I've been here a few times over the years. The coffee doesn't break the bank, and the atmosphere is nice. You can play pool and a few other games- even rent out study rooms for a few bucks an hour. You can call beforehand to see if there are open study rooms as well. Best beverage is going to be one of their blended lattes. They can keep it sweet with whipped cream and sprinkles or they can give you a lighter version. The service is always wonderful. It's down in the Old Market so it's a nice place to cool down, and a great pit spot if you're out exploring. They is occasionally concerts so if you don't want to rent a study room but are looking for a quiet place, check beforehand. It's a little off the beaten path and harder to find unless you're looking for it specifically, but once you stumble into this basement coffee shop, you'll find that it's a great place all around. Walked in mid afternoon and there wasn't too many people inside and it was very quiet. We were greeted by a very friendly barista that made us feel really welcome. I had the banana bread latte and wasn't too impressed with it, but may have just been the flavor combo for me. The space is huge and lots of places to hang out and study. The only thing I didn't like was the tables and chairs. The tables are small and circular so if you wanted to study there wasn't much room to lay your stuff out. The coffee shop itself was cool but could have done with some more trendier tables and chairs. They do have private study rooms for rent which is a neat idea with tons of entertainment that takes place on their stage area! read more

Although I've moved, I just realized I didn't review Sozo before I left Omaha! Sozo has the hands down, absolute best almond milk London Fog I've ever had - it's called an Almond Fog. When they make it, they ensure it steeps for an appropriate length of time before finishing the drink and serving it. (I'm my experience, most places do t give it time to stew before serving). Please, give it a try. The space is super cool - lots of different areas to sit and enjoy your drink, talk, study, etc. there's a larger room with a stage, great for watching local musicians. Smaller rooms are available to be rented out which is perfect for smaller meetings and gatherings. The main room (when you first walk in) has billiards tables, and there are board games spread out. I definitely miss this coffee shop, and have yet to find one that gives me the same feeling in Denver. read more

This is an absolutely great coffee shop! It has lots of open space, comfortable chairs/sofas that might even be more comfortable than the sofas people have in their homes, great background music, lots of free board/card games, and very talkative and fun baristas. The coffee is also very good! The names are very creative and the different combination of flavors are an interesting change of pace from the norm. The only "odd" thing about this coffee shop is that it is in the basement of a downtown building. But, if you can find the stairs and pay the darn downtown parking fees it is a great place to study, meet up with colleagues, or just drink coffee. read more

One of my favorite coffee places to come to when I'm downtown. Very cozy, great food and coffee, and even art.

We were in town for the weekend and stopped here on a Friday night. The coffeehouse is below street level, but easy to find and well lit. Inside, we were surprised at how huge it was. There was a back room all set up for a painting event, and a really large side room where there was a private party getting started. And there was still plenty of space and tables and seating in the main room for anyone who wanted to hang out. We were immediately drawn to the games selection - this would be the perfect place to get a warm drink and enjoy a day playing a game. We ordered the Sonshine which was advertised to taste like banana bread. And, it tasted exactly like banana bread - I was amazed! The smell was fantastic as well. The staff was very friendly and if I lived closer, this would be a place that I would visit regularly. read more

The coffee was good, nothing too special but I loved how the offered oat milk unlike other coffee places. Sozo is a unique place. It's a mixed use kind of space- part coffee shop, part casual community gathering space. It took me a moment to wrap my mind around why it felt a little... strange... in the space. As it turns out, the space doubles for a church sometimes. There is music equipment around and lots of cozy couches. The best part is that they have quiet study rooms you can rent for a couple dollars an hour. Certainly not the best coffee around, but the space is welcoming and gets the job done. The staff is friendly, and you can study comfortably here. read more

A nice coffee shop and a great place to hang out. My regular is the Fruity Pebbles-an Italian soda. The staff is always friendly. The space is great. They often have local artwork displayed around the shop to give a nice Omaha flavor. They have a large amount of space ("the largest coffee shop in Omaha") so it offers a lot for those like me who like to just sit and write quietly. If needed, they also offer comfy private rooms for a cheap rental fee. I happened on this place while traveling to Omaha. The coffee house is located in the lower level of a building in Old Market or the restaurant/ bar district downtown area and provides a great relaxed feel whether just grabbing a coffee or wanting to meet with friends. I'm more of a cold beverage kinda guy and definitely recommend the smoothies. I have other friends that mix it up with coffee options and were impressed as well. A group of us stopped by Saturday afternoon around 3pm because we couln't get into the venue for a wedding reception (9-29-2018) There was 3 girls working, and I now have forgot there names, the store was busy and my first time in there, they we're wonderful, I asked questions about the coffee, they asked how I liked my coffee, and they explained about the coffee they had, I believe I had the brazilian and it was very good, I gave you a rating of a 5, because these girls we're so polite,helpful.
