Booked a day pass expecting a relaxing spa experience, but it felt more like access to a standard hotel pool and gym rather than a true spa experience as advertised. The "lap pool" was 84 degrees which is way too warm for actual lap swimming. The locker situation was also frustrating. Day pass guests can only use lockers on the pool deck, not in the locker room, which defeats the purpose if you come prepared with clothes to change into after showering -- there's nowhere secure or convenient to store your belongings inside the locker room itself. On top of that, the locker room wasn't very clean and robes weren't provided. The pool area is open to all hotel guests, including kids, so it never felt calm or spa-like. Between the crowd, temperature of the pool, and limited amenities, it didn't match the spa experience that was advertised. I frequent hotel spas, and this was one of the most disappointing given the price. It would feel more appropriate at about half the cost, especially since parking isn't validated for day pass guests. read more

Love that Hyatt offers a Wellness Package that includes $75 for the spa or a restaurant as one of its perks! Booking is super easy on the website, and they let you know the specifics of the different services and the costs of them all right there on the site. I booked a 60 minute deep tissue massage (my first ever deep tissue), and Taffy was AMAZING. I was literally left speechless at the end of the massage because she explained step by step what she was going to target and some areas I needed to draw my attention to. We literally worked together to find and release knots, and Taffy made it known that my feedback and response to certain areas was highly valued. I loved that the massage bed can be adjusted, the blankets were plush, the robes are fantastic. The music is there, and it's not distracting. -- For those who'd like a step by step: Enter the spa, get checked in. Locker rooms back out and to the left. These are the same locker rooms that hotel guests use for the pool. Sauna, steam room, bathroom, showers are here. They give you slippers and a robe to change into--take your time! There's a reason why they say to come 30 mins before your appt. Go back to the front desk, you'll be directed to the lounge area with lounge chairs, blankets, small snacks, and beverages. I took my time looking at the Eminence catalogue and just enjoying the ambiance. Bathroom is here, too. My only grievance about the lounge is that the chairs have dirt / oil stains on the head rest part. I think a sanitary towel or regularly washing this part would be great. Your technician will find you in the lounge at your time, and you'll go together to your room! This was pricier than what I've ever paid for a 60 min massage, but you get access to the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, etc. and discounted valet parking. Totally worth it! Today was my first time there I booked a one hour holistic massage as well as a 30 minute hot oil, hair, treatment, and head massage. Andrew was my masseuse and he was amazing!! I will definitely be back! The lounge area was really nice with some good snack snacks such as chocolate covered cherries, and a nut mixture and several different teas to choose from. The music was very nice in the background and the spa was excellent! I utilized the pool, the Jacuzzi, and the steam room and sauna. The front desk was amazing!! This was my first spa experience, and I didn't know what to expect walking in. I honestly didn't have high expectations, but after a long several days of work, I was in desperate need of a relaxing pedicure and Elaia Spa gave me exactly that! I made my appointment for my pedicure online and had made a mistake with booking - they were quick to reach out and correct my booking. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and after reading several reviews I was expecting the place to be much busier than what I had experienced. The reservation does tell you to arrive 30 min. before your service begins, but this wasn't completely necessary from my experience and may vary. I did arrive early, changed into my cozy robe and slippers and was given the option to go to the sauna, jacuzzi, or lounge area so I spent most of my 30 min. in the lounge, and your technician calls you in when it's time for your appointment. The lounge was cozy - one of the things I was concerned about was hygiene though. I presume that each of the lounge chairs was "new" and "unused" as indicated by the nicely folded blanket at the foot of the chair. But, I saw multiple people who just sat on same the lounge chairs and rested their foot on the blankets without unfolding them, giving the illusion to others coming in after that it was "clean" even after they left for their service. Onto my pedicure - my nail technician was Thanh and she was incredible! She was so sweet and we had such a nice conversation. Sometimes I find that pedicures aren't as relaxing - technicians can be too rough and/or cut you... but Thanh was gentle, yet effective and really made my pedicure an incredibly relaxing experience. I had an injury on one of my toes, which I had mentioned to her beforehand and she checked in to see if I was ok and if it wasn't painful. I've visited this spa several times for both body and facial treatments. Unfortunately, the experience rarely lives up to the price. The massages are mediocre at best -- nothing memorable or particularly relaxing. And the last facial I had was a total disappointment: by evening, my face broke out in blemishes, which never happens to me. That treatment alone cost $238. I only return because booking a service gives you full-day access to the spa amenities -- including the pool, saunas, and lounge areas. My last manicure left my nails the most unhealthy they've ever been (breakage, peeling and cracking). I have no idea how this can happen after just one manicure. Since we are visiting Seattle I used Yelp to help me find a nail salon. I'm so happy that I chose to go to the Elaia Spa! What a treat! From start to finish my visit was perfect. It's located right across the street from where we are staying. After changing into a robe, I rested for about a half hour in their lounge. My nail technician, Ivy, came to get me when it was time for my appointment. The nail salon is in a gorgeous, relaxing space. Everything is so clean. Ivy is 5 stars! My Essential Pedicure ($60) was one of the best I've ever had. 45 minutes of bliss. She is so gentle. I was very impressed by the Sparitual nail products used by the salon. No strong chemical smells just a lovely, subtle scent. The Sparitual lotion used for the massage felt fabulous as well. After my last manicure experience, where a very strong chemical smelling top coat was used, I'm definitely going to start being more particular about what products are used by the salon. Hopefully I can find something like the Elaia Spa near where I live. I love my new mani/pedi! A great value for the quality of the services and the high-end facility. I booked massage on 30th of December with Elaia spa. That comes with complementary use of pool and steam room. I came early to enjoy pool. My massage appointment was at 4-45 PM and I came 2-20 PM. The locker rooms were very clean but locker was very small and my winter jacket and backpack hardly fit. Also, not enough chairs to change. Many people have to take their clothes and have to step out to dress up standing. Pool was very crowded and there were 4 different couples with 2 kids each. It was nightmare because even jumping/diving is not allowed this kids made a disneyland there. I was only one adult by myself and felt like squeezing myself in the pool and kids would throw their toys around me and splashing so close to my face even I swam in my own lap. Their parents were sitting on the phone and didn't care. Didn't see any member staff making them a notice not to jump/dive. Then FIRE ALARM went on. I was swimming and everybody start leaving pool area. I got out of the pool went all the way to my locker and grab my stuff and went to corridor when spa person told me to go back and dress up. I end up dressing being fully wet, almost broke my nails and amount of stress I got. I came downstairs last. At this point I could simply leave home and not wait. But I decided to wait. In 15 min they let everybody in but nobody apologized or explained what happened. Then I had excellent massage with Sarah! I really enjoyed it as well as relaxation area. At the checkout I ask what happened and told that I was extremely overwhelmed dressing in rush, almost broke my nails. And then when they let us in back in spa area I was putting wet swimsuit again. Ewwww. Unpleasant. And said that I could leave home when I was in lobby but decided to wait. I was hoping for some sort of reimbursement or discount because when I had chance I could leave. But I decided to stay and be responsible for massage appointment I had. No appreciation. But I was very stressed by this incident. The ambience at Elaia is wonderful. It is relaxing and the check-in and services staff are so wonderful. I had a terrific soak in the hot tub, which was a perfect temperature. The lap pool was lovely. Overall, the amenities are great for a full spa day. My issues began with my not being tall enough to hang up my items in the top lockers. I'm 5'6" and could not reach any of the hooks. There was only one proper changing room in the locker room that I waited to use for quite a long time, but ended up using a bathroom stall. I understand that people may be comfortable with no clothing in the locker room, but only one room for those of us who would like a little more privacy was not enough. Like other reviews, I thought the blanket situation in the lounge room was not sanitary enough. People were putting their feet on blankets and even covering up with them entirely and they were not changed out. IMO, the blankets are a nice idea, but not necessary since we have warm soft robes. My pedicure was an absolutely lovely experience. My technician gave me the best service. However, my toenail was infected within a day where the cuticle was clipped, which made me again question hygiene. read more

I didn't know what to expect during my appointment, I've been to plenty of spas and the services were inconsistent. Upon arriving, I was treated by valet! Too many kids, walked into the locker room and was greeted by a two year old, went to the jacuzzi and kids were everywhere, people constantly came in from the pool to use the locker room bathroom. There was a hole in the stale to the next, the only nice facility had a lot of women loudly talking , quiet room definitely not quiet. You weren't allowed back to this room until 5 minutes before your service so no time to unwind from the screaming children/outside world. There are so many amenities offered in this spacious & plush spa, and they have the best scalp massage in Seattle! I love relaxing in the lounge with a cup of hot tea and my freshly oiled hair in a warm wrap, shopping for earrings after a shower in the changing area. I found this place while staying in the Hyatt Regency when my air conditioning broke in late summer: I was referred by the concierge to Elaia for a massage, and I'm so glad I stopped by. I had a horrible experience. I came an hour early to enjoy the pool, sauna and steam room. But I ran into an issue with another spa guests. There were no signs regarding covid other then to wear your mask. I tried to use the sauna but the white lady inside shooed me away and shook her pointer finger at me. I went to the receptionist to ask what the rules were. That's when I was told it was 2 people at a time and she even went to the back to double check. I asked her to tell the other guest since she was already so rude. Surprisingly they seemed like they knew each other since they addressed each other by their first names. The receptionist came back and told me she was wrong and it was actually 1 person at a time. The rude lady then tried to discuss the situation with me. I confronted her that how she shooed me away was wrong. Her response was "I DIDN'T KNOW IF YOU KNEW ANY ENGLISH OR WERE EVEN FROM HERE SO I THOUGHT HAND GESTURES WOULD'VE BEEN BETTER." This surprised me and I told her well the boarder is closed for covid so only citizens here and she should've just told me in English to wait. And her response was "well I don't know all the rules are different in different places" and lastly she had the nerve to say "well we BOTH can learn from this". Damn if this spa has regulars and are friends with racist guests like this I don't want to support them. It's repulsive. What a great way for Elaia to prepare me for my massage. Massage: I came in for a deep tissue and got what they say is the "best" one is I want a lot of pressure. I wasn't impressed and I felt like their normal massage. So if you like lots of pressure this is not the place for you. It felt more like a oil rub than a deep massage. For an almost $200 massage I rather get a massage elsewhere. We ended a bachelorette weekend with several hours at Elaia and it was the best decision ever! Recommendation - get there an hour and a half before your treatment(s), enjoy the steam room and/or sauna, a dip in the jacuzzi (spa locker rooms are connected to the hotel's indoor pool), and then have a little snooze in the wonderful relaxation room, with complimentary tea and snacks and the most delightful chaise lounges I've seen in a spa. I had my first facial with Elaia Spa today because my esthetician from another spa moved here. The facility is great - you get a day pass access to the steam room/sauna, pool/jacuzzi, and the lounge/relaxation room (with snacks, tea, water) on top of your appointment, so highly recommend getting there at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment (I totally missed this and didn't get to leverage the perks)! Paige is amazing!!! I had regular facials with her at her last spa and I tried out a different spa in between but I just had to come back to Paige. She's very thorough and fully utilizes the time allotted to the appointment. I always feel super relaxed coming out of my facial and my skin always looks better when I see Paige. It's expensive, but, with all the facilities available, I think it's worth it. A regular 60 minute massage is $125 (as of writing of this review), plus a 20% service charge. What's great about Elaia Spa is that you have access to a steam room, a sauna, a jacuzzi and a swimming pool on top of a relaxation room. So, you can enjoy them before and/or after your massage appointment. My girlfriend and I spent about 3 hours: stream room, lunch (in the relaxation room), massage, lounging in the relaxation room. Although one Yelp reviewer complained how messy the (women's) locker room was, the men's locker room was clean and the towels and other things were well stocked. Also, the staff members were all very attentive and courteous. The only reason why I do not give them five stars is that most of the facilities are shared with other hotel guests (the locker rooms, the jacuzzi, and the swimming pool). Also, I don't mind the swimming pool being coed but I do mind when the jacuzzi is coed. I wanted to use the jacuzzi but it was just too awkward for me to get in since two teenage girls were already in it. I'm a man in his early 40s! Pool shallow at 3.5 and 4 feet but with lanes if needed and over 80 degrees. Hot tub also shallow and light jets but cozy. Lockers have keys. Could use a bench or two in the locker room. I love the Elaia lounge area and happy hour services! The lounge area is a great place to relax before and after an appointment. You can lay down, catch up with a friend (or space out), and sip on some water (or grab a small snack). You can also order a drink or a meal from the restaurant downstairs (Urbane), but I haven't done that because I've only been there for the brief happy hour appointments. I found out about their happy hour (mini-service + drink) specials through Twitter, I think, and started following them on Facebook because they list their monthly specials in the Notes section. They usually offer the specials 2-4 days a week, and each day it's something different. Usually the happy hour appointments cost $20, and I think last time I went they added an auto-gratuity of what I believe was 20% when I paid. My first visit was for the Sole Repair treatment with champagne. I wasn't sure what to expect, and was pleased to discover that I'd be receiving a foot massage. Hard to go wrong with a foot massage! I felt very relaxed after, and enjoyed relaxing with a glass of champagne while catching up with the friend that joined me for the happy hour. My second visit was on a moji-toes day. The mojito was wonderful and I liked my experience with the technician and the polish job, but was a bit bummed when I realized that a mini-pedicure means that you get polish, but no scrubbing or massaging or nail-care (except a trim). I'd rather get some care than a polish change, but... oh, well. Lesson learned. I haven't been to Elaia in a few months, but I look forward to trying more happy hour services! I'm kind of curious about the express oxygen blast... We opted for a spa day while staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8, and were so glad we did! First, scheduling the appointments (roughly a month in advance) was a great experience, I ended up chatting with the front desk attendant about Alaska (she was from Fairbanks, I was living in Anchorage), and she was so helpful in offering up options to make it the ultimate spa experience. For instance, I wouldn't have known they offered a warm oil scalp massage as an add-on to the facials without her help. We arrived promptly at the appointed time, and were immediately greeted and escorted to the lounge area where we could don robes and slippers to our comfort level. From there, our first attendants escorted us to the nail salon where we enjoyed a luxurious 45 minute pedicure with hot stone massages and a huge assortment of color options. We followed those with manicures that were equally as relaxing, and afterwards returned to the lounge. As an added bonus, I treated myself to an all-organic facial and it was lovely, with all the standard steps: cleanse, steam, exfoliate, extractions, moisturize, etc. But the best part by far was the extensive scalp, neck, shoulder and arm massage - it was all my favorite parts of a massage, without the less desirable parts (this is an unpopular take, but I don't see how it's relaxing to get semi-nude and have a stranger touch you, but that's just me). Someone broke into my locker and stole all of my belongings including laptop, phone, credit cards. Really enjoyed my time here. I scheduled the apple cider scrub and massage (fall seasonal service) and booked with Jen. She was wonderful. I think what makes this place special is the hotel amenities (pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna) and the lounge with snacks on top of excellent services. Sauna and steam room are inside the locker room so the lady and I had to part ways there. Not only is she friendly on the phone but also friendly in person. She made sure I had an enjoyable experience by answering all my questions about the spa and spa treatments. Elaia has a large relaxation room. This is great especially if you have a group of girls coming here for Spa Day. I remember I had a girl's spa day in Vegas. The relaxation room at Caesar's Qua was tiny and we had to stand because the spa was overbooked. Elaia did a great job managing appointments as there wasn't overcrowding. The jacuzzi, lap pool, and locker room is shared with Olive 8's hotel guests so it can get somewhat crowded and loud during peak times but at least you can escape to the relaxation room when it does. Out of the downtown hotel spas I've been to Elaia is my favorite when it comes to staff, treatment services, amenities, and atmosphere. So if you need a day of pampering Elaia is a great place to book your next "Me Time" appointment. read more

My fiancé treated me for a deep tissue massage here for the first time. After reading mixed reviews, I was a little worried. I'm pleased to say that I had a great experience. Front desk was professional and welcoming. I arrived a couple hours before my appointment to use the other amenities which include the pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, fitness center, and the relaxation room. The pool is open for hotel guests as well, but at the time I went there were less than 5 people. The locker room is spacious and had tampons, mouthwash, disposable combs, and more complimentary. They provide a robe and slippers. You can use these amenities from open to close, before and after your appointment. The massage was great. Jackie was super professional and made me feel really comfortable, and really listened to my areas of concern for my massage. There was some honey dew and tea, then chocolate covered cherries and trail mix in the relaxation room. I only wish there were more snacks/beverages to choose from. The 20% gratuity is something they will ask you for approval before they add it on, so you can definitely change that if you want but I really enjoyed my time and massage. This place is my go to for an once-in-a-while fancy treat with a girlfriend! I recommend coming in the morning on the weekends and it'll feel like you have the whole pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room to yourself with the occasional someone checking out the area. I wish I could do 4.5 stars. I've had a few facials here and it's not always consistent depending on the person you get. The esthetician for the most recent facial I had was a bit rough with my skin. It felt like she was in a rush. It just wasn't as relaxing and gentle as I would have liked. Bonus for accommodating nursing mothers though as I'm a new mom. The mens lockers are not full size, the steam room is not operational, and the pool/whirlpool is co-ed.....not that good of an idea since no one brings a swim suite. Nothing special about the space, it feels like you are in a hotel. As for the hotel, don't waste your time there, go to the Grand Hyatt. 1 90 minute holistic massage - 165 + 18% service charge 29.70 - this is the tip, never seen it done like this, I would have left more Total - 161.70 - that is pretty high for 90 minute massage, usually around $100 read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and amazing massages and facials. The facilities are beautiful, and I recommend coming early to steam, sauna, work out, and swim before your service. The extra stuff like robes and nice smells are nice, but not important to me (I just got out of the Marines and am pretty simple...), but mom treated me to a massage here, so off I went. First, I love deep pressure. Make those knots scream. I've had many disappointing massages where they just couldn't or wouldn't push deep enough. Not today. I was taken care of my Melissa, and she killed it. Absolutely outstanding massage. Deep fluid pressure, adjusting to my muscles as she went along, enabling me to relax and enjoy and not ask for deeper pressure here, lighter pressure there, etc... The locker room is nice, with showers, a sauna, and a steam room, all of which I took advantage of and enjoyed. The couple's room was very pretty, and the staff & measures were very nice! The best part was the actual massage (which is what you're paying for). I did a deep tissue (or sports massage) for an hour with my boyfriend and it was lovely. The price is great too as you can use the spa facilities for the whole day. Showers, robes, shampoo/conditioner etc were all great products. This was the first time I actually took a shower in a spa. The interior of the pool room could have some work done on it. If you want to make a booking, first call the hotel & ask to be transferred to the spa. The number on the website (or if you call directly) never seemed to go thought. I called 3 times, left voice messages and sent an email, and no one got back to me in a week. I ended up calling the hotel and got through straight away.
