We called ahead to find out if it was wheel chair accessible and was told yes. I flew in from California to take my best friend for her birthday and although the facility was clean, it was not accessible. Parking lot was for employees only yet there was an elevator that would have taken me straight into the bldg. instead I had to use my wheelchair down steep ramps where the cars come in and drive it around the block. The entrance to the saunas and dining and massages had a large step up and my wheelchair couldn't go up. Then there are steps to climb to get into the various saunas. I couldn't do it. On the deck with the pool. Yep you got it....steps no ramp to go outdoors to the pool. I had to get help from another guest and the staff to climb up steps and down steps into the pool. I have ALS and what was supposed to be a relaxing day was very taxing on my body. I'm giving two stars because the massage was great and they were very helpful in helping me get dressed and off the table. This place is a liability for anyone who can't walk well. From pulling the back of my wheelchair to get me up a large step to workers physically helping. Anything could have happened to me or my chair, which are my legs. read more

After all the horrible reviews, I was truly anxious about going to Spa Castle, but I am so glad I did. I arrived a Friday morning at 10am when they opened. Parking Be warned, the parking situation is not great. There is really not a lot of street parking. Spa Castle no longer has valet parking. They do have a parking garage with limited parking on the second and 3rd level, but no way to enter the building from the garage. You have to walk down the ramp to get to the front of the building to enter. I luckily was able to find parking right around the corner on the street. Entrance I was the 4th person in the spa that morning. You pay $50 and get a band that resembles a watch which you use to access your locker and make purchases throughout the day. When you walk into the locker room, you must remove your shoes and put them in your designated locker. Then you can proceed to the locker room to change, and there is another locker for your clothing. No towels Be aware, you must bring your own towels and clean indoor sandals. No robes are provided. I brought my own white terrycloth robe that I bought specifically for my spa days. Locker rooms The women's locker area has a relaxation room, sauna, steam room, pool with hydrojets, hot tubs at different temperatures and showers with soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers which were all full. The hot tubs and pool in the women's locker room, seem to be clothing optional. They have hair dryers as well. Main co-ed Spa area I walked up to what they call the first floor from the locker area, and it opens up to the entire spa and the co-ed section of the spa, which is NOT clothing optional. It was clean and huge inside. I saw no elevators, only stairs. Becareful on the stairs as they get wet. The first floor is where all the saunas are, a dining area, and a place to buy food. They had burgers, cheese cake, smoothes, etc... On the second floor, there is an outdoor pool area and there are indoor pools and the bar that opened at 12 noon with a 3 drink maximum per guest. I did the outdoor pool for only about 10 minutes as it was 20 degrees outside. The outdoor pool is heated, but my head and ears were cold. The remainder of the day I stayed in the hydrojet pools on the 2nd floor. Buying alcohol You have to have a blue paper bracelet in order to be served alcohol. 3 drink maximum per guest. I had to go back downstairs where we paid initally to get in (reception) to get a bracelet, which I was not too happy about. Luckily, one of the very friendly staff had one, so I didn't have to leave the locker room to go to the reception desk again. It is a full service bar, but no simple syrup, olive juice, or bitters. They add a 15% gratuity to all bar bills and you do have an option of adding more of a tip. The drinks range from $10 for beer and $16 to $22 for cocktails. Water to drink (you have to stay hydrated) They sell water but do have water machines to fill your water bottles up on every floor. So bring your empty water bottles from home. Dining We had lunch on the third floor where there is a Korean restaurant. My friend bought a burger on the 1st floor and joined me in the third floor dining room. The dining area on the third floor is bright and beautiful, with nice views of the bridges and water. I bought Bulgogi, a Korean dish which was edible, but not great. The meat looked grey, not the dark brown with gravy as it usually looks when I purchase it elsewhere. This dish was $19. My friend enjoyed his burger but was not crazy about the fries. They have a relaxation room on the 3rd floor, but it was so cold in the room, we decided not to stay. After lunch, we headed back to the 2nd floor, got a cocktail and lounged in the hydrojet pool closest to the bar. I then went to the women's locker room and used the sauna, steam room, and hot tubs. I stayed from 10am to 315pm. Children They do allow children and there were kids there. I was surprised because I figured they should all be in school at that time on a Friday, but they were well behaved and not too loud. Other notes They had upbeat music playing throughout the spa. The one lifeguard on duty was never actually looking at the water. He was in a merchandise area on his phone for the time I was there. There does not seem to be restrictions on cell phone usage and there were groups of young ladies doing what seemed to be mini Instagram photo shoots as the spa got more crowded in the afternoon. Overall experience Overall, it was a good experience. It is close to home and reasonably priced. I would encourage you to go during the week. I would not go on a weekend and probably will never go in the summer, as I hear it tends to get super crowded. But early on a weekday in the winter? Perfect! read more

Soooo I snuck into the spa for a full spa day fingers crossed hoping that things would go smooth seeing as I have my own robe, slippers & towel and have fully gotten over the fact that things changed drastically post pandemic. I called in @ 9:30 but wasn't able to book an appt until around 9:50. I booked the first appt they had for a sugar scrub 11:30 it was easy breezy & the receptionist over the phone was pleasant. Got there like slightly late due to traffic and they easily accommodated helping me get set up right away. I picked the best day a shiny 75° in November. The scrub service was very thorough which I love. After the service I took a long bath in the bathing area and chilled in the sauna. They have like 6 baths 1 never works I don't like cold baths so that's a non issue for me. They have a wet and dry sauna and then another one right before you go upstairs. After I felt satisfied in that area I headed upstairs. Got some infrared light tan and chilled in one of the five upstairs saunas before heading up to the Sky lounge. The foods not worth it. But I got ramen & fries later and a Henney colada. I like the Sky lounge level. And sat in the outdoor area. I also stood on the terrace enjoying the view. Then I went in the pool. I love the jets. It wasn't packed thank goodness but many ppl got the memo some of which showed up with kids. Many ppl complained about the robes and many ppl bought some. I was there from 11:30- almost 4. I had a very very relaxing day here despite it not being as posh as other places I have been to. It's local and I think I spent like $150 with the early bird special. I would be hesitant to call this place a Korean Sauna. There are better places that can give you a more authentic experience for cheaper. Even if it wasn't labeled as a "Korean Spa" I still would say it isn't worth the price. This is my first time I've been there after the renovations. Fluorescent lighting everywhere, even in the nude baths and changing rooms. Not super relaxing. They also added a line of lockers in the back, which reduced the amount of space you have to change, and put on lotion,etc. The temperatures of the saunas and nude baths were not hot. Slightly hotter than body temperature at best. The steam sauna in the nude section also did not get as hot or as steamy as it used to. The nude baths also got a lot of people with their swimsuits on, which was not a problem, but it did annoy me. The problem was when people started bringing their phones into the nude baths. Staff did not do anything about this. The big hot clay sauna was changed into ANOTHER Himalayan salt sauna with mirrors (?) on the ceilings (why???), the temperatures stayed and hovered around 130~, when previously they had temps ranging from 120~170. They got rid of the sleeping stations and added in more sofas. They also got rid of the nice flowing waterfalls and stuck almost every surface with white tiles. Not super relaxing in my opinion. They also don't have any posted signage about when the food stalls open, and the staff were pretty rude about it when questioned. The pools on the 3rd floor stayed exactly the same, with some cosmetic changes. A lot of the touch-activated water jets don't work, and the pools are still the same as before the renovation - rusty and slightly dirty. Now however, the sauna in the middle of the outdoor area also doesn't work. The only thing bumping this review up to two stars is the food. The food is decently priced and good. The third floor has pretty good Korean food that doesn't cost like 20 bucks for Shin ramen. Overall, the new renovations and management got rid of anything that might be able to describe this as a Korean spa. It's just pools. The renovations didn't improve the facilities, and in fact have decreased the quality of them, sacrificing them for looking "instagram worthy" and modern. If you're looking for a Korean Spa experience, this is not it. Even if you're looking for a relaxing spa experience, this is not it. 85$ entrance fee?? For this??? Definitely not. read more

They don't provide the uniform which it is ok ,but the staff in the women's locker room who provides all the necessaries ,when I asked her about the uniform and towel.her attitude and tone is extremely bad with words "it's up to you " And the water temperature of showering in the locker room is freaking cold and everyone is complaining about that . Relaxing day going from Himalayan salt room, to infrared room to polar ice room. Lovely outdoor pools with jets for any achy muscle. Unfortunately, I lost my tennis bracelet while there. (Therefore, I strongly recommend others remove jewelry they would miss before going). However, all the staff (lifeguards, locker room attendant, security guard and administrative staff) were all extremely helpful and allowed me to look for it until closing and again the next morning. I remember your glory days of quiet weekdays where my spa buddy and I would take a sick day, convene in Flushing, hop on a complementary shuttle, and bliss out in a clean and cozy Korean day spa, with piping hot saunas, floor mats, and relaxed lighting, surrounded by appropriate spa etiquette of hushed voices and matching uniforms. The new "renovated" Spa Castle is blasphemous, ostentatious, and depressing reminder of what used to be. Upon entry to the locker room, I was immediately blinded by the new décor where everything is white, reflecting harsh florescent lighting overhead. I was half expecting someone to roll in an exam table with some stirrups and give me a pap smear. In a country where 70% of the population is overweight or obese, let's keep these locker rooms lowly lit, shall we? I don't want to see every nook, cranny, and cellulite ripple here. Venturing into the nude women's baths, they now have clothed lifeguards there to watch you bathe, which seems creepy and unnecessary, considering the baths are less than 2 feet deep. Some women were wearing bathing suits in the nude area, which I also found annoying. Women don't ogle each other's bodies, and its blissful to be nude in all the different temperature pools. Except that changed too. There used to be various temperatures and names for the baths: "Event Bath" at 103 degrees with fun lighting, the succinct but aptly named "Hot Bath" at 108 degrees. Now all the baths were a tepid 98-101 degrees. Gee, let's hang out in some body temperature water! Maybe a placenta will float by. On to the general area. I was so excited to revisit the large hot clay sauna, where you had an enormous dark room heated to 170 degrees with multiple levels. I was shockingly disappointed to discover the only change was to remove this one great sauna, and replaced it with, yep, you guessed it, more florescent lights, more Himalayan salts (when they already had another salt sauna) and a mirrored ceiling like some sort of sex dungeon. One is now forced to stare at themselves when lying down. Great, now I get to see how fat and how middle-aged I am. Thanks Spa Castle. But the worst part is that the temperature in this, and all the other saunas, was tepid. What's the point of having all these saunas if they are all the same temperature? The only variation is that some smelled like a toilet freshener at Port Authority, and others smelled like dirty socks. Why, WHY did they have to take the best thing, and mess it up? On to the pools. Exactly the same as before. No renovations except for a paint job and some cosmetic changes. Just some couples groping each other among the jets. What's gonna float by this time? Ick. Oh wait, let's remember that the M.O. of the renovations was to take away the best parts, and they did remove the outdoor showers that you could sit under on a stool and get a massage. My spa buddy got a drink, and the refreshment area was blasting the archaic Alice in Chains' hit, "Would". When I think of a serene spa soundtrack, a grunge rock tribute song about a heroin overdose from 1992 isn't the first thing that comes to mind, but clearly this is a new vibe. This... plus an increased entry fee?! I feel I should be compensated for having to endure these shoddy and thoughtless renovations. Cleary this spa is not under the same management. It's now just a sad Instagram template for Queens basic bi*ches. Sadly, I won't be back, until the Korean management returns and rights these egregious wrongs. read more

I used to love this place. Still do inna way. But its really lost a lot of its original charm with the new renovations. #1 The harsh bright white walls + the florescent lighting (especially by the pool bar!) make you feel as though you're in a hospital or in a mental asylum. It's really hard to relax and almost induces a headache when you sit there for too long. #2 A lot of the metals that connect to the pools have rust on them. I feel they could easily clean that up with the right products and look into cleaning some of the mildew spots that build up around the corners. #3 The mirrors and lighting in the pink salt room (used to be my favorite space) really make you feel unrelaxed. I had to cover my face with a towel to enjoy the experience and really go within. #4 I actually love the food!!!! Thankfully its decently priced. I always get the Bimbimbap and highly recommend the Chicken Katsu or Bulgogi dishes. All excellent and I love the accompanying sides. #5 The new uppermost level is really cool. I went on a really slow day with my partner, we found ourselves relaxing on the reclining couches, trying to sleep so we actually dimmed the lights to be able to take in the outdoor view (there's a beautiful giant window), we got in about 20 minutes but of course! Someone from security came up and turned the obnoxious lights back on. We were literally the only ppl up there and it really ruined the moment for us but we didn't complain and just kept it moving. #6 ADMISSION PRICE -- Spa Castle's main clients used to be a lot of locals. People in Queens who visit frequently and really enjoyed the convenience of a local and private escape for under 50$. That way you could actually spend more on your drinks, services and or food. But 85$/weekday and 110$/ weekends?!?! I think we all feel it's not really worth that much. #7 Since the reopening, I've visited a few times. And there's a big muscular latin security guard, who really needs to check his attitude. He acts like he owns the place and is incredibly rude. And if he's on break, I think management should ensure he eats his food in a private area. Not with the rest of your guests taking up space. He takes his job seriously, which is great. But if I was running a spa, I wouldn't want this man being a point of contact for my guests. His demeanor, body language and way of speaking to guests is not conducive of creating great client experiences. And I think someone should address him immediately. Overall experience 3/5 I still love the amenities. But for Gods sake, please do away with these white walls and excess lights! If you don't want to paint the walls any other color, fine. The only thing bumping this review up to 2 stars is the food. Nothing about the newly renovated Spa Castle is Korean. No one respects the no phone or no swimsuit rule of a Korean Spa, the tubs don't differ in temperature, they changed the saunas to look more modern sacrificing the temperature. I get that a more modern look attracts more customers but everything looks and feels like an eyesore. One of my biggest complaints was that there are no proper warnings as they close down. The lifeguard gave me and my sister a 5 min warning (not enough for a full shower after a day of chlorine) BUT gave no one else that entered later than us that warning. My sister and I rushed to finish as everyone else took their time because the LG singled us out. Spa Castle was full of good childhood memories for me but this new renovation (and possibly new management) has ruined everything here. I haven't even gotten the chance to go. I had a grand re-opening purchase for 2 people and didn't have the time to go around that same month of the spa re-opening. I tried to contact the Spa and was just sent to auto-voicemail which was extremely frustrating in the aspect that I needed information and clarification on why they shut down and what's gonna happen to my re-imbursement for those tickets. There was no one to assist me, no information in regards to why they shut down or when they would potentially re-open again. The spa was shut down in less than 2 months which is absolutely flabbergasting for the prices that they wanted to charge. I'm glad that they shut down, it's time to have different management and a different spa with different requirements and limits. ** After looking over reviews, a lot of people will agree that it is not a park for little kids ** Kids should have a separate area for a playground if the adults need to relax. No more big towels. Bring your own. No robes with admission. No more food on the main floor. At least one hot tub is broken. One of the sauna is also broken. I also don't understand why they would have electrical wires just out in the pool area. Water just going in and out with people inside the water. I also feel like they know people are complaining about their standards and they don't really care anymore. Visited the new relaunched Spa Castle today. Outside is freshly painted. Check in lobby looks bigger & the turnstiles have been removed. Women's locker room have new white lockers. Now they give you a robe & shoes with a towel. All has to be returned at the end of the visit. Upstairs lobby area is very spacious. They have more sitting & lounge chairs. Saunas have been updated as well. Pool areas have been renovated as well. Still more that's being updated. Himalayan sauna needs to be hotter like it was before it was renovated. The pool right outside of the bar area....the water was murky green. Hot tub needs to be hotter as well. Looking forward to seeing more renovations, think I will wait until about March - April to revisit. read more

I have been coming to spa castle since it opened up. When it first opened it was perfect. They had uniforms, towels, healthier food options, frozen yogurt, a sleeping room, and it was so peaceful. Spa castle now is actually quite horrendous, which is unfortunate cause it's the only option in the queens area that gives you multiple saunas and access to the outdoor pools. Let's breakdown why they are no longer good. Firstly, they changed all the food to basic fast food. Fried chicken strips and Americanized/Asian inspired food. The smoothies are terrible just as the service that goes along with it. The people working their are MISERABLE. Everything is over priced for what you are getting. Why have crappy food at a spa? Makes no sense. They no longer provide you with a towel or flip flops. They allow children into the spa, which I'm sorry but some of us are trying to get away and relax, not be splashed by kids in the pool. Then you have those that come there just to get drunk and be obnoxious in the saunas. What is relaxing about that? It's so disrespectful to others. The showers are also located inside of the nude area and you will be reprimanded if you walk in with even so much as a towel into that area. The only safe bet is to come on a weekday in the morning to avoid all the above. read more

Spa castle offered different heating pools with an outdoor pool and different temperature saunas. I've been here a couple of times and I really like coming here. I been in this spa in past few times but didn't go recently. On Friday was my son had birthday (11,) and he want to go. I took my mom who visiting from Israel and we go. At the front desk as we go in I had a problem and the lady in front desk was so rude. She didn't even say "sorry I can't help you" she had a very nasty aditute and I wouldn't let a person like this working even one day in front desk. Any way it's all start wrong. After an hour nice lady ask if I need help in said no. But my son say go try explain what happen. And she did help. She had amazing smile and very calm voice. Even if she would not solve my problem her attitude was so nice and so different from the nasty girl in front desk. I'm very thankful to this lady named Jungmi I wish everyone have a smile like this and be welcoming. Now few details: the place was clean and nice! The pools out side perfect (some of the stuff dont work like if you have 4 chairs only 2 will work). Their is kids at the place! Even babies. They used to give uniform to walk inside now no more. Towels that they give small so bring your on! We personally eat waffeks and creps and it was delishes!! And great price. So in general I recommend to go there as couple or group of friends or family with kids fits all. You come to spa castle to soak in the buff near a weirdo journaling while holding an uncomfortable level of eye contact. You come to Spa Castle to shower next to a stranger who shares: "reminds me of when I was in prison." You come to spa castle to witness a knotty gray rope swinging from an old Korean woman's privates. The longest pubic hair in the world. A $22 frozen pina colada with a medically concerning amount of rum, a 25% chance of any hydro jet you press actually functioning. Come for the ice cave? Tough shit, it's temporarily closed. You come to the sprawling 1990s McMansion with dirtied stucco for the overly chatty patrons looking for a roaring good time. As my friend said "Did I have a fun time? Yes. Would I return? I am absolutely impressed by the spa experience I had here. I was concerned about I ome of the former reviews I read and honestly, I have no idea why people have problems with this place. First of all it was immaculately clean. I found the staff to be fantastic. Yes, there's a lot of supervision, but that's a good thing. I've been to many spas. There's a lot of nonsense that goes on people behaving inappropriate, etc. At this spot they make sure everyone knows what's going on to make sure that everyone feels confident and comfortable. That's exactly what I want from a spa experience. Yes there's kids and family and I happen to love that. I think people forget that this experience is very common to a lot of cultures and family. Being able to go to these places is very important. Go earlier and you'll have a quieter experience. Go later and you'll see more adults so just time your visit accordingly. As far as the food, the only thing I tried was the shaved ice cream and it wasn't bad. Honestly, just an overall great experience. And by the way, those complaining about the pricing you're being unrealistic. You can't have a good experience if these folks can't properly maintain and operate their establishment. And they had a roof top pool which was warm so you could go to the roof top pool in winter. Spa Castle is a divisive business, but if you manage your expectations and come prepared, you can have a great time. Bring your own towel, sandals, and "uniform" (a t-shirt & shorts works). I like to come with my own big fluffy robe. As of now they do provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the showers, and a singular industrial size bottle of lotion at the mirrors in the locker area. I would strongly recommend bringing your own lotion, and sometimes I bring soap/shampoo as well, because not every shower has everything you need. During my last visit only the women's locker room had blow dryers. The only thing you get upon admission is one singular dish sized towel - it's good to roll up and rest your head on when sitting back in the pools! I agree with other reviewers that these things should be included and indeed are at other spas, but it is what it is, if you come prepared you can focus on enjoying the facilities. Admission is cheaper on weekdays and this is the best time to come because the place is much less crowded. It's also better to come earlier in the day for the same reason. Children are allowed in, probably the biggest complaint I've heard and yes, they will run and scream and generally be children all over the place (there is in fact, a dedicated kiddy pool area). All the more reason to come on a weekday. Weekends also seem to bring people who play their Bluetooth speakers by the side of the pool, have weird conversations at high volume, and generally act like they're high school kids on a bus. There are no rules against rowdiness at Spa Castle! Food is over-priced and mediocre. The ramen is surprisingly spicy but comes with no protein besides an egg. It's still one of the cheaper options, a stir-fry or fried rice will run you $18, $20-$30 if you're skipping carbs and going for an all protein entrée. Chicken wings are $14, fries $7, and everything you order tastes just OK at best. Definitely eat breakfast before you arrive. The best food in terms of both price and quality can be found at the salad bar, which is unfortunately only open on weekends. They also have coffee, tea, and fruit/vegetable juice 7 days a week, but those options close earlier than the spa does, around 7pm I think. Not all the jets in the pools will work. Not all of the areas are open at any given time. Reflexology has been gone since COVID and they scrapped the fitness center entirely. Sometimes the Cave in Water dry sauna by the rooftop pools smells like feet. Nothing is free, even the massage chairs like they have at airports cost money. Actually, there is free water - available in cone shape Dixie cups at the singular coolers on each floor. If that cone isn't enough for you, signs will remind you not to bother asking for a larger cup - "NO CUP NO ICE". Pay for the overpriced water bottles they have and fill them up at the coolers when you need a refill. Because despite the signs reminding you to stay hydrated, Spa Castle doesn't care about you, not really. So at this point you might think, why 4 stars? Spa Castle sounds awful. But quite frankly, when you go during off-peak times, you get access to an expansive space with numerous pools, jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms. The rooftop pools are large and lovely, with two jacuzzis and some seriously powerful jets (and plenty of gentler ones too). The stronger jets can absolutely make up for not getting one of their massages (I love my bargain ones in any Chinatown too much to splurge here). There are two more pools inside with floor to ceiling windows, one where you can lie back and one where you can swim up to a bar. There are about 7 dry saunas to choose from, each with varying temperatures of heat. In the locker rooms clothing is optional, and they have more pools with jets, wet saunas, and 4 jacuzzis at various temperatures. Frankly, I don't have any of that in my apartment, and that's why I'm giving 4 stars. read more

Spa Castle is a disgrace to the idea of jimjilbangs (Korean bathhouse). I am 99.9% confident that there are no Koreans involved in the management of this place because if they did, they wouldn't dare show their face at church after one of their fellow members sees this run down excuse of a jimjilbang. Where do we start: Spa Castle charges you $55-$60 depending on weekday or weekend to get in. That's not so bad since it allows you unlimited usage of the facilities. Where things fall apart is immediately and :::gestures broadly:::. You are provided two wash cloths to do as you please with upon entry. They are basically hand towels, not big enough to wrap around your waist. They are really meant for wiping off sweat and building a little pillow/head rest in the mineral saunas when you lay down. However if you forget to bring a towel, then these will act as your towels. That's right: Spa Castle might be the only jimjilbang on this planet that doesn't provide you with complementary bath towels. No robe either! Don't worry though they have those available for sale. I believe they used to provide both but used COVID as an excuse to stop providing it and then once that subsided just shrugged and said "fuck it, we don't want to do laundry so you can buy bathrobes and towels instead." Also, they allow people to go into the sauna and pool areas with flip flops on. This is sacrilege as no real jimjilbang allows people to enter in anything except robes and bare feet. The robes that Spa Castle doesn't provide unless you buy one. And the bare feet that Spa Castle gave up on trying to get stupid Americans to understand. (if you're wondering why bare feet: it's to keep the public areas clean so people don't wear random flip flops from god knows where and track in dirt and crap) The pool area on the roof is half broken. Half of the jacuzzi jets/shower jets in the pool area flat out don't work. On a recent Saturday with passable weather, the entire pool area was overrun by families and packs of young girls/women lounging about sipping on frozen drinks. The mineral saunas were relatively empty and this might be the only usable part of the facility. The cold room of course was out of order, because, why not? But what about the actual bathhouse you ask? Don't worry I'm getting to that. A key feature of jimjilbang that distinguishes it from other bathhouses are gender specific all nude sections where there are bath tubs of various temperatures plus wet/dry saunas. The idea is that these are safe spaces for men, women and children to fully unwind and relax in the nude. I entered this section for the first time and things seemed ok. There were a lot of men sitting about but no kids. I didn't find that odd at first but I soon realized why it was probably designed that way. I cycled through the various hot tubs and cold baths and into the dry sauna as you are supposed to do. First thing off I noticed was a black guy slowly stroking his erect penis in the dry sauna. I thought it was odd and left the sauna into one of the hot tubs. Then I noticed an older white guy who originally was a little shy and walked around in a speedo now got out of the chair massage pool area with a full on chub. It didn't click for me until I saw two Hispanic guys start tweaking each other's nipples wordlessly while the other 3-4 guys in the dry sauna either pretended not to see or said nothing. That's when it hit me: everyone in the private bathhouse area was gay. I had unbeknownst entered a gay cruising spot and they were probably all really confused as to why I didn't have at least a semi hard on walking around the place. I immediately showered and left. Oh a few more things: there were practically no Asians while I was there (I saw one Asian couple in the pool area) which in hindsight is a huge red flag. What kind of Korean spa doesn't attract Koreans? Also the bathroom in the men's locker room was out of service. The only reason I'm giving Spa Castle 2 stars instead of 1 is because I got a nice massage. I'm never coming back to this shithole. read more

I hadn't been to spa castle in 10 years and it looks much nicer than I remember. We enjoyed the facilities. What we didn't enjoy was the up charges for everything. We had a massage--possibly the worst of my life--and they asked us about upgrading twice. We did the upgrades and it wasn't worth it. So I would say come, enjoy the facilities, skip the massage. "Operate as usual" We are being told to stay inside, by the news, weather experts, with toxic air conditions and this place not only stays OPEN but refuses to not charge a fee when we try to reschedule. So we have to go in order to avoid losing money, we have to risk our health and our lungs to avoid losing money. This place is trash and doesn't care about customers "wellness" just making money. Took my two daughters to the Spa Castle as a three day stay vacation. We purchased the spring massage package for all three of us and it was perfect. We had the Swedish massage for 45 minutes. It was awesome. Very professional. We spent the rest of the day. We use the saunas we used the whirlpool we went outside in the whirlpool. The French fries warmer for people... lol we ate chicken fingers and fries, dumplings... they were really good. I highly recommend the messages. Now the negative parts. I handful of whirlpool jets were out of order. Their was only one working bathroom stall in the ladies locker room -3 were closed. Came here for a friends bday. We had to buy tickets in the facility so there were no reservations spots. Biggest pet peeve was that there were SO many kids there and so loud. I couldn't enjoy any of the pools because there was just so much children. We ordered food there and let me just say that the food was amazing. Def recommend. I got chicken dumplings, fries, the buffet shrimp, cheese burgers, quesadilla, and mango Bellinis. The drinks are good. The bar doesn't open till 12p. The floor was wet everywhere and i wish the saunas were bigger. The ice room was not cold it was luke warm at best. The place was clean, but... 1) A lot, I mean a lot of features in the pools were not working. You keep pressing the buttons and the jets don't work. 2) toilet broken. 3) some areas were closed. 4) outdoor showers out of service. 5) kids pool out of service. 6) I still have pain on my neck as a result from a Swedish massage I received. I'm a certified body therapist and whatever I received was not a Swedish massage. My daughter liked her therapist though. 7) you can get a look/stare head to toe and a compliment from a male staff. Outside pool area is renovated, but a lot of jets still does not work. Outdoor sauna did not work as well. At 9pm they told us to leave outdoor pool. When we went in our sections my friend texted me at 9:06pm that they do not let him shower. I was happy I could have shower in female section. Around 9:15pm, ladie working there start yelling we have to leave shower. Bottom line, new management has to learn hospitality business and manage facility accordingly. We payed so much to relax and some had to leave with chlorine on their skin and I personally had to rush not to dry my hair properly or even put cream on my body for proper hydration... Sad to say, I have to agree with everyone else who gave it 1 star, it removes the whole Korean Spa experience when the customer needs to bring their own replacement of uniforms, the point is that with the entrance fee, you get access to the saunas, hot baths, cold baths, steam room, WITHOUT having to worry about doing your own laundry! Btw, the hot baths were barely hot at 90 degrees, the saunas stay below 170, they didn't have a sign out front saying in advance own uniform needed or we have ones for purchase. So customers only find out AFTER you pay the entrance fee of $50! So now customers are left with bitterness and SCAMED $20-$50 for a uniform that should have been a culture norm to be provided as part of the experience. Several other customers were just as confused as I was wondering about the facility shocked they now need to decide if they should cave into giving them extra $$ for a swimming suit/robe(not a Korean spa experience), a large towel, just so the entrance fee doesn't go to waste. They've raised their prices and stopped offering complimentary bathrobes and towels. They justify this with Covid-19, but we all know at this point that's not how the virus spreads. (UPDATE) So I went this past Thursday (April 6th) after a little hiatus. It's just like I remember it, clean, relaxing and a good time. A few of the buttons for the pool jets aren't working, and they still haven't put the water fountain back in the locker area, but other than that, I have no real complaints. The nude-only area is still one of the most relaxing areas in the spa, but the entire place is a vibe. One thing I notice about other people's reviews is the complaints about having to be naked to use the bath area. If you check out the site before visiting, it clearly states you have to be naked to use this area (sticking with traditional korean tradition). If nudity is an issue for you, then just avoid the nude area. It's really that simple. read more

I would like to share our experience on February 18, 2025 This Spa is not equipped to serve families where there is one parent with a child of opposite sex. I came with my 10 year old son on Tuesday. We enjoyed your outdoor jacuzzi the first thing and rushed to get a hot shower inside only to find there are NO SHOWERS on the jacuzzi floor. The ones outdoors are closed for the winter and there is no single shower indoors. We have to go to another floor to rinse, but the showers are not accessible for my son - he can't go to the men's bath area unattended and there is no stand alone shower in the men's locker room. I can't go to woman's locker room/bath area showers without leaving my son. How is it possible that there is no single shower available in the whole Spa for neither of us, when we payed the full price? So after the outdoor we went to get warm in the indoor jacuzzi, but one can only stay there for so long before one's eyes start to sting from the chlorine fumes. We went to the saunas so not to get cold, but our skin got dry and scorching from the chlorine. I told my son, let us go to the respectful bathroom, you go to men's and I go to woman's, to rinse our eyes and faces in the sink. Our eyes really stung from the dryness of saunas and the chlorine of the pool, I couldn't stop rubbing my teary eyes. The water in the bathrooms was cold, but we washed our faces. So now we were stuck on the second floor, in wet swimsuits and wet robes, unable to take a shower or warm ourselves in the steam room which is inside the locker rooms. I guess it's not couples friendly as well, because when you come as a couple you can only use best saunas going there alone. And in case of mother and son, we couldn't use them at all. I consider the dry sauna and steam room real saunas with real health benefits, providing relaxation, the rest of the saunas are just fancy add ons, they don't give such health benefits or relaxation like the traditional ones. I couldn't wait to get home in the night to be able to rinse myself and my child. Now I am looking at myself in the mirror and my left eye has a huge hematoma on the white of the eye. Really guys, for the price I payed for the both of us, around $150, we should have been able to wash our faces and ourselves. Not mentioning the so called "family changing room" is just a cold, unequipped room INSIDE woman's locker room. How is my boy supposed to get there? And it doesn't resolve the problem of the absence of a shower for him. To say I am extremely disappointed is to say nothing. Not only because I was unable to get the full experience of the saunas, but because we didn't get even basic commodities for the price of the full experience. You probably spend a fortune on heating the outdoor jacuzzis, but couldn't install an indoor shower on the jacuzzi floor? How can a customer not be able to shower? I simply have no words. I think you owe me a refund and shouldn't advertise "family locker room available" until you make at least one shower available for the family that's going to use it.
