I had to drive to Amityville for an Elite bash, and --oh, the horror!--my nails were disastro. Chipped, grown out, and, sadly, stained with leather dye from dyeing boots. Ack!! Absolutely could not show up with these disgraceful fingertips. I called Dif and requested an appointment, telling them I was about 20-25 minutes away. When I arrived, K was ready for me. He wanted to take everything off, but I asked him to please just do a fill and file, and he did!! He gave me beautiful, short, rounded nails with many coats of baked gel pale pink polish. I was delighted. While this took much longer than usual, I still had plenty of time to get to Amityville, so I got a basic pedicure, too. The pedicure was also great. No complaints at all. While it was more expensive than most for the gel polish, that's probably because my nails were in such horrible shape from the chipping, dye, etc. I was also happy to see water and nail drying spray, which I used on my toes. It's a clean, busy place. All the nail stations were busy when I arrived. Definitely make an appointment. They also offer other services, although I didn't read the list. I am thrilled to have found a nail place, and really don't mind driving to Patchogue, because I can get other stuff done there too, like get gas at Costco.

I have tried other salons and they all rush through and tend to push things on you like spa pedi's that cost $75+ At KT's you will get what you ask for without being "sold" anything. It included everything, cut & file, cuticle care, exfoliation, a foam masque, hot stone massage, and polish. My feet were definitely overdue for some love, and this felt like the perfect reset! The space is actually really big (way more chairs than I expected), they have a ton of nail polish to choose from ( I think the biggest selection I've ever seen) and they even had the cutest puppy hanging out, maybe a heads up if you have an allergy that might not work for you. Safe to say I'll be back. My only other heads up is, they have the TVs and a radio on all at the same time, kinda blasting, which for me is a bit overwhelming/overstimulating. She said it was clean, and then she cut my toenails without first soaking my feet. She did massage my feet well though, and I felt so relaxed afterwards. Few workers wore name tags. The only person I saw wearing one was Lucy. All wore masks. They do disinfect nail tools. There are many visible autoclave sterilizing machines. There was one in use on the stand to the left of me. There are two televisions facing opposite of one another in the middle of the salon. Most salons that I go to don't have any. I watched News 12 as Leana did my pedicure. The salon's floor and chairs are relatively clean, considering the volume of customers that comes in. There were collectively nine customers getting manicures and pedicures today around 3:30 pm; and there were three more sitting down, waiting for somebody to take them to a chair. The nail dryer station is outdated. I have seen more modern ones than that. This salon is located in the same shopping center as Staples, UPS and King Kullen. So there is plenty of free parking. Joyce's Tips Nail & Spa is not the best salon that I have been to, but I go there once in a blue moon when I have a nail emergency. I live close by, and one of my toenails broke this morning.

Long story short- I'm in the wrong for not having an alternate form of payment other than Apple Pay, Venmo & credit card- but it wouldn't swipe, they don't take Apple Pay. I offered to leave her my NYS Drivers License & "unswippable" card explaining "I'll run to bank (where I can use Apple Pay for cash)". She wouldn't take it, began yelling "you can't leave" which I DO understand but I'm offering you my id & card! I had no other options so I said she could drive w me? She followed me to my car yelling and recording (so embarrassing) ‍then went to grab my ID from my hand, now you want it? Sad to say, I finally yelled back "Do NOT touch me and stop yelling!" Or something to that effect Needless to say, I came straight back and found the POLICE THERE! Luckily customers witnessed it all, the police were LOVELY-huge shout out to the 4th precinct... but holy embarrassing! Ps- I had a BASIC mani & pedi... nothing special.
