When I remember to make my annual checkup with enough notice, I meet with Dr. Katz. Otherwise, I have met with several of his nurse practitioners. I have been pleased with my interactions with Dr. Katz and the nurse practitioners, who I feel all listen to me, provide updates in a thoughtful manner, and follow-up afterwards with any referrals or prescriptions. There is an automated system that can connect people with the front desk, voicemail system, or provide other system as need be. When you're speaking with the front desk, they are quite helpful whether they answer questions or help schedule or reschedule an appointment. Any paperwork is submitted and charges are made in advance or following the appointment so that you do not need to worry about either while you're checking in for your appointment. Any bloodwork is done in the office instead of going to a separate location (as they used to do a few years back). Needless to say, it's very convenient to work with the Paradise Valley Family Medicine office. As for Dr. Katz and the nurse practitioners, they have gone out of their way to make calls, do research, and follow-up with me between appointments to ensure that I am taken care of whether it is a sleep study, having a prescription be honored, or even having a prescription successfully make it to the nearby pharmacy. They use a portal, which is easy for sharing test results, visit summaries, or sending messages back and forth. Get offer primary care, well child exams, well woman examinations, annual physicals, sports and camp physicals, adult and pediatric immunizations, preventative health care, and pre-operative clearance. To see Dr. Katz or another doctor, make an appointment about a month in advance. You can see a nurse practitioner about two weeks in advance, and they are wonderful! I have enjoyed working with Brooke and Allison in the past. They are typically open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM and on Friday from 8 AM to 12 noon. Holiday hours differ a bit. All in all, I'm glad to go to the Paradise Valley Family Medicine and recommend them to anyone needing a primary care physician.

First, they are nurse practitioners in this office, NOT doctors, second I needed a referral to the dermatologist. The nurse I was assigned to, Farrow, went straight to recommending GLP???? I don't have any weight related health issues and that was not why I was there. He would ask me a question, then interrupt, and not listen to my answer. He said I was going to need to update my blood work, so the day before my app. I called to ask if I needed to fast. The first 2 times I called I pushed option 4 for general questions and after a long period of waiting the call just hung up. Then I called back, pushed option 2 for scheduling, hoping to get a person. I did....sorta. Someone would pick up periodically and say, "Please hold". 45 minutes later I hung up. I called back, option 2, again "Please hold", eventually a female answered. I asked if I needed to fast, she said she was transferring me. She sent me to a VM. I left a VM, but called back because at this point it was 11 and I wanted to know if I could eat. Again, option 2, please hold, wait, etc. When the same female answered I said I just wanted to know if I can eat she said, "Oh, you're getting a physical. I thought you were just having blood work." This told me she didn't bother to look me up the first time before transferring me to VM. At this point I told her to cancel my app. I will find another office, with an MD who listens and competent administrative staff. This office needs less patients, not more. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Amanda helped us schedule appointments and she was very helpful. Lauren was the nurse who interviewed us and provided us with vaccine recommendations. Lauren was so welcoming and professional. We were very impressed with her knowledge as well. The clinic utilizes the CDC for vaccination recommendations, which was very reassuring. We knew we would need the Typhoid Fever Vaccine. We were hoping we wouldn't need Yellow Fever or Japanese Encephalitis Vaccinations. Luckily, Lauren determined we didn't need either one of those. We were hoping that the travel clinic wouldn't recommend a bunch of vaccine that we didn't really need- and this clinic DOESN'T do that- a huge relief. All we needed was a Typhoid Fever Vaccine. The clinic also provided us with prescriptions for antibiotics to take if we are unfortunate enough to devleop traveler's diarrhea. We also received a $25.00 discount for checking in. They said this is his personal policy regardless of if your insurer allows you to see anyone you like in network without referrals. Medical red tape and bureaucracy at its finest. I think I am competent enough to know when I have a sinus issue going on, with all of my issue I've had in my lifetime. He might be the most miraculous doctor in the world, but this type of policy is nonsense.
