Edit update: Owner Richard Borne called me yesterday. He is a gracious and dedicated businessman who admitted my review stung, but also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to help his staff learn & grow into better service providers. He really cares about his guests & his staff & I am looking forward to giving his business another chance. I believe he is addressing my experience directly & that his staff knows he cares about them and they will rise to the occasion to do better. I was happily astonished with his response, he definitely understands customer service. His staff and the community as a whole is lucky to have him. *Disappointing experience. I arrived 30 minutes early for the experience of relaxing in spa robe in the lounge, sipping champagne. I was served champagne, in the lobby listening to staff drama about a marble delivery gone wrong. I figured with covid, they weren't doing robes - but when I was escorted upstairs 3 minutes prior to service, there were several other guests relaxing on couches in robes. I mentioned to the woman who brought me upstairs that I was looking forward to that part of the experience. She said they only give robes to people who book multiple services. Though the guest she brought up same time as me had 3 services confirmed, and also wanted the robe relaxation experience, was still in street clothes and was also disappointed. The treatment room was chilly. The therapist lacked confidence & skill. I told her the whole left side of my body had a lot of tension. She spent the first part of the massage on the right side of my back. I wanted to say something, but realized she was following her routine. I could have used more pressure, and said so one time, and tried to offer encouragement when she did something well. I believe she did her best, but her skill level is not up to this pricing scale. She did not wash her hands prior to starting, or after finishing. She left wet towels in the sink. The Pandora was interrupted 2 times during the session for other users signing on (not on her - but goes to overall effect) Physically I feel better than when I went in, this was my first massage in a year & I needed it. But I could have gone to any street massage place for this level of service & pampering. I was looking for an upscale experience, Spa Atlantis did not deliver. When I checked out I was asked how it was. I said it was "only ok" and the gal shrugged and said "ya" and did not ask for any elaboration, she was not interested in any of my comments. Which is too bad, because I would have preferred to leave them with her than to write a negative review. read more

I booked my first massage ever here after reading some reviews, I've been experiencing a lot of back pain from waitressing and definitely have to start taking care of my body. I booked with Kirstin and without having to tell her *any*thing about my pain she located exactly where it was (even though I interpreted it as lower back she was able to identify it as a tightened muscle in my upper right hip especially. I can't describe how detailed and accurate she was with the way she helped work me out and even knew what side I sleep on, the other ways my bad hip affects my body (top left shoulder + neckpain!!), etc. She was like a masseuse and a chiropractor and a psychic all in one. I thought I was just prioritizing giving my achey body a little relaxation but instead I got that and more. I went home with some tools to help heal myself and a whole lot of info about how to keep myself from hurting, and she totally worked out my pain and I feel so much better. I'm making a follow up so we can keep working together and I can't wait!! Let me start this by saying that I am a complete novice when it comes to massages and spa treatments in general. It would have taken very little to impress me because I was giving very much kid in a candy store energy, lol. HOWEVER, even with my limited experience, I can confidently say that they folks at Spa Atlantis knocked it out of the park. I came recently with my mom and aunts for a girl's day to celebrate the youngest's birthday. I don't tend to venture into the Quarter to do much outside of special occasions or showing friends around when they're in town visiting, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Our appointments were for 10:00am sharp when they first opened. We were greeted by the warmest smiles a few beverage offerings; naturally we opted for mimosas with a water chaser (it's still a birthday celebration after all, lol). On our menu of services was a body contour wrap, a 50-minute massage, and a facial. Outside of a massage once many years prior this was my first time getting any type of spa treatment so excited is an understatement. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. Betsy and Sammie (sp) where my masseuse and esthetician respectively and were wonderful. Betsy is also an occupational therapist and offered some great advice on techniques to help after leaving the table. Sammie was also super awesome at giving feedback and answering any questions I had about my skin whether it was about my skin type or product recommendations for particular skin challenges. Also the space itself it just super inviting and relaxing. On the first floor there's the waiting area as well as the area for hair, make-up, and nails. Upstairs is the body treatment and facial area along with changing rooms/bathrooms. It smells lovely and you're immediately relaxed just from the aromatherapy alone. The massage table itself warms up. I can't say enough nice things about this place. It is a little investment, but can you really put a price on treating yourself (don't answer that, lol). Schedule a makeup service (eyes only) and hairstyle. I loved the hairstyle! I was nervous that it wouldn't last because of the humidity of the city but it was intact for hours. On the other hand, the makeup was not worth what I paid for. I had lash glue all over the lid and the lash at the end came apart. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. This review is strictly for the nail service I received. I booked a mani & pedi service here and it turned out to be the worst nail service I've ever received. The nail technician cut me and made me bleed which can lead to infections. I asked for a French tip and it wasn't until the end of the service that the tech told me that they don't really know how to do French tip. You can see that the French tip isn't lined up, there's polish on my fingers and I'm bleeding. And to top it off, the mail polish started coming off just a few days after. read more

Cheyenne does the best gel manicures. Very attentive to detail and super sweet.

Sami gave me an amazing facial. Her hands were the perfect amount of pressure. Afterwards, my skin felt like was floating, and my friends said I was glowing. Definitely worth it. Also, super clean facility. read more

The ambience of this spa is not quite relaxing. Hot water was not working during my visit. Neither was the elevator. More amenities are needed. Robes and slippers were placed anywhere , hard to decipher the clean from dirty. read more

I came here to get ready for my cousin's wedding. Initially planned to do a wax and nails, but then added on a blow dry and curls due to the high quality of the service I received. I was pampered for 4 hours and spent about $200 which I consider to be a steal in this economy. It's rare that I have a kidless Saturday afternoon so when in NOLA my friends and I decided to take advantage by booking massages. I turned to Yelp and after reading the reviews was deciding between an appointment at Spa Atlantis and The Ritz. Based on the reviews I didn't think I could go wrong with either option so opted to book 4 massages at Spa Atlantis since it was $90 vs $160 at the Ritz. The people who work here could not be nicer. They booked 4 massages for me online. Easy peasy! When I had to cancel one of them because one of my friends decided to shop instead (her loss) they canceled it at the last minute for no additional fee. And when my now party of 3 was running 15-20 minutes late they accommodated and still gave us the full 50 min massage. They were just as friendly when we arrived in person. The actual surroundings weren't quite as luxurious as I was hoping, although it's accurately represented by the pics on Yelp. However, this ended up being one of the best massages I've ever had. My masseuse (how I wish I could remember her name) applied the perfect amount of pressure, got me to relax (not an easy task) and even cleared my sinuses (have had a horrible cold for weeks). I thought I had gotten lucky to have 50 min with their star masseuse, but my other 2 friends agreed this may have been their best massage yet. So I really don't think you can go wrong with any masseuse here. It's also a full salon so if they are half as good with hair and nails you'll be in very good hands! read more

I booked an 80 minute massage and facial for my birthday. I had never been to Spa Atlantis before but was very excited to check it out. They greeted me with a glass of champagne and brought me to the waiting room. My 80 minute massage was very nice but the room was warm. Not surprising since it's an old building in the French quarter during a heat advisory however slightly uncomfortable. I also could hear people in the hallway a lot. My facial was nice as well, nothing out of the ordinary. My biggest disappointment was that I was never offered a robe to wear between services. The last thing you want to do is put on your clothes after an 80 minute massage. I saw others wearing some so I guess they forgot to offer me one total bummer when you're spending $250+ for your spa services read more

I had this wonderful woman her name was Lucy she has magical hands in the perfect touch for one of the best massages I've had in a long time!!! Thank you, Spa Atlantis for bringing Brain Tap into the city! After several brain tap sessions, I am beginning to see subtle differences in my attitudes and behaviors. For example, when working in my garden the other day I grabbed a trash bag and cleaned up as I went along. I thought to myself - "why did I do that?" - my habit it to work until I am too exhausted to clean. I truly believe it came from my subconscious, inspired by my brain tap sessions. I will continue on with Brain Tap and encourage everyone to at least try one (if not more) session - the ability to do multiple sessions is a boon for those of us who live here! read more

This place was awful. The place was beautiful, however, the service was terrible. I called ahead of time to notify I would be late due to traffic In the French Quarter. I explained I was in route and trying to make it there as soon as possible. My appointment was at 6 but by the time I paid to park and walked to the location, I arrived at 6:12. On my way up to the therapist I was told I would not get my full 50 minute prenatal message because the spa closed at 7:00 but I would have to pay the entire cost. At this point I was aggravated because I would I was told this information before parking and walking and being 7 months pregnant. I was told because I was canceling and not rescheduling I would have to pay half price. I asked to speak with the owner but once Richard got on the phone he was so nasty. As soon as I said hello he stated, " well from my understanding you were the one that was late". At this point I was livid. The customer service was a 0. I will never step foot in this place again. I truly understand I was late but I called ahead, spoke with someone, but was never told I would never get my full service. Wish the my were more accommodating instead of rude. I under estimated the traffic In New Orleans. So the owner commented under this review and it states he was so professional but yet as soon as he came on the phone I was told " well from my understanding you were the one that was late". I immediately got defensive and yes had some words. His staff felt threatened is a joke! I'm seven months pregnant, literally out of breathe from walking. And with my 62 year old mother.
