I had my one year color maintenance today and booked an appointment to have my eyeliner done in May .. I'm so excited to see how my eyebrow/eyeliner combo will look.. I definitely will be spending less time on make up now and my browns and eyeliner will look perfect EVERYDAY!! This would be my third touch up with Sharon. Obviously, I am satisfied with her work otherwise I wouldn't be coming back. I scheduled a touch-up a year ago for my annual touch up in 2019, when it came time for the touch up, she said I didn't need it at the time and to schedule at a later time. Sharon is honest about her work, she will tell you if you need a touch up or not. She really cares about her clients and not out to make $$. I texted Sharon on April 26, 2019 to schedule an appointment for eyeliner tattoo services. She texted back on April 30th to tell me to call in and I did so to schedule an appointment for August 27th but due to my hectic work schedule, I called back on July 15th and 16th to reschedule. I finally got a hold of the her and we rescheduled my appointment over the phone to some date before 8/27, I was not sure of the exact date because I never got a text message (like I did previously) to confirm my appointment. I made several attempts to contact Sharon via phone call and text message on August 1st, 5th, 11th, and 12th to inquire about my appointment date but never received a call or text back. On the day of my appointment which I didn't know about because she never responded to me, she calls and chastises me for missing the appointment. She proceeds to berate me about how her time was exceedingly important and that I had utterly wasted it by having the audacity inquire about it, not get a response, and failed to show up. Yes, I should have written down my appointment date during the call back in July but she should have also returned my calls and messages. A confirmation like most other businesses do through text or email would have been nice and saved everyone a lot of headache. She lays the total fault of the matter on me but never for her inability to return calls. Talk about gaslighting. Never did she apologize for not returning my text messages or calls, a business practice that is appalling. I dealt with her uncivil and curt attitude because her work was good so I put another deposit down to make another appointment for October 14th. My work schedule got busy and I had to reschedule. I called in weeks in advance (September 18th) to reschedule so it wasn't like it was a last minute thing. It was rescheduled for December. Again, she was snappish and surly about it. My interaction with her over the phone did not sit well with me. I felt so uneasy and uncomfortable after getting off the call with her. I was no longer comfortable with her tattooing something permanent on my face. How could I let her perform a service that would last for years, especially when I did not trust her. At the end of the day, it is not worth it to go through with something that you know will go wrong. No potential customer (let alone a returning customer) should be left to feel unwelcomed or in doubt of the service that was supposed to be provided. Sharon, you kept my first deposit even though the blame lay 50% with you for not returning my calls and messages about my appointment (I'll take 50% of the blame for not writing it down the first time). The fact that you don't have any sort of reliable confirmation system for appointments is in itself bad business practice. This also leaves room for you to blame the customer for everything. Please return my second deposit for I will nevermore be a patron of your establishment. I'm all for supporting small businesses run by women but never have I've felt so disrespected by one before. I don't know why you're saying I didn't show up to my appointment if it's in December and it's only October. You're keeping a deposit for an appointment that hasn't even happened yet. I've been going to Sharon to get my brows done for about 6years now and I love her! Since 2012. She's so sweet and friendly and amazing at her job. I've never had a bad experience. I get my brows done almost every year and they always turn out perfect. If you're sensitive to pain you can just take Tylenol before your appointment and it's not so bad. They also have a good numbing cream. When you first get your brows done they tend to be dark and thick but it fades and gets thinner. No need to freak out. The place is decorated cute and clean. There's also easy parking in the lot out front. They have a candy bar and always offer you something to drink. Everyone there is super friendly. I've recommended a lot of friends to try Sharon and they're happy with their brows and I still tell people to go to her. read more

I came to Spa by Mode and Sharon drew eyebrows on me and at first, I was NOT accustomed to the shape. But she assured me that this shape was the best for my face, bone structure, eyes, etc. Sharon is very straight forward and can be a bit blunt to some people, but I really appreciated her honest and her professionalism. At first, the eyebrows seemed so dark and so harsh than what I was used to, but after they started healing and peeling, I was IN LOVE. Got my eyebrows done by Sharon a few years ago and I'm really sad to say she ruined them. She saved off my real eyebrows and placed the tattoo way above where they were... and they were soooo crooked. When I told her she said my eyebrows are sisters and not twins, and just brushed me off. I never went back for my touch up, I've just been waiting for them to fade and thank god they finally have. Everyone is human and we all make mistakes, but I wish she would have owned up to it like a decent person. I'm getting them redone today and my brow artist asked me who I went to bc they look terrible. I hadn't even said anything to her about what happened, so I just feel like she validated all the concerns I've had all along. I spent way too much and drove way too far to be treated like that. And with the whole covid it was delayed even further. Sharon is the ABSOLUTE BEST in the biz!! There's a reason gals fly from all over the states to have their brows done with this master. I've known Sharon for over 8 years now, first meeting her when I was doing research on the best brow tattoo artists in the area for family and friends. I accompanied my girlfriend for her first appointment (8 yrs ago) since my discerning designer's eyes could help her determine the best brow shape once Sharon mocked them up and filled them in. One by one, I was so amazed by Sharon's work and careful attention to individual brows that there was NO OTHER anywhere close to her artistry that I would recommend. Too often customers come in "thinking" they know what they want and like. But it's really not up to you. It's up to your face shape, your brow structure, your facial bones to dictate the best look for you. Everyone is different and therefore individuality should be prioritized accordingly. I can't stand seeing someone's tattooed eyebrows and instantly can tell who did it for them. That's not artistry, that's having a template, sticking to it, and not adjusting your work per your client's needs. It takes an experienced professional like Sharon whose meticulous attention for perfection is unmatched. I would know because I'm OCD and exactly the same when it comes to my design clients! 8 years, over a dozen referrals later and I've FINALLY decided to take the plunge and have my own eyebrows tattooed by Sharon. It took me so long to bite the bullet because I know how to draw in my own brows. Although sparse from years of over-plucking, it literally takes me less than 5 minutes to put my face on every morning. I love to change the shapes up, to match what's trending for the season so I never felt like I was the appropriate candidate for a full set of semi- permanent tattooed brows. Fast forward some odd years later and here I was, desperate to take the plunge after seeing how beautifully polished my friends looked time and time again. From morning, noon, night, gym, beach, tan, pool- they looked flawless and I was DYING for that "I woke up like dis" perfection! Of course getting older, you want the least maintenance as possible so I did it!! The procedure lasted a total of 3 hours + for mockup and actual tattooing. I didn't need any numbing cream (I don't think lol, I don't remember Sharon applying it?) and had it not been for us chatting during my session I would have fallen asleep I felt so relaxed and completely at ease. Although I do admit I have a high threshold for pain, so just know your body and prepare accordingly guys. Some of my gfs have taken Aleve or other pain reliever before their session and said they barely felt anything during. And now I just completed my 8-wk touch up and it's safe to say I'm in lallalalaLOVE with myself! I mean, my brows lol. But that's the thing about perfect brows y'all. I went to Spa by Mode, Sharon to do my brows. At the time I made my appointment, there was a 7 month wait period. So I waited, finally the day has come for my appointment. She not only destroyed my permanent brows, the way she dealt with me and her attitude and the way she carries herself is the reason I will never send her any referrals and will always let someone know about my experience with her. She's very unprofessional. I don't appreciate Sharon speaking a different languages in front of her customers. She is impatient, rude, sparky and the list will go on. She outlined my brows with eyebrows pencil. Once the shape was done, I asked a girl friend of mine who joined me at this visit for some advice on the brows. Sharon responded before my friend could give her 2 senses " you need to be happy with them, your friend may not know what she's looking for". Yes, they are mine, but my girlfriend will give me tips if they aren't matching to my face. Sharon made me feel rushed into making a decision. So finally once the shape was approved. She personally only outlined my brows and had her apprentice work on them, resulting in uneven brows. They healed in about a week or so.I certainly was not pleased, since the results were nothing close to being perfect. She messed up once I decided not to go back to her since she had terrible customer service and I wasn't about to go back and pay her bills with my future purchases. I went to another eyebrow tattoo specialist, to fix my brows and now I'm in love with them. But I was assured that it wouldn't be anything more than a scratching feeling. Upon coming in, Tiffany drew my eyebrows to show me what I would look like. I fell in love with the shape! I didn't realize how much the eyebrow shape could change your face. She then proceeded to do my brows and after she was done, I was so glad that I went through with my decision to do this. After reading all the horrific negative reviews about how rude and unprofessional Sharon was, I'd have to say, she showed me a different side of herself today. I believe in second chances and people make mistakes. We are all human, and there is not one person that can say they are 100% perfect. Life is always presenting you the opportunity to try again and make amends. She's a woman of her word and honored our agreement. I originally got my eyebrows done by Helena in 7/2018. I scheduled my touch-up appointment 6 weeks later. They even sent me an automated email reminder the day before my appointment. Everything seemed to be great until I showed up to my appointment and was uncomfortably greeted by Sharon's dismay. Sharon informed me that Helena's mother had fallen terminally ill and he had to fly back Vietnam. I expressed my concerns as a customer especially how inconvenient it was to drive 50 miles (LA to OC) and how inconsiderate it was not to notify/reschedule the customers. Sharon and I engaged in a very contentious conversation about upholding the integrity of her business, but she finally agreed to comp my touch-up appointment for free when Helena came back. To my surprise, Sharon called me several weeks later and offered to do the touch-up herself. I went in for my touch-up appointment today. Her bedside manners was very stoic, but amicable. She did a beautiful job on my eyebrows. I thanked her and tipped her $100 for her service. I told her it's not about the money; it's about the principle of the matter. Karma... Am I glad we were able to come to a resolution? Yes, of course. Would I go to her again? Most definitely NOT. Would I refer her to a friend? Absolutely NOT. Since I work in a healthcare setting, Sharon decided she did not feel comfortable seeing me, and she canceled my appointment. I'm a beauty blogger and new mother of a two month old baby, and wanted to get my brows tattooed to save time getting ready each morning. Now, it takes me more time to correct the awful brows that Sharon tattooed, and I look worse than before I got them done. She also never asked if I was breastfeeding, which I was, and now reading other reviews, she refused service to breastfeeding women. I wish she would have done the same for me! I found SpaByMode on Instagram and really liked her work, she appeared to be nice, judging from her captions and comments. I was unfortunately wrong. My experience began before I arrived at Spa By Mode, when I was four minutes late and received a call by Sharon's assistant, asking where I was. I explained that my navigation led me to the wrong side of the street, and asked for guidance to find the correct shopping center, since there were shopping centers lined up for 5 blocks. I found the correct one, parked my car, and literally ran into the shop, apologizing for being 6 minutes late. Sharon forced a smile, while leisurely flipping through her appointment book for several minutes, before strolling into the restroom. I sat and waited for 15 minutes, before her assistant led me into the tattoo room, (her assistant was very pleasant). Sharon later entered the room and carried a frustrated and rude demeanor from start to finish. She told me she had been doing eyebrows for ten years, and I realized it was probable that she had become so robotic that she forgot to treat each new client with delicacy, as this was a first time for me, and getting a tattoo on my face is a big deal. I showed her photos of different types of eyebrows that I like, and then she told me to lay down so she could draw a shape of HER choosing on one brow. Once she finished drawing the brow, I sat up and inspected it in the mirror. I was taken back by the shape, size, and dark color she drew. She asked my opinion and I gave her a list of things to alter. For every opinion I had, instead of making the alterations, she angrily defended why she drew the shape she had drawn. After a while of talking in circles and her repeated response of "Your face is a square. This is the brow shape for your square face." She put on yet another painfully forced smile, while constantly glancing at the time, and said "You have three minutes to decide, or else I am not going to do your eyebrows." The pressure from her anger got the best of me, because I agreed to start the process because otherwise, I was "wasting" her precious time. The process was extremely painful. She did NOT MUNB MY EYEBROWS AT ALL. The pain was unbearable and I bled a LOT. She was very agitated at the fact that I was in pain, as if my pain was an imposition on her. Once she completed the tattoo application, I took a look in the mirror and wanted to cry. Sharon reminded me that they would lighten up 40-50% and shrink 25%. Once I paid, her demeanor flipped a switch, and she acted nice suddenly. She urged me to pay cash to avoid card surcharges. She also said that if I had any questions or concerns, I could call her, and "if" she had time, she'd return my call. The entire process was very stressful and rushed, and still under the two hours allotted for the appointment. My eyebrows took over a week to peel and heal, and the outcome still, is not to my liking. All the things I wanted her to change, though she refused, are the things I have to face every time I look in the mirror. My left brow is much darker than the right, and my right brow is higher than the left. The space between my too dark eyebrows is far too wide, and they make me appear angry. She actually shaved the tail of my eyebrow off, and tattooed a fake tail ABOVE where my hair grows, so when my eyebrow hair grew back, it looked like I have TWO tails on each eyebrow! It's very frustrating to know that I asked her to change these things and she refused, with much hostility. She said I would receive "so many compliments", but friends and family just feel bad that she ruined my eyebrows and have been trying to help find a way to fix them. I cancelled my "touch up" appointment, because I refuse to pay her to fix what she should have done in the first place, and touch ups should be included in the original cost. I also opted to spare myself from her unprofessional attitude. Overall, if I had to do it again, I would not get my eyebrows done by Sharon. I've posted a photo for all to see here on Yelp. Helpful tip: Concealer helps me to recreate the brows I originally wanted, so I don't look so angry :) Update: I'm now undergoing laser tattoo removal to help erase her mess. the laser specialist wanted to know what type of ink is used, to help them decide which laser would work on me. I also called Spa By Mode to ask what ingredients is used or what type of ink is used and Sharon, once again, gave major attitude and refused to disclose any information, which is quite scary. read more

No doubt like everyone says, Sharon is really great at shaping your brows. But let me tell you that she only posts the good results on Instagram. The reason she gets 3 stars is because Sharon shaped my brows. BUT she had her assistant do my left brow where she did my right. Now ones darker than the other and the tail end of my left brow doesn't have the natural look like my right one does. It's MUCH darker. My advice, if she tells her assistant to work on your brows, say no and make sure she does both your brows. After all, you're paying HER good money to do your brows. Not for someone who's second best and to f them up like they did mine. This is on your face forever! I'm a lost cause, but you can save yourself! Lol read more

It's been 3 months since I've gotten my eyebrows done by Sharon. First of all, she is the nicest person ever! I don't know why some people said she's snobby on here, but maybe it's because you're snobby yourself? She really knows what she's doing and what eyebrow shape fits with your facial structure. First, she explains the process and aftercare of your brows. Then she spends about an hour to draw two different eyebrow shapes for you to pick from. I must warn most of you that your brows will be extremely dark and thick after the procedure. It will get 25% thinner and I would say about 50% lighter. It took about 4 days after the procedure for my brows to start peeling and get lighter. I'm extremely happy with the results. It feels so great to wake up with darker eyebrows. Don't believe everything you see on Instagram is all I have to say-they clearly only post the very best and leave out all the times they mess up. I regret coming here. For anyone considering spending hundreds of dollars on a semi permanent tattoo procedure on your face here, please read the one star reviews. You will notice a disturbing and consistent pattern. If you don't like their work, they will absolutely argue with you and belittle you and blame it on you. Read the owner replies to other one star posts on here. That should tell you everything you need to know about how this business treats their customers. At my initial consultation I was pressured (through a nonrefundable deposit- basically agree with us and do your brows now or lose $100) to go with the shape they kept drawing on my face, which was not the shape I wanted, and eventually they said my brows would get thinner after peeling- which I mistook to mean that they would thin out and become more like the shape I kept showing them, by drawing it in myself, repeatedly in front of them for an hour. Surprise- that didn't happen, and my brows remain completely the wrong shape (I've shown pictures to other makeup artists I trust, and they agree this is NOT the right shape). It's so bad that I draw over my tattoo with concealer every day. I had to come back here for my follow-up appointment. They blamed my unhappiness on me, telling me they gave me the the right shape for my face (um, if I'm unhappy then no it's not the right shape). This is not the first time I've gotten my eyebrows tattooed and I have never been unhappy with another artist's work. I told them this, but all they could do was argue that this IS the right shape and they're right, I'm wrong and I should have never let them tattoo me if I didn't want the shape they gave me (on this, I wholeheartedly agree). The owner then came by and raised her voice at me. Honestly after reading the other reviews (why didn't I do that sooner and listen?!) I'm not at all surprised at the treatment I was given. But wow. The condescending, rude, angry attitude I was shown today is the most unprofessional thing I have seen in a long, long time. You don't treat other human beings like this, much less customers who have paid you. I do not expect everyone to agree with me all the time, but I do always expect to be dealt with in a professional and respectful manner. Not here. Bottom line, I will continue to have to apply concealer to my face every day to fix their horrible work until (hopefully) one day this fades. I deeply regret entrusting my face to what is clearly a heavily curated Instagram account. Hopefully this review helps others. YES. My pageant sister got her brows done right before our pageant, and I could not get over how amazing they were. She referred me to Sharon at Spa by Mode, and I had to wait 6 months for an appointment! I thought that was crazy, but there's a reason why she's a hot commodity-- she's just that good! Sharon and Vivian were super pleasant and friendly, chit chatting and entertaining me and my poor bored boyfriend during the whole visit. My appointment lasted 2 hours-- of which 1 hour was purely Sharon designing my brows to my liking. First, she requested I not show her any pictures [yet], and let her design one eyebrow with what she thinks is best for my face. Then I gave her critique for what I prefer. I'm pretty obsessive compulsive about my brows and my face, you see. So Sharon fixed my first brow to how I liked it... except, I forgot what her style looked like. lol! So she drew her style on one side, with my style on the other. THIS IS WHERE SH*T GETS CRAZY. I liked Sharon's original brow drawing better! It just fits my face better! Sorry for all the trouble Sharon!! You really are master! Her numbing cream is heaven sent. I almost didn't feel a thing during the length of the tattoo. And at the end, she gave me a little goodie bag with A&D cream to put on the brows for the first week, and a little surprise goodie. It's been a few days, and my brows immediately looked amazing. I keep getting compliments at work, and out and about with complete strangers telling me how 'on fleek' my brows are! Thank you SO much Spa by Mode!!!! (I've seen some of the reviews, where people have commented that she isn't very nice to alterations-- I don't see it. She was sweet as pie to me and explained everything thoroughly. I was very dissatisfied with my brows from a previous permanent makeup artist. My brows were so square and uneven, I was sure it wasn't fixable. I was on a mission to find the best eyebrow artist in OC and I found her! Sharon did a beautiful job fixing my brows. Sharon brilliantly straightened and soften the look completely. I went to her for the initial appointment and one touch-up after it completely healed. She listened to my needs and adjusted the color accordingly. I don't know if it's just me but I didn't feel any pain during the procedure. It felt more like a scratching feeling. I even fell asleep! Lol. I just got my eyebrows done 5 days ago and its been SO dark but it's finally peeling! I wanted to wait for it to peel a little before I wrote my review. I loveeee the shape so much. Sharon asked me what I had in mind before drawing it in and I gave her some things I wanted, but for the most part I just let her work her magic and it turned out great! I've seen her work before so I trusted her. I know it shrinks a little after so I got it a little thicker than that shape so that it could be the size of the original drawing. I think I'm sensitive to pain because when my mom did it it didn't hurt but it stung a little for me, but it was bearable. When the numbing cream was on, I didn't feel a thing!!!!! That thing is magic! Hung helped fill in my brow after Sharon outlined it and he was really nice and kept making sure I was okay and it didn't hurt. Then Sharon took over and she did the same and checked up on me a lot. She guided me through the whole process because I was nervous and it really helped a lot. She is soooo sweet! She's the best at what she does! I've been following her for a while now and all her work is so amazing and I'm SO glad I got mine done! The shape did shrink and it looks perfect. I am in love with my new brows! I just need some of the hair to grow in so it could look natural since it's a lot thicker than my usual brow lol. I can't wait until it's all peeled off!!! read more

I had my eyebrows done awhile ago, and I figured I should leave a review for you ladies. Ultimately, my right eyebrow is significantly arched higher than my left and I've been on a spree looking for laser treatments to remove it.. thus as to why I'm on yelp at the moment. I've been using concealer everyday since. My mom addressed to Sharon that it looked higher than the other after the procedure. Sharon proceeds to tell my mom its because my eyeshapes and nose bridge are uneven. After speaking to several doctors and estheticians, they all said that my eyebrows were done unevenly and that nothing is wrong with the balance of my facial features. Yes, Sharon does beautiful work.. but she does her work on her own call. On the otherhand, my mom has been going to sharon for 5+ years and hasn't failed her. She really has an eye for brows and takes care to give you what you want, but also implement her professional take on them. Worst customer service I've ever received! I walked in couple minutes early and said hi, she didn't say anything but giving me a smirk more likely. She asked me to show 2 pictures of the shape I want. I did that then she raised her voice " Those shapes look good on others but may not fit your face. You have to know what you want or else the appointment will not go thru smoothly". Very rude feedback from her!!!. I do know what i want but I do need consultant from the expert of eyebrows, don't we all come here for that ? I already felt insulted but i tried to stay calm since I waited so long for this. I asked her questions, she didn't bother making eye contact. She was very impolite and ignorant. Once finished, she didn't say anything, no " thank you for coming" , no goodbye. Nothing!! This is a total lack of proper education and social etiquette. When I was about to pay, i asked about procedure for after care, she was standing right there but instead of speaking to me or even looking at me, she turned to her assistant and told her to assist me instead, and of course didn't care about my existence. I was very furious by her obnoxious attitude the whole time. For almost $500 now to a ridiculous jump of $800 with no customer service, no professionalism, no respect, it is not worth it at all ! All the negatives comments I read are true and they describe the exact experience i had with her. I debated on writing this review, and I only hope that this will open her eyes to the way she has catered to her customers. And encourage her to improve her customer care. AND Although she is talented it can only take her so far. because THERE are other artists out there that can do exactly what she can do and provide a QUALITY SERVICE. Before I start my review on this business. Sharon tried to tell me to not leave a bad review ..... ( TWO times to be exact... she didn't ask me ....she demanded me LOL) Her exact words: " i better not see anything on social media , this makes us square since i'm giving you your deposite back so i better not see anything. .. ". ( Um... No. it does not make us even, yelp is a place where we can express our opinions and experience from a business. To be honest you really need to see this review to open your eyes to the way you act toward your customers.) To Begin... I called in for my appointment and was quoted for $450 (both soft touch and microblading) ( I was ALSO told i could decide day of... because it is the same price by Sharon herself) I had got to my appointment at 3:05 Once I arrived Sharon didn't bother greeting me, I can see she was busy with a customer so i just sat down fill out the forms. Sharon finally asked me to sit on her chair to draw in my eyebrows roughly 3:25 ish, When we started talking about the shape i wanted.. I've asked her about the microblading, and said she would have to charge me $700.... Hesitant to bring up the conversation i had with her 6 months ago (on being able to decide b the day of) I left it as is to avoid dealing with her attitude that people spoke of on yelp. I decided to show her some shapes that i liked and she mocked me saying that the two shapes i have chosen are "COMPLETELY DIFFERENT" and that i didn't know what i wanted ( repeatedly saying it throughout the appointment, i really did then started to question myself). Having made me feel incompetent, i just let her draw what she wanted... we worked out some shapes that would work with my face. When it came to be 5 min after 4 she had expressed her frustrating that it was getting late and she was going to reschedule me if i didn't decide She had the audacity to saying that i was late to my appointment when she barley finishing up with a client before me. Feeling pressured to accept the brows she drew on me or lose my appointment, i told her i waited 6 months so she can at least wait a few more minutes.This is my eyebrows that's gonna be on my face for the next few years. She then told me that her assistant would be filling it in so it wont matter. Having to deal with her attitude and frustration, i was also losing my patience. The girl i'm paying so much and waited for so long was going to pawn me off to someone else. -The shape of the eyebrows wasn't even the problem rather the attitude that Sharon gave me from the time I walked in and left, it was rude and demeaning. When i expressed to her how i felt about the shape, she ridiculed me by bringing her assistant to see for himself and to agree with her. When she drew both sides of my eyebrows, i had told her they didn't look even, and she claimed that no eyebrows will look the same only similar. It was a huge difference but i wasn't going to argue with her. I came to the conclusion that this wasn't something I wanted to pay for, an unkind artist who was unappreciative of the business. Who was money hungry to charge me more than the initial price that I was previously told. Her talent is spoken highly of which what i came for but cost me the drive, time, and part of my dignity. Her attitude and demeanor is cruel, to the point I did not want to speak up for myself. I never feared a person who i was paying a service for. I really hope this review of Sharon's attitude will motivate her to treat her customers with more respect and kindness.To also respect the clients choices and decisions as well.. I literally have never written a Yelp review in my life but now after going to Sharon I feel compelled to add yet another one star review to the collection. I'm a very non confrontational person and I decided to take to Yelp about my terrible experience because even those of us who are shy to speak up should still have a voice somewhere. - To start, I made my appointment months ago, 6 months to be exact. I read all the bad reviews about the business and still decided I'd give it a try, since well, if the appointment is a half year wait she must be good right? Maybe everyone else is overly sensitive, maybe I can overlook her attitude since she's so good...I mean after all, I'm going there for brows not her customer service. Besides, there are good reviews too; if other people can have a positive experience then so can I. NOPE! After my 6 month wait I finally get a chance to get my brows done. I was excited and giddy, full of joy. Something I had been looking forward to since March. Here's my detailed account of what happened. Enter day of: I walk in, the receptionist was ringing someone up, she should have at the very least acknowledged me. She looks up and continues to work on the computer. I stand behind the customer at the counter, patiently waiting for my turn to check in. Sharon and I make eye contact but she is scrolling on her cellphone, clearly in between clients and whatever she's doing is more important than me I guess, since I don't even so much as get a "hello". After a minute or so Sharon finally looks up and asks "What's your name?" And tells me to take a seat. I sit down and after about 5 minutes of me awkwardly sitting there the receptionist hands me a clipboard to fill out a form. "Can you fill this out?" Still no greeting. From anyone. Helena, the assistant (who is absolutely wonderful, kind, well mannered, and pretty much the only saving grace to the business) emerges from the restroom and gives me a warm greeting, offering me water and snacks. Meanwhile, Sharon is in the corner with a stale face. Even after completion of paperwork I am left sitting by my lonesome, in awkward silence while I watch Sharon scroll through her phone for a few more minutes before telling me to come over. I then receive a very forced smile and she asks me if I have a photo of what I wanted. I showed her a picture and she begins to draw. I try and make small talk about the weather, her business, her family, I get barely anything from her. All one word responses. Talking to Sharon is like talking to a brick wall. Oh well. I get it, there are days I don't feel like talking either. Even though if that's what it is, she's taking it to an extreme. Whatever happened to the saying 'don't bring your problems to work'? But you can do this, remember: you're here for the brows not her conversation. She draws my brows, I request a couple minor adjustments. After I think I am satisfied I ask her opinion. I ask her if she thinks they look ok, if they're symmetrical, if she thinks they are too high/low, and she offers nothing, "that's based on what you think. But whatever you decide is getting tattooed so make a choice". Gee, thanks. I wanted your professional opinion, you are the brow expert after all aren't you? Even a little bit of positive feedback/encouragement would have been nice. Sharon briskly moves me to the tattoo area, and does the basic outline of the tattoo in utter silence. I am then handed off to Helena, who was the best part of the whole experience because he actually makes small talk (polite/friendly, basic manners? No freaking way! Lol) and seems genuinely interested in my comfort level and opinion. But unfortunately after the first brow, I guess Helena took too long on me and so Sharon told him to step aside and she finished the rest of the tattooing. Back to her passive aggressive attitude. She tattooed so hard my eyes watered. She didn't ask me if I was ok. My eyes were clearly watering from pain and she didn't bother to reapply more numbing solution, even after I ask she ignores my request and says, "we're almost done". Because her next client was here. Reapplying numbing solution would have slowed her down. She turns off the machine and walks away. She didn't even tell me I was done. I had to physically ask Helena (since Sharon left me astray without a word) who was at another table. As I'm leaving Sharon says goodbye and thanks me for coming and supporting her business. This was the first taste of kindness I received from her in my entire 2 hour session. Clients deserve more than this. For the amount of money we pay we should get quality work AND quality service, it shouldn't have to be one or the other. News flash, lots of places offer both! And I've since gotten a touch up at one of these places. And because she took over halfway through, one of my brows was much darker than the other. So should you go to her? She took her time too draw them out and was patience with me because I have oily skin and in the beginning my skin didn't want to take in the ink well. She also explained very well about how she was going to do my eyebrows. I went in for my touch up recently and I was in love with my eyebrows already but I love them even more now! Thanks to Tiffany for making me feel more confident in myself. I never thought that i would get my eyebrows tattooed but I'm glad that I end up doing it and it was not as painful as I thought it would be.
