They installed a mismatch color wheel, my daughter was cool with it so I didn't push it, on the way home from getting it fixed the inner tube failed while in the back of our car, they fixed with no issue. A week and a half later the inner tube failed again, I brought it up, Jacob looked at it and pointed out it was on the inside so it was not from a puncture while riding so that kinda leaves poor installation or faulty products. The worst part was they charged me for it. If we ran over something, I can see that, but it was either installation error, something in the wheel they installed, or a faulty inner tube they installed. Not sure their policy, and I'm sure they'll come back with some wonderful explanation of why they charge me $30 for it but when I asked are they really gonna charge me for their product failing, they didn't seem to care, offered to take half off sheepishly. Nah, if you're gonna charge me, I'll pay full price if that's the way you're going to run your business.

Unfortunately the owner Ross did not provide the same level of courtesy and respect his employees do. I am 57 and ride gently. I test rode the bike on their lot, and owned it less than 24 hours. I rode it less than a few miles on a paved road near home to discover it didn't perform as expected. I brought it back cleaner than it was at delivery. I thought agreeing with the owner to cover 6-10% was more than generous for the hassle and any tiny expenses, but when I arrived back to return the unit the owner got more involved and changed the terms. Chris my sales person vouched for me, knowing my character and the overall situation, but it wasn't enough for the owner Ross. According to him there is no return policy on bikes. He made an exception for me, and kept 15% of my money on a return instead of the agreed 10.. In that conversation with him, Ross whined about loosing money via credit card fees and taxes. Furthermore he went on to say that the transaction was "painful and inconvenient" indicating he was still doing me a nice favor by returning 85% of my money. As the conversation unfolded, I suspect Chris took some heat for the level of service he had provided. Chris over delivered and under promised, not the other way around. In the end I was surprised to learn the owner was more interested in the restocking fee, knowing good and well the bike could be resold as brand new (no different than the lot rides myself and others had taken). He would not consider the idea that future business and relationships are more valuable than restocking fees. I am on my way back to the Trek shop to purchase a unit from them. Trek understands this concept. In fact, they offer a 30 day, no questions asked, full refund in the event a unit doesn't fit well or perform to expectations. I'll also be purchasing a second bike for my wife, parts and gear. Provided it goes as good business should, I'll be referring businesses elsewhere. If Ross can ever grasp value in changing his policy to a more consumer friendly one, I'd love to work with his staff and his outfit in the future because I like supporting my local shop. Until then, I'm afraid I'll have to hand over my hard earned money to corporate giants. What a shame.

Mid april i wanted to buy a mountain bike and i kinda knew it would be difficult to find a full suspension in my price point because every place i checked was sold out. As i was walking around checking inventory a guy said you need help i'll be right with you ( he was helping 3 other people ) Dave came over 5-10 minutes later said what can i do for you. He found me a bike in the price point and over the next week he found a part i needed to hook a kids trailer to my bike. Did all this looking stuff up on the computer answering phones and trying to take care of everyone walking in the door lol.. At one point i didn't think he would remember about a part he was going to have them install when they got my bike in... I was wrong, not only did he remember the part he had them put it on right away. I watched Dave take care of customers 1 after another and a few at a time over 2 weeks. One lady had a problem with something she bought there, Dave looked her in the eye said i have never seen this happen before in over 15 years so you tell me what you want to do for you to walk out happy, i'll refund your money in full or give you another unit ( i think it was a bike rack maybe) . She wanted a new unit and dave made the bike builder stop what he was doing to build this ladies unit on the spot! I am a huge fan of this shop now, it's like that 80's bike shop before corporations, cool to talk to and they know there stuff about bikes. I ended up buying another bike for my wife today (so we can take a ride together) I found out 3 workers quit because of covid and their volume doubled because everyone wants bikes or getting there old bikes worked on. One reason I'm not quite at five stars is that it's still so new to me; I haven't had them work on any of my bikes, bought any big ticket items, etc. I lightly perused the bike selection which is pretty good, at least for right now in these weird supply-chain times. There's a big parking lot out front (rare for midtown) and it's easy to get to from the Plaza/Brookside/Westport. Recommend giving them a go and looking forward to updating this down the road after a few more visits!

Thankfully, I live fairly close to the Depot and so was able to bring both of them over without difficulty on the same day. I had called ahead and explained the situation to Dave; he was extremely friendly and helpful and assured me that yes, he would be able to take care of both of my bikes and they'd be ready to ride again within the week. He was as good as his word! Within 3 business days, he called me to let me know the bikes were ready. While I was at the shop, I had several questions regarding the usual care of my bicycles. He was extremely patient and helpful and explained several points of bicycle maintenance, such as regular cleaning (do NOT hose down a bicycle!), airing up the tires (and the importance of relying on a pressure gauge, not how full the tire "feels"), the finer points of shifting, and what to do if your chain slips off. I know his time is valuable--there were lots of bikes in the shop still needing to be worked on--and I appreciate him taking the time to help me be a better bicycle owner and rider. It's good that the shop is open both days on the weekend; since I work on Saturdays, I rely on Sundays to get many of my errands done. It's nice to have a business that I can visit at a convenient time and day. Dave and his crew have won my loyalty! There's nowhere else I'm going to bring my bikes for service (or for general questions). Bicycle Depot is the BEST!!

He ordered the replacement part and came back out a couple days after the part was delivered. He installed the part within a couple hours, probably closer to an hour. The cost for labor was very reasonable, and then the cost of the part completed the total amount billed. With this fix, the fridge/freezer should last another five years. I started to worry I needed to buy a new one when I couldn't find the replacement part online. I'm glad J & J was able to get the part and fix in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable price.

It was quoted at ~$8k and after beginning the job that increased to ~$9k with an approved change order, which was fine. I would say the job began OK and Ethan did a fair job on the demo and framing. His detail work however was sloppy, leaving bad scratches all over the new tub. He tried to cover them but only made it worse. The tub will have to be reglazed to fix it. Moreover he or his sub installed the diverted incorrectly and we got a bid for $1340 to fix that. Really the worst part has been his unreliability and broken promises. Our tenant has given up so much time to be stood up, delayed, etc. We finally had no choice but to end the contract, and unfortunately we were nice enough to pay almost all of the contract in advance after he asked if we could help him to pay his guys. We are left holding the bag, which is our fault for paying him in advance when the job wasn't close to being done. I would run from this guy.

They told me I should just fix it, and to their credit, gave me some tips. The thing is, we're moving, selling our house, packing, etc. and I'd rather they just help out with a seatpost or offer to schedule a time for me to have them fix it. To me, it felt dismissive. I then inquired about a new bike, something I've been excited about the past few years and saving up for. I told them my budget for it which is on par for a small car, and they said "We aren't gonna have anything in that range." I was a bit shocked, and they clarified it's more due to Covid disrupting the supply vs demand. I know that's an issue, but again, dismissive to be shot down when I have the cash ready to go for a good new road bike. Overall it felt like they couldn't wait to be rid of me in the five minutes I was there. I got to know the folks are two now defunct bike shops and actually enjoyed going in to them. This one definitely didn't bring it for me like the past ones. I get it, they're in a high dollar area and can afford to get by without the friendly neighborhood shop feel, but it's not for me, and I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Parts: I was told he had a Carbon Revel Rascal Frame. He actually had a few! I asked about the frame (He was very knowledgeable) I needed a BB, sram cassette and a sram chain. I had to ask because it would have taken me a week to find the parts myself. But he got everything together and he gave me a really fair price.
