A friend was staying at the hotel (she managed to get a good rate for the weekend she was here) and we were hoping for a spa day together and couldn't find something last minute at the regular day spa I've been too on the eastside so she booked us here. Yes it was 50% higher than the normal day spa treatment on the eastside but after the treatment and experience quite understand the price differential. The lounge was quiet and sublime. The loungers were comfortable and I enjoyed the dried apples and almonds. The decaf tea that they gave was refreshing. The bathroom and locker room are spacious with beautiful natural light. The massage was the best massage I've had (a 50 minute serenity massage). It is nice that the tables adjust for the chest area to make it more comfortable to use and the masseuse Lexi had the right pressure and was so skillful at her job. She took away knots I never knew were present and the heated table and towels were lulling me to sleep and to a deep sense of relaxation I haven't had in a massage before. Early morning appointments are best. By the time I was departing the locker room was much busier taking away some of the charm and serenity. This is a true luxury experience with a price tag to match, but the quality justifies the cost. If you're looking to treat someone special (or just need a high-end escape for yourself), this place delivers. The dynamic pricing approach they have adopted seems rather tacky to me. I think Four Seasons needs to pick a lane. Either charge a premium (which they do) and provide a pleasant, luxury experience, including an easy, pain-free booking process (which they don't), or the whole thing is so utterly frustrating that it made me hang up the phone. I've stayed at several different Four Seasons properties before, but I've never had such an off-putting experience. I don't think that allowing each spa to be owned by a separate, independent entity is a good idea, as there is an apparent dissonance between the brand's cachet and the experience of visiting the spa at this particular property. read more

First time went there I saw somebody had scratched holes into the window frosting so that people in the building next door could see into the women's shower/bathroom. Every single window had a peep hole scratched into it - including the dressing room. I told the staff immediately. They were pretty lacksidasical about it until I insisted they cover the holes immediately. Second time went there, was a gift, I didn't choose it, but thought give it second chance. Window film had been repaired, but the steam room was out of order, and then went to take a shower and that stall, too, was out of order. They tried to give me samples of lotion and soap for "your inconvenience." I told them I didn't want it. How about money back because their facilities are a big part of what we're charged for? Had a great experience here. I was able to make an appointment for a 6pm Sunday service the day before for a deep tissue massage. Arrived at 5:15 to take advantage of the mens facilities which was well maintained and clean. There is no sauna on the men's side but the steam room was great. There were two showers, both were clean with nice water pressure. The massage room was perfectly lit and the massage bed was adjustable for that extra comfort. The massage was also great with the perfect pressure and the professional service you would expect from a Four Seasons. Will definitely be back. read more

This property is not living up to the founder's vision of "Treat others how you want to be treated." The hospitality is not the same. Valet's used to open your door for you, not anymore nor did they even try to hold the door open for me. It's the effort more than the act it's self and was a trademark for a 5 star hotel. All the staff used to have the same sharp suits, that's gone too. When I got to the spa front desk I noticed changes too. The person who greeted me was kind and helpful. The visit in the spa seemed to be headed in the right direction, or so I thought. The steam room looked like it was working, yay! When I got to the relaxation room I noticed it had changed too. The plants were gone and there was more furniture. It looks like they discontinued allowing people to order food or beverages from downstairs. But it looked like some people were ordering sparkling wine after their services. I didn't recall seeing it offered no did I see a way to order it. I guess you have to get one of the $500 massages. The relaxation room felt like a doctor's office waiting room with dimmed lights, tea and water. There were some dry snacks but they look like they're for display only. After I finished my final service I was looking forward to the steam room only to find an out of service note up that wasn't there when I arrived had appeared. Which pretty much was the topper on this 2-star spa experience at a 5-star hotel. I soon discovered why the steam room was closed and why I didn't get the full time on my massage. (It started late but ended on time. Funny how that works.) The spa manager was there at the front desk. He acted like I walked in off the street. How can I help you today? I thought to myself, Seriously?! I just walked out of the locker room. I let him know I needed to check out. Afterwards I inquired about the steam room. He claimed, they turned it on this morning and it didn't work. Unfortunately the maintenance team needed 30 minutes to fix it and they absolutely had to open on time. While my service providers were good as usual. It feels like the staff isn't being treated well and the new management is doing everything it can to charge you as much as they can. While giving you as little as they can in return. The golden rule doesn't exist here. Frankly at this point the steam room in the ladies locker room is starting to feel like the ice cream machine at McDonalds, perpetuly broken. I heard another woman in the locker room say to her friends, "looks like the steam room is still broken". Which is what prompted me to ask at the front desk. Needless to say paying 4 Seasons spa prices for Wal-Mart amenities is a no thank you. I still feel bad for the service providers. I had an excellent and relaxing massage here during our 5 day stay at the hotel (2 days prior to our cruise and 3 days after). I believe my therapist's name was Hannah and she literally had the softest hands of anyone who has ever touched my back - and I get A LOT of massages so that is saying something. It was fabulous. The spa itself is very nice --- it is located below the gym and has side stairs leading up to the gym and outdoor pool. There is a small retail space with tons of goodies from the Eminence Line and a few others (Farmhouse I believe) as well as my current favorite, Coola. The ladies locker room was beautiful - airy and open and bright with changing rooms, large mirrors with all the little toiletries you could need and a steam room and sauna. The steam room is tiled and lovely and HOTTT. I was greeted warmly - shown around - I put my things in a locker and changed into a robe and went to their zen waiting room and curled up with a blanket and had some snacks and coconut water while I waited. I did not have to wait long for Hannah who was polite and efficient. She explained the treatment and brought me to a nice relaxing room with a warmed table. I chose the Emerald Rain massage as my splurge which is described as "Designed to release blockages and sync the energy throughout the body, this treatment focuses on the alignment of the spine. The experience begins with an invigorating foot massage that encourages energetic release. Next, drops of essential oils fall like rain onto the spine and are then massaged into the skin using a gentle feathering technique designed to stimulate the central nervous system, leaving you feeling detoxified and renewed". I have to say - I was very pleased with my service and felt great. Hannah did an excellent job and was able to easily balance just enough pressure to really work out some of my muscle tightness while not hurting me or making me feel like I barely had anything done. I spent another 30 minutes relaxing in the zen room after my massage and almost didn't wanna leave - the chairs were comfy - the water was good - and the soft blankets were heavenly! I will absolutely utilize this spa again on future treatments and hope they are able to provide service consistent with what I received my first visit! What a pleasure! read more

Completely underwhelming for the price. I've been to a number of high send spas downtown at this point and today was the first time I ever left a spa appointment feeling blah about the experience - and that I (or, in this case, my husband as it was a gift) was grossly overcharged for the experience and services received. A few issues with this particular spa: 1) The desk is understaffed. There was one person at the desk and she was on the phone working on a booking - I had to wait while she worked on scheduling a massage (most high end spas have at least 2 people at the desk - 1 for phones, 1 for in person guests), 2) the person provided my with a robe that was far to small. I've actually never had this happen at a spa - most spas pay attention to customers and what size might be comfortable- they don't have you undress, attempt to put on a robe that is probably 6 inches from closing, make you get re-dressed and come out and then ask for another robe. 3) The commentary from the woman at the desk was insulting when I asked for a larger robe. For reference, I typically wear a size L/XL. She pulled out a robe and handed it to me and said that she "didn't know what size had been put in my locker but that the largest she had was a 5X so hopefully that would work." When I looked at her incredulously and was like, yeah, a 5X should certainly fit, she said "the robes run small." In the waiting area there was a tall (height and weight proportionate) man whose robe didn't close so he literally had to wear a towel on underneath. Maybe you need some larger robes? They were also ill fitting. I'm 5 '7 and mine appeared to be made for someone at least a foot taller than me. 4) Massage was underwhelming. Now I had arrived at the spa 3 minutes late - fully my fault (I underestimated traffic in the area, it took me 10 minutes to drive the final 4 blocks) but due to the waiting for the desk to get off the phone, being given a tour of the basic facilities (would have preferred to just get changed given the time), and being forced to redress and request another robe, my "50 minute" massage became a 35 minute massage - easily the worst I have ever had. 5) the spa allowed people who did not appear to be there for spa services in the spa waiting area - one woman was sitting there fully dressed playing games on her phone for about 10 minutes (even moderately priced spas don't typically allow phones in spa waiting areas) and another woman came in fully dressed for some tea. 6) it was, hands down, the most crowded spa I have ever been to at any price point. Not a particularly relaxing way to end your services jammed with 7 other women in a space 8 1/2 lockers wide trying to change. The most people I have ever seen in the changing room of any spa I have ever been to (including ones with much larger changing areas) is 3. It was wild how many people they had stuffed in such a small space. There were some highlights: the woman who provided my facial was outstanding and the pedicure I received was quite nice as well. For your money, Penelope and the Beauty Bar and the Elaia spa are both superior to the spa at the Four Seasons. read more

Made an appointment for their swedish/deep tissue massage combo, I was having some issues with my lower back at the time and it was causing me pain. I forgot the name of the gal who did my massage but she was great and definitely helped with the sore spots. After your service they invite you to use the steam room and sauna to complete your treatment. For my second visit, I had three treatments done: facial, massage and pedicure. Everything was amazing. Spaaaaaaah. The name itself evokes images of what I thought my time at the Four Seasons spa was going to be. And given I've used the spa facilities at other Four Seasons, I felt my experience here left something to be desired. Let's call it functional at best. Which is fine, but not what I was expecting for the price I paid. First of all, let's talk about booking an appointment. Turns out the phone number on line is wrong so when you call it, you go on forever hold. 15 minutes went by so I hung up and called again. Again, 10 minutes went by but during this call I got a recording telling me the restaurant was closed. Restaurant? So I called the main hotel number and explained my plight. I got the response I expected (this a Four Seasons after all) and I was quickly transferred to the right number with the promise that someone would look into the other situation. Appointment made, all I had to do was show up the next day. On the day of my appointment, I arrive to find no one at the check in desk. Odd, thought I but I stood around for 5 minutes wondering if I should be in a different place when someone did come up from the back. A cursory tour of the locker room ensued and then I quickly changed as all the delays had put me at my appointment time. My massage was okay, the therapist worked the areas I asked her to but again, it was very functional. And after my massage I wanted to have some tea or water in the relaxation room but there were no cups. I looked around, opened a couple of cabinets and finally flagged down someone to ask for some help. She said she didn't know but would ask someone. I sat there for another 20 minutes waiting for a simple cup. Surely the restaurant or someplace else in a building of this size would have a cup? Finally a cup was procured for me but they were still on the hunt for cups to put in the waiting room. Craziest thing I have seen in a spa. To me a spa experience is about relaxation. A moment to reflect in one's crazy life. Did I catch them on an off week? I have no idea. But all the hassles encountered with this one experience left me thinking I spent my money in the wrong place. This was just a spa. It was missing the "ahhhhhhh" part of the equation. read more

Fantastic staff here, from the front desk to the wonderful body workers they have - every one of them was a unique and great experience but I highly recommend requesting Navdeep for a massage if available. I don't know about 50minute massages really being the best gauge of any masseuse, it gives you a good sense but, it's not everything. I had 4 massages in my time here and every one of them was worth it, however the 80 min. massages were a dream (and I usually get 2 hours because that's about where I notice the affect on my body - I have some serious long term concerns that benefit from getting deeper than 50m can ever allow, I don't usually even sign up for something so short). The facilities are clean, easy to use, and though a bit on the pricey side (compared to some) absolutely worth it and I look forward to stopping here again! I would have taken them up on a facial or mani/pedi but they were all booked up, which I'm going to take as a pretty good sign. read more

The spa at the Four Seasons offers true tranquility in the middle of the bustle of Seattle. The staff there is excellent and greeted us as we entered. They took me on a tour of the lounge and the locker room and gave me a locker. While this spa looked similar to the other Four Seasons spa I've been to (in St. Louis), this one was quite a bit smaller. They don't have any co-ed jacuzzi facilities unless they're part of your service (they have in-room "water rituals" where you can have a soak in one of their jetted tubs). There is also no access to the hotel pool with your time at the spa. The locker room has a steam room and sauna. I had the hot stone massage and really enjoyed he experience. I think the pressure overall is a little less but the addition of heating stones was a very pleasant sensation. My massage therapist checked in throughout the massage and did a great job overall. The lounge was fully stocked with teas and coconut water as well as snacks to enjoy while I waited for my appointment. After my service I used the steam room in the locker room. It was clean and huge. They had towels as well as citrus water and cool wet washcloths outside of the steam room for use. My only complaint about the locker room is that I don't think the attendants were checking it frequently enough. I found that both showers needed to be re-set with towels and there were spa flip flops left on the floor from another patron as well as some towels left around. It wasn't a make or break for me but I noticed it. Overall, a very positive experience. I would return and would recommend it to others visiting Seattle. read more

I've been buffed, puffed, and polished at a lot of spas around the world, and as expected The Seattle Four Seasons Spa holds their own (somewhat). But at these prices, you'd be better served making a day of it for maximum value. Use their steam room, sit and unwind in the Relaxation Lounge, take a shower, gussy up in the locker room, etc. etc. We had a Amazon Local deal, which entitled us to: a 50-min signature service (I went for the facial), valet parking, use of the pool and fitness center (which I understand you do NOT get with just a regular appointment), glass of champagne (while we were in our appointments, they laid a beautifully set table in the Relaxation Room for us.. with our glasses of champs ready to go!), and an artfully packaged Four Seasons spa robe to take home. It was a good deal! It was perfect for a day staycation ;) BUT... (and this is a pretty big but), although everything was quite nice, i'm not sure it lived up to the Four Seasons hype. I definitely had my high expectations, and my facial was AMAZING, but the rest of the spa area seemed, well... small and not really set-up for a "lets spend the day here" kinda thing. And if use of the pool and fitness center isn't included in the price of a regular appointment, you might be better served heading across the lake to the Bellevue Pro Sports Club, as our little spa-ing group has done a couple of times in the last half of 2013. read more

I went to the Four Seasons for a facial when my skin was irritated and really dry. Pros: 1. The decor is relaxing, and there are amenities like cucumber water, fancy teas, and natural snacks. 2. The aesthetician created an individualized treatment for me, and my skin felt much better afterward. 3. They carry Skinceuticals skincare (which I like). 4. They have weekday pricing that knocks off up to 20% off the weekend-price of the treatment. Cons: 1. The sauna is very tiny. 2. The steam room is constructed in such a way that the ceiling drips water (accumulated from the steam) and it's VERY hot when it hits your skin. It's literally painful to sit in this steam room. I mentioned it to the aesthetician, and she agreed that the same thing happens to her when she goes in the steam room. I don't know if this is because of the tiles on the ceiling or what, but they need to fix this. Sitting in that steam room, being pelted by scalding bullets of water, is just unbearable. read more

This place was really nice! My husband surprised me with a massage here for my birthday and it was wonderful! They take you back and you get your own locker where you put in your own code for your personal belongings and a nice robe and sandals. You can then hang out in the private lounge area where they had coconut infused water, some snack (cranberries, raisins, seeds, oats), and magazines while you wait for your massage. They have a food menu if you want to order from the hotel and they'll bring it up to relax after your massage too. The massage room was inviting. The lights were dimmed and my masseuse offered a variety of aromatherapy scents to choose. You can also add 'add-ons' too such as body scrubs etc. They have a steam room and showers where they have towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shower caps. They also had hair dryers, brushes, deodorant, lotions, feminine products, and flat irons to use as needed. This place so relaxing. I spent about two hours in there total but you can easily spend longer and they don't rush you out, they let you just relax and take all the time you want. I don't know the price but it seemed to be worth the money. :) Oh and because we were "staying" there and using their spa we didn't have to pay for validated parking! It was $18/hr! read more

"Meh, I've experienced better" as yelp likes to describe a 2-star rating.. I agree. I'm a self proclaimed spa expert as I have had treatments and services in over 20 countries and honestly, this was nice, but nothing great. I went in with a Groupon which cost me $175 for a 50-minute swedish massage and included use of the spa facilities (sauna, relax lounge, and locker room) as well as a glass of champagne and free valet parking. Let's start with the facilities. It's a nice spa, nothing exotic, nothing super luxurious but pleasant. Staff were friendly and always addressed me as "Ms. C...." and used my last name (I'm not typing that on here because these are public reviews and anyone can be a creeper haha) I requested a male masseur as I have tight hamstrings and other problem areas and prefer some pressure. They scheduled me with Alex and he was pleasant and attentive yet the massage started out as what seemed like a rub... after about 15 minutes I got the courage to request additional pressure and then the massage got better. Again, it was nice but nothing amazing. Overall I have no complaints, just expected more from the Four Seasons and especially for $175 for a 50-minute massage. p.s. Groupon had the option of either a 50-minute massage, 50-minute facial, or an express manicure and pedicure. read more

Overall I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it to anyone. All of the people that work there are very friendly and professional. My 80 minute massage was among the best I've ever had, the relaxation room was comfortable. One unfortunate thing was that people in the gym upstairs seemed to be dropping their super heavy weights; the hotel as a whole should try to prevent that but wouldn't dock the spa for it. Don't bother paying for the express pedicure, it's $50 for a soak and paint which is way too much compared to pedicures you can get elsewhere for that price. The eucalyptus steam room was out eucalyptus oil in the spray bottle when I went in. Spas are already easy targets for nitpicking - but when it's the Four Seasons and you pay those prices, the small things should be mastered! read more

I booked a couples massage for valentines day and the front desk totally pulled a fast one on me. They told me it was 175 for a couples massage, and i was thinking, hey, thats better than any other place i can find so i got it, thinking it was still a bit expensive. I went to the massage and they went ten minutes less than the 80 minute massage, and weren't very even with their massages, doing different techniques on one side than the other. I come out feeling better until they give me the bill. 350 dollars.. are you kidding me? apparently its 175 per person which not one spa employee told me, even on the confirmation call they gave me. I wouldn't have booked it if i knew this fact. Not going there again, way overpriced for the amount of "luxury" they gave us. read more

What can I say other then it was OK. The facility was OK. The massage was OK. Just OK. The spa itself is pretty small. Only one set of lockers and hardly any room to even change. The steam room was OK. The sauna was TINY. You could not even fit more than two people in there. Me and one other person were in there and every 30 seconds or so someone would open the door and see there was no room and close it again so never really got hot. Kind of defeats the purpose. Also there are no real lounge areas. There is no women's only lounge area and the only area they have to relax is More like a waiting room. When we were in there people would come in and sit down I don't know who these people were but they were in regular clothes. It was the weirdest thing. There is no whirlpool. This place deserve more like 2 1/2 stars so I rounded up. Will I be back? No way. read more

Went for the "Alpine deep-tissue massage" for a sport-related injury and in preparation for an upcoming race. They ask you to arrive early to enjoy the steam and relaxation rooms, which I did. As another reviewer had mentioned, the steam room is nice, although the scalding drips of condensation falling from the ceiling were a little harsh. I would advise they fix that. Spent another 20 minutes in the relaxation room and had some tea, dried fruit and flipped through some magazines. Almost passed out from relaxation at that point. Had an 80 minute deep tissue massage in the Sage room from Stephanie and she was excellent. She is experienced and very friendly and I will ask for her again on my next visit. The Sage room is also really cool and has a great view of the new waterfront Ferris wheel. read more

The facial may may have been the best facial I have ever had. My esthetician was amazing as she was also a masseuse. Very effective, gentle and experienced. The staff is what you would expect for a Four Seasons. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that their facilities are nothing special. I LOVED this spa. I booked a diamond brilliance spa and it was amazing. First and foremost the staff at the four seasons was incredibly welcoming even when they found out I was just there for the spa. They offered me bottled water, snacks and took me on a mini tour. After I got in I was offered the comfiest robe ever and sandals. You can get as naked as you want but tbh you can just wear comfy leggings and a tank top and it's no big deal. Once in you go to a waiting area which has snacks and drinks and there you'll have your specialist. I don't remember her name I think it was Anna? She was a dirty blond thinner woman with an accent. I truly wish I remember her name bc her facial was amazing. I got the diamond brilliance facial which is around 250 and it was worth every penny. She took care of my neck and upper chest area not just my face. She also had amazing skin care advice in general. Also when you're getting a massage you're under a warm blanket so if you get hot easily you might want to wear lighter clothes or just undies. Overall I loved the service and the staff. read more

Navdeep Mavhll is simply the best. I took my parents to Seattle to deposit them on a cruise to Alaska.....During our short stay at the four seasons before the ship sailed, I had a massage by Navdeep....simply one of the best massages that I have ever had. Purchased the sweeties package. 50 min massage for ea totaling 300- I mean yeah when you hear the price you're like wth but you get there and it's automatic great customer service. you can enjoy the sauna ,steam room showers, locker room and you can also chill in the middle area where there's water tea snacks- snacks were ummm not for us lol . The massage was on point ! The setting was very peaceful. We were able to stay in the locker room to get ready with no rush or disturbance. Only downside was- we wished that when it came to the steam room, sauna etc as a couple we could be in the same room but it wasn't a huge deal either. Second if you were to buy A drink you would be charged the price of the drink plus 4 dollars then they add 20% gratuity ehhhhh yeah I believe for the amount spent at a minimum 2 drinks should be complimentary ‍I'm just saying. But overall we loved the experience. read more
