Being naive about back surgeries we thought my husband was getting the best care he could. After the 2nd surgery failed miserably a friend suggested that we see Dr. Nicholas Shroeder at OSOC. Within minutes of meeting with us he explained clearly why the first two surgeries had failed. By this point my husband is in constant pain and can no longer stand up straight. Dr. Shroeder explained what he felt the best course of action was going to be for Tom's situation. Dr. Shroeder had the new pieces needed for Tom's back made specifically for him in France. The previous neurosurgeon had just grabbed any rods and screws within reach. That was what kept Tom from standing upright. The picture on the right shows the neurosurgeon placed straight rods in his back. Losing the natural curve is what kept him from ever standing straight and in excruciating pain. The picture on the left is what was needed to give Tom the ability to walk and have a good quality of life again. This shows the difference between an excellent surgeon and one who should never be allowed to practice medicine again. The day of the surgery was a very long one. Dr Shroeder performed the 14 hour surgery to correct the neurosurgeon's mess. He actually had to rebuild Tom's back vertebrae by vertebrae. There were a few appointments before the surgery and a few during the next year. It is a 3 hour drive each way for appointments/surgery. Both my husband and I feel that the drive back and forth saved his life. I do not say that lightly. It's been 6 years since his surgery at OSOC and we are so grateful to Dr. Shroeder and his wonderful staff, especially Liz. Their knowledge, patience, compassion and kindness is so appreciated.

He did my full right knee replacement 8 years ago and a full left knee replacement almost one year ago. Both surgeries were a great sucess with a speedy recovery. Dr. Kassab and his team are on top of the latest science and technology. They have their own Physical Therapist who are wonderful to work with, so friendly, encouraging, and knowledgeable. The issues I've had here are with the staff. After coming in for my first appointment I was told that Dan would call to schedule my next appointments. I didn't hear from him. I finally called and was told that he was waiting for a script from my doctor and authorization from my insurance. I told him I had a script and we went round and round on the next step. I finally called my doctor and had them fax it over to them. Then I waited some more. It turns out my insurance now required authorization to continue. I called them and found out they had authorized it so I called back again to let them know. I finally was able to schedule my next appointment but 2 weeks had gone by. They also had a staff shortage going on so even though I was authorized there were no appointments available all week. My insurance only authorized it a limited time frame. Then I went on a planned vacation so I lost another week. My next appointment was with a young woman who did not seem to understand my issue - she had me do exercises that were really painful and did not help. The next few days I was in so much pain I could hardly move and had to add a knee brace which wasn't even an area that hurt before. I finally went back in and saw Dr. Janu and told him what had happened. He did a great job with appropriate stretching and exercises. The bad news? MY TIME WAS NOW UP with my insurance approval. LOL So they have to re-request additional time to continue. I don't really trust their front office staff to do it in a timely manner - so I doubt I'll get back in before the end of the year.

Clegg and Guest is a place that you can walk into and feel, not just comfortable, but welcomed. In the 2 months I did my PT there, I felt at ease, unpressured, guided and cared for. There was not one single employee that EVER had an attitude, was cross or ac like the were unapproachable. Bre was my therapist who was not only great at muscle manipulation but in tune with the interior workings of my injured shoulder. She is really amazing! The young people who guided me through the strengthening exercises were also absolutely enjoyable. Liam, Dominic, Pierce and Jen were all very careful, helpful and supportive every step of the way. Dr. Swift quickly evaluated the issues and let me know I would have to have surgery because I had a torn meniscus. After MRI and X-ray it was confirmed. Dr Swift preformed surgery on me with in the week. After surgery I met with Dr. Swift again and he spent time with me to help me understand my recovery. I'd wake up in the morning and feel very nauseous. I could hardly work, look at a computer or even work out. Even putting on shoes was painful. The vertigo was affecting my balance, giving me headaches and making me so nauseous. When I came in, I told them my story and they diagnosed me with positional vertigo and gave me some exercises to do to help the vertigo. Guess what - they worked! I've been doing the workouts every day and so far the vertigo has subsided! Most importantly, besides the exercises they have educated me on vertigo, and potential causes.
