She made the entire speech therapy process feel comfortable and encouraging, which made a huge difference in my progress. Sofia took the time to truly understand my goals and tailored each session to my specific needs. She explained techniques clearly, provided helpful exercises to practice outside of sessions, and always celebrated progress, no matter how small. Her supportive and positive approach kept me motivated and confident. I saw real improvement thanks to her guidance, and I genuinely looked forward to each appointment. If you're looking for a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated speech therapist, I highly recommend Sofia and the team at Crossroads Speech & Occupational Therapy.

His patience was short, which made communication tough. He also had delays with motor skills. He could hold utensils and knew they were for eating--he would bring them to his mouth--but he wasn't able to hold them strongly or in the correct way. After months of practice and support, he's now using utensils just fine, and I'm so proud of how far he's come. He began receiving Speech Therapy-Grace, Occupational Therapy-Madelyn, and Developmental Therapy-Shirley once a week. After 8 months of consistent therapy, the progress has been incredible. Lino is now able to make sentences, loves to sing, and can clearly say what he wants. His play skills have also grown--he enjoys playing with others and now involves people around him, which has been wonderful to see. We are especially grateful to his therapist, who has shown how much they truly care about Lino. The patience, dedication, and encouragement they've given him (and us as parents) mean so much. They don't just teach--they celebrate every small win with us, and that has made all the difference. Looking back, it's amazing to see how much progress he has made, and we are deeply thankful for the team who has supported him every step of the way.

So organized, always creative, lively, fun and interactive sessions. I have not found anything like it in all of Chicago and it is affordable, always a consideration when choosing therapies for a kiddo in need. They accept and bill insurance companies and are always easy to work with in every aspect. Very responsive to emails and questions which is so important especially when you as the parent might not know what might be going on or who to turn to with questions. I always appreciate that any request I have or concern to address, they help find a solution, have an idea or give a suggestion. They truly care about kids and try to help in any way they can. I have another child too and love that I am always able to bring him and comfortably wait in the waiting room without issue. I have no recollection of where I learned about the First Signs class that Little Giggles offers…read more.. perhaps following the location of the class. But what's important is that I did find out about it, and I am so glad I signed up right away. I've been curious about baby signing since long before I was pregnant, did a tiny bit of looking into it when the baby was cooking, and then it was furthest from my mind. First off, Meredith is a great teacher. She's patient, kind, and is really, really great with kids. The class I'm taking my daughter to has four or five other parent child pairs, and she remembered our children's names right away. Each class is a combination of song, story, and play. We start by saying hi to all the babies and then start learning our signs for the day, three each class. Meredith selects songs and stories that incorporate some or all of the words and I expect that the various modes of delivery may help children learn, or maybe learn more quickly. The stories also help reinforce the signs. Each lesson there are various toys that are there for play and/or offer ways for us to use the signs with our children; since a baby's work is play, this is yet one more method of repetition to help things stick. This is a short series of four classes. We are learning three signs per class officially, but throughout class Meredith uses various signs that I've tried to make note of as well. Throughout the week we're trying to incorporate the signs into our everyday life when we remember. I am looking forward to the remaining classes and will be keeping an eye on her course offerings.

After those six weeks, I was moved to a short-leg cast, and was referred to physical therapy to start range-of-motion (ROM) exercises. Never having been to PT, I did not know what to expect, but I saw this Athletico was close by, so I decided to try it out. I submitted a request for an appointment through their website, and received a call that same day from Elise. Elise was extremely helpful and ensured I got on their schedule right away. I started PT about two days per week, starting with ROM exercises, then moving on to weight-bearing, then running/jumping. All-in-all, since I did not have surgery, my recovery was much longer, but we got through everything starting in February, and I was discharged in October. I can't say enough great things about this Athletico location. I came in completely nervous about this experience, but Ryan and Mitch were able to calm my nerves immediately and they helped me along every step of this tough journey. Being in PT for eight months, you start to build a relationship with those helping you out, and that's extremely true when it comes to this Atheltico location - all the staff, from my physical therapist, Mitch, to the few sessions I attended with Ryan, along with the amazing assistants - Maggie, Olivia, and Maria who helped me along the way - I always felt like friends with all of them while I was here. While they maintain professionalism, they also ensure to treat you not just as a patient, but as a friend, and it's clear that they truly care and want to see you progress in the journey. While nobody really "enjoys" going to PT, I'd say the treatment, services, and staff at this location made me truly enjoy being there and working towards my goals of being back to 100%. From someone who came in on crutches and a knee scooter, doing exercises like moving my foot back-and-forth or picking up marbles with my toes, I'm now running, jumping, playing tennis again, biking, etc. I was even able to take a full walking tour through Italian villages and cities with no problem thanks to this amazing staff at Athletico. While I'm hoping I never have to come back in here (as I'm never trying skiing again), if I do have PT needs or know anyone who does, I will always recommend Athletico Lakeview East. Thank you, Mitch, Ryan, Elise, Maria, Maggie, Olivia, and the rest of the amazing staff I worked with, and alongside of, at Athletico Lakeview East. I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me through this.
