Sozo is an Omaha essential, especially if you're a student or work remotely. It is the perfect environment to bring friends and go for a long haul study sesh, or even just to hang out! The coffee shop itself is very big, and the seating is great and varied, whether you prefer a table or a cozy corner. It is dimly lit, which is ideal for those who study in the evening like me. It is also open later than most coffee places in Omaha, which is a huge plus. I have also been to late night events, such as a free midnight pancakes event they hosted around October. It was such a great experience, and the staff has always been very kind and welcoming. There is a huge menu, and the variety is nice because you can go back for another drink later on as you study. I would recommend Sozo to anyone who loves studying in the evenings like me!

Sozo Coffeehouse is literally one of the coolest & cutest places in Omaha. An underground coffee shop located in the Old Market, it is the perfect place to hang out or study. Couches, tables, or personal study rooms... take your pick!!!! Art covers the walls, and I'm just obsessed. They always have fun & festive specialty drinks too. Loved my iced strawberry cheesecake latte for Valentine's Day!!!!

Great quiet coffee shop! I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was super quiet - awesome for studying or working if you need it. I got their Samoa cold brew - like a caramel delight! It did take a while to get our drinks since the line was fairly long but it was so good! My friend got a mango matcha and also loved her drink :)

Went to Sozo Coffeehouse after a walk in the Old Market. I was really impressed by this coffee shop, it is underground and very spacious. Their coffee was delicious, I got a Dirty Chai Latte. They have spacious and cozy study rooms that you can rent for a small fee. They also have comfy couches and chairs where you can sit to socialize, study or work. The barista was super friendly, and recommended us her favorite drinks. I am definitely coming back soon.

Solo may be the perfect coffee shop. Plenty of space and seating to meet your needs. There are also several rooms you can reserve for private meetings or studying. They also have pool tables in the event you want to play pool outside of a bar setting. I recently tried the Sonshine (banana bread latte) and was blown away. Keep Sozo in mind when you're looking for a great coffee shop.

LOVE THIS PLACE! We stopped here because we had time to kill and saw that this place had couches and games. First it's underground which is cool on its own lol and it had a very chill comfy vibe. We played Farkle, had some coffee and just hung out. If we weren't from out of town I'd probably be at this place at least once a week!

This place is so cool inside. There are study rooms (which I've never seen in a coffee shop before), an art gallery, soooo much seating, a stage, pool tables, and just so much space for activities. The coffee was good and they had so many flavors too. Service was also really good. This is definitely a hidden gem of the area

Sozo is a great coffee shop to either grab a drink to go, hang out with friends, or hole up for hours to get work done! I favor it when I want to be productive because there is an insane amount of seating (mixture of sofas and tables) as well as private study rooms for rent. It's located in a basement, which is cool for a bit of a different vibe. I've really enjoyed every drink I've tried here, including their strawberry matcha latte. Their menu is extensive, so there is something for everyone, whether you want a classic or a fun seasonal drink. The service has also always been awesome and the baristas are keen to recommend drinks if you're indecisive. Stop by if you're in the old market area!

Sozo Coffeehouse has to be my favorite place in downtown Omaha to get a coffee and study. This is a one of a kind coffee shop to me where there are pool tables, study rooms, a stage, lots of places to sit, SO many syrup flavors to choose from, and lots of events. There is also lots of art displayed which you can purchase which I love! My favorite spot to sit is on one of their comfy couches. They also have a conference room as well as other options of renting space inside! I love the lights on the ceiling in the main seating area. There is free wifi to use for studying, working, or whatever else you may need wifi for (network name and password are included in my photos). I have seen that they have open mic nights, salsa nights, movie showings, and more events! The service has always been great even when super busy. I wish that they had their events on their website as well information about how amazing this place is on their website ( the get involved tab has a default description not relevant to their business). I truly love coming to Sozo with classmates and friends. Their white chocolate latte is very good! If you are in downtown Omaha and want some good coffee or tea, Sozo is the place to be!

First time visit and price was under $5 for blended iced coffee. Lots of flavors to choose and I got a combination without extra charge!

Does the peppermint Bark drink contain caffeine?

Hello Sabrina! It depends on what you order that has the peppermint bark in it. The sauce itself does not have caffeine. If you order it in a Flavored Latte it will have espresso (but can also be ordered as a decaf flavored latte). If you do not… Read more

There are many permanent displays about Omaha history, and there are train cars you can walk through; enthusiastic docents are often there to answer any questions. There are temporary exhibits here as well, and in the summers they will have something cool that the whole family will enjoy. There are lots of programs here, many of them free with admission or membership. I do recommend getting a membership if you think you might want to come at least a couple times in a year. And you probably will want to! There is a soda fountain/snack bar area. The ice cream is great! The food is okay. It's a museum and not a lunch destination. It was built in 1931 in the Art Deco style and designed by LA architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood. The museum has lots of photographs and examples of materials used that would be a delight for all those interested in architecture. Downstairs was the train depot and where you can go inside and sit in the train cars. Most of the rooms appeared to be part of their permanent collection, but part of the downstairs area has rotating exhibits. The exhibit on display was "The Negro Motorist Green Book" which you may be familiar with if you watched the 2018 film "Green Book." I had a great time at the museum and would return, although check the calendar as I went when the NE SciFest going on and I prefer calmer museum visits. Still, definitely would recommend checking it out!

Completely suitable to host a huge wedding, FWIW. The decor includes local Italian culture and pictures of Italy proper. They have a huge kitchen. Restaurant sized. There's a bar on the opposite side of the building. Its events get popular quickly. We always arrive promptly now. The one time we came an hour into the event, the line was across the long parking lot and down the street. It moved quickly enough, though, and we met plenty of very friendly, cheerful folks. Do bring cash, or pray that the ATM inside hasn't been used up! It's a cash feed to get in, and a cash bar. I find this to be of no inconvenience, as they declare this when announcing their events, and happy patrons, like me, further that detail. Well worth the visit. It's a delightful Omaha institution.

Check out their hours and days, that they serve. Best in Omaha..

They currently also have the space next door that they use as an event venue (such as open mic the Saturday evening we were there), but that place is available for lease. The decor is nice as well - simple, but cozy with a few couches and some board/card games. Their mocktail menu is huge! There are definitely options to fit every palate. I opted for Collin's Bouquet and Cotton Candy. Both were very good and would highly recommend both. One of the drinks my husband got, the Coconut Cherry Kiss, however, was absolutely delicious! I think it was both of our favorites and one I would get for myself next time for sure. The NA cocktails are definitely not an afterthought here and neither are they just juice full of sugar and more sugar. These are well thought out, have flavor outside of just sweet, and overall are a very good option for anyone who is opting not to drink alcohol, but still doesn't want to miss out on the fun! I'm excited to come back!
