I'm writing this review of Sovereign not just from my perspective, but on behalf of my family, as well. In short, we were all physically compromised in various ways. I had a very painful trigger thumb from carrying heavy loads. I had received cortisone shots in the past, but the pain always returned. My wife had not driven in a year due to excruciating pain in her knee. She had visited multiple physical therapists all over town without achieving positive results. Doctors recommended surgery, but also cautioned that surgery would likewise cause increased arthritic pain. My father-in-law's plantar fasciitis had reached a point where taking one small step made each day difficult. And finally, my mother-in-law thought knee replacement constituted her only option after years of progressing pain and discomfort. My wife and I started working with Keith at the recommendation of our family practice doctor. We found his diagnostic and clinical skills to be excellent. He isolated the problem with my thumb quickly and set up an exercise regime that has allowed me to remain pain-free. The issue with my wife's knee was a trickier one. (He once mentioned to her that it was the most "unique" knee situation he has ever seen.) He took up the challenge, however, and where PTs from other clinics had failed, Keith and my wife continued to work together on a solution. After a few months of diligent work on both ends, she now drives without any pain. My in-laws are also well on the way to recovery and feeling better every day. A lot of that has to do with Keith, but we would be remiss if we didn't mention the rest of the therapists and staff at Sovereign, whom we have all worked with on various occasions. Rebecca, Lindsey, and James are all excellent at what they do. Sovereign is not one of these big corporate physical therapy shops that try the same exercises to remedy physical issues. The therapists and staff love what they do, and they are dedicated to isolating your specific problems and working with you to develop a regimen that allows for strengthening and recovery. Beyond that, they are all just great people. They are personable and engaging. Their positive attitudes make the experience of physical recovery a lot easier. If you're looking for quality physical therapy, there is no one I would recommend more highly. read more

Here's a quick history so you can better understand how Keith Travers at Sovereign Rehabilitation has changed my life!..... About 16 years ago, I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I wore a plastic annoying and painful back brace for 2 years, for 22 hours out of the day. It did not correct my curve but did stop it from progressing....until I stopped wearing it and needless to say my back got extremely worse. A few years later I had to have reconstructive back surgery and now (and forever) have Harrington rods almost the entire length of my spine. That was 10 years ago and for the last 9, I have worked as a hairstylist, on my feet all day everyday. The surgery helped me to be able to do this but my day to day finally started to get to me, and I've had pain again for more then a year. So here is my review.... I started seeing Keith and with in weeks I was able to work all day, 11 hours at times, without pain!!!! I also started to wake up in the morning pain free. I saw Keith 3 times a week for 9 weeks and I have never EVER EVER FELT BETTER!!!!! He, and everyone at Sovereign, are extremely talented, knowledgable and kind. They are a smaller office and it counts for the amount of attention they can give to their patients. I strongly recommend Sovereign Rehabilitation. My physical therapist Rebekah has done an awesome job of getting me walking upright without pain. When Rebekah first began treatment on my back, I had pain going down both my legs and sometimes across my back. Her manipulation on my back worked wonders. The home therapy routine that she designed for me has helped to strengthen my core along with the work that I put in while at Sovereign. The entire staff is friendly and professional and at no time have I ever felt like a number. The treatment at Sovereign is very patient centered and hands on. Keisha is the very first person that I talked to when I called for an appointment. She was very friendly, encouraging , and got me on the schedule fairly quickly. When I first arrived I was greeted by her great smile and demeanor. She does a great job working with insurance. The environment is very supportive. It's more like a boutique therapy situation because it's small and all the other therapists know your name. Rebekah began her professional career here at Sovereign. I've had nothing but positive experiences at Sovereign. All staff is super friendly and helpful and they genuinely care about the wellbeing of their clients. They've helped me overcome severe neck pain and headaches and more recently have been helping me improve range of motion in my right arm and shoulder (while reducing pain). This time last year, I had constant headaches, trouble sitting at my desk at work for long periods, trouble sleeping, and difficulty driving all due to pain, lack of mobility and weakness. Thanks to The dedication, knowledge and care of my physical therapist, Lindsay, I no longer have chronic pain and am able to do things I haven't been able to do in years! Therapists Keith and Rebecca and assistant James also are great and have helped me at various times throughout my treatment. I used the services of Keith Travers at Sovereign Rehab about three years ago when I was referred by Dr. Tambar for pain in my head and neck. Even on the first visit with Keith treating me, I felt a lot better. It went up hill from there. I still do the exercises he taught me and it serves me well. Recently I was in need of physical therapy again for a more complicated issue. I went back to Keith, who is helping me tremendously once again. Keith is extremely professional...wears a shirt and tie, like the sports team doctors. He draws you pictures to take with you of each of the exercises he uses so you can refer to them at home. He explains about how the muscles interact and why each exercise is important to your recovery. He suggests some lifestyle changes to make your everyday life more comfortable. And, those messages are pretty darn good as well. He's personable and smart and easy to spend time with, but doesn't let you slack off. I feel lucky that I live two blocks away from Sovereign Rehab. That fact & their great reviews on Yelp caused me to contact them first when a diagnosis of degenerative disc disease made physical therapy necessary for me. I was assigned to Lindsey and I've "never looked back," so to speak, though the entire staff is both friendly and, clearly, quite competent. Not only is Lindsey a knowledgeable, skillful, and kind (but firm) physical therapist, she's also proven to be an excellent diagnostician--sussing out venous insufficiency when the ER doc didn't see it and helping to identify BPPV when there was reason to fear that vertigo might be the result of a benign brain tumor. Lindsey's extraordinary patience and resourcefulness have seen me through nine months of pain and continue to give me hope that, with her help, I can achieve my goals [walking around the block a few times . . . with my new dog!]. read more

Well yes, I am one of the hundreds of patients of Keith Travers and his amazing team of physical therapist who would not know where I would be today without all their help. I arrived at their practice shortly after having had a double arm fracture and could not move my arm. Many weeks of diligent, patient and expert physical therapy with one on one personal care, can I say that my right arm moves as well as the uninjured left arm. Not only was Keith always pleasant and encouraging but at the same time he had one goal in mind: for me to have full use of my right arm and he succeeded! As a client for the past year+, I couldn't ask for a better lead, Keith, and team to help me with healing my ankle. Sovereign Rehabilitation at 2835 N Sheffield is by far the single most comprehensive, professional, scientific, compassionate and understanding group of DPTs that I've ever worked with in my 25 years of getting PT for chronic pain associated with lumbar degenerative disc disease, bulging disc, peripheral neuropathy, and foot surgery. I have unfortunately had to be in the care of PT for 25 years, and have tried them all... The big chains and the ones offered at most health clubs, and there is really no comparison at all. Sovereign is in a league all its own. The level of personal attention and care is outstanding. I owe a great deal of my ability to walk to Keith and Rebekah. Keith Travers is an experienced and excellent physical therapist. When I first came for treatment, I could barely walk due to an injury to my pelvis. Keith quickly got me walking without pain again. He taught me how to keep my pelvis balanced and stable with adjustments that I can easily do at home along with the prescribed strengthening and core exercises to support it. I can now walk with long fast strides again! That is a miracle. Keith is a kind, gentle and fun person. I felt comfortable with him immediately; he has a wonderful and engaging personality. The whole staff there is so welcoming and friendly. Keisha in the front office is a joy! After crippling and painful injuries and years on crutches, my partner, Kerry, could barely walk. Sovereign Rehab has worked nothing short of a miracle. No more foot pain. No more knee pain. No more hip pain. After a year of rehab, they put him on a special treadmill to help him move again. At first 0.1 mile was merely a dream. Now he can do 1.5 miles easily. Their diagnostics and evaluations were spot-on. The stretches and on-site exercises helped do much. And Kerry kept up with his homework. Unbelievable care and treatment is what you get at Sovereign Rehabilitation. The whole team has had the chance to work with me. I have been doing physical therapy for over 12 years now. It was not until I came to Sovereign Rehabilitation with continuous care that I was able to get past some of my previous restrictions. When my son Dylan started seeing Katie LePage for speech therapy he was only saying approx. 10 words, mostly grunting and pointing, and frustrated. First went to Sovereign Rehab three years ago after dislocating my shoulder and consequently injuring my rotator cuff. Keith got back me back up and running and developed a plan to keep me strong. Weeks ago I was diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my neck, causing pain/weakness throughout the same shoulder/arm. It was a no brainer where to go: Sovereign. He seems to have an intuitive knowledge of what your body needs to do and at what intensity to improve.
