It took some time to get on his schedule but he came over, did a thorough inspection and gave me an estimate. The tub was over 15 years old and unsurprisingly needed quite a bit of work. He told me that he had a rebuilt hot tub that he was willing to sell and install for much less than the cost of repairs. I have been happy with the tub that he sold us and installed.

He installed the part and then asked for $650, I thought it was bad form but I said if it fixed the hot tub I'd pay it. It still didn't work. I call Doug at Double Bubble, he says he's sick and can't come fix it. Ok, I wait a couple weeks and call again, he says "I'm really sick, I have serious problems." At this point I'm upset about the hot tub but I'm more worried about Doug. I wait a couple more weeks and call, leave a message, a couple weeks later, another message, then again a couple weeks later. Now I'm assuming Doug is dead or in the hospital so I find someone else and start the process over again. $800 and 3 months later after replacing every other part of my hot tub, the new guy (who is working for free at this point because he feels bad for me) gets on with tech support and figures out that Double Bubble installed the part incorrectly, and FINALLY fixes it. Then comes the kicker... I see Doug at Piaci drinking beers and eating pizza like nothing ever happened. NEVER TRUST DOUG FROM DOUBLE BUBBLE.

Moirs told us that as long as they have been selling this product that only two had this problem. We sent them a picture and they called the manufacturer which is Freeflow spas. Freeflow immediately said we will send them a new one. Moirs fordered the same spa and within a couple of weeks we had our new spa. Moirs went above and beyond installing and rewiring our new one. They sent out two guys Steve and Casey, to install the new one and remove the old one. They were excellent and caring. They helped position the spa and made sure it was full and running before they left. None of this cost us one penny.Dealing with Teresa and Don Moir is like dealing with family. They are fair and honest honest. they have us as customers for life.

From the get, their service was mediocre and spotty. Then I learned that despite the pool being salt water--which they were aware of since they actually wrote up the sellers condition report for the pool disclosure part of the buying process, Johnson just ignored that and NEVER serviced the pool as it was meant to be maintained in order for the salt water system to work. Instead they would just show up periodically and dump chlorine into the water--NOT what you do to a salt water pool. Consequently the salt water cells were never cleaned allowing the entire system to fail and refused to correct the situation. They are LAXY USELESS CRIMINALS who will happily accept your monthly payment yet do nothing to earn the money spent. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

My latest experience with Roto Rooter includes them doing work that wasn't needed / not fixing the plumbing issue, and hiking up the price. 3x they visited the property and didn't fix the actual cause. I had to hire another company that fixed it immediately. When asking about the work done and if some of it was actually needed, their office secretary Jon turned very argumentative. Bad look. But it seems that's his usual encounter with his customers based on his responses to reviews online. Be very careful when choosing to work with them. There are many other reliable and trusting plumbers in Lake and Mendocino county.

Just to clarify, the grandkids of the original Johnson Pool folks are taking no responsibility for the damage. The grandkids took over the company in 2025 and appear to have made changes to the business model which resulted in the damage. Nobody from Johnson ever contacted me about the pool sweep or the plaster being ruined because they were charging me $200 per month and never opening the cover.

The paperwork they showed us shows their license expired. Yet they continue to operate it seems. Finally they insisted I pay Filiberto - the "cousin" instead of their business account.
