This was my first time ever…read morehaving a facial at a spa, so I was excited and a little nervous not knowing what to expect. The front desk staff was very helpful -- walking me through the consent forms, showing me the changing area, and helping me set the password for my locker. After changing, you're given a robe and slippers. The robe is incredibly soft and almost weighted, which added to the comfort. It even has pockets for your jewelry or glasses. Phones are not allowed in the treatment area, and no video/photo is permitted past the changing room, which I appreciated (and respected) for privacy. The facial itself was extremely relaxing. The music was at the perfect volume, and the room lighting was dim without being too dark -- just enough to enhance the experience. The service included a hand and arm massage with hot stones and warm compresses, which was such a nice touch. One minute I was getting a scrub, and the next I was waking up -- it was that relaxing. They also have a retail area at the front where you can purchase the products used during your service. Overall, a wonderful first spa experience. I'm already looking forward to booking my second facial and trying other services they offer. 100% would recommend

However , they expect me to " gift my gift cards" to my family and friends -just a matter of time for those that go there to stop going there! Save your money and go elsewhere !! If this company can't take a 3 start to improve their customer service with their patrons don't waste your time !! I have seen other posts from other companies with negative or constructive feedback where the customer is using explicit language, however, the company acknowledges the feedback and learns to take it in , they don't bully people over yelp or personal emails . No wonder they have a huge turnover!! Look at who's running the place !

The walk to our tub was one of my favorite parts. The garden-like pathways with all the trees and flowers made it feel like we had left the Bay Area for a little while. It was peaceful and had such a relaxing atmosphere. Our private tub was surprisingly spacious and included a changing area with a bench, mirror, hooks, and even a shower, which was a nice bonus. We were also happy that our tub was open to the sky instead of covered-- it was so nice being able to look up at the clouds while soaking. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be at night under a clear sky full of stars. We came because we were incredibly sore after some intense workouts, and spending an hour here was exactly what we needed. It was clean, private, relaxing, and absolutely worth the money. We'll definitely be back!!!

Book Tony. That's it. That's all. That's the review!!!…read more I typically visit every three months for an 80-minute hot stone massage and was previously seeing Gabe (unfortunately, he's no longer with Woodhouse). Gabe was fantastic--he always listened to my needs and paid extra attention to the areas that needed it most. This time, I was paired with Tony and OMG--he was amazing! You know a massage is good when you catch yourself snoring? That was me, LOL. Tony provided the perfect amount of pressure and, like Gabe, really listened to my concerns and focused on the areas I needed most. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend!

I had a very disappointing experience at Woodhouse Spa in Walnut Creek…read more We scheduled a couples massage specifically requesting to be in the same room. We arrived on time, checked in, and were escorted back to begin our services. After we had already undressed and were prepared for our massage, we were informed that the appointment could not be accommodated as scheduled because the therapists needed breaks. At no point prior to our arrival were we notified of any staffing adjustments or scheduling conflicts. Instead, we were told, after we were already ready for service, that the massages would have to take place in separate rooms. We were then informed that they were fully booked for the rest of the day and could not reschedule us for the couples experience we originally booked. The only alternative offered was a complimentary guided self experience in the sauna, which was not comparable to what we had reserved. Alexa, the hospitality manager, did apologize and stated that Anna, the spa director, would be contacting us. As of yet, that has not happened. The lack of communication and follow through was extremely frustrating. If therapist breaks were going to interfere with scheduled appointments, we should have been notified before arriving. Being informed only after we were undressed and expecting our couples massage was uncomfortable and unprofessional. This experience reflected a serious lapse in customer service. When a service cannot be delivered as promised, there should be a meaningful effort to correct the situation and ensure the client still receives what they scheduled. I recommend taking your hard earned money somewhere you are valued and not expected to simply accept something different than what you reserved. Anna, After receiving your comment on my previous post, I feel it is important to clarify our position. We shared with you, as customers, exactly what our experience was booking this appointment online through your company's website. Rather than acknowledging how this situation unfolded from the client's perspective, your response focuses on explaining internal policies and procedures. Our frustration is not about therapist breaks or operational logistics. It is about communication. At no point prior to our arrival were we notified that the couples room was not secured. We arrived on time, were escorted back, undressed, and only then informed that the appointment would not be accommodated as expected. That is the core issue. As customers, we can only rely on the booking system provided by your company. If duet services must be reserved by phone and the online system does not guarantee placement in the same room, that process should be made unmistakably clear and proactively confirmed before guests arrive, especially for something as specific as a couples massage. Furthermore, instead of continuing this issue publicly from a policy standpoint, I believe this should be addressed internally within your company to ensure others do not experience the same poor communication and disappointment. Our intention in sharing our review was simply to express our experience honestly and highlight an opportunity for improvement.

Weird since I booked an appt but whatev. They then took me to the foot massage room which was empty. An older gentleman was to help me for my foot massage. This is where it gets ho-hum. He went to get the pot of water and put my feet in the water (he didn't ask if the temp was okay or anything). He then went back to chit chat for a bit before taking my feet out of water, wrapping them both up and putting them on the ottoman and leaving to dump the water. I then put my airpods in and waited. And waited. 5 mins later he came and started on the massage. The massage honestly was more like a rub. I felt like he was scratching me from time to time. He also didn't speak English and when I asked him to give firm pressure he completely stopped and had to go get someone to translate. However he still didn't give stronger pressure. OMG. I just tried to relax but it wasn't fulfilling. It was also cold in the room. He also didn't touch either of my big toes or massage them out. WEIRD. After this foot rub, he then told me "Ok full body" and didn't say anything else like where I was going or what. At this point I was so confused but I asked for a female for the full body experience. When I went into the room it was COLD and BRIGHT! The woman didn't ask anything about pressure or no no spots or anything. It was so cold in there. She also applied cold lotion - geez. The massage was just okay. Overall my experience was so so - I wish they would have known I was coming, had dimmed the lights, have staff that speak fluent English so we can ask for things to the actual masseuse helping us and that they would use warmed lotion and have the heat on, on cold days. Also a massage is not a RUB down. A 2 hour massage should elicit a nice nap, and feelings of relaxation not uncertainty when you are finished. I tipped 18% and the guy at the counter looked at me weird, as if I left $5. I was turned off completely by this attitude. They assume they are doing a good job maybe? I don't know if I will be back. There is hefty competition in the area and I don't know if its worth it.

Based on those reviews, I carefully selected the masseuse I thought would work best for my shoulder tension and knots. Unfortunately, I did not get the person I originally booked, and no one informed me of the change beforehand. The same thing happened to my friend as well. Additionally, during the check-in process, the front desk never gave me a card or questionnaire to fill out regarding the focus areas for my massage. Since this was both my friend's and my first experience here, I expected better communication and a more thorough process. Instead, the experience left me disappointed and a bit shaken. Another awkward part of the experience was the checkout process. At the end of the session, they wait for you at the front desk expecting a tip. Of course I planned to tip, but the pressure and expectation made the experience uncomfortable. One especially odd part of the Signature Massage was that the masseuse inserted her fingers into both of my ear canals without warning. I was completely caught off guard and really disliked that part of the service.

I had a wonderful experience at Sanctuary and can't recommend it enough…read more I received a massage from one of Kristin's students, and I was genuinely impressed by the level of care and skill. The pressure was just right, and she intuitively found areas of tension I didn't even realize I was holding. I felt a noticeable difference not only immediately after, but in the days that followed. It's clear that Kristin has created a space where therapists are thoughtfully trained and supported; there's a high level of professionalism and presence that really comes through. The space itself is peaceful and calming. I'll admit I was briefly confused when I arrived since it's located on the second floor, but once inside, everything felt welcoming, organized, and serene. They were ready for me right on time, and the whole experience felt smooth and intentional from start to finish.
