I'm on the hunt for a new bike shop, and Elite Cycling didn't exactly win me over…read more I popped in looking for a seatpost replacement, and the overall vibe and attitude were not the best. They told me I should just fix it, and to their credit, gave me some tips. The thing is, we're moving, selling our house, packing, etc. and I'd rather they just help out with a seatpost or offer to schedule a time for me to have them fix it. To me, it felt dismissive. I then inquired about a new bike, something I've been excited about the past few years and saving up for. I told them my budget for it which is on par for a small car, and they said "We aren't gonna have anything in that range." I was a bit shocked, and they clarified it's more due to Covid disrupting the supply vs demand. I know that's an issue, but again, dismissive to be shot down when I have the cash ready to go for a good new road bike. Overall it felt like they couldn't wait to be rid of me in the five minutes I was there. I got to know the folks are two now defunct bike shops and actually enjoyed going in to them. This one definitely didn't bring it for me like the past ones. I get it, they're in a high dollar area and can afford to get by without the friendly neighborhood shop feel, but it's not for me, and I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I can't give them a full review since I only visited the shop while in town for something. They…read moredidn't work on my bike so it's just my interaction with the crew there. It was ok. They weren't overly friendly, somewhat "elitist" if you know what I mean. Which is funny since they have no clue who I am or what I've done in the bike world. Hopefully it was just an off day for them, who knows. Place was pretty cluttered.

Did some…read moreresearch and found that Hanover was one of top rated bikes shoot, and luckily very close to home! They let me test ride the 3 bikes I was interested in. They are so helpful, patient, and kind. I'm referring everyone to them. Price was reasonable and came with some extras! Love my new bike! Located right next to Brew Haha coffee and the skate place. Lot of parking and a good place to test ride. Thx Bob!

I cannot, in good faith, recommend Hanover Bikes…read more I purchased a Velotric Tempo earlier this week, and unfortunately, it did not perform as expected. I reached out shortly after to ask about their return/refund policy--not even assuming I'd be able to return it, just looking for clarity. I called right when they opened at 10 AM and spoke with the owner's wife, who told me she wasn't sure and that the owner would call me back. After waiting four hours with no response, I followed up and was again told to wait for a callback. I never received one that day. At 9 PM that night, I finally received a text stating they would accept a return with a restocking fee. I replied within seconds asking what the fee would be, but got no response. I followed up again the next morning--still nothing. I then called again at 10 AM and spoke with the wife once more. I was told they were "very busy." I explained I understood, but it takes only a few seconds to respond and at least acknowledge the message so I'm not left wondering. She said they needed to contact corporate, which is fine--but again, just communicate that. Instead, the conversation became rude, and she ultimately hung up on me. What makes this more frustrating is that when I picked up the bike, I was in the store for over an hour and didn't see a single customer. So the repeated claim of being too busy to respond doesn't add up. At the end of the day, this wasn't about the return--it was about communication and basic customer service. Unfortunately, that experience fell far short.

It's totally one part corporate, crisp, functional retail goods store, and another part taxidermy animals, rides, fudge, and hunting & fishing gear like you'd find at Bass Pro. We took our kids here on a winter break, gray day and it was a lot of fun. First off, there's a mini aquarium when you walk in -- it's nothing to write home about, but it gets the kids attention and they realize right away this is a fun store. From there, you can't miss the gigantic ferris wheel in the middle of the store. Gonna be real, it's fun and worth the wait but also a bit nerve wracking. Something is just odd about quietly swaying at the top of a department store quietly for such a long time. My daughter was like, "Dad, I'm scared to look down!" and all I could think was, "so am I, kid, so am I." We both agreed it's pretty fun once it gets going. There's also a little bowling area where you get five frames for a buck, and ditto to a little arcade game area as well. There's toy stores, outdoor goods, quality brands of clothes and outfitting, and really a nice answer to online shopping. In fact, it feels like malls used to feel in the 90's but a modern spin on everything. We did eat here but I'd say skip it. I didn't find anything I wanted and when I went to finish off my kids chicken tenders I was super underwhelmed and ended up pitching them. I will say at this time they carry Sylas & Maddy's ice cream (best IC in the city IMO) so that was a nice surprise treat. What more could you want if out shopping with the kids?! It's a great spot to kill a quiet afternoon.
