I never would have known about this spa if I hadn't heard about it through a friend! It's in a residential area by Johnson HS, where you'd typically expect the management office to be. There is designated spa client parking and the interior is upscale and staff are professional. I went in for a facial with Ana Grecia, who was amazing- super sweet and very thorough. We discussed my skin history and what I was hoping to accomplish, and she put together a radiance regimen that included dermaplaning with citrus peel. She packed a lot of action in the 50 minutes and gave me some recommendations for specific toners and moisturizers that would work best for my issues. I noticed an immediate improvement in the texture of my skin, and am looking forward to product effectiveness and cell regeneration. The setting is relaxing and working with Ana was like catching up with a friend- definitely recommend her if you are in need of a facial. Location also does massages and wraps, and all services include access to their facilities (pool, gym, steam room, etc). Sandra (Mickey's Mom), the new addition in the Mani/Pedi Division can continue to provide Heaven and their Amazing Services to all of you. This Diva decided to bring in her 37th Birthday at the Spa of Cibolo Canyons for a day of pampering. I floated in after an amazing Lunch at Southerleighs downtown and was loaded down with pastries and French treats from the Lorraine Bakery. I was greeted with smiles and a Happy Birthdayyyyyyyyy Jackie and handed a refreshing Mimosa to sip on. Honestly I felt like I was in an Episode of "Cheers" where everyone knows My name. My treats were offloaded to the fridge so that they wouldn't melt and I was escorted back to begin my Pampering sessions. As I sipped on a Moscato, I chatted it up with some other ladies in the waiting area as we gushed over our relaxing day. They asked how I could still have on Red lips after having a facial, but then I explained that today was dedicated to a Massage. I recommended Omar to them who then greeted me with all smiles. As usual he transported me away from San Antonio with relaxing music, perfectly placed pressure and amazing convo. This massage was a scrub versus my normal hot stone but had all of the same relaxing effects. The pressure was perfect and as the hour melted away I could feel the stress and tension of 2015 disappearing with every squeeze. I pitched a fit as I normally do when my hour ended and Omar stated Ms. Jackie "You need to get the 3 hour"... I agreed and he slipped out to get me some refreshing fruit flavored water. After the massage I had the pleasure of being serviced by Sandra for my Mani/Pedi.. This was a first for me but after hearing that this was the woman that birthed my Angel Hands Ms. Mickey, I knew I was in good company. Sandra shattered expectations as she applied great detail to my hands and feet. She didn't hurt my cuticles as I've experienced in other salons and paid the utmost attention to these feet, as I wear combat boots at work and needed a little extra TLC. She was Amazing and her attention to detail left me speechless. This Birthday was one for the Record books and one of the staff members topped it off by offering me a neck warmer that was infused with peppermint as my foot massage began. Due to endlessly searching for a true spa in San Antonio, and at desperate times a decent foot massage, I became quite hesitant where I was going to not only spend my money, but my time. Let's face it; we can always make more money, but not more time. The Spa at Cibolo Canyon, is essentially the best spa I've visited. The staff is professional, and compassionate enough to talk and listen. The location may be far, of course depending on where one lives, but we'll worth my drive; 64 miles, round trip. Well worth the traffic and time time to get here, for me. Once I arrived , I was greeted by two friendly and "happy to help you" ladies, which were professionally dressed, as well as elegant. I was offered a variety of infused water and mimosas. What do you think I started off with? Yes, mimosas. Throughout my visit here, I was offered infused water multiple times to remind me of the importance of hydration. With mimosa in hand, I was provided a sit down to patiently provide me with full understanding of some of the additions that were offered. One of the additions I could choose from, which I did, were four..FOUR additional services for $49!!! I absolutely added that! Let's be honest, can we even go out for four drinks under $49?? My friend bought me a spa package for my birthday. We went together. I'm not a girly girl so a day at the spa made me curious and a bit nervous. Honestly, it was awesome. Felicia was my masseuse. Her bedside manner was awesome. I felt so comfortable. She was so knowledgeable about her profession which was great. She did an amazing job on my massage. Probably the best one I have had. Her pressure was perfect. She is strong but a good strong. And she is just overall warm and friendly. My facial and body wrap was next. I was nervous about this part. Roxanne put me at ease. I told her how I have never done this before and I dont know what to do. She guided me right through it. She too was very personable. I got an upgrade during my facial. I wanted the extraction. Best $15 I have spent. I have adult acne. It's under control but I still get blackheads. I felt odd asking someone to do that to me but Roxanne was super rad about it. If you ever hit a hiccup, let the manager know and she will take care of it immediately. It is a little weird in an apartment complex but that is starting to be more of a norm I think. I visited the day spa with my friend on Wednesday afternoon with a groupon for 3 hour-long services: massage, facial, and body wrap. Their website says it's a $475 value, but we paid $79.20 (20% off the $99 posted on groupon). This groupon has been available for the past 3+ years with no fine print saying first time clients only. The whole experience lasts for 2.5 hours because the body wrap and facial are done simultaneously. If google maps takes you to an apartment complex, you are in the right place. The spa is literally part of an apartment complex where the leasing office would be. The interior looks much nicer! My friend and I alternated between the treatments. I did the body/wrap facial first and my friend got a massage first. We switched places after the first hour with a transition time in the middle where we got to change in to nice soft white robes and flip flops and got some cucumber water before they called us back again from the secluded waiting room. Body wrap: The esthetician will give you a disposable set of panties and a small towel to cover the chest. You stand on a towel while the she uses a scrub to exfoliate the torso, arms and legs, then applies some kind of gel that's supposed to draw out toxins. They will then wrap you up with a roll of cellophane wrap that is skin safe. The arms, legs, and torso are wrapped separately, so you are not mummified. You can still walk around and maybe do a little dance. I did not feel any burning sensation or pain. It just felt like I was wrapped up like a piece of meat. After the wrap is complete, you lay down on the heated table under a blanket with the wrap still on. They will set a timer and continue with the facial while you are wrapped up! Facial: My esthetician was the same person who did the wrap. She was very talkative and personable. I wish I could remember her name. She examined my skin and noted the problem areas before deciding which products to use. She used 2 different cleansers on my face and neck, then a scrub, then a soothing mask (burned a bit, but I have sensitive skin). She also used some kind of Clarisonic device to clean my pores during the cleansing part. I did not appreciate her using it on my neck because I think it's a delicate/sensitive area. I think she did a really great job and my skin was noticeably more smooth and radiant afterwards! I would definitely come back for that facial (probably with a groupon). My friend did not enjoy the facial because it did not include a facial massage or extractions. They charge extra for that kind of stuff. I thought it was great! Massage: My friend and I both had Ashley as our masseuse. She worked on my friend first and worked out all her knots. My friend was very pleased with the massage. I went after her and did not get the same kind of relief. Maybe she got tired working on my friend's knots. It was a good Swedish massage with moderate pressure. I fell asleep in the last 10 minutes of it. It was nice and relaxing. I thought they would treat us differently for bringing in groupons, but it looks like most of their clients are groupon clients. We didn't understand the benefits of the body wrap and felt it was useless. I want to skip the body wrap next time if possible. Since my Groupon disaster, I have seen them trying to hock more Groupons at even higher prices. Ridic! Michelle H. certainly must work at "SCC," as this place does not even come close to Woodhouse or JW. Plus, what reviewer provides such a detailed description of where to park and then provides an analysis of the "Top 40" music selection playing overhead "in case you forget your iPod?" First, it's very odd to walk into a leasing office of an apartment complex for your spa day. The massage was amateur at best. The changing area was worse than a gym locker room, and the showers were barely functional. No soaps, but we did find a mostly empty bottle of Bath & Body Works shower gel that sufficed. The handle fell off the faucet mid-shower. The amenities were a total joke. First you have to walk through this back area with washers and dryers running at full speed (I guess we should be glad they wash the towels?) It was clear we were just using the apartment complex's gym, spa and steam room. I split a $179 Groupon with a friend, and so my total was $90. What a waste! read more

Front desk and clinicians were friendly but the quality seemed beginner level and not professional technique at all. Also it was just odd walking into a apartment leasing office area. The below reviews were correct and I should have checked Yelp before buying the Groupon Facial was great and relaxing Massage felt very rushed, minimal questions were asked and it wasn't even the full 50 min service. Also machines in the room were load and kept going off so very difficult to relax. I went to get microdermabrasion I think it is called where they scrape the top layer of the skin off about a week ago. I have gotten facials before and they normally talk to you about your skin, recommendations, and just talk in general. The lady I had was very uniforming to me about anything really. Other people I know have gotten the same thing done and have had no complaints but the thing that was the biggest issue was I had bumps. Now I don't know if they were razor bumps but it definitely wasn't acne. My face feels like there are little scabs on it. I knew the lady was going a little too hard for my taste but I am not the expert. Instead I got a swedish massage, and when I asked the lady if she could work on my shoulder with more pressure, her response was "do you want to upgrade to a deep tissue for 12.99?" 2nd time, on my lower back if she could use a little bit more pressure, same response... "ok. did you want to upgrade to deep tissue or not". She sounded irritated. It was awkward as I lay there on the table. I didnt get my hot stone and the jacuzzi did not work on Saturday. I'm so glad my first ever spa experience was here at Cibolo Canyon. My aesthetician, Maya, was so incredibly great. She paid attention to every detail, made me feel comfortable and completely relaxed, and was clearly an expert at what she does. The products they use are all organic and local which is another huge plus! I can't remember the name of my massage therapist, but she was also so amazing! I bought a groupon ticket for $99 for a massage, facial and body wrap. The massage was amazing. Ashley did an amazing job with the knots and spend a lot of time around my upper back and shoulders. They give you luxury robes and Sandles in between both treatment. The facial was ok but I have had better ones before. It was my first time getting a body wrap and it was an interesting experience. So I'm pretty sure this place is running a Groupon ponzi scheme because there is NO WAY this place would stay in business otherwise. I purchased a $179 "Pure Bliss Spa Package" for myself and a friend which was supposed to include a 50-minute hot stone massage, an aromatherapy scalp and hair treatment, organic back exfoliation and ecofin paraffin foot treatment. If you want to know what I received, simply look at Al B.'s review. Seriously, it was 50 minutes of the "masseuse" rubbing hot stones up and down my body in what could only be billed as a massage technique learned from a video and then quickly slathering some rough salt mixture on my feet, spritizing my head with oil and then telling me I was "done." Huh? My 7-year old nephew could've done a better job with two rocks, sea salt from the cupboard, and a bottle of cheap perfume. The "amenities" were a complete joke. The spa basically set up shop in an apartment complex and then decided to mooch off of their fitness facilities and pass it off as their 11,000 square foot, neoclassical temple of relaxation. Their words, not mine. I sh*t you not. It's odd to have to walk through a gym full of sweaty, grunting people while wearing your bathrobe and bathing suit - oh yeah, that's the only way to get to the jaccuzzi and steam room. Again, I sh*t you not. The steam room reaked of mildew and steam was emitted like a blow-torch from some device in the wall. My friend and I could only stay in there for 5 minutes before deciding that we were probably going to develop Black Lung if we stayed much longer. And folks, ask yourselves which one of the previous reviewers probably stayed in the steam room too long because one of these things is not like the other. read more

Sail away, sail away, sail away...(cue Enya music). When I opted to get a massage or have a spa day, I had been between Lantana at JW Marriott (better) and Woodhouse Day Spa (convenient locations). Having now been to SCC, I think that I may have a change of venue. SCC is directly located off of Bulverde Rd., however, it is situated in front of the Mansions apartment complex, which upon arrival is a bit confusing, but you simply park in the designated SCC parking spots to the side. Immediately when I stepped in I was greeted with a warm welcome and an offering of water (in yummy flavors), tea, and even mimosas (!!!). That's how it's done, ladies! The setup and decor of the spa is both serene and inviting. There is a lot of open space, and everything seemed clean and well-organized. I intentionally arrived about 1 and 1/2-hour early so that I could take advantage of some of the amenities that they offer. I was given a tour of the spa as well as a locker (with key, so you don't have to bring your own lock; nice!). The lockers are spacious with shelves and hooks, so I was easily able to fit in my purse, shoes, and gym bag inside. They also provide a robe, towel, and flip flops in the locker. So after I got setup, I hit the fitness center, which houses a ton of equipment: treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals all with Cardio Theater; various weight machines; and freestanding weights. All of the equipment that I used was in near perfect condition, and everything was spotless (side note: They are attentive to cleanliness at SCC. From the fitness center to the lounge to the restroom, I always saw someone picking up, cleaning, etc.). I brought bottled water, but in case you forget, they also have soda (with water, etc.) vending machines alongside the equipment. They also have Top 40 Pop music playing overhead in case you forget your IPod and need some jams to work it out to. Adjacent to the fitness center is also a pool, steam room, and jacuzzi. Had I come in earlier, I would have taken advantage of at least one of those as well, but I'll make sure to keep that in mind for future visits. After my workout, I headed back to the lounge and took a shower. They have two very spacious showers available. While there are hooks for your towel and robe, there is not a shelf or hanging caddy to place toiletries, so make sure that you bring a shower caddy to house your things. I definitely wanted to soak in my experience at the spa, so I took a long shower. The water pressure and temperature was consistent throughout, and again, I just loved having all of that room! I was then ready for my massage. My masseuse (Paige) was extremely personable and made the experience a treat. I had a body scrub, a 50 minute hot stone massage, scalp massage, and paraffin foot treatment. Paige asked me my preferences and went to work. The experience was divine. I was pampered and felt immensely better afterward; so much so that I booked another appointment! With its layout and amenities, the spa itself is similar to my experience at Lantana (and better than Woodhouse), but in my opinion, the service is what set itself apart. There were a number of guests visiting the place, but because everything was so well-run, there were no wait times. I felt well taken care of and appreciated the effort and level of attention to detail exhibited here. Also, they offer great deals both on site and online . Rather than simply hosting discounted events from month-to-month, which Lantana does frequently but Woodhouse does rarely, SCC has a number of special offers, deals, and packages all of the time. For example, for simply signing up online, they give you $20 off toward your next visit. You can also receive a discount if you are staying at JW Marriott or Hyatt by just simply showing your room key. So be sure to check out their website and/or phone them to maximize your money's worth. Their pricing is reasonable and affordable. Because I enjoyed my experience so much, I left with a discounted massage package and a free gift. I look forward to visiting SCC again next month! Side notes: If you would like to utilize the amenities that I mentioned above, make sure that you factor that time in. Of course you can access those amenities after your services, but I found it to be more feasible (and relaxing!) to work out first, shower, and then have my massage. First time at this spa and overall my experience was excellent. I read the reviews before going and was really thinking it was not going to be good. I'm glad to say I was wrong. I don't know what people are expecting that they seem to be so disappointed. It was a little different driving into the apartment complex but once you're inside it's fine. The spa itself is very nicely decorated. I was greeted immediately and given water. I did not have to wait long for my treatment. My children bought me the hot stone massage, facial, and body wrap package for Mother's Day. Jamie was excellent on the massage. Loved that she covered my eyes when I was on my back and provided eucalyptus for my sinuses when I requested it. Brittany also did an excellent job on the facial and body wrap. Everyone was courteous and friendly and I will be returning. I've already bought my next package. No place is perfect so here's the drawbacks - they want you to add/upgrade your services so they asked me about it several times during my visit. They were nice about it but once is enough. The locker room does not have a place to sit down and do your makeup and hair. Lastly, it was a little noisy from traffic outside and people in the hallway occasionally but music was loud enough to help with that. My experience here was also because of a Groupon. Had I known it was a club house to an apartment complex, I would have not picked this place but it was a gift and I didn't have the opportunity to check Yelp before it was purchased for me. Pulling up, you defiantly wonder what you are getting yourself into but once you walk in, you basically forget about all that. The staff was very friendly and I was shown to the locker room to change into a robe. I wasn't crazy about the locker room experience because it's also a thoroughfare for staff. There was no privacy at all. After this, I was put in a waiting room where I was taken back for my body wrap and facial. The body wrap was part of the package and while I probably wouldn't do it again, it wasn't because of anything they did wrong. It's just not my thing. The facial felt great and Shannon did a wonderful job. The was soft music playing and the scrubs and lotions smelled wonderful. The experience was very relaxing. After this, I was taken to the waiting room again and then off to my massage. My therapist was WONDERFUL. She did the hot stone massage but explained everything ahead of time and asked about problem areas. She did an amazing job. Great atmosphere too. The only thing I would suggest is that they keep you in the same room the whole time. It sucked having to get up from my warm comfy spot but I guess they have specific items in each room. Seems like there is a quite the wait for Friday and Saturday appointments. They were booked pretty far out. For the most part, I was happy and would come back. I too found this place via Groupon. It seemed like a pretty sweet deal - facial, 50 minute massage and body wrap for 90$. Plus, at the time Groupon was doing a special for 25% off local deals. It was an offer I couldn't refuse. I admit if I had looked at the reviews first, I may have chosen a different spa, but now I'm glad that I didn't. I did have some trepidation as I drove over to the place, which as others described, was located at an apartment complex. Granted, I thought it was slightly unusual but definitely was not a deal breaker; I also used to live at one of this complex's sister complexes and I know how bourgeois the company tries to be. When I first walked inside, I was impressed by how nice it looked. I was given a key for a locker and quickly escorted to the locker room, where a comfy robe and flip flops were waiting for me. There were also private changing booths for the modest, but as I'm used to changing out in the open at the gym it didn't bother me. I hastily changed and stowed my stuff, then went to go relax in the moodily lit women's lounge. There, I indulged with the cucumber water and lemon water that was freely available. Unfortunately I did not notice the mimosa flutes until as I was leaving, otherwise I would have hit that up, too. The water was very tasty and I'm going to have to try making my own infusions sooner than later. My masseuse's name was Faith, and looked a bit like Jesse Pinkman's girlfriend Jane in Breaking Bad. She was very mellow and friendly, and did a fantastic job working all the knots out of my back. I did not feel rushed in the least. I have had massages in the past, but never with hot stone. I have to say that now I am a fan. Then I was due for the facial and body wrap with Amber. She did successfully upsell me - but I had gone to the appointment full anticipating, and wanting, to pay extra for a lip wax. So I opted for that and the honey hand scrub, which was very nice. I have to admit I was a little disappointed that extractions were not automatically included as part of the facial as many other places do this, and it is actually one of my favorite parts of a facial. So I added that on, too, and Amber did a very good job with all of the services. She was very friendly and helped me not feel awkward about being undressed as I was. The ladies up front were very nice and tried to sell me on other packages for the future, of which I declined. These little spa escapes are rare indulgences for me, and I was very happy with what I got. So, to conclude, I have to say that I am very happy with the value and the service that the Groupon secured me. Amber told me that the salon always honors the Groupon's rates and it can be purchased directly through them instead of the Groupon website, which I may consider doing in the future. Having seen their non-discounted prices, I definitely wouldn't pay such a high price, but I would pay the Groupon rate again gladly. I felt it was worth it. It was a very soothing, relaxing experience, everyone was friendly and did a good job. Couldn't ask for more there. read more

I found this through groupon while staying at the JW Marriott. It was very close. A great deal. Beautiful spa but no frills locker room. Since I got 3 treatments for under $100 and a mimosa upon check in so was very satisfied. They do try to upsell but are very nice if you say no. My masseuse was definitely new and not so great with draping but again for the price- no complaints! I would definitely come back again with another groupon. read more

This was my first visit. I will admit the location was a bit different, but once inside I didn't give it a second thought. Everyone was friendly and I felt very comfortable, the atmosphere was very relaxing. I used a Groupon and did not feel rushed. Stacy did a great job on my hot stone massage. I'm not sure about why this place is getting negative reviews, but my experience was very pleasant. Yes, I guess it's out of the ordinary that this place is in an aparment complex, but the facility is excellent along with the customer service. My girlfriend bought me a massage, mani/pedi, and facial groupon and all three services were great! I don't understand the negative reviews about the dressing room. It did have a couple dressing rooms with curtains for clients to undress privately. Overall I had a wonderful relaxing experience and I would do it again. read more
