wasn't old- that puzzled the head ophthalmologist at Park Nicollet (St. Louis Park)/ leading surgeon at Phillips. Eventually, she determined that my cataract occurred one of two ways: extreme drug use or trauma. I didn't use any drugs, so she deducted that it had to be trauma. (Hence, the realization that it was due to that vicious punch.) I needed surgery, ASAP! Coincidentally, my father, who is 32 years older than me, and within the age range for receiving a cataract, needed surgery as well. My father and I scheduled appointments to go "under the knife" by the same doctor on the same day and place. (First ever father-son duo at Phillips, I might add) Our appointment times were different, of course. My first -and hopefully, only visit- to the Phillips Eye Institute was nothing short of excellent. That's mainly due to the considerate and professional staff. Beginning with the receptionists, they kindly guided me on filling out all of the necessary paperwork and answered all of my questions without any sighs. The nurses? Super awesome, since they clearly articulated how they would help me prepare for the surgery. They also anesthetized me without any hiccups, and when I went under, I was so relaxed that I probably wouldn't have cared if someone slapped me in the face or hijacked and sold my organs on the black market. While drugged up, I recall the surgeon making a minuscule incision on the side of my eye, which immediately caused my vision to become blurry. Right afterwards, though, I saw an array of colors and felt as if I was flying through a rainbow or in warp-speed on the Star Trek Enterprise! (http://bit.ly/1aPrTDA) She then utilized a special operating vacuum to suck out my scarred lens and injected a folded and plastic one, perfectly. Afterwards, I passed out, woke up, and found myself rockin' a not-so-badass eye patch. (See photo.) Several days later, I returned to see my ophthalmologist and had my patch removed. My vision was better than ever! I could now drive at night, read without any problems, and discern between light yellow and white. (Yeah, that's how bad it was.) To this day, my vision rocks! If I ever have an epiphany as to who punched me, I would attempt to find her via Google and then send a message demanding her to pay for my past cataract surgery. However, this will probably never happen. If you or a loved one ever has a cataract, I highly recommend the Phillips Eye Institute! They changed my life!

I asked the doctor if a glare covering would help me see at work, again she said it was subjective. I had to ask point blank if I had the diagnosis of glaucoma after hints. Lastly preparing for another eye doctor visit, while reading her visit summary, the physician stated that she spent a long time talking to me. I couldn't see where, unless "subjective" constitutes having a meaningful conversation. When I asked for help, no options were suggested, no direction given, it was again subjective. It is a big deal when you are in a fight to keep a job so you can have healthcare. I had to problem solve and find that a low vision Physician existed through the internet. I came to you out of high recommendations and trusting that even if you couldn't help I'd at least get a referral or I don't know, but will find you, someone.

The first time I brought a pair back because I couldn't see out of them the male staffer took a look and said right away that they were the wrong size for my face and would never fit correctly. What! Then why sell them to me. Two of the pairs are for distance and bifocals. The bifocals are fine but the distance vision is blurry unless I tilt them. However, don't buy frames here…read more A lack of information and questions ended with me spending around $1650 on eyeglasses that had to be replaced twice and ended up being just ok for my needs. Less than a year later, I'm having to replace them again. Driving is what brought me in to the optometrist. I was beginning to have trouble with focus at dusk and at night when reading street signs and dealing with headlights, traffic lights, etc. I'm also a grad student, so I read a lot - A LOT - but not on screens. This was my first pair of wear-all-the-time eyeglasses, so I decided to try progressives. When I went to the optician side, someone should have asked me all of that right off the bat: how/when are you going to use these glasses? What brought you in for your exam? Is there a specific issue that you're dealing with? What kind of insurance coverage do you have? None of these questions were asked. Information that wasn't made clear up front: the actual cost of neurolenses (which I do recommend - if you have money). The cost of the frames that were chosen was also not made clear up front. Options like transitions, blue light blockers, oil resistant coating, etc. No mention until much, much later. No mention was made that I could restyle if I didn't like the frames, either. No mention was made that they could be adjusted for fit, until much later, either. The first frames that were chosen were highly recommended by an optometrist there. I was uncomfortable with their size, but open-minded and willing to give it a try. After all, they *were* my first pair of eyeglasses. They go on your face. I knew I would have to get used to them. I asked if they were too big, and was told they were perfect. I ordered them. I thought I'd be looking at about $400-$500. Two weeks later, I pick them up and am told upwards of $1500! I should have walked out but I was shocked, and also needed them. So, I paid for them, tried them on, and was instantly aware that I wouldn't be able to read in them. I said as much to the optician, who made no adjustments, said she'd call me in two weeks to see how it was going, and that was that. Again, these were my first pair, and I knew I would have to try them for a few weeks to give my eyes a chance to adjust, so I went along with it. Two weeks later, the optometrist did call, and I asked about clip-on sunshades because I was experiencing headaches from the brightness of the sun when driving. There were none available, but she could add Transitions lenses for $138. Two weeks later, I go to pick up the new glasses. As I'm leaving, I mention that I'm still getting used to the frames, but looking forward to using the Transitions for driving. She got a strange look on her face, but didn't say anything. The Transitions lenses were so weak, I ended up buying clip-ons from Walgreens and cutting them to fit. I looked like an idiot. On top of it, I couldn't read in these glasses unless I physically held the frames higher up on my face with one hand. The other option was looking so far down on the lenses that people would ask me if I was asleep while reading. My neck was a mess. I also felt like a clown in the frames. I finally sent an email asking if all of this was normal. A different optician invited me in to restyle. What?! You can do that? No one told me that. I made the 40 min drive out - an hour and 40 back each time, btw, because of the freeway situation - and we went through about 10 different frames, none of which were great, but at least they weren't clown glasses. He also told me that there are different types of Transitions, and the wrong type had been ordered. He also adjusted the reader Rx and ordered a different pair. Two weeks later, he's adjusting the 2nd pair so I can really read in them - not just check a text or read a pay terminal for 12 seconds - but there was a moment when he suggested I get computer distance glasses instead. Why would I want that? I have three perfectly good pairs at home: one was fully covered by insurance, one was $20 from Walmart, and one was about $150 from Zenni Optical. I don't get it. The new Transitions worked well, but when I got home, I noticed that these frames weren't the ones I'd ordered - and were equally disturbing. Now I looked like my mother - which is not ok. Again, I tried to get used to them, but was so embarrassed in them that I actually blew off a friend's birthday party at one point. The optician told me we could do one more restyle. They were decent. However, I can't read in these either for any length of time, and have utterly given up. I don't think it's even been 6 months since the final pair came in, and I need a new Rx. They were pleasant, Dr. Wesley was very good. But too much time, gas, way too much money, limited selection of men's frames, not enough information shared, and they should've asked a lot more questions. Mediocre end result. A real miss.
